During
this
past
year,
I’ve
had
three
instances
of
car
trouble.
Each
time
these
things
happened,
I
was
sick
of
the
way
most
people
hadn’t
bothered
to
help.
One
of
those
times,
I
was
on
the
side
of
the
road
for
close
to
three
hours
with
my
big
Jeep.
I
put
signs
in
the
windows,
big
signs
that
said
NEED
A
JACK
(千斤顶),
and
offered
money.
Nothing.
Right
as
I
was
about
to
give
up,
a
Mexican
family
in
a
small
truck
pulled
over,
and
the
father
bounded
out.
He
sized
up
the
situation
and
called
for
his
daughter,
who
spoke
English.
He
conveyed
through
her
that
he
had
a
jack
but
that
it
was
too
small
for
the
Jeep,
so
we
would
need
something
to
support
it.
Then
he
got
a
saw
(锯子)
from
the
truck
and
cut
a
section
out
of
a
big
log(圆木)on
the
side
of
the
road.
We
rolled
it
over
and
put
his
jack
on
top,
and
we
were
in
business.
I
started
taking
the
wheel
off,
and
then,
if
you
can
believe
it,
I
broke
his
tire
iron(拆轮胎的扳手).
No
worries:
He
handed
it
to
his
wife,
and
she
was
gone
in
a
flash
down
the
road
to
buy
a
new
tire
iron.
She
was
back
in
15
minutes.
We
finished
the
job,
and
I
was
a
very
happy
man.
The
two
of
us
were
dirty
and
sweaty.
His
wife
prepared
a
pot
of
water
for
us
to
wash
our
hands.
I
tried
to
put
a
$20
bill
in
the
man’s
hand,
but
he
wouldn’t
take
it,
so
instead
I
went
up
to
the
truck
and
gave
it
to
his
wife
as
quietly
as
I
could.
I
asked
the
little
girl
where
they
lived.
Mexico,
she
said.
They
were
in
Oregon
so
Mommy
and
Daddy
could
work
on
a
fruit
farm
for
the
next
few
weeks.
Then
they
would
go
home.

At
first,
Michael
Surrell
didn’t
see
the
black
smoke
or
flames
shooting
from
the
windows
of
his
neighbors’
home.
He
and
his
wife
had
just
parked
around
the
comer
from
their
own
house
when
they
got
a
call
from
one
of
his
daughters:
“The
house
next
door
is
on
fire!”
He
went
to
investigate.
That’s
when
he
saw
two
women
and
a
girl
screaming
on
the
porch
(门廊).
“The
baby’s
in
there!”
one
of
the
women
cried.
Though
the
fire
department
had
been
called,
Surrell,
then
64,
immediately
ran
inside.
“The
baby”
was
8-year-old
Tiara
Roberts,
the
woman’s
granddaughter
and
a
playmate
of
Surrell’s
three
youngest
kids.
Entering
the
burning
house
was
like
running
into
a
bucket
of
black
paint.
The
thick
smoke
caused
Surrell
to
stumble
blindly
around,
burned
his
eyes,
and
made
it
impossible
for
him
to
breathe.
The
conditions
would
have
been
dangerous
for
anyone,
but
for
Surrell,
who
has
chronic
obstructive
pulmonary
disease
(慢性阻塞性肺病),
they
were
life-threatening.
After
a
few
minutes
in
the
smoke-filled
house,
he
went
outside
to
catch
his
breath.
“Where
is
Tiara?”
he
asked
desperately.
“The
second
floor,”
her
aunt
shouted
back.
Surrell
knew
he
couldn’t
hold
his
breath
for
long.
Taking
a
deep
breath,
he
went
in
a
second
time.
The
darkness
was
overwhelming.
Yet
because
the
house
had
a
similar
layout
(布局)
to
his,
he
found
the
stairs
and
made
it
to
the
second
floor.
He
turned
to
the
right
and
was
met
by
intense
heat.
He
was
already
out
of
breath.
“Baby
girl,
where
are
you?”
His
throat
and
lungs
burned
as
if
he’d
breathed
in
fire
instead
of
the
smoke
in
the
air.
Every
blink
stung
(使疼痛)
his
eyes.
All
he
could
hear
was
the
cracking
and
popping
of
burning
wood.
Then
a
soft
moan
emerged.
Still
unable
to
see,
Surrell
fell
to
his
knees
on
the
hot
wood
floor.
He
crawled
toward
the
sound,
feeling
around
for
any
sign
of
the
girl.
A
terrible
thought
crossed
his
mind:
I’m
probably
gonna
die
up
here.

