Pen
That
Draws
in
Any
Color
The
Scribble
is
a
magical
pen
that
can
scan
colors
and
instantly
reproduce
the
colors.
Hold
the
Scribble’s
scanner
up
to
any
color,
and
within
a
second
that
color
is
stored
in
its
memory.
Once
stored,
that
color
can
be
used
to
draw
on
paper
or
on
a
digital
screen.
Who
can
use
the
Scribble
?
Children
will
love
the
Scribble
because
it
can
create
different
colors,
replacing
even
their
biggest
box
of
crayons
(蜡笔).
Besides,
anyone
working
with
color
in
their
professional
lives,
such
as
artists,
will
be
able
to
scan
and
reproduce
colors
instantly.
The
Scribble
is
the
best
color—Green
One
of
the
most
important
characteristics
of
the
Scribble
is
that,
since
it
can
reproduce
any
color,
it
replaces
marking
pens,
greatly
reducing
the
huge
amount
of
plastic
waste.
What’
s
inside
the
Scribble
?
There
will
be
two
different
versions
of
the
Scribble,
the
Scribble
INK
and
the
Scribble
STYLUS.
The
INK
will
be
able
to
reproduce
exact
colors
on
paper.
It
includes
a
color
sensor,
1
GB
of
internal
memory
that
will
store
over
100,000
colors,
a
rechargeable
battery,
Bluetooth
4.0
connectivity,
a
processor
and
5
ink
cartridges
(盒).
The
STYLUS
is
exactly
the
same
as
the
INK,
minus
the
ink
cartridge
as
it
is
intended
for
use
on
screen.
How
did
we
create
the
Scribble?
We’ve
been
in
the
design
process
for
two
years
and
the
Scribble
has
gone
through
various
design
changes
to
get
it
to
where
we
are
now.
Because
of
its
small
size
we
have
created
some
ideas
never
seen
before
in
the
color
reproduction
industry.
We
created
the
Scribble
for
YOU
and
want
you
to
be
a
part
of
the
process!

Twice
every
month,
Miranda
Sam,
a
66-year-old
Ghanaian,
visited
the
China
Traditional
Herbal
Hospital,
a
private
herbal
facility
at
Pokuase,
a
suburb
of
the
Ghanaian
capital,
for
treatment.
“I
was
squeezing
lemons,
and
when
I
finished,
I
could
not
get
up
or
even
move
my
legs,
so
I
went
to
the
hospital
and
did
an
X-ray
examination,
but
they
saw
nothing.
Meanwhile,
I
could
not
walk
and
was
in
a
wheelchair,”
the
retired
worker
said.
Hence
Miranda
decided
to
visit
the
herbal
facility.
“On
two
occasions,
I
had
to
do
acupuncture(针灸),
and
I
have
found
great
relief.
Now
I
walk
unaided,
so
I
keep
coming
for
treatment,”
she
said.
As
Traditional
Chinese
Medicine
(TCM)
is
gaining
popularity
in
Ghana,
many
acupuncture
clinics
run
by
Chinese
doctors
pop
up
in
the
country.
However,
the
China
Traditional
Herbal
Hospital
was
established
by
52-year-old
Ghanaian
business
owner
Bediako,
after
his
fruitful
encounter
with
the
effects
of
TCM
in
2012.
With
the
help
of
a
Chinese
lady,
Bediako
set
up
a
small
clinic
specializing
in
TCM.
Years
on,
the
facility
has
subsequently
grown
into
a
bigger
herbal
hospital.
The
hospital
treats
patients
with
a
combination
of
local
and
Chinese
herbal
formulas.
It
supports
this
with
the
application
of
traditional
Chinese
medical
methods.
Strokes(中风)
account
for
1.3
percent
of
all
hospital
admissions
in
Ghana,
and
6.3
percent
of
all
hospital
deaths.
But
Bediako
is
confident
that
as
more
people
with
these
conditions
turn
to
the
natural
methods
of
healing,
the
pain
and
death
rates
would
subside.
“A
gentleman
was
brought
here
three
weeks
ago,
who
could
not
sit,
stand,
or
walk.
He
was
first
taken
through
acupuncture.
I
observed
him
on
camera
30
minutes
later,
squatting(蹲),
standing,
and
walking.
You
come
here
with
your
pain
but
will
leave
with
a
smile.
That
is
our
feature,”
he
said.
The
hospital
has
started
a
second
facility
in
Ashaiman
near
the
capital,
with
plans
to
open
other
branches
across
the
country
to
meet
the
growing
demand.
4.
What
can
we
learn
from
Miranda’s
words
in
Paragraph
2?
A.
Her
illness
is
not
a
bit
severe.

