用法总结 “名词+’s”是名词所有格,表示人或物的所属关系。
1.单数名词后加“’s”(以s结尾的人名后加“’”或“’s”)。例如:
my brother’s book 我弟弟的书
James’/James’s cat James的猫
2.以s结尾的复数名词只加“’”,不以s结尾的复数名词通常加“’s”。例如:
the two girls’ room 这两个女孩的房间
the three children’s mother 这三个孩子的母亲
3.当表示两个人或多个人共有一个物品时,只在最后一个名字后面加“’s”。如果表示每个人各自拥有,那么每个人的名字后面都应该加“’s”。例如:
Mary and Jane’s car Mary和Jane的汽车(她们共有的汽车)
Mary’s and Jane’s cars Mary和Jane的汽车(她们各自的汽车)
特别注意
表示两个人或多个人共有一个物品时,该物品名词用单数形式;表示每个人各自拥有的物品时,该物品的名词用复数形式。
4.“名词+’s”所有格后的名词为住所、商店或办公场所等时,该名词通常可省略。例如:
at the doctor’s 在诊所
