Bradley
McConachie,
a
33-year-old
Australian
is
actually
a
student
in
international
relations
completing
his
PhD
through
Griffith
University.
He
came
to
Beijing
for
a
cooperative
research
at
Beijing
University
two
years
ago.
Such
an
academic
life
was
colorful
with
a
chance
offered
by
the
cultural
exchanges
project,
“I'm
in
China".
Bradley
was
lucky
to
win
the
most
"likes"
for
his
photo
story
about
his
life
in
China
and
became
one
of
20
winners
to
visit
locations
by
the
project
this
summer.
All
the
winners’
experiences
were
filmed
to
produce
a
reality
show,
My
Chinese
Working
Day,
which
will
be
broadcast
by
mid-September.
Bradley
was
chosen
to
work
as
a
recreational
manager
for
a
Chinese
wedding.
The
film
crew
took
them
to
many
“amazing
sites"
and
the
staff
at
the
resort
taught
them
a
lot
about
how
to
incorporate
modern
Chinese
features
while
still
keeping
traditional
customs.
“I
would
have
to
say
two
things
stick
out
as
the
most
memorable:
the
helicopter
ride
and
talking
with
the
staff
at
the
hotel
about
how
they
organize
weddings
here
in
China,"
he
said.
That
was
Bradley's
first
time
to
be
in
a
helicopter,
and
he
was
too
absorbed
with
the
“stunning"
view
of
the
coastline.
“I
think
it
is
so
important
to
show
other
Australians
the
different
landscapes
China
has
to
offer.
I
think
so
many
Australians,
when
they
think
about
China,
imagine
the
historical
sites
of
Beijing
and
the
exciting
things
to
see
in
Shanghai
but
have
no
idea
about
other
beautiful
places,
like
Sanya
or
the
many
other
places
people
have
been
taken
to
in
this
TV
series.
It
was
nice
to
experience
these
little
touches.
I
was
happy
to
be
a
part
of
that
experience!”
Bradley
said.
24.What
made
Bradley's
life
more
colorful?
A.Obtaining
his
PhD.
B.The
cultural
exchanges
project.
C.The
research
about
Beijing
University.
D.The
interest
in
international
relations.
25.Why
was
Bradley
given
the
chance?
A.He
produced
the
reality
show.
B.His
life
in
China
was
interesting.
C.He
was
one
of
the
top
20
winners.
D.He
liked
photo
stories
most.
26.Which
of
the
following
best
explains
“stunning"
in
Paragraph
4?
A.Fantastic.
B.Confusing.
C.Agreeable.
D.Extreme.
27.What
can
we
infer
from
the
last
paragraph?
A.It's
difficult
to
produce
moving
TV
series.
B.Beijing
and
Shanghai
are
historical
sites.
C.Sanya
is
worth
visiting
for
foreigners.
D.Many
Australians
know
little
about
China.
C
We’ve
all
been
there:
in
a
lift,
in
line
at
the
bank
or
on
an
airplane,
surrounded
by
people
who
are,
like
us,
deeply
focused
on
their
smartphones
or,
worse,
struggling
with
the
uncomfortable
silence.
What’s
the
problem?
It’s
possible
that
we
all
have
compromised
conversational
intelligence.
It’s
more
likely
that
none
of
us
start
a
conversation
because
it’s
awkward
and
challenging,
or
we
think
it’s
annoying
and
unnecessary.
But
the
next
time
you
find
yourself
among
strangers,
consider
that
small
talk
is
worth
the
trouble.
Experts
say
it’s
an
invaluable
social
practice
that
results
in
big
benefits.
Dismissing
small
talk
as
unimportant
is
easy,
but
we
can’t
forget
that
deep
relationships
wouldn’t
even
exist
if
it
weren’t
for
casual
conversation.
Small
talk
is
the
grease
(润滑剂)
for
social
communication,
says
Bernardo
Carducci,
director
of
the
Shyness
Research
Institute
at
Indiana
University
Southeast.
“Almost
every
great
love
story
and
each
big
business
deal
begins
with
mall
talk,”
he