Squeezing
lemons
is
a
risky
job.

She
is
feeling
better
now.
D.
She
is
unsure
about
what
to
do
next.
5.
What
do
we
know
about
Bediako’s
hospital?
A.
It
is
located
in
the
downtown
area.

It
was
originally
a
specialized
clinic.
C.
It
was
established
by
a
Chinese
doctor.

It
uses
nothing
but
Chinese
herbs.

the
writer’s
probable
attitude
towards
the
TCM
in
Ghana?

Concerned.
C
The
paper,
published
in
May
by
the
Journal
of
Marketing
Research,
analyzed
purchases
made
from
a
single
large
European
retailer
and
found
that
free
shipping?did
encourage
customers
to
buy
more.
But
it
also
increased
purchases
of
items
that
historically
have
higher
return
rates,
such
as
clothing
or
products
from
lesser-known
brands.
Thus,
returns
also
increased
as
a
result
of
the
promotions,
to
the
point
where
profits
were
erased.
In
one
part
of
the
paper,
during
the
typically
four-week
periods
when
free
shipping
was
offered,
online
order
volumes
rose
11%.
But
when
the
cost
of
returns
was?compared
with
the
sales?proceeds(收入),
the
authors
calculated
that
on
balance
the
results
for
the
promotion
periods
amounted
to
an
average
0.7%
loss.
In
one
analysis
that
ran
for
two
months,
the
researchers
found
that
the
return
rate?for
customers
who
bought
low-risk
products
—
like
office
supplies,
or
products
from
well-known
brands
—
averaged
about
22%.
In
another
analysis,
the
researchers
attempted
to
better
understand
motivations
of
online
shoppers
by
measuring
their
attitudes
toward
free
shipping.
They
found
two
things
were
happening.
First,
consumers
saw
free
shipping
as
compensation
for
taking
a
risk
on
a
product.?Second,
feelings
of
gratitude
for
having
shipping
costs
eliminated(消除)
made
them
happy
and
thus
more
willing
to
make
a
risky
purchase.
Prof.
Neslin
advises
companies
to
look
at
whether
their
own
free-shipping
promotions
are
profitable
before
they?launch?such
campaigns.
Also,
he
advises
companies
to
identify
which
products
get
returned
more
often
than
others
and
try
to
provide
customers
with
more
information
about
those
products,
so
they
can
make
more-informed
choices.
8.
What
erased
the
profits
according
to
the
first
paragraph?
A.
The
risky
customers.
B.
The
European
retailer.
C.
The
returned
items.
D.
The
lesser-known
brands.
9.
What
can
we
learn
from
the
passage?
A.
Consumers
risked
purchasing
a
product
when
free
shipping
came
along
with
it.
B.
Free
shipping
encouraged
customers
to
buy
products
from
well-known
brands.
C.
Online
order
volumes
rose
only
when
free
shipping
was
offered
as
compensation.
D.
Purchases
of
office
supplies
also
increased
during
the
typically
four-week
periods.
10.
What
are
companies
advised
to
do
according
to
Prof.
Neslin?
a.
Design
profitable
free-shipping
promotions.
b.
Make
sure
they
have
shipping
costs
removed.