One
day,
my
brother
and
I
were
alone
in
our
apartment.
The
reason
was
that
my
parents
had
both
gone
for
a
ball
party
and
had
left
me
in
charge
of
everything.1
was
doing
my
homework
while
my
younger
brother
was
watching
TV.
All
of
a
sudden,
the
doorbell
rang.
Ding
Dong!
Ding
Dong!
My
younger
brother
had
rushed
to
the
door
before
I
decided
to
answer
the
door.
We
both
thought
that
our
parents
had
come
home.
As
a
result,
he
unlocked
the
door
and
opened
it.
Outside
of
the
house
stood
a
man
who
wore
a
black
raincoat
and
black
rubber
boots.
He
looked
no
different
from
other
people
and
he
said
that
he
was
a
salesman
and
asked
politely
if
our
mother
or
father
was
at
home
so
he
could
talk
with
them.
Without
any
thinking,
my
brother
said,
“No.”
He
asked
if
we
would
like
to
buy
some
comic
books,
which
he
was
selling.
I
quickly
explained
to
him
that
we
were
not
supposed
to
buy
anything
without
our
parents’
permission.
However,
it
seemed
that
he
was
not
willing
to
follow
my
advice
and
he
had
an
intention
to
enter
our
house.
Then,
I
realized
something
terrible
would
happen.
As
I
was
about
to
close
the
door,
he
forced
his
way
into
our
house.
He
took
out
a
knife
and
forced
me
to
tie
up
my
brother’s
hands
with
some
rope
which
he
took
out
from
his
pocket.
I
tied
up
my
brother’s
hands
but
I
tied
it
in
a
special
way
so
he
could
untie
himself
as
we
often
did.
The
man
then
tied
my
hands
up
and
locked
both
of
us
in
the
kitchen.
Soon,
he
went
upstairs
to
search
the
bedroom
for
something
valuable.
I
managed
to
teach
my
brother
to
untie
the
rope
on
his
hands.
He
then
untied
me.
I
rushed
to
the
telephone
to
call
the
police,
but
line
was
dead.

Taylor
opened
her
sleepy
eyes
and
looked
out
of
the
window
at
the
foggy
field
below.
“NO!”
she
cried,
now
fully
awake.
Buttermilk
the
cow
was
on
Mama’s
daisy
land.
I
must
have
forgotten
to
lock
the
gate
last
night,
Taylor
thought
as
she
pulled
a
sweatshirt
over
her
head.
Mama
was
planning
to
sell
daisy
bouquets(花束)
at
the
fair
next
week.
But
Buttermilk
was
eating
the
flowers.
Taylor
hurried
outside
and
grabbed
the
lead
rope
hanging
on
the
porch.
“Why
can’t
you
stay
in
the
field?”
she
called
to
Buttermilk
as
she
headed
across
the
yard
to
the
daisy
land.
Without
even
looking
up
at
her,
Buttermilk
stood
nipping(啃咬)
tender
flowers
off
their
stems(茎).
“When
I
grow
up,
I’ll
be
an
artist
and
paint
pictures
all
day,”
Taylor
thought.
“I’ll
never
own
a
cow.
Too
much
trouble.”
Just
as
Taylor
was
about
to
snap(扣住)
the
lead
rope
onto
Buttermilk’s
collar,
the
family
dog,
Red,
rounded
the
corner
of
the
house.
The
cow
couldn’t
stand
Red.
Buttermilk
took
off,
tearing
through
the
daisies
across
the
yard.
She
finally
ran
through
the
open
gate
and
into
the
field.
“Thank
goodness!”
Taylor
said
as
she
closed
the
gate
and
secured
the
land.
She
turned
to
look
at
the
flower
garden.
Most
of
the
daisies
were
either
eaten
or
ruined.
Mama
came
out
of
the
house.
“What’s
going
on?”
She
asked.
She
looked
sadly
at
her
garden.
“I
forgot
to
lock
the
gate,”
Taylor
said.
I’m
so
sorry.”“I
know
you
are.”
Mama
sighed
and
gave
Taylor
a
hug.
“You
learned
an
important
lesson
today.”
Taylor’s
heart
was
heavy
as
she
went
back
into
the
house.
She
had
to
think
of
a
way
to
make
it
up
to
her
mother.
A
painting
on
the
wall
caught
Taylor’s
eye.
“That’s
it.”
She
smiled.

