槟城（Penang），是马来西亚13个行政州之一的槟榔屿（Penang Island）州首府所在地。槟城的中心城区又称乔治市（Georgetown），位于槟榔屿的东北方。这是一个以华人为主，具有古老历史文化的城市，也是马来西亚第二大城市。相传早在1405年，郑和下西洋途中曾在此逗留。随着郑和下西洋，我国东南沿海居民便纷纷迁移东南亚，谋求发展。而槟城便成为移民落脚的大本营。
槟城山（Penang Hill）当地称之为“升旗山”，位于岛屿中部，距乔治市中心约6公里，主峰高830米，为滨城高点。它不仅是当地居民的避暑圣地，也是马来西亚一处重要的旅游景区。由于昔日英国高官多居住于此，山下士兵利用旗语传递重要讯息，故得名“升旗山”。登山游客可乘搭缆车，或沿着小径及梯级徒步而上，一路欣赏隐藏在升旗山热带雨林内的奇花异草，沿途并可俯览乔治市的壮丽景色。
海墘街(Weld Quay) 指槟城渡轮码头及其附近的一片地区，是槟城过去和现在的缩影。早年的华人在码头登岛后便就近在此落脚发展，逐渐形成繁华的社区和集市贸易。游客在这里可以看到槟城的美景，体验槟城人的生活，品尝当地特色美食。当地建筑风格多种多样，历史遗迹、旧时房屋和现代新式建筑，绘就了一幅槟城特有的风景画卷。
乔治市(Georgetown) 槟城的中心城区又称乔治市，因英国国王乔治三世而得名。

(1) try在此作及物动词，其后常接名词、代词、动词-ing或不定式。