c.
Provide
more
information
about
their
products.
d.
Distinguish
products
with
higher
returned
rates.
A.
abc
B.
abd
C.
acd
D.
bcd
11.
What
is
the
paper
mainly
about?
A.
Low-risk
products.
B.
Return
rates.
C.
Increased
purchases.
D.
Free
shipping.
D
Camaraderie
over
Competence
The
importance
of
liking
people
is
the
subject
of
an
article
in
the
Harvard
Business
Review,
which
has
carried
out
an
experiment
to
find
out
who
we’d
rather
work
with.
Hardly
surprisingly,
the
people
we
want
most
as
our
workmates
are
both:
brilliant
at
their
jobs
and
delightful
human
beings.
And
the
people
we
want
least
are
both
unpleasant
and
useless.
More
interestingly,
the
authors
found
that,
given
the
choice
between
working
with
lovable
fools
and
competent
jerks
(性情古怪的人),
we
irresistibly
choose
the
former.
Anyway,
who
likes
those
stupid
men
who
annoy
or
hurt
other
people?
We
might
insist
that
competence
matters
more,
but
our
behavior
shows
we
stay
close
to
the
people
we
like
and
sharing
information
with
them.
What
companies
should
therefore
do
is
get
people
to
like
each
other
more.
The
trick
here
is
apparently
to
make
sure
staffs
come
across
each
other
as
often
as
possible
during
the
day.
They
also
should
be
sent
on
bonding
courses
and
so
on
to
encourage
friendliness
and
break
down
displeasure.
However,
more
outdoor-activity
weekends
and
shared
coffee
machines
inspire
no
confidence
at
all.
The
reality
is
that
people
either
like
each
other
or
they
don’t.
You
can’t
force
it.
Possibly
you
can
make
offices
friendlier
by
tolerating
a
lot
of
chat,
but
there
is
a
productivity
cost
to
that.
In
my
experience,
the
question
of
lovable
fool
against
competent
jerk
may
not
be
the
right
one.
The
two
are
interrelated:
we
tend
not
to
like
our
workmates
when
they
are
completely
hopeless.
I
was
once
quite
friendly
with
a
woman
whom
I
later
worked
with.
I
found
her
to
be
so
outstandingly
bad
at
her
job
that
I
lost
respect
for
her
and
ended
up
not
really
liking
her
at
all.
Then
is
there
anything
that
companies
should
be
doing
about
it?
By
far
the
most
effective
strategy
would
be
to
hire
people
who
are
all
pretty
much
the
same,
given
that
similarity
is
one
of
the
main
determinants
of
whether
we
like
each
other.
I
think
this
is
a
pretty
good
idea,
but
no
one
dares
recommend
this
anymore
without
offending
the
diversity
lobby
group.
There
is
only
one
acceptable
view
on
this
subject:
teams
of
similar
people
are
bad
because
they
stop
creativity.
This
may
be
true,
though
I
have
never
seen
any
conclusive
proof
of
it.
Not
only
do
we
like
similar
people,
we
like
people
who
like
us.
So
if
companies
want
to
promote
more
liking,
they
should
encourage
a
culture
where
we
are
all
nice
to
each
other.
The
trouble
is
that
this
needs
to
be
done
with
some
skill.
12.