5.阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
When
I
worked
as
a
nurse,
I
was
on
day
duty
and
while
my
friends
were
on
night
duty.
On
one
shift,
I
remember
I
sensed
something
just
before
going
off
duty
at
11am.
I
had
brought
the
ward
sister
her
morning
tea,
so
I
put
down
the
tea
tray.
The
tray
rattled
and
fell
through
the
window.
At
first
I
thought
I
had
accidentally
knocked
it
over,
but
then
I
felt
the
whole
building
shook
and
patients
screamed.
I
realized
that
we
were
in
the
grips
of
a
tremendous
earthquake.
I
caught
hold
of
a
nearby
patient,
who
was
terribly
frightened
by
it.
I
pushed
her
under
the
bed
and
held
the
bed
in
place
while
I
got
under
it
myself.
I
then
pulled
a
blanket
down
between
us.
As
soon
as
it
settled,
I
decided
to
try
and
get
the
patient
safely
outside,
I
carried
her
out
and
helped
her
down
to
the
lawn,
where
several
other
people
now
had
gathered.
I
knew
the
ward
sister
was
with
another
patient,
so
I
went
back
inside
the
building.
When
I
reached
the
ward
sister,
I
found
her
patient
couldn’t
walk.
We
made
a
seat
for
her
by
linking
our
hands
and
arms,
and
carried
her
outside
together.
We
went
back
through
the
building
to
check
no
one
was
left
behind.
Almost
all
of
the
patients
had
been
able
to
get
themselves
out
of
our
ward,
as
far
as
I
knew.
Once
our
ward
was
cleared,
a
doctor
called
for
volunteers
to
go
down
to
the
isolation
ward
with
him
to
help
more
people.
Another
nurse
and
I
went
down
there.
The
first
thing
we
saw
was
a
bath
in
the
hallway,
We
came
to
the
ruined
ward.
The
doctor
went
in
ahead
of
us
through
the
remains
of
what
had
been
a
doorway.
He
found
one
of
the
nurses
partially
covered
with
rubble
(碎石).
She
was
still
alive
so
we
began
to
clear
the
rubble
away.
Suddenly
the
aftershock
struck.
The
doctor
ordered
us
to
leave.
This
brave
man
intended
to
stay
with
the
trapped
nurse
and
risk
his
own
life.

with

6.阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
Eric
threw
himself
on
the
sofa,
sighing.
Mother's
Day
was
approaching,
but
he
didn't
have
a
present.
“How
can
I
buy
a
present
without
any
money?”
he
thought.
Eric
picked
up
the
newspaper
that
was
lying
on
the
couch.
He
noticed
a
large
advertisement
on
the
front
page.
The
local
department
store
was
sponsoring
a
contest
(比赛).
"Tell
us
why
your
mom
is
special
and
win
a
shopping
spree
(疯狂购物)
for
her,"
said
the
advertisement.
"This
is
perfect!"
thought
Eric.
He
ran
to
his
room
with
the
newspaper.
Taking
a
pencil
and
a
blank
piece
of
paper
from
his
desk,
he
started
to
write.
"My
mom
is
the
best
mother
in
the
world.
She
always
makes
lunch
for
me
to
take
to
school,
and
she
never
forgets
my
dessert.
She
reads
as
many
books
to
me
before
bed
as
I
want.
She
always
remembers
to
check
under
the
bed
for
monsters.
And
she
gives
me
the
best
hug,
but
never
in
front
of
my
friends,
who
would
laugh
at
me
for
hugging
my
mom."
Eric
liked
what
he
had
written.
He
copied
it
neatly
and
got
an
envelope
and
a
stamp
from
his
bed.
He
ran
to
the
mailbox
with
his
entry
(参赛作品)
.
"Mom
will
love
having
a
shopping
spree,"
he
thought.
Eric
checked
the
mailbox
every
day
for
his
prize.
Days
went
by,
and
then
weeks.
Soon
it
was
the
day
before
Mother's
Day.
Eric
still
hadn't
heard
anything
about
the
contest.
"What
am
I
going
to
do
now?"
he
wondered.
He
didn't
have
a
present,
and
he
didn't
have
a
shopping
spree.
And
he
still
didn't
have
money.
He
had
to
think
of
something.
Eric
closed
his
eyes
and
curled
his
toes
and
thought
hard.