explains.
“The
key
to
successful
small
talk
is
learning
how
to
connect
with
others,
not
just
communicate
with
them.”
In
a
2014
study,
Elizabeth
Dunn,
associate
professor
of
psychology
at
UBC,
invited
people
on
their
way
into
a
coffee
shop.
One
group
was
asked
to
seek
out
an
interaction
(互动)
with
its
waiter;
the
other,
to
speak
only
when
necessary.
The
results
showed
that
those
who
chatted
with
their
server
reported
significantly
higher
positive
feelings
and
a
better
coffee
shop
experience.
“It’s
not
that
talking
to
the
waiter
is
better
than
talking
to
your
husband,”
says
Dunn.
“But
interactions
with
peripheral
(边缘的)
members
of
our
social
network
matter
for
our
well-being
also.”
Dunn
believes
that
people
who
reach
out
to
strangers
feel
a
significantly
greater
sense
of
belonging,
a
bond
with
others.
Carducci
believes
developing
such
a
sense
of
belonging
starts
with
small
talk.
“Small
talk
is
the
basis
of
good
manners,”
he
says.
28.What
phenomenon
is
described
in
the
first
paragraph?
A.Addiction
to
smartphones.
B.Bad
behaviours
in
public
places.
C.Anger
with
slow
service.
D.Absence
of
communication
between
strangers.
29.What
is
important
for
successful
small
talk
according
to
Carducci?
A.Showing
good
manners.
B.Relating
to
other
people.
C.Focusing
on
a
topic.
D.Making
business
deals.
30.What
does
the
coffee-shop
study
suggest
about
small
talk?
A.It
improves
family
relationships.
B.It
raises
people’s
confidence.
C.It
matters
as
much
as
a
formal
talk.
D.It
makes
people
feel
good.
31.What
is
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.Conversational
Intelligence
B.Ways
of
Making
Small
Talk
C.Benefits
of
Small
Talk
D.Uncomfortable
Silence
D
While
famous
foreign
architects
are
invited
to
lead
the
designs
of
landmark
buildings
in
China
such
as
the
new
CCTV
tower
and
the
National
Center
for
the
Performing
Arts,
many
excellent
Chinese
architects
are
making
great
efforts
to
take
the
center
stage.
Their
efforts
have
been
proven
fruitful.
Wang
Shu,
a
49-year-old
Chinese
architect,
won
the
2012
Pritzker
Architecture
Prize
-which
is
often
referred
to
as
the
Nobel
Prize
in
architecture-on
February
28.
He
is
the
first
Chinese
citizen
to
win
this
award.
Wang
serves
as
head
of
the
Architecture
Department
at
the
China
Department
at
the
China
Academy
of
Art
(CAA).
His
office
is
located
at
the
Xiangshan
campus
(校园)
of
the
university
in
Hangzhou,
Zhejiang
Province.
Many
buildings
on
the
campus
are
his
original
creations.
The
style
of
the
campus
is
quite
different
from
that
of
most
Chinese
universities.
Many
visitors
were
amazed
by
the
complex
architectural
space
and
abundant
building
types.
The
curves
(曲线)
of
the
buildings
perfectly
match
the
rise
and
fall
of
hills,
forming
a
unique
view.
Wang
collected
more
than
7
million
abandoned
bricks
of
different
ages.
He
asked
the
workers
to
use
traditional
techniques
to
make
the
bricks
into
walls,
roofs
and
corridors.
This
creation
attracted
a
lot
of
attention
thanks
to
its
mixture
of
modern
and
traditional
Chinese
elements.
Wang’s
works
show
a
deep
understanding
of
modern
architecture
and
a
good
knowledge
of
traditions.
Through
such
a
balance,
he
had
created
a
new
type
of
Chinese
architecture,
said
Tadao
Ando,
the
winner
of
the
1995
Pritzker
Prize.
Wang
believes
traditions
should
not
be
sealed
in
glass
boxes
at
museums.
“That
is
only
evidence
that
traditions
once
existed,