of
colleagues
would
most

to
choose?
A.
Nice

unintelligent.
B.
Creative
but
unattractive.
C.
Competent
but

D.
Humorous
but

more
and

less
D.
be
likely
to

more
coffee
machines
in
the
work
place
B.
organize

activities
outside
the

C.
encourage
a

of

annoyances
are
easy
to
deal
with,
but
walking
back
your
anger
when
you're
having
a
heated
conversation
with
someone
is
a
lot
more
difficult.
There
are
things
you
can
do
in
the
moment
to
calm
yourself,
though.
1.
Acknowledge
that
you're
angry.
When
you're
angry,you
notice
it
in
your
body.
___16___
If
you're
not
physically
feeling
it,
you
might
hear
it
in
the
sound
of
your
voice.
Once
you
notice
this,
try
to
adjust
your
voice.
Just
as
increasing
anger
can
correspond
to
an
increasingly
loud
voice,
so
can
the
opposite.___17___
2.
Give
yourself
a
time
out.
How
do
you
do
the
exercise
above
when
you're
in
the
middle
of
a
face-to-face
conversation?
Call
a
personal
timeout.
Walking
away
gives
you
time
to
calm
down
and
collect
your
thoughts
before
responding.
This
also
aids
in
decreasing
anger.
Of
course,
don't
just
peace
out
of
the
argument.
Let
whoever
you're
talking
to
know
that
you
just
need
a
little
physical
space.
3.
Ask
yourself
what
emotion
is
behind
the
anger.
___18___
More
often
than
not,
anger
is
a
“secondary
emotion”
we
use
as
a
mask
or
a
defense
for
an
entirely
different
feeling
(shame,
for
instance,
or
embarrassment).
Once
you're
aware
of
the
real
emotions
at
play,
you
can
communicate
it
to
the
person
you
snapped
at.
Also,
you'd
apologize
to
your
co-worker
and
perhaps
consider
asking
your
manager
to
lighten
your
workload.
4.
___19___
Let's
say
you've
taken
the
advice
above,
but
you're
still
feeling
heated.
If
so,
changing
the
topic
of
conversation
can
also
be
a
good
way
to
cope
with
anger
in
the
moment.___20___
If
you
were
discussing
something
serious-or
something
that
needs
to
be
explained
finally-table
the
discussion
for
later
or
the
next
day,
when
you
calm
down.
A.
Change
the
subject
of
the
conversation.
B.
Stop
the
conversation
with
your
partner.
C.
Anger
will
do
damage
to
your
lungs
and
heart.
D.
Try
responding
to
your
loud
voice
by
gradually
lowering
it.
E.
Now
that
you've
calmed
down,
think
about
what's
motivating
your
anger.
F.
Make
a
joke
and
reroute
the
conversation
to
a
safe,
calm,
enjoyable
dialogue.
G.
Anger
will
often
cause
changes
in
our
body,
such
as
muscle
tension
or
sore
neck.

Mary
waited
anxiously
for
her

in
the
empty

room.
Never
had
she
been
so
nervous
before.
This
competition
was
of
vital
importance
to
her
comeback
.“If
I
can
win
today,”
she
said
to
herself,
“I
can
dance
on
the

Three
months
ago,
her
left
arm
was
seriously
injured
in
a
car
accident.
After
the
medical
treatment
,
she
began
to
recover
slowly.
She
practiced
over
and
over
again
in
order
to
regain
her
dancing
skills.
“Hi,
Mary,”
in
rushed
her
friend
Jessica.
“How
is
your
arm?
Is
it
going

influence
your
performance?”
“I
guess
it
can
be
tolerated
for
I
am

said
Mary
with

“Admirable!

to
practice
her
most
difficult
spin
.
“If
I
don’t
try
harder,
I
won’t
grasp
this
chance.”
She
thought.
But
her
arm
began
to
hurt,
making
her
worried.
“Mary,
what
makes

you

chance
tonight?”
she
said
to
herself.

she
continued
to

Then,
she

quickly
and
put
it

Seeing
Mary,
she
smiled
politely
and
said
“Hi,
I’m
Linda.
I
am
the

one!”
Mary
nodded
in
reply
but
felt
uncomfortable.
“This
is
just
my
competitor.
Because
of
her,
I
may
lose
tonight.”
Her
mind
was
wandering
when
Linda
let
out
a
scream,
“Oh,
God,
I
can’t
find
my
music
tape!”
Linda
searched
her
bag
but
in
vain
.
“It

these
words,
she
then
rushed
out.

