We all know smoking(吸烟)is bad for our 1 .Every year lots of people get sick(病)or die because of smoking. But do you know that people die every day from breathing(呼吸)smoke from 2 people's cigarettes(香烟)?
Smoking can cause cancer (导致癌症). If smokers had learned these facts when they were young, they probably would never have started smoking.
Most smokers try their 3 cigarette when they are teenagers. Often, they start smoking because they think that it 4 them look more grown-up. Sometimes they start smoking because their friends tell them that it is cool to do so. If teenagers are told that half of the smokers will lose their 5 before the age of 65 from smoking cigarettes, how can they still think it is cool to smoke
It is really quite 6 for us to smoke. Smokers only want to try it at first. But they smoke more and more, and when they want 7 it up, they can't. The habit is so strong that smokers find it very hard to give up. So many smokers get sick and some of them even lost their lives. Lots of people regret(后悔)the decision(决定)to 8 smoking, later in life.
Smoking is so bad for us, so we should keep away from the bad habit. If you have this habit, you can try stopping it little by little. When you want to smoke, eat some fruit or candies. You can also do some other 9 things to make you think of something else.
As teenagers, we need to know how bad cigarettes are for our health and the health of the other people who are living 10 us. We also should tell people around us not to smoke.

Do you think the cold weather can make you sick When the temperature goes down, many people get sick and catch a cold. Some of us think it happens because of the changes(变化) of temperature. In fact, this isn't the main reason for the sickness.
So why do people get sick when the weather changes It's because temperature changes bring different viruses(病毒).These viruses cause sickness.
For example, the common cold virus can become more and more in cooler weather. That is
why people get a cold easily in autumn. And viruses spread(传播)most quickly when the air is
cold and dry. So people get the flu in winter.
However, there are ways to stay healthy when the weather changes. For example, washing your hands carefully, exercising, and eating and sleeping well.
After all,the things that really make you sick are bacteria (细菌) and viruses. But I find that in China, people always make sure to wear lots of clothes when it's cold outside.
I'm an English person. I stayed in China for three years, many people asked me why I didn't wear more clothes. They thought I wore too little during the winter.
I think this might have something to do with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). There is a word in TCM. It is called yuanqi(元气). This word means a thing can help one's body work and stay healthy. If you don't wear enough clothing when it's cold, your body will have to use more energy(能量) to keep you warm. Chinese people wear lots of clothes to stay warm and save energy in winter.
But I still don't like to wear too many clothes, even when it's cold. I get hot easily during winter months if my clothes are too warm. I didn't get sick because of this yet, so I don't think I have too much to worry about.
