Different cultures have various festivals, but the joy and eagerness are the same. For us adults, celebrations are a way of taking a break from heavy work, reliving past memories, and keeping traditions alive, but what about children
Well, for our kids, this is a perfect time to learn and enrich their lives with knowledge. At festivals, I remember, I introduced the value and importance of personal connections and cultural treasure to my kids while they were having fun. Child experts strongly suggest that parents tell their kids various rituals (仪式) of the festivals and have them join in celebratory activities.
I think every festival has a rich backstory, and every story has plenty of lessons and values to teach. Besides, historical and geographical background connected with festivals gives reasons why we celebrate festivals with specific rituals.
Kids need to have a deep-rooted understanding of the identity(特征) of their culture and traditions. This not only helps in developing a positive sense of identity but also pushes kids to connect themselves with their culture through rituals, native decorations, food, etc., to keep continuity over generations. Thus, parents should make kids a central part of all festivals.
It is no secret that gifts bring joy and excitement to children. Every time I give gifts to my kids, I find the gifts excite their senses and make them feel valued. I must make my kids believe that their family cares about their interests and desires. Thus, giving gifts is a meaningful way to express feelings to kids. What's more, the act of giving and receiving gifts helps develop feelings of care and kindness.

I opened my eyes and started to stretch, wishing it was just a dream, but of course it wasn't! I was extremely tired from staying up late the night before because I was so anxious about the big day. I dragged myself out of my bed to do my normal routine. As I was brushing my teeth, I looked up at the mirror and it hit me that I was about to graduate from high school. This was the first time that I'd been so happy and extremely sad at the same time and the only thing running through my mind was that this was really happening.

As my friends and I were getting our caps and gowns on, my favorite teacher Ms. Sue walked up and said to me, “Congratulations to you, Lily!” She gave me a special book. I never knew a book could give me such inspiration. I just kept on thinking to myself that this was finally it! I was so happy that it was time to move on to a new chapter in my life. As everyone was taking their seats, I felt like I was sitting on pins and needles—I was so nervous. Once and for all it was time they called out my name. I started walking up those stairs and it felt like the whole entire world was behind me. All I could see was a beautiful future ahead. This opened up many possibilities for me, like going to college, moving out on my own, and paying bills. I've never felt so proud of myself and the person I've become. This experience has made me become a better person.