Ralphie
was
getting
bored
in
his

class.
Mr.
Hudson

of
Europe
up

and
asked
someone
to

they

"I'll

said
Ralphie,

he

It

Mira

so
he
started
to
cheer
up.
He
had
done
his
homework,
so
when
Mrs.
Addison
asked
for
a
student
to
solve
a
problem
at
the
blackboard,
Ralphie
didn't
hesitate.
He
jumped
out
of
his
seat
and
announced
in
a
loud
voice,
"I
volunteer
as
Tribute!
"
His
friends
burst
out
laughing.
Mrs.
Addison
looked
at
him
strictly
over
the
tops
of
her
glasses.
Uh-oh,
thought
Ralphie.
"We
do
not
yell
in
math
class,
Ralph.
Not
another
sound
out
of
you,
young
man.
"
She
turned
back
to
the
board.
"It's
from
The
Hunger
Games
…"
he
tried
to
explain.
"That's
quite
enough!
Detention,
Ralph.
"
The
math
teacher
reached
for
her
pile
of
detention
paper
and
wrote
his
name
down.
"After
school.
Don't
be
late.
"
"Oh
man,
"
murmured
Ralphie.
"How
do
I
go
to
two
detentions
at
the
same
time?
"
When
the
bell
rang
at
the
end
of
the
day,
Ralphie
went
to
see
Mr.
Hudson
first.
The
teacher
told
Ralphie
to
sit
down.
The
boy
did
so,
and
folded
his
hands
in
his
lap
for
a
minute
or
two.
Then
he
raised
one
and
said,
"Sir?
Can
I
be
excused
to
go
to
the
washroom?
"
Mr.
Hudson
nodded.

It
was
dark
and
gloomy
as
the
dark
night
swallowed
the
dense
forest.
The
clear,
starry
skies
in
the
backdrop
(背景)
made
for
a
fitting
view
as
the
young
koala
bear
made
his
way
home
along
the
river.
It
was
his
first
day
out
to
search
for
food.
He
remembered
every
word
that
his
mom
said
to
him
as
he
made
his
way
back.
But
the
words,
“be
back
before
dark,”
were
haunting
(萦绕)
him
the
most.
But
the
little
bear
lost
track
of
time
as
the
sun
started
to
move
towards
the
horizons.
The
darkness
had
changed
all
that.
His
only
guiding
light
was
the
shining
north
star
in
the
sky,
another
advice
from
his
mother
which
he
refused
to
forget.
Suddenly,
the
north
star
disappeared.
It
seemed
it
was
swallowed
in
the
same
blackness
which
had
taken
over
the
jungle.
But
there
was
light,
a
raging
light
which
seemed
different
to
the
little
koala.
It
couldn’t
be
the
sun,
he
thought.
It
seemed
it
was
getting
nearer.
The
little
bear
stopped
dead
in
his
tracks.
This
didn’t
seem
right.
Suddenly,
a
heat
wave
hit
him
in
the
face
as
he
was
surrounded
by
flames.
Battered
and
bruised
(遍体鳞伤),
the
koala
ran
away
from
the
flames.
He
could
feel
the
fire
chasing
him,
as
the
heat
got
stronger.
He
felt
it
creeping
up
his
back
almost
reaching
his
fluffy
ears.
He
was
scared
to
death.
He
longed
to
be
home
with
his
mom,
away
from
this
disorder.
However,
he
was
panicking,
not
knowing
what
to
do.
The
heat
was
getting
unbearable.
He
saw
a
hollow
tree
trunk
in
the
distance.
The
little
bear
dived
into
it,
hoping
to
find
some
relief
from
the
flames.
But
the
unforgiving
flames
made
him
realize
his
mistake
almost
immediately.
The
poor
soul
looked
on
as
the
flames
started
to
eat
away
at
the
trunk.
The
dryness
made
it
all
the
more
delicious
for
this
fire
monster
to
feast
on
the
dead
tree.
The
heat
had
made
the
little
bear
exhausted.
He
used
the
last
bit
of
energy
which
he
had
left
to
run
from
the
trunk,
escaping
from
the
flames.

9.阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
I
am
a
proud
mother
of
three
children,
my
last
little
one
being
delivered
in
the
middle
of
this
difficult
period
caused
by
COVID-19.
She
was
born
in
August
and
her
name
is
Ada.
Shortly
after
having
Ada,
my
mother-in-law
Ann
showed
me
something
she
learned
in
an
art
class
she
attended
weekly.
She
showed
me
how
to
knit
(编织)
a
scarf.
She
patiently
taught
me
how
to
use
the
stitches
(针)
and
gave
me
her
half
done
project.
I
spent
a
lot
of
time
attending
to
my
sweet
little
girl,
but
I
still
had
some
extra
time
to
do
something
with
my
hands
throughout
the
day.
I
enjoyed
making
the
scarf
so
I
purchased
tons
of
yarn
(线)
since
it
was
winter.
I
wanted
to
make
scarves
for
my
three
children
as
Christmas
gifts.
There
was
a
new
family
that
moved
in
down
the
street.
The
only
daughter
of
the
family
was
Jane,
a
shy
girl,
aged
14,
the
same
age
of
my
oldest
son
David.
It
seemed
that
she
came
from
a
financially
disadvantaged
family,
for
she
always
wore
old
clothes.
Worse
still,
in
such
freezing
days,
she
had
no
more
clothes
to
wear
and
trembled
with
cold.
Due
to
the
disease,
the
society
was
thrown
into
crisis
mode.
Schools
were
closed,
food
supplies
and
deliveries
were
called
off
and
children
were
stuck
at
home.
In
such
discouraging
times,
however,
they
became
good
companions,
talking
and
playing
at
home
or
around
the
houses
happily.
It
was
dreadfully
cold
this
winter.
Every
time
David
came
back
from
outside,
with
red
face,
he
always
cried,
“Mum,
it
is
freezing
outside!”
Then,
he
came
over
to
see
whether
I
had
finished
the
scarf.
I
could
tell
how
impatient
he
was
to
wear
my
scarf
sooner!
I
had
to
speed
the
project
to
satisfy
his
expectation.
But
David
comforted
me
saying
he
could
wait
for
a
few
days.
What
a
kind
and
considerate
boy
he
was!
Then
my
great
art
project
was
finally
accomplished
on
the
morning
ahead
of
Christmas.

