结果状语从句
so…that…结构的意思是“太……以至于……”。so后面接形容词或副词，表示程度，that后接从句表示这一程度造成的影响或结果。
We were so noisy that our next-door neighbour came to complain.
我们太吵了，以致隔壁邻居前来抱怨。
I was so careless that I forgot something important.
我真是粗心，以致忘记了重要的事情。
He speaks so fast that I can’t understand him.
他说话太快了，以致我没理解他的意思。
such…that…也可以引导结果状语从句。与so…that…不同的是：such后面接名词或名词词组，结构为：
such+ (a/an)+形容词+名词+that…。
It’s such an interesting film that we all want to see it.
这部电影很有趣，我们都想去看。
It is such nice weather that I’d like to take a walk.
天气如此好，因此我想去散散步。
让步状语从句
由although引导的让步状语从句表示“尽管……，（但是）……”。一般情况下，可以和though引导的让步状语从句互换使用，但在口语中though更为常用。
I can look after myself, although/ though it won’t be easy for me.
我还是可以照顾自己的，虽然这对我来说并不容易。
Although/ Though Kevin is alone, he is very happy at first.
尽管凯文独自一人(在家)，但他刚开始还是挺高兴的。
He went on fighting, though/ although he was wounded.
尽管受了伤，他还是继续战斗。
1. although 常用于句首，较正式。它引导的让步状语从句用正常语序，不可倒装。
2. though 位置灵活，可放在句首、句中或句末，较口语化。它引导的让步状语从句可用部分倒装。
虽然下着雨，但我们还是去了那儿。
Though/Although it was raining, we went there.
这份工作很辛苦，但是我喜欢。
It’s hard work. I enjoy it, though.
虽然他们打得很勇敢，但还是没有机会获胜。
Bravely though they fought, they had no chance of winning.
[注意] although/though 不能与 but 同时出现在一个句子中，但可与 yet/still 搭配使用。
虽然他有很多钱，但并不幸福。

Home Alone
Home Alone is a very funny 1990 American film. It tells a story about a boy who is accidentally left alone at home.
One night before Christmas, the McAlister family meet at their home. They are planning to fly to Paris for the holiday and are busy getting ready. Eight-year-old Kevin is the youngest child and is fighting with his brothers and sisters and his cousins. When he goes to bed, he is so angry that he wishes all his family would go away. In the morning, everyone wakes up very late. They are all in a hurry to get to the airport, so they forget Kevin and he is left alone at home by accident.

Although Kevin is alone, he is very happy at first. His terrible family has gone—his wishes has come true. He watches TV, eats lots of fast food and plays games. He has a good time. But later on, he goes out and hears two bad men called Harry and Marv planning to steal from his house. He goes home and plans some very funny ways to catch Harry and Marv.Many things in the house get broken as Kevin tries to stop them. Finally, the police come and the men are taken away.
The house is now a mess, so Kevin tidies it up and waits for his parents. They get back from Paris and very happy to find that Kevin is safe.
