1. What do you want to be when you grow up
when用作连词,“当……时”,用来引导时间状语从句。在when引导的时间状语从句中,主语是一般将来时,从句要用一般现在时表示将来。
2. How are you going to do that I’m going
to practice basketball every day.
这是一个be going to用于特殊疑问句的句子,
be going to表示将要发生的动作,“计划,打
算”,后跟动词原形。常跟表将来的时间连用。
practice作动词,表示“(不间断地)练习”,后可用名词作宾语,若跟动词时需用动词-ing形式。
例:He always wants to practice his English
with me.
他总是想跟我练习英语。

why引导的宾语从句的复合句。why从句作know的宾语,需用陈述句语序。why在此作连词,意为“为什么”。
be good at“擅长,在……方面成绩好”,at后可接名词、代词或动词-ing形式。

be sure about sth/doing sth. 确信某事,
确信做某事,对做某事有把握。
例:他确信他们会对这个感兴趣。

be sure的用法:
(1) be sure+of/about+动词-ing形式或名词,
“确信 ……; 对……有把握”。
例:他自信会成功的。
He is sure of success.
(2) be sure + that从句,“肯定……;有
把握……”主句的主语一定是人,可以替换为
It is certain + that从句。
例:我相信吸烟对你没有好处。
