Analysis of text What: 该语篇主题属于主题语境“人与社会”中的子主题“体育与健康”,由三个文本组成。第一个文本讲述了一名十六岁高中生Jeremy因经常生病,以及为没能通过体育考试而困扰,进而在网上求助Martin医生确认长跑是否能解决当前困扰;第二个文本是本课的主体内容,Martin医生在网站上给予肯定的回答,并指出长跑的诸多优点,例如对环境设备没有特殊要求、有利于健康、预防疾病、增强上肢和下肢的力量、增强免疫系统、振奋精神、缓解压力等,并建议初学跑步者应注意跑前与跑后的热身与放松,以免受伤。第三个文本为网站跳转的更多长跑指南,即长跑三原则——适量、坚持、不要运动过度。(本节课只处理前两个文本) Why: 该语篇主题意义在于学生通过语篇的学习能够深入理解长跑的好处,掌握科学的运动方法,并学会选择适合自己的运动,增强体育锻炼的意识,进而真正实现培养德、智、体、美、劳全面发展的社会主义建设者和接班人的目标;通过网站咨询以及回复的展现形式,使学生意识到面对困境,可通过多种途径寻求帮助和解决办法,从而培养学生积极的人生态度。 How: 该语篇体裁为新媒体语篇,语篇共分为三个部分。第一部分清晰地阐释了自己的问题以及询问的内容;第二部分中用到许多描述长跑好处的表达,比如help you get fit, prevent diseases, strengthen your immune system, cheer themselves up, provide relief from aches or tension等。通过“It is important to warm up and cool down properly...” “you should...”等句式表达来提供建议,利用“also”“besides”等词清晰阐释自己的观点。此外,文中也用到了一些专业术语的表达来描述跑步的好处,如“good upper and lower strength”, “increase the flow of blood and oxygen to your brain”,给学生的理解增加了难度;第三部分的网站链接关于跑步需要遵循的原则,共三条,每一段第一句为建议,加粗强调,后面为细节补充。符合网站文本形式特点,使读者一目了然,在最短的时间获取最重要的信息。
Analysis of students 本课时谈论的“跑步与健康”话题,与学生生活联系紧密, 通过有效的情境创设和问题引导,学生会积极主动参与各种语言实践活动。高一学生大部分能够说出一些关于跑步以及跑步的好处的简单词汇和句子,但是他们并不能够使用一些复杂的表达,尤其是关于跑步好处的专业术语,并且大部分学生不太习惯主动大方地用英语表达自己的观点和想法。
Teaching Objectives Language Competence: Students can grasp the vocabulary of this lesson, such as be fed up with, awkward, prevent, relief, strengthen and so on; Get information about running, and summarize the benefits and advice of running; Understand the structural characteristics of such material.
