I am my mother's third girl. When I was born, the doctor gently explained to my mother that my left arm was missing, below the elbow(肘). Then, he gave her some advice, “Don't treat her any differently from the other girls.” And she did!
There were five girls in our family and we all had to help out. Once when I was about seven, I came out of the kitchen, “Mom, I can't peel potatoes. I only have one hand.” “You get back to peel those potatoes, and don't ever use that as an excuse for anything again!”
Of course I could peel potatoes with my good hand and my other arm.“Jenny, if you try hard enough,” she said, “you can do anything.”
Once in the second grade, our teacher had each of us race across the monkey bars(攀爬架). When it was my turn, I said “no”. Some kids laughed. I went home crying.
The next afternoon, Mom took me back to the school playground. “Now, pull up with your right arm,” she advised. She praised me when I made progress. I'll never forget when I was crossing the bars, the kids were standing there with their mouths open.
It was the way with everything. Mom had the courage to face anything. And she told me I could, too.

22.What did the doctor's advice mean

C.My mom should look after me differently.
D.My mom should treat me the same as the others.
23.Who peeled the potatoes at last
A.Jenny. B.Jenny's mom. C.Jenny's sister. D.Nobody.
24.Why did Mom take me back to the school playground the next day
A.Because she wanted to tell me I could do anything.
B.Because she wanted the teacher to let me try again.
C.Because she would punish the kids who laughed at me.
D.Because she would like to praise me before the other kids.
25.What's the best title for the passage

Children know that summer is probably the most fun of all seasons. However, experts say it is also the most dangerous, especially, for children aged 14 and under. In its first study of children’s safety in the US, the National Safe Kids Campaign (NSKC) found that nearly half of the injury-related (与受伤相关的) deaths (死亡) among children happened in summer.
Experts are not surprised by the study’s results. They always know summer is a dangerous season for children. During the summer, children are out of school and spend more time outdoors. They are more likely to get into an accident (事故) or be injured (受伤). “While we encourage (鼓励) children to be active and spend more time outdoors, they need to understand the importance of safety,” said Everett Koop, an expert of the NSKC.
To help children stay safe, the NSKC started a “Make it a Safe Kids Summer” campaign during National Safe Kids Week, from May 5 through May 12. Here are some important summer safety tips from the NSKC:
●Always wear your seat belt.
●Wear a life jacket when on a boat or doing water sports.
●Obey all traffic rules.
●Don’t meet e-pals alone.

Dear Peter,
I’m sorry to hear that you got injured while playing basketball. How are you feeling now I think you should have a good rest at home. And you’d better take care of yourself when you do sports.
Everything goes well here! I enjoy great changes in my school. Now, the teachers make their teaching styles colorful. In my science class, my teacher always encourages us to think, and cultivates our ability to study independently. In addition, we have plenty of time to try what we want to do. We had our School Day last week. There were different kinds of activities, such as the speech contest, the talent show, volunteering…I took part in the English speech contest, and I won the first prize. I will send you some photos about my School Day if you like.
Hope you’ll get better, and be back to your school as soon as possible.
Best wishes!
Yours,
Li Hua
