槟城(Penang),是马来西亚13个行政州之一的槟榔屿(Penang Island)州首府所在地。槟城的中心城区又称乔治市(Georgetown),位于槟榔屿的东北方。这是一个以华人为主,具有古老历史文化的城市,也是马来西亚第二大城市。相传早在1405年,郑和下西洋途中曾在此逗留。随着郑和下西洋,我国东南沿海居民便纷纷迁移东南亚,谋求发展。而槟城便成为移民落脚的大本营。
槟城山(Penang Hill)当地称之为“升旗山”,位于岛屿中部,距乔治市中心约6公里,主峰高830米,为滨城高点。它不仅是当地居民的避暑圣地,也是马来西亚一处重要的旅游景区。由于昔日英国高官多居住于此,山下士兵利用旗语传递重要讯息,故得名“升旗山”。登山游客可乘搭缆车,或沿着小径及梯级徒步而上,一路欣赏隐藏在升旗山热带雨林内的奇花异草,沿途并可俯览乔治市的壮丽景色。
海墘街(Weld Quay) 指槟城渡轮码头及其附近的一片地区,是槟城过去和现在的缩影。早年的华人在码头登岛后便就近在此落脚发展,逐渐形成繁华的社区和集市贸易。游客在这里可以看到槟城的美景,体验槟城人的生活,品尝当地特色美食。当地建筑风格多种多样,历史遗迹、旧时房屋和现代新式建筑,绘就了一幅槟城特有的风景画卷。
乔治市(Georgetown) 槟城的中心城区又称乔治市,因英国国王乔治三世而得名。

try v.&n. 尝试;设法;努力
(1) try在此作及物动词,其后常接名词、代词、动词-ing或不定式。
He tried his fortune in another city.
(2) try还可作可数名词,意为“尝试”,常用单数形式。have a try意为“试一试”。
She didn’t manage to break the record, but it was a good try.
That not difficult. You can have a try.
try to do sth. 尽力做某事 指努力去做。
try doing sth. 尝试做某事 含有看看某种方法是否能成功的意思,不一定付出努力。

difference 既可作可数名词,又可作不可数名词。
