W: Oh, I prefer conversation. I like talking to foreigners. And I go to an English comer twice a week.
M: So you speak very good English.
W: Thank you. Besides that, I read a 1ot of English newspapers and magazines. And I have a pen-friend from the USA. We write to each other once a month.

Monologue
This is a message for Marco Dennis. My name's David Toby. I’m sorry I missed your call. I understand that you want some information about the basketball club. The club meets once a week, on Wednesday evening. There are sometimes, matches on Sunday morning, but those are just for our team players. Our meetings begin at a quarter to eight, and are about two and a quarter hours long, so we finish at ten. People like to get home in time for the 10:15 sports program on television. We meet in the hall in Park Lane, behind High Street. The hall doesn't have very good heating, so you need to bring a sweater to put on afterwards. It's also quite expensive to rent, so our players pay $12 each week…….
Tom has the most beautiful garden in our town. Peter's garden is larger than Tom's. Peter works harder than Tom and grows more flowers and vegetables, but Tom's garden is more interesting. He has built a wooden bridge over a pool. I like working in the garden, too, but I don't like hard work. Every year I enter the garden competition in our town, and I always get a small present for the worst garden in the town.