10.阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
John
was
waiting
for
the
girl
whose
heart
he
knew,
but
whose
face
he
didn’t.
Thirteen
months
ago,
in
a
Florida
library
he
took
a
book
randomly
off
the
shelf
and
took
great
interest
in
the
notes
in
the
margin
(页边空白).
The
further
he
read,
the
more
intrigued
(着迷)
he
was
by
the
notes.
The
soft
handwriting
reflected
a
thoughtful
soul
and
insightful
and
profound
mind.
John
couldn’t
help
picturing
in
his
mind
what
kind
of
people
the
owner
would
be.
In
front
of
the
book,
he
discovered
the
previous
owner’s
name,
Miss
Hollis
Maynell.
With
extreme
delight,
he
couldn’t
contain
his
curiosity
and
spared
a
lot
of
time
and
effort
to
locate
her
address.
Eventually
and
fortunately,
all
the
efforts
paid
off,
He
wrote
her
a
letter
without
any
hesitation
introducing
himself
and
inviting
her
to
respond.
During
the
following
years
the
two
grew
to
know
each
other
through
the
mail,
exchanging
ideas
covering
all
aspects
ranging
from
classic
works
to
current
events,
which
brightened
each
other’s
life
handsomely.
John
once
requested
a
photograph,
but
she
refused.
She
felt
that
if
he
really
cared,
it
wouldn’t
matter
what
she
looked
like.
Later
they
scheduled
their
first
meeting--7:
00
pm
at
Grand
Central
Station
in
New
York.
“You’ll
recognize
me,”
she
wrote,
“by
the
red
rose
I’ll
be
wearing
on
my
lapel
(翻领).”
So
at
7:
00
he
was
in
the
station
looking
for
the
girl
with
the
red
rose.
A
girl
in
a
green
suit
was
coming
toward
him,
and
she
has
black
hair
pulled
tightly
into
a
knot
at
the
back
of
her
head,
her
figure
long
and
slim
and
her
eyes
amazingly
charming
blue,
which
quickened
his
heartbeat.
Almost
uncontrollably
he
made
one
step
closer
to
her,
with
a
strong
voice
yelling
at
the
bottom
of
his
heart
but
didn’t
spot
the
red
rose
on
her
lapel.
It
was
just
at
this
moment
that
he
saw
Hollis
Maynell---a
woman
well
past
40,
with
a
bright-colored
rose
on
her
coat.
The
girl
was
walking
quickly
away.

答案版
1.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
During
this
past
year,
I’ve
had
three
instances
of
car
trouble.
Each
time
these
things
happened,
I
was
sick
of
the
way
most
people
hadn’t
bothered
to
help.
One
of
those
times,
I
was
on
the
side
of
the
road
for
close
to
three
hours
with
my
big
Jeep.
I
put
signs
in
the
windows,
big
signs
that
said
NEED
A
JACK
(千斤顶),
and
offered
money.
Nothing.
Right
as
I
was
about
to
give
up,
a
Mexican
family
in
a
small
truck
pulled
over,
and
the
father
bounded
out.
He
sized
up
the
situation
and
called
for
his
daughter,
who
spoke
English.
He
conveyed
through
her
that
he
had
a
jack
but
that
it
was
too
small
for
the
Jeep,
so
we
would
need
something
to
support
it.
Then
he
got
a
saw
(锯子)
from
the
truck
and
cut
a
section
out
of
a
big
log(圆木)on
the
side
of
the
road.
We
rolled
it
over
and
put
his
jack
on
top,
and
we
were
in
business.
I
started
taking
the
wheel
off,
and
then,
if
you
can
believe
it,
I
broke
his
tire
iron(拆轮胎的扳手).
No
worries:
He
handed
it
to
his
wife,
and
she
was
gone
in
a
flash
down
the
road
to
buy
a
new
tire
iron.
She
was
back
in
15
minutes.
We
finished
the
job,
and
I
was
a
very
happy
man.
The
two
of
us
were
dirty
and
sweaty.
His
wife
prepared
a
pot
of
water
for
us
to
wash
our
hands.
I
tried
to
put
a
$20
bill
in
the
man’s
hand,
but
he
wouldn’t
take
it,
so
instead
I
went
up
to
the
truck
and
gave
it
to
his
wife
as
quietly
as
I
could.
I
asked
the
little
girl
where
they
lived.
Mexico,
she
said.
They
were
in
Oregon
so
Mommy
and
Daddy
could
work
on
a
fruit
farm
for
the
next
few
weeks.
Then
they
would
go
home.

