(教材原文)When he got absorbed in his world of music, he felt as if he could “see” the beauty of the world around him, like he had in his previous life.

as if 相当于 as though,意为“仿佛;好像”,可引导状语从句或表语从句。从句的谓语根据语义的要求,可用陈述语气或虚拟语气。
(1)如果所引导的从句表示的情况是真实的或极有可能发生的情况时,句子要用陈述语气。
