一、教材分析
【What】本课文本为议论文,围绕“金钱与成功”主题,通过采访曾为百万富翁的 Jason Harley 展开叙述。呈现 Jason 从拥有巨额财富、豪华住所的生活,到放弃财富、过简约生活并投身慈善,探寻别样成功的经历,探讨金钱与成功的关系。 【why】属于“生活与价值”主题,聚焦金钱观与成功观。通过 Jason 的故事,引导学生思考金钱是否等同于成功,理解成功的多元内涵,树立正确价值观,体会精神富足、帮助他人等带来的成功感。 【How】 以新闻采访形式,从第三人称叙述引入,介绍Jason 前后生活对比。先描述大众对百万富翁与成功的关联认知,再聚焦Jason 个人经历,通过居住环境、生活方式、思想转变等细节,展现其对金钱和成功态度的变化,运用对比、举例等手法传递主题。
二、学情分析
词汇语法方面:高二学生已掌握基础词汇、简单句子结构,具备理解文本基本内容的能力,但对于文中“give away(捐赠)、fortune(财富)”等与金钱、生活态度相关词汇,以及复杂表意句子(如含让步、因果逻辑的长句)的精准理解需强化。 背景知识方面:学生在生活中对金钱、成功有朴素认知,多将财富、物质条件与成功挂钩,对“精神富足型成功”的深度理解较少,可基于日常经验引发共吗与思考。
三、教学目标

Understand the logical structure of argumentative texts (posing questions → presenting different views → drawing conclusions). 2. Cultural Awareness Compare different cultural perspectives on the relationship between money and success, and reflect on the value of "success" in a multicultural context. 3. Thinking Quality Develop critical thinking by analyzing the pros and cons of "money equals success" and forming personal, evidence-based opinions. 4. Learning Ability Improve reading strategies: skimming for main ideas, scanning for specific details, and inferring the author’s attitude.

Step 3: While-reading 1:Skimming Ask students to read the text quickly and answer: ①What is the author’s main view on money and success ②How many parts can the text be divided into 2: Scanning ①Give students a table about the descriptions of Jason’s life in the past and now. ②Ask Students to scan the text quickly and fill in the table with different descriptions. 3: Deep Reading ① Focus on the author’s attitude: Ask students to find 2-3 sentences that show the author’s attitude. ② Answer the questions: “How did Jason feel when he was rich why ” “Why did he give away all his money to charities ” “How did he feel after he gave away all his money to charities why ” Students answer the questions and think about the reasons. Train students’ language compentence and thinking qualities. 25minutes
Step 4: Post-reading 1:Group Discussion Give a discussion topic: Do you think Jason made a good decision will you make a similar choice Requirements: Each group of 4 must use at least 3 key words from the text and sentence pattern. 2:Class Presentation Invite 2-3 groups to share their discussion results. The teacher gives feedback on language accuracy and logicality. 3: Summary The teacher summarizes the text’s core idea: True success includes both material security and spiritual fulfillment, and money is a tool rather than the goal of success. Students express their opinions freely and discuss with their peers. Enhancing students’ English output and training their critical thinking skills. 10minutes

七、 教学反思
The class sharing time was too short. Only 3 groups shared, and some good ideas from other groups were not presented. Next time, I can use a “quick share”method (each group says one key point in 30 seconds) to include more students.