【答案】When
I
was
about
to
say
goodbye,
the
girl
asked
if
I'd
had
lunch.
I
told
her
I
hadn't
had
lunch
because
I'd
been
waiting
here
for
help
for
nearly
three
hours.
The
girl
said
they
didn't
have
lunch
either.
She
suggested
to
her
parents
that
we
have
lunch
together.
Their
truck
happened
to
have
some
food
and
some
things
for
the
picnic.
So
we
ate
together
in
a
vacant
lot
by
the
side
of
the
road.
During
that
time,
I
told
about
what
had
happened
to
me
and
how
I
felt.
They
shared
interesting
stories
about
their
lives
in
Mexico
and
on
fruit
farms.
After
lunch,
the
girl's
mother
put
a
paper
bag
of
fruit
in
my
jeep.
I
showed
my
gratitude
again
and
we
said
goodbye
to
each
other.
After
they
left,
I
got
into
my
jeep
and
opened
the
paper
bag.
There
are
some
delicate
fruits
in
the
paper
bag.
I
was
surprised
to
find
the
money
I
had
quietly
left
them.
At
the
same
time,
there
was
a
note
written
by
the
girl,
which
read
“We
are
very
happy
to
be
able
to
help
you.
We
have
encountered
many
difficulties
and
been
disappointed.
But
we
met
a
lot
of
helpful
people,
which
made
us
feel
very
warm.
To
help
others
with
one's
own
ability
is
also
a
kind
of
lifting
a
finger.
The
beauty
of
life
comes
from
these
lifting
a
finger.
I
hope
you
have
a
good
life
and
a
happy
mood.

This
made
me
very
moved,
and
I
would
try
my
best
to
help
more
people
in
the
future
to
make
our
world
more
beautiful
and
warmer.

2.阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
At
first,
Michael
Surrell
didn’t
see
the
black
smoke
or
flames
shooting
from
the
windows
of
his
neighbors’
home.
He
and
his
wife
had
just
parked
around
the
comer
from
their
own
house
when
they
got
a
call
from
one
of
his
daughters:
“The
house
next
door
is
on
fire!”
He
went
to
investigate.
That’s
when
he
saw
two
women
and
a
girl
screaming
on
the
porch
(门廊).
“The
baby’s
in
there!”
one
of
the
women
cried.
Though
the
fire
department
had
been
called,
Surrell,
then
64,
immediately
ran
inside.
“The
baby”
was
8-year-old
Tiara
Roberts,
the
woman’s
granddaughter
and
a
playmate
of
Surrell’s
three
youngest
kids.
Entering
the
burning
house
was
like
running
into
a
bucket
of
black
paint.
The
thick
smoke
caused
Surrell
to
stumble
blindly
around,
burned
his
eyes,
and
made
it
impossible
for
him
to
breathe.
The
conditions
would
have
been
dangerous
for
anyone,
but
for
Surrell,
who
has
chronic
obstructive
pulmonary
disease
(慢性阻塞性肺病),
they
were
life-threatening.
After
a
few
minutes
in
the
smoke-filled
house,
he
went
outside
to
catch
his
breath.
“Where
is
Tiara?”
he
asked
desperately.
“The
second
floor,”
her
aunt
shouted
back.
Surrell
knew
he
couldn’t
hold
his
breath
for
long.
Taking
a
deep
breath,
he
went
in
a
second
time.
The
darkness
was
overwhelming.
Yet
because
the
house
had
a
similar
layout
(布局)
to
his,
he
found
the
stairs
and
made
it
to
the
second
floor.
He
turned
to
the
right
and
was
met
by
intense
heat.
He
was
already
out
of
breath.
“Baby
girl,
where
are
you?”
His
throat
and
lungs
burned
as
if
he’d
breathed
in
fire
instead
of
the
smoke
in
the
air.
Every
blink
stung
(使疼痛)
his
eyes.
All
he
could
hear
was
the
cracking
and
popping
of
burning
wood.
Then
a
soft
moan
emerged.
Still
unable
to
see,
Surrell
fell
to
his
knees
on
the
hot
wood
floor.
He
crawled
toward
the
sound,
feeling
around
for
any
sign
of
the
girl.
A
terrible
thought
crossed
his
mind:
I’m
probably
gonna
die
up
here.