he
said.
“Many
Chinese
people
have
a
misunderstanding
of
traditions.
They
think
tradition
means
old
things
from
the
past.
In
fact,
tradition
also
refers
to
the
things
that
have
been
developing
and
that
are
still
being
created,
“he
said.
“Today,
many
Chinese
people
are
learning
Western
styles
and
theories
rather
than
focusing
on
Chinese
traditions.
Many
people
tend
to
talk
about
traditions
without
knowing
what
they
really
are,”
said
Wang.
The
study
of
traditions
should
be
combined,
with
practice.
Otherwise,
the
recreation
of
traditions
would
be
artificial
and
empty,
he
said.
32.What
should
we
do
about
Chinese
traditions
according
to
Wang?
A.Spread
them
to
the
world
B.Preserve
them
at
museums
C.Teach
them
in
universities.
D.Recreate
them
in
practice.
33.Wang's
winning
of
the
prize
means
that
Chinese
architects

B.getting
international
recognition
C.working
harder
than
ever
before
D.relying

visitors
to
the

Xiangshan
campus
most?
A.Its
hilly
environment.
B.Its
large
size.

style.
D.Its
diverse
functions
35.What
made
Wang’s
architectural
design
a
success?
A.The
mixture
of
different
shapes.
B.The
balance
of
East
and
west.
C.The
use
of
popular
technique.
D.The
harmony
of
old
and
new.
第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
In
our
day-to-day
lives,
we
must
interact
with
a
wide
variety
of
people.
Some
of
them
are
easy
to
get
along
with,
but
others
can
be
more
challenging.
It'
s
impossible
to
like
everyone.36.With
the
right
attitude
and
good
social
skills,
you
really
can
get
along
with
just
about
everyone.
37.People
with
a
genuinely
positive
attitude
are
seen
as
more
attractive
and
charming
by
others.
The
more
you
can
cultivate
this
outlook
in
your
own
life,
the
more
people
will
like
you.
Don't
make
promises
you
can't
keep.
It
can
be
difficult
to
say
no
to
people,
especially
when
you
want
to
get
along
with
everyone
and
may
whole-heartedly
want
to
say
yes
to
everything.38.This
is
part
of
communicating
effectively.
Respect
differences
between
people.
Accepting
the
fact
that
people
are
different
from
you,
and
that
doesn't
make
them
wrong,
is
part
of
having
a
positive
attitude.
The
difference
may
be
in
terms
of
behavior,
culture,
or
opinion.
These
differences
are
not
only
okay.39.
Keep
it
short.40.And
one
of
the
best
ways
to
get
along
with
difficult
people
is
not
to
spend
any
more
time
with
them
than
necessary.
You
arc
less
likely
to
have
a
conflict
with
them
if
you
spend
less
time
with
them.
A.Develop
a
positive
outlook.
B.They
make
life
more
interesting.
C.Find
out
before
you
judge
them
for
yourself.
D.But
there
are
ways
to
say
no
without
being
mean.
E.
Some
people
are
a
lot
harder
to
get
along
with
than
others.
F.
Yet
sometimes
we
have
to
get
along
with
people
whether
we
like
them
or
not
G.

第一节
(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)
On
a
hot
summer
day,
a
Texan
couple
were
visiting
their
parents.
As
they
were
41
themselves
in
their
house,
the
wife's
father
suggested
driving
to
Abilene
for
a
42
.
The
son-in-law
was
43
of
the
hot,
dusty
drive
to
a
town
53
miles
away,
but
said
OK
to
avoid
being
a
44
guest.
The
wife
and
the
mother
both
gladly
45
,
so
off
they
went
to
Abilene.
The
food
wasn't
very
good,
and
they
felt
hot
and
46
after
the
106-mile
round
trip.
Then
47
started.
The
mother
said
they
would
never
have
set
out
on
the
unsuccessful
trip
if
it
had
been
48
her.
The
son-in-law
said
he
never
wanted
to
go,
but
49
himself
to
the
suggestion
because
the
others
wanted
to
go.
His
wife
said
she
went
along
with
the

would
have

to
take
a

Finally,
the
father
said
he
only
suggested
it
in
case
the
younger
couple
might
be
52
sitting
around
the
house.
In
many
cases,
going

from

this:
“I’ll

else

to.

