Beijing worked hard to give Paralympic athletes (残疾运动员) a better and convenient environment to have games during the winter vacation.
From March 4 to 12, around 600 Paralympians from 46 countries and regions competed in 78 events of six ice and snow sports in the Games. China has the largest team with sixty-eight men and twenty-eight women athletes. They won many prizes for the country's Winter Paralympic (冬残奥) history.
All the athletes have something wrong with their bodies. Some are blinded or deaf. It is difficult to imagine how they live. But they never lose the hope for life. Instead, they find the meaning of sports. To make everything easy for them, Beijing did a lot of things, such as automatic doors, audio services, Braille signage(盲文), special seats and bathrooms. "It has been a good few years of hard work," said an officer.
In China, there are 85 million people with disabilities. They join in different activities in culture and sports these years with a rise from 6.8% in 2015 to 23.9% in 2021. Understand people's differences
Not everyone has to do things the same way or behave the same way. Find people who have the same feeling. That is always a good basic for the friendship. You can take part in activities outside school like sports, art classes and dancing classes. There you can have more chances to find people who have the same interest as you.
Develop your friendship
Friendships do not just happen, and they need work. Phone your friends once in a while. Being there when they need you means that they will do the same for you.
Accept others' invitations
Even if someone invites you to a neighborhood party, you never know who else will be there. Laughing and playing together could start a new friendship.