One
day,
my
brother
and
I
were
alone
in
our
apartment.
The
reason
was
that
my
parents
had
both
gone
for
a
ball
party
and
had
left
me
in
charge
of
everything.1
was
doing
my
homework
while
my
younger
brother
was
watching
TV.
All
of
a
sudden,
the
doorbell
rang.
Ding
Dong!
Ding
Dong!
My
younger
brother
had
rushed
to
the
door
before
I
decided
to
answer
the
door.
We
both
thought
that
our
parents
had
come
home.
As
a
result,
he
unlocked
the
door
and
opened
it.
Outside
of
the
house
stood
a
man
who
wore
a
black
raincoat
and
black
rubber
boots.
He
looked
no
different
from
other
people
and
he
said
that
he
was
a
salesman
and
asked
politely
if
our
mother
or
father
was
at
home
so
he
could
talk
with
them.
Without
any
thinking,
my
brother
said,
“No.”
He
asked
if
we
would
like
to
buy
some
comic
books,
which
he
was
selling.
I
quickly
explained
to
him
that
we
were
not
supposed
to
buy
anything
without
our
parents’
permission.
However,
it
seemed
that
he
was
not
willing
to
follow
my
advice
and
he
had
an
intention
to
enter
our
house.
Then,
I
realized
something
terrible
would
happen.
As
I
was
about
to
close
the
door,
he
forced
his
way
into
our
house.
He
took
out
a
knife
and
forced
me
to
tie
up
my
brother’s
hands
with
some
rope
which
he
took
out
from
his
pocket.
I
tied
up
my
brother’s
hands
but
I
tied
it
in
a
special
way
so
he
could
untie
himself
as
we
often
did.
The
man
then
tied
my
hands
up
and
locked
both
of
us
in
the
kitchen.
Soon,
he
went
upstairs
to
search
the
bedroom
for
something
valuable.
I
managed
to
teach
my
brother
to
untie
the
rope
on
his
hands.
He
then
untied
me.
I
rushed
to
the
telephone
to
call
the
police,
but
line
was
dead.

4.阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
Taylor
opened
her
sleepy
eyes
and
looked
out
of
the
window
at
the
foggy
field
below.
“NO!”
she
cried,
now
fully
awake.
Buttermilk
the
cow
was
on
Mama’s
daisy
land.
I
must
have
forgotten
to
lock
the
gate
last
night,
Taylor
thought
as
she
pulled
a
sweatshirt
over
her
head.
Mama
was
planning
to
sell
daisy
bouquets(花束)
at
the
fair
next
week.
But
Buttermilk
was
eating
the
flowers.
Taylor
hurried
outside
and
grabbed
the
lead
rope
hanging
on
the
porch.
“Why
can’t
you
stay
in
the
field?”
she
called
to
Buttermilk
as
she
headed
across
the
yard
to
the
daisy
land.
Without
even
looking
up
at
her,
Buttermilk
stood
nipping(啃咬)
tender
flowers
off
their
stems(茎).
“When
I
grow
up,
I’ll
be
an
artist
and
paint
pictures
all
day,”
Taylor
thought.
“I’ll
never
own
a
cow.
Too
much
trouble.”
Just
as
Taylor
was
about
to
snap(扣住)
the
lead
rope
onto
Buttermilk’s
collar,
the
family
dog,
Red,
rounded
the
corner
of
the
house.
The
cow
couldn’t
stand
Red.
Buttermilk
took
off,
tearing
through
the
daisies
across
the
yard.
She
finally
ran
through
the
open
gate
and
into
the
field.
“Thank
goodness!”
Taylor
said
as
she
closed
the
gate
and
secured
the
land.
She
turned
to
look
at
the
flower
garden.
Most
of
the
daisies
were
either
eaten
or
ruined.
Mama
came
out
of
the
house.
“What’s
going
on?”
She
asked.
She
looked
sadly
at
her
garden.
“I
forgot
to
lock
the
gate,”
Taylor
said.
I’m
so
sorry.”“I
know
you
are.”
Mama
sighed
and
gave
Taylor
a
hug.
“You
learned
an
important
lesson
today.”
Taylor’s
heart
was
heavy
as
she
went
back
into
the
house.
She
had
to
think
of
a
way
to
make
it
up
to
her
mother.
A
painting
on
the
wall
caught
Taylor’s
eye.
“That’s
it.”
She
smiled.