Pen
That
Draws
in
Any
Color
The
Scribble
is
a
magical
pen
that
can
scan
colors
and
instantly
reproduce
the
colors.
Hold
the
Scribble’s
scanner
up
to
any
color,
and
within
a
second
that
color
is
stored
in
its
memory.
Once
stored,
that
color
can
be
used
to
draw
on
paper
or
on
a
digital
screen.
Who
can
use
the
Scribble
?
Children
will
love
the
Scribble
because
it
can
create
different
colors,
replacing
even
their
biggest
box
of
crayons
(蜡笔).
Besides,
anyone
working
with
color
in
their
professional
lives,
such
as
artists,
will
be
able
to
scan
and
reproduce
colors
instantly.
The
Scribble
is
the
best
color—Green
One
of
the
most
important
characteristics
of
the
Scribble
is
that,
since
it
can
reproduce
any
color,
it
replaces
marking
pens,
greatly
reducing
the
huge
amount
of
plastic
waste.
What’
s
inside
the
Scribble
?
There
will
be
two
different
versions
of
the
Scribble,
the
Scribble
INK
and
the
Scribble
STYLUS.
The
INK
will
be
able
to
reproduce
exact
colors
on
paper.
It
includes
a
color
sensor,
1
GB
of
internal
memory
that
will
store
over
100,000
colors,
a
rechargeable
battery,
Bluetooth
4.0
connectivity,
a
processor
and
5
ink
cartridges
(盒).
The
STYLUS
is
exactly
the
same
as
the
INK,
minus
the
ink
cartridge
as
it
is
intended
for
use
on
screen.
How
did
we
create
the
Scribble?
We’ve
been
in
the
design
process
for
two
years
and
the
Scribble
has
gone
through
various
design
changes
to
get
it
to
where
we
are
now.
Because
of
its
small
size
we
have
created
some
ideas
never
seen
before
in
the
color
reproduction
industry.
We
created
the
Scribble
for
YOU

It
includes
a

(盒)”可知,这款笔里面有颜色传感器、1G的内存、可充电的电池、蓝牙
4.0、
处理器和
5
个墨盒。所以判断出涂鸦笔是高科技产品。故选C。
【2题详解】
细节理解题。根据

Twice
every
month,
Miranda
Sam,
a
66-year-old
Ghanaian,
visited
the
China
Traditional
Herbal
Hospital,
a
private
herbal
facility
at
Pokuase,
a
suburb
of
the
Ghanaian
capital,
for
treatment.
“I
was
squeezing
lemons,
and
when
I
finished,
I
could
not
get
up
or
even
move
my
legs,
so
I
went
to
the

and
did
an
X-ray
examination,
but
they
saw
nothing.
Meanwhile,
I
could
not
walk
and
was
in
a
wheelchair,”
the
retired
worker
said.
Hence
Miranda
decided
to
visit
the
herbal
facility.
“On
two
occasions,
I
had
to
do
acupuncture(针灸),
and
I
have
found
great
relief.
Now
I
walk
unaided,
so
I
keep
coming
for
treatment,”
she
said.
As
Traditional
Chinese
Medicine

gaining
popularity
in
Ghana,
many
acupuncture

by
Chinese
doctors

in
the

However,
the
China
Traditional
Herbal
Hospital
was
established
by
52-year-old
Ghanaian
business
owner
Bediako,
after
his
fruitful
encounter
with
the
effects
of
TCM
in
2012.
With
the
help
of
a
Chinese