in

in
the
woman’s

C.People

【答案】
11.B
12.A
13.C
【原文】
M:
Miss
Green,
do
you
think,
within
a
few
years,
many
people
could
work
at
home
instead
of
working
outside?
W:
It’s
happening
now.
The
communication
industry
has
made
much
progress
in
recent
years,
like
the
development
of
5G
smartphones,
and
AI
technology
also
helps.
M:
And
how
do
these
people
manage
to
work?
W:
Well,
they
have
a
television
set,
a
computer,
a
printer
and
a
telephone
to
connect
with
other
computers.
M:
Oh,
I
see.
But
surely
there’re
some
advantages
in
working
at
home.
W:
Yes.
People
don’t
have
to
spend
a
lot
of
time
getting
to
and
from
their
workplaces.
The
rush
hours
are
the
worst
time
of
day.
They
may
make
more
money
if
they
apply
for
more
different
jobs.
M:
Ah,
yes,
I
see.
What
do
you
think
about
the
conditions
of
homeworkers?
W:
Let
me
tell
you
what
might
happen.
A
British
company,
for
example,
in
London,
might
employ
clerks
in
Belfast,
or
a
Paris
company
could
have
their
managers
in
Spain.
They
just
use
a
telephone
to
call
around
for
the
employee.

Good
afternoon,
Penny.
What’s
the
problem?
W:
Well,
I
don’t
feel
very
well,
doctor.
After
three
days
of
the
toothache
and
sore
throat,
I’m
troubled
by
a
terrible
earache
now.
M:
I
can
give
you
a
new
medicine
called
Nopain,
which
is
very
useful.
You
can
get
it
at
any
medicine
shops.
W:
Nopain?
M:
Yes.
N-O-P-A-I-N.
And
you
have
to
take
the
medicine
after
breakfast
and
supper.
You
don’t
need
to
take
it
after
lunch.
And
remember
to
take
it
always
after
meals.
That’s
very
important.
W:
And
how
long
do
I
have
to
take
it?
M:
You
have
to
finish
this
bottle,
so
that’s
five
days.
Come
back
and
see
me
then.
W:
Next
Monday?
The
first
of
September?
M:
No,
not
Monday,
Tuesday.
That’s
the
second
of
September.
W:
What
time
can
I
see
you,
doctor?
M:
You
have
to
make
an
appointment
with
the
nurse
at
the
reception
outside.
W:
Thank
you
very
much.
听第10段材料,回答第18至20题。
18.How
many
factors
of
car
accidents
are
mentioned?
A.2.
B.3.
C.4.
19.What
measure
has
been
taken
to
reduce
car
accidents?
A.Improved
highway
design.
B.Stricter
traffic
management.
C.Strengthened
training
for
drivers.
20.What
remains
an
important
cause
of
road
accidents?
A.Poor
traffic
control.
B.Some
driverless
cars.
C.Drivers’
carelessness.
【答案】
18.B
19.A
20.B
【原文】
W:
As
the
car
industry
develops,
traffic
accidents
have
become
as
familiar
as
the
common
cold.
Yet
their
causes
and
control
remain
a
serious
problem
that
is
difficult
to
solve.
Experts
have
long
recognized
that
this
discouraging
problem
has
many
causes.
At
the
very
least,
it
is
a
problem
that
involves
three
factors:
the
driver,
the
vehicle
and
the
roadway.
If
all
the
drivers
exercised
good
judgment
at
all
times,
there
would
be
few
accidents.
Improved
design
has
helped
to
make
highways
much
safer.
But
the
number
of
accidents
continues
to
rise
because
of
human
failure
and
an
enormous
increase
in
the
number
of
automobiles
on
the
road.
Attention
is
now
turning
increasingly
to
the
third
cause
of
the
accidents:
the
car
itself.
People
want
to
know
how
cars
can
be
built
better
to
protect
the
drivers.
So
there
are
also
some
new
driverless
cars
on
the
road.
Are
they
really
safe?