Mama
smiled.

5.阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
When
I
worked
as
a
nurse,
I
was
on
day
duty
and
while
my
friends
were
on
night
duty.
On
one
shift,
I
remember
I
sensed
something
just
before
going
off
duty
at
11am.
I
had
brought
the
ward
sister
her
morning
tea,
so
I
put
down
the
tea
tray.
The
tray
rattled
and
fell
through
the
window.
At
first
I
thought
I
had
accidentally
knocked
it
over,
but
then
I
felt
the
whole
building
shook
and
patients
screamed.
I
realized
that
we
were
in
the
grips
of
a
tremendous
earthquake.
I
caught
hold
of
a
nearby
patient,
who
was
terribly
frightened
by
it.
I
pushed
her
under
the
bed
and
held
the
bed
in
place
while
I
got
under
it
myself.
I
then
pulled
a
blanket
down
between
us.
As
soon
as
it
settled,
I
decided
to
try
and
get
the
patient
safely
outside,
I
carried
her
out
and
helped
her
down
to
the
lawn,
where
several
other
people
now
had
gathered.
I
knew
the
ward
sister
was
with
another
patient,
so
I
went
back
inside
the
building.
When
I
reached
the
ward
sister,
I
found
her
patient
couldn’t
walk.
We
made
a
seat
for
her
by
linking
our
hands
and
arms,
and
carried
her
outside
together.
We
went
back
through
the
building
to
check
no
one
was
left
behind.
Almost
all
of
the
patients
had
been
able
to
get
themselves
out
of
our
ward,
as
far
as
I
knew.
Once
our
ward
was
cleared,
a
doctor
called
for
volunteers
to
go
down
to
the
isolation
ward
with
him
to
help
more
people.
Another
nurse
and
I
went
down
there.
The
first
thing
we
saw
was
a
bath
in
the
hallway,
We
came
to
the
ruined
ward.
The
doctor
went
in
ahead
of
us
through
the
remains
of
what
had
been
a
doorway.
He
found
one
of
the
nurses
partially
covered
with
rubble
(碎石).
She
was
still
alive
so
we
began
to
clear
the
rubble
away.
Suddenly
the
aftershock
struck.
The
doctor
ordered
us
to
leave.
This
brave
man
intended
to
stay
with
the
trapped
nurse
and
risk
his
own
life.

Taking
a

and
a
blank
piece
of
paper
from
his

he

to
write.
"My

liked

He
copied

he

And
he

"Oh

Ralphie.

It

the
dark
night

the
dense
forest.
The
clear,
starry
skies
in
the

(背景)
made
for
a
fitting
view
as
the
young

bear
made

It
was
his

He

But
the

him

But
the
little

The
darkness
had
changed
all
that.
His

in
the
sky,
another
advice
from
his
mother
which
he
refused
to

Suddenly,
the
north
star
disappeared.
It
seemed
it
was
swallowed
in
the
same
blackness
which
had
taken
over
the
jungle.
But
there
was
light,
a
raging
light
which
seemed
different
to
the
little
koala.
It
couldn’t
be
the
sun,
he
thought.
It
seemed
it
was
getting
nearer.
The
little
bear
stopped
dead
in
his
tracks.
This
didn’t
seem
right.
Suddenly,
a
heat
wave
hit
him
in
the
face
as
he
was
surrounded
by
flames.
Battered
and
bruised
(遍体鳞伤),
the
koala
ran
away
from
the
flames.
He
could
feel
the
fire
chasing
him,
as
the
heat
got
stronger.
He
felt
it
creeping
up
his
back
almost
reaching
his
fluffy
ears.
He
was
scared
to
death.
He
longed
to
be
home
with
his
mom,
away
from
this
disorder.
However,
he
was
panicking,
not
knowing
what
to
do.
The
heat
was
getting
unbearable.
He
saw
a
hollow
tree
trunk
in
the
distance.
The
little
bear
dived
into
it,
hoping
to
find
some
relief
from
the
flames.
But
the
unforgiving
flames
made
him
realize
his
mistake
almost
immediately.
The
poor

looked

the
flames
started
to
eat
away
at
the
trunk.
The
dryness
made
it
all
the
more
delicious
for
this
fire
monster
to
feast
on
the
dead
tree.
The
heat
had
made
the
little
bear
exhausted.
He
used
the
last
bit
of
energy
which
he
had
left
to
run
from
the

escaping
from
the

Relieved,

The

they

the
thought

safe
on

gave
the
family
peace
of

as
they
both
started
walking
towards

What