Bediako
set
up
a
small
clinic
specializing
in
TCM.
Years
on,
the
facility
has
subsequently
grown
into
a
bigger
herbal
hospital.
The
hospital
treats
patients
with
a
combination
of
local
and
Chinese
herbal
formulas.
It
supports
this
with
the
application
of
traditional
Chinese

methods.
Strokes(中风)
account
for
1.3
percent
of
all
hospital
admissions
in
Ghana,
and
6.3
percent
of
all
hospital
deaths.
But
Bediako
is
confident
that
as
more
people
with
these
conditions
turn
to
the
natural
methods
of
healing,
the
pain
and
death
rates
would
subside.
“A
gentleman

He
was
first

acupuncture.
I
observed
him
on

30
minutes
later,
squatting(蹲),
standing,
and
walking.
You
come
here
with
your

but
will

That

he
said.
The

The

published
in
May
by
the
Journal
of
Marketing
Research,
analyzed
purchases

from
a
single
large
European

that
free

Thus,
returns
also

part
of
the
paper,
during

the
authors
calculated
that
on

the
results
for
the

amounted
to
an

In
one

customers
who
bought
low-risk

averaged
about
22%.
In
another
analysis,
the
researchers
attempted
to
better
understand
motivations
of
online
shoppers
by
measuring
their
attitudes
toward
free

They
found
two
things
were
happening.
First,
consumers
saw
free
shipping
as
compensation
for
taking
a
risk
on
a
product.?Second,
feelings
of
gratitude
for
having
shipping
costs
eliminated(消除)
made
them
happy
and
thus
more
willing
to
make
a
risky
purchase.
Prof.

D
Camaraderie
over
Competence
The
importance
of
liking
people
is
the
subject
of
an
article
in
the
Harvard
Business
Review,
which
has
carried
out
an
experiment
to
find
out
who
we’d
rather
work
with.
Hardly
surprisingly,
the
people
we
want
most
as
our
workmates
are
both:
brilliant
at
their
jobs
and
delightful
human
beings.
And
the
people
we
want
least
are
both
unpleasant
and
useless.
More
interestingly,
the
authors
found
that,
given
the
choice
between
working
with
lovable
fools
and
competent
jerks
(性情古怪的人),
we
irresistibly
choose
the
former.
Anyway,
who
likes
those
stupid
men
who
annoy
or
hurt
other
people?
We
might
insist
that
competence
matters
more,
but
our
behavior
shows
we
stay
close
to
the
people
we
like
and
sharing
information
with
them.
What
companies
should
therefore
do
is
get
people
to
like
each
other
more.
The
trick
here
is
apparently
to
make
sure
staffs
come
across
each
other
as
often
as
possible
during
the
day.
They
also
should
be
sent
on
bonding
courses
and
so
on
to
encourage
friendliness
and
break
down
displeasure.
However,
more
outdoor-activity
weekends
and
shared
coffee
machines
inspire
no
confidence
at
all.
The
reality
is
that
people
either
like
each
other
or
they
don’t.
You
can’t
force
it.
Possibly
you
can
make
offices
friendlier
by
tolerating
a
lot
of
chat,
but
there
is
a
productivity
cost
to
that.
In
my
experience,
the
question
of
lovable
fool
against
competent
jerk
may
not
be
the
right
one.
The
two
are
interrelated:
we
tend
not
to
like
our
workmates
when
they
are
completely
hopeless.
I
was
once
quite
friendly
with
a
woman
whom
I
later
worked
with.
I
found
her
to
be
so
outstandingly
bad
at
her
job
that
I
lost
respect
for
her
and
ended
up
not
really
liking
her
at
all.
Then
is
there
anything
that
companies
should
be
doing
about
it?
By
far
the
most
effective
strategy
would
be
to
hire
people
who
are
all
pretty
much
the
same,
given
that
similarity
is
one
of
the
main
determinants
of
whether
we
like
each
other.
I
think
this
is
a
pretty
good
idea,
but
no
one
dares
recommend
this
anymore
without
offending
the
diversity
lobby
group.
There
is
only
one
acceptable
view
on
this
subject:
teams
of
similar
people
are
bad
because
they
stop
creativity.
This
may
be
true,
though
I
have
never
seen
any
conclusive
proof
of
it.
Not
only
do
we
like
similar
people,
we
like
people
who
like
us.
So
if
companies
want
to
promote
more
liking,
they
should
encourage
a
culture
where
we
are
all
nice
to
each
other.
The
trouble
is
that
this
needs
to
be
done
with
some
skill.
12.
According
to
the