26.A
词义猜测题。根据第三段中的“The
film
crew
took
them

many
“amazing

was
Bradley's

C
We’ve
all
been
there:
in
a
lift,
in
line
at
the
bank
or
on
an
airplane,
surrounded
by
people
who
are,
like
us,
deeply
focused
on
their
smartphones
or,
worse,
struggling
with
the
uncomfortable
silence.
What’s
the
problem?
It’s
possible
that
we
all
have
compromised
conversational
intelligence.
It’s
more
likely
that
none
of
us
start
a
conversation
because
it’s
awkward
and
challenging,
or
we
think
it’s
annoying
and
unnecessary.
But
the
next
time
you
find
yourself
among
strangers,
consider
that
small
talk
is
worth
the
trouble.
Experts
say
it’s
an
invaluable
social
practice
that
results
in
big
benefits.
Dismissing
small
talk
as
unimportant
is
easy,
but
we
can’t
forget
that
deep
relationships
wouldn’t
even
exist
if
it
weren’t
for
casual
conversation.
Small
talk
is
the
grease
(润滑剂)
for
social
communication,
says
Bernardo
Carducci,
director
of
the
Shyness
Research
Institute
at
Indiana
University
Southeast.
“Almost
every
great
love
story
and
each
big
business
deal
begins
with
mall
talk,”
he
explains.
“The
key
to
successful
small
talk
is
learning
how
to
connect
with
others,
not
just
communicate
with
them.”
In
a
2014
study,
Elizabeth
Dunn,
associate
professor
of
psychology
at
UBC,
invited
people
on
their
way
into
a
coffee
shop.
One
group
was
asked
to
seek
out
an
interaction
(互动)
with
its
waiter;
the
other,
to
speak
only
when
necessary.
The
results
showed
that
those
who
chatted
with
their
server
reported
significantly
higher
positive
feelings
and
a
better
coffee
shop
experience.
“It’s
not
that
talking
to
the
waiter
is
better
than
talking
to
your
husband,”
says
Dunn.
“But
interactions
with
peripheral
(边缘的)
members
of
our
social
network
matter
for
our
well-being
also.”
Dunn
believes
that
people
who
reach
out
to
strangers
feel
a
significantly
greater
sense
of
belonging,
a
bond
with
others.
Carducci
believes
developing
such
a
sense
of
belonging
starts
with
small
talk.
“Small
talk
is
the
basis
of
good
manners,”
he
says.
28.What
phenomenon
is
described
in
the
first
paragraph?
A.Addiction
to
smartphones.
B.Bad
behaviours
in
public
places.
C.Anger
with
slow
service.
D.Absence
of
communication
between
strangers.
29.What
is
important
for
successful
small
talk
according
to
Carducci?
A.Showing
good
manners.
B.Relating
to
other
people.
C.Focusing
on
a
topic.
D.Making
business
deals.
30.What
does
the
coffee-shop
study
suggest
about
small
talk?
A.It
improves
family
relationships.
B.It
raises
people’s
confidence.
C.It
matters
as
much
as
a
formal
talk.
D.It
makes
people
feel
good.
31.What
is
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.Conversational
Intelligence
B.Ways
of
Making
Small
Talk
C.Benefits
of
Small
Talk
D.Uncomfortable
Silence
【答案】
这是一篇议论文。在当今社会,人们在公共场合或沉迷于智能手机,或与不舒服的沉默抗争,陌生人之间缺乏沟通。但人与人之间是需要适当的交谈闲聊的,闲聊是人际关系社会交往必不可少的部分,而且也有很多好处。
28.D
主旨大意题。根据第一段的内容“We’ve
all
been
there:
in
a
lift,
in
line
at
the
bank
or
on
an
airplane,
surrounded
by
people
who
are,
like
us,
deeply
focused
on
their
smartphones
or,
worse,
struggling
with
the
uncomfortable
silence.(我们都身处过这样的场合:在电梯里,在银行或飞机上排队,周围都是像我们这样专注于智能手机的人,或者更糟糕的是,在令人不安的沉默中挣扎)”可推断,第一段主要讲述了陌生人之间缺乏沟通。故选D项。
29.B
推理判断题。根据第三段最后一句“The
key
to
successful
small
talk
is
learning
how
to
connect
with
others,
not
just
communicate
with
them"(成功闲聊的关键是学习如何与他们交流,而不仅仅是与他们沟通)”可知,Carducci认为与他人相处对于成功的闲聊很重要。故选B项。
30.D
推理判断题。根据第四段的“The
results
showed
that
those
who
chatted
with
their
server
reported
significantly
higher
positive
feelings
and
a
better
coffee
shop
experience.(结果表明,那些与服务员聊天的人报告了更高的积极情绪和更好的咖啡店体验)”可知,咖啡店的研究表明闲聊让人们感觉更好。故选D项。
31.C
主旨大意题。整篇文章刚开始介绍了社会的现象
(公共场合人们沉迷于智能手机,陌生人之间缺乏沟通交流),接着分析了这一问题的原因,接下来有专家对闲聊进行了研究,最后得出结论,闲聊都有什么样的好处。因此推断本文主要讨论了闲聊的好处。因此推断C项“闲聊的好处”为最佳标题。故选C项。

