数词
定义：表示数目或顺序的词叫数词。
2. 分类：数词分为基数词和序数词。基数词表示数目，序数词表示顺序。
基数词的构成
1）1－12有各自独立的形式。
One，two, three ,four ,five ,six ,seven ,eight ,nine ,ten ,eleven ,twelve
2）13-19后加-teen构成，thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, seventeen, eighteen, nineteen,
3）20－90的整十位数都以-ty结尾。
twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety
4）21－99，整数十位数＋各位数，中间有 “－” 。
eg. 23，twenty- three。
5）101-999 在百位数和个位数读时要加and。
eg. 102 读作 one hundred and two
113 读作 one hundred and thirteen
6)： 1、1000以上的数，每三位数加一个逗号，第一个逗号前的数为thousand，第二个逗号前的数为million（百万）, 第三个逗号前的数为billion（十亿），第四个逗号前的数为trillion（万亿）
eg.888，888，888，888 读作：
eight hundred and eighty-eight billion, eight hundred and eighty-eight million, eight hundred and eighty-eight thousand, eight hundred and eighty-eight
7）千 为 thousand ，百为 hundred , 万为 ten thousand ,十万为hundred thousand ，百万为： million
8）hundred ，thousand ，million 前有数词时，不需要用复数。
eg. two hundred 两百万 seven hundred 七百万
在以下词组中要用复数：
1）hundreds of 成百上千 thousands of 成千上万
2）在表示一排、一组、一伙的词组里
eg. by twos and threes : 三三两两
in fives 五个人一排
at six and sevens 乱七八糟
3） 表示年代
eg. in the 1990’s ( in the nineteen nineties ) 在20 世纪九十年代
4）表示某人几十岁 用 in one’s +数词复数
in one’s fifties (50 来岁时)
in one’s tens (10 来岁时)
序数词的构成
1）1－3分别为first, second, third 。
2）4－19都是在后面加上th,特殊的有 fifth, eighth, ninth, twelfth。
3）整数20－90把y变成ie 然后加th,如twentieth。
4）21－99的序数词，十位用基数，个位变序数, 中间有 “－”。
eg 第99 ，the ninety- ninth
5）序数词有时可以用缩写，如1st, 2nd, 3rd ,4th…
巧记.
基变序,有规律，词尾加上th，一二三特殊例，结尾字母，t, d, d （first, second, third ）.八去t,(eighth),九去e (ninth)，ve 要用f 替(fifth, twelfth)，ty 将y 变ie ，后加th ，别忘记。
数词的作用：
作主语 The first is better than the second.
作定语 There are three books on the shelf.
作宾语 Please show me the third.
作表语 He is the first to come to school.
数词的读法及用法
1.章节、页数的读法
第一张 the first Chapter (Chapter One)
第二课 the second lesson (Lesson Two )
第四百零八页 Page-Four-Eight
2.房间，门牌号，电话号码的读法
eg.第102 号房间 Room two-0-one
光华街 67 号 sixty-seven Huanghua Street
电话号码每次数依次读出来即可。　 7号公共汽车. Bus (9.)seven
3.年代日期时刻的读法
a.年代是四位数，两位两位读。
b.日期一般用序数词来读 eg十月一日 October 1st
c 时刻通常用基数词来读
时间的读法有两种：
a.先说分钟，后说钟点.
几点几分 （30及30 以内的数 用past）“ 分钟数词+past +小时数词”eg. 8:10 ten past eight
几点差几分（超过30分钟的，用to） “差几分钟数词+to+下一个小时数词” eg. 八点四十 twenty to nine
b.先说钟点.，后说分钟 eg.七点三十二 seven thirty-two
4）分数的表达法
分子用基数词 ，分母用序数词。当分子大于1时，分母的序数词后面要+s.
eg.1/5 one /a fifth 1/2 one/ a second 或者 one / a half
3/4 three fourths 或者 three quarters
4.小数
小数点读作ponit，其后的数词分开来一个一个地读，0可读作zero（或nought），也可读作[ou]。如
0.2 --- o [ou] point two; nought (zero) point two
1.19 --- one point one nine
5．百分数
读百分数时，只要在基数词或小数词之后加上percent即可。如：
25％ ---- twenty-five percent
0.5％ ---- o [ou] point five percent
6.倍数表示法 　　 a. 主语+谓语+倍数（或分数）+ as + adj. + as 　　 I have three times as many as you. 我有你三倍那么多。 　　 　　 b. 主语+谓语+倍数（分数）+ the size (amount，length…) of… 　　 The earth is 49 times the size of the moon. 地球是月球的49倍。 　　 c. 主语+谓语+倍数（分数）+ 形容词（副词）比较级+ than… 　　 The grain output is 8 percent higher than that of last year. 　　 今年比去年粮食产量增加8%。
d. 还可以用by+倍数，表示增加多少倍 　　 The production of grain has been increased by four times this year. 今年粮食产量增加了4倍。 7、大约数的表示方法
（1）表示小于用 less than、under、below、or less等。
eg. He is good at English, so he can finish the paper in less than two hours.
（2）表示超过用 more than、over、above、beyond、or more等.
eg. Peking University has a history of more than 100 years.
（3）表示大约用or so、about、around、nearly等。
eg. About 50 people were present at that time.
