我没有足球,但是我哥哥(弟弟)艾伦有。
...but my brother Alan does.是一个省略句,为了避免重复,
此处用does代替了has a soccer ball。
故此句完整的表达方式是:
I don't have a soccer ball,but my brother Alan has a soccer ball.

I don't have a soccer ball, but my brother Alan does.我没有足球,但是我哥哥(弟弟)艾伦有。
前面一句的谓语动词为实义动词时,后一句中与前面成分相
同的成分,在肯定句中可用助动词do或does代替;在否定句
中可用don't或doesn't代替。
e.g.
I don’t like English, but Mike does.
I like English, but Lucy doesn’t.