He

This

attracted
a

of

Wang’s
works
show
a
deep

of
modern

a

of
traditions.
Through

he
had

of
Chinese

said
Tadao

the
winner
of
the
1995
Pritzker

Wang
believes
traditions

“That

he
said.
“Many

They

In
fact,
tradition
also
refers
to
the
things
that
have
been

and
that

created,
“he
said.
“Today,
many
Chinese
people
are

Western
styles
and
theories
rather
than
focusing
on
Chinese
traditions.
Many
people
tend
to
talk
about
traditions
without
knowing
what
they
really
are,”
said
Wang.
The
study
of
traditions
should
be
combined,
with
practice.
Otherwise,
the
recreation
of
traditions
would
be
artificial
and
empty,
he
said.
32.What
should
we
do
about
Chinese
traditions
according
to
Wang?
A.Spread
them
to
the
world
B.Preserve
them
at

C.Teach

D.Recreate
them
in

33.Wang's

“he
said可知王澍认为传统不仅仅意味着过去的事物,也指那些一直在发展和仍然被创造出的事物。也就是说他认为传统的东西是可以在实践里被重新创造出来的。故D项正确。
33.B
推理判断题。根据第一段最后一句和第二段第一句“…many
excellent
Chinese
architects
are
making
great
efforts
to
take
the
center
stage.
Their

35.D
推理判断题。根据第五段最后一句“This
creation
attracted
a
lot
of
attention
thanks
to
its
mixture
of
modern
and
traditional
Chinese
elements.”可知王澍获奖是因为他的独创设计把现代和传统中国元素结合在一起,也就是新与旧的结合。故D项正确。

Some

37.People

Respect

这是一篇夹叙夹议文。本文通过讲述一家人外出用餐前后的经历,说明如何避免当众同意你心里不愿意的事情。
41.C
根据上文“On
a
hot
summer
day,
a
Texan
couple

visiting
their

and
relax”也是提示。故选C。
42.A
根据后文“The
food
wasn't
very
good”可知他们是去餐厅吃晚餐的。故选A。
43.D
根据后文“of
the
hot,
dusty
drive
to
a
town
53
miles
away,
but
said
OK”可知女婿并不想驱车去另一个小镇,但还是同意了,短语be
sick
of“厌倦”。故选D。
44.B
根据上文“but
said
OK
to
avoid
being
a”可知女婿之所以同意开车那么远去吃晚餐,是为了避免在父母家当一个不懂礼貌粗鲁的客人。故选B。
45.C
根据后文“so
off
they
went
to
Abilene.”可知妻子和母亲都同意了这个提议。故选C。
46.A
根据上文“they
felt
hot
and”可知天气炎热,他们出了很多汗。故选A。
47.C
根据后文“The
mother
said
they
would
never
have
set
out
on
the
unsuccessful
trip”以及“The
son-in-law
said
he
never
wanted
to
go”可知这家人开始对这次出行进行抱怨。故选C。
48.B
根据前后文语境“The
mother
said
they
would
never
have
set
out
on
the
unsuccessful
trip
if
it
had
been
…her”可知为短语be
up
to
sb.表示“取决于某人”。故选B。
49.A
根据后文“himself
to
the
suggestion
because
the
others
wanted
to
go”可知女婿是因为别人都想去,他才听从了别人的建议,短语resign
oneself
to
sth.“听从于……”。故选A。
50.D
呼应上文“himself
to
the
suggestion”指去Abilene餐厅吃饭的建议。故选D。
51.D
根据后文“not
to
take
a
road
trip”可知为短语prefer
not
to
do
sth.,表示“宁愿不做某事”。故选D。
52.B
根据后文“sitting
around
the
house”可知父亲的建议是为了不让这对年轻人在家里坐着无聊。故选B。
53.C
根据后文“from
a
desire
to
avoid
conflict”指“和睦相处”源自于避免冲突的愿望,短语arise
from“起因于……”。故选C。
54.A
根据后文“to
be
seen
as
the
"spoiler"”可知没有人愿意被视为一个计划的“扫兴者”,be
unwilling
to“不情愿做某事”。故选A。
55.B
根据前后文语境“the
"spoiler"
who
…the
ideas
and
plans
that
others
favor.”可知,“扫兴者”是指那些批评他人赞同的想法和计划的人。故选B。
56.C
根据上文“making
a
plan
or
making
a”指制定计划或做决定,decision符合语境。故选C。
57.D
根据前后文语境“to
avoid
agreeing
publicly
with
something
you
…with
privately”可知,此处的建议是避免公开同意你私下不同意的事情,disagree符合语境。故选D。
58.A
根据后文“what
others
in
the
group
do
because
they
have
their
freedom”可知其他人做什么有他们的自由,你无法控制。故选A。
59.D
结合后文的引用的话“I’ll
go
if
everyone
else
wants
to.”可知此处指大声说出自己的不同观点,故选D。
60.B
根据后文“I'd
be
just
as
happy
to
stay
here
and
relax”说的是自己内心的真实想法,可见honestly表示“老实说,说实话”符合语境。故选B。