which
kind
of

B.
Creative
but
unattractive.
C.
Competent
but
unfriendly.
D.
Humorous
but
unambitious.

about
her

A.
people

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇说明文。本文通过调查发现人们乐于与聪明乐观,工作能力强的人一起工作,因为同事的能力很重要,相似的人在一起工作会阻碍创新能力,并据此为企业提供了一些建议。
【12题详解】
细节理解题。根据第一段中“Hardly
surprisingly,
the
people
we
want
most
as
our
workmates
are
both:
brilliant
at
their
jobs
and
delightful
human
beings.”
毫不奇怪,我们最希望成为同事的人既是工作出色的人,也是讨人喜欢的人。由此可知,人们乐于和聪明且乐观的人一起共事,故选A。
【13题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段中“we
tend
not
to
like
our
workmates
when
they
are
completely
hopeless.”
当我们的同事在工作上毫无希望时,我们往往不喜欢他们。由此判断出,作者通过讲述自己的经历来说明同事的工作能力是很重要的。故选C。
【14题详解】
细节理解题。根据第四段中“teams
of
similar
people
are
bad
because
they
stop
creativity.”可知,相似的人在一起工作会阻碍创新能力,故选B。
【15题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段中“Not
only
do
we
like
similar
people,
we
like
people
who

We

For
the

but
walking

your

when
you're

with
someone
is
a

There
are
things
you
can
do
in
the
moment
to
calm
yourself,
though.
1.
Acknowledge
that
you're

When
you're

___16___
If
you're

you
might

Once
you

How
do
you
do
the

when
you're

of
a

conversation?
Call
a
personal
timeout.
Walking

gives
you
time
to
calm
down
and
collect
your
thoughts
before
responding.
This
also
aids
in
decreasing
anger.
Of
course,
don't
just

of
the
argument.
Let
whoever
you're
talking
to
know
that
you
just
need
a

dancing
skills.
“Hi,
Mary,”
in
rushed
her
friend
Jessica.
“How
is
your
arm?
Is
it
going
to
influence
your
performance?”
“I
guess
it
can
be
tolerated
for
I
am
to
win
the
match
.
”
said
Mary
with
a
determined
look.
“Admirable!
But
I
hear
that
a
girl
called
Linda
is
really
gifted
and
strong.
She
can
be
your
real
well-matched
competitor.
Come
on!”
After
Jessica
left,
Mary
decided
to
practice
her
most
difficult
spin
.
“If
I
don’t
try
harder,
I
won’t
grasp
this
chance.”
She
thought.
But
her
arm
began
to
hurt,
making
her
worried.
“Mary,
what
makes
you
think
you
have
a
chance
tonight?”
she
said
to
herself.
After
the
pain
was
gone,
she
continued
to
warm
up.
A
slim
girl
hurried
in
and
put
down
an
equipment
bag
on
the
chair.
Then,
she
took
out
her
dance
dress
quickly
and
put
it
on
skillfully.
Seeing
Mary,
she
smiled
politely
and
said
“Hi,
I’m
Linda.
I
am
the
next
one!”
Mary
nodded
in
reply
but
felt
uncomfortable.
“This
is
just
my
competitor.
Because
of
her,
I
may
lose
tonight.”
Her
mind
was
wandering
when
Linda
let
out
a
scream,
“Oh,
God,
I
can’t
find
my
music
tape!”
Linda
searched
her
bag
but
in
vain
.
“It
may
be
missing
on
the
way.”
With
these
words,
she
then
rushed
out.