本文是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了作者几次工作经历,包括在Sauraha托儿所工作过两个星期的经历,在Chiwan和大象的经历,以及在尼泊尔和乐于助人的工作人员在一起的经历。
61.考查名词。句意:我发现和孩子们一起工作是非常值得的,因为我相信我正在改变孩子们的生活和未来。make
a
difference为固定搭配,意为“对…...产生影响”。故填difference。
62.考查名词的数。句意:当我到达加德满都时,Chitwan大象节刚刚开始,我感谢工作人员改变了之前所有的时间表,帮助我体验了节日的文化,我非常喜欢这种文化。根据空前的all可知,空处应使用可数名词复数。故填timetables。
63.考查定语从句连接词。句意:当我到达加德满都时,Chitwan大象节刚刚开始,我感谢工作人员改变了之前所有的时间表,帮助我体验了节日的文化,我非常喜欢这种文化。分析句子可知,空处应使用关系代词which,引导非限制性定语从句,指代先行词culture(物),并在从句中充当主语。故填which。
64.考查介词。句意:在Chitwan逗留期间,我骑过大象,给大象洗过澡,我还很幸运地看到了一头罕见的小犀牛——角犀牛和它的母亲,以及其他各种鸟类和动物。结合句意和句子结构,表达“在…...期间”应使用介词during。句子首字母大写。故填During。
65.考查不定式。句意:在Chitwan逗留期间,我骑过大象,给大象洗过澡,我还很幸运地看到了一头罕见的小犀牛——角犀牛和它的母亲,以及其他各种鸟类和动物。be+adj.+enough+to
do为固定句式,意为“足够…....做某事”,故空处应使用不定式。故填to
watch。
66.考查不定冠词。句意:在Chitwan逗留期间,我骑过大象,给大象洗过澡,我还很幸运地看到了一头罕见的小犀牛——角犀牛和它的母亲,以及其他各种鸟类和动物。a
variety
of为固定搭配,意为“各种各样的”。故填a。
67.考查反身代词。句意:工作人员很乐于助人,确保我玩得开心,并且照顾好自己。分析句子可知,主语和宾语所指相同,故空处应使用反身代词,作介词of的宾语。故填myself。
68.考查被动语态。句意:当我第一次来到尼泊尔,受到工作人员的欢迎时,我真切地感觉到这是一个致力于帮助他人的组织,并且真正地表现出来。根据前文中的arrived可知,空处应使用一般过去时。由于动词greet与主语I之间是被动关系,故应使用一般过去时的被动语态。故填was
greeted。
69.考查动名词。句意:当我第一次来到尼泊尔,受到工作人员的欢迎时,我真切地感觉到这是一个致力于帮助他人的组织,并且真正地表现出来。be
devoted
to
doing
sth.为固定搭配,意为“致力于做某事”,其中,to为介词,其后跟动名词。故填assisting。
70.考查副词。句意:当我和他们在一起的时候,他们总是想着不同的方法来帮助更多的当地人,看到他们如此热衷于帮助别人真是太好了。修饰动词help应使用副词。故填hopefully。

how
to

Firstly,
each

such
as

or
making

Secondly,
try
to
communicate
with
your

and
help
them
when
they're
in
need.
Last
but
not

have
