Twenty-five
young
musicians
from
around
the
world
have
come
to
California
to
train
and
perform
this
month.
They
will
take
part
in
an
international
program
called
iPalpiti.
The
name
comes
from
the
Italian
word
for
heartbeats.
Eduard
Schmieder
is
the
program’s
conductor
and
musical
director,
Schmieder
and
his
wife
started
the
program
in
1997
with
help
from
violinist
and
conductor
Yehudi
Menuhin.
This
year,
the
musicians
come
from
19
countries,
including
Azerbaijan,
Kazakhstan,
Israel
and
Italy.
Schmieder
notes
some
of
the
musicians
are
from
countries
that
are
at
war
with
each
other.
And
they
are
sitting
next
to
each
other,
and
they
become
friends.
He
says
through
their
music
and
friendship,
they
are
making
the
world
more
peaceful.
The
musicians
taking
part
in
the
program
range
in
age
from
their
late
teens
to
their
30s.
Schmieder
says
they
include
winners
of
major
music
competitions.
Peter
Rainer
is
a
violin
player
from
Germany.
He
serves
as
concertmaster,
the
link
between
the
musicians
and
conductor.
“It’s
so
great
that
you
have
so
many
sensitive
musicians.
They
all
are
very
alert
and
awake
and
listen
to
each
other
and
it’s
a
lot
of
fun.

Turkish
viola
player
Can
Sakul
says
the
international
group
works
well
together.
“The
experience
is
a
cultural
as
well
as
a
musical
exchange,

says
Russian
violinist
Semyon
Promoe.
“Everyone
has
their
own
opinion
of
music,
how
to
play
every
composition.
It’s
very
interesting
to
interact
with
everybody,
to
play
together
and
to
create
one
opinion
for
everybody.

This
year,
the
festival
focuses
on
music
from
the
1600s
to
the
1900s.
But
cello
player
Franciaco
Vila
of
Ecuador
says
the
music
has
no
geographic
boundaries.
Vila
adds
that
the
musicians
get
to
know
more
about
each
other
as
they
perform
great
music.
“It’s
interesting
to
see
where
we
intersect(交集),
how
many
things
we
have
in
common.
And
also
the
music
world
is
quite
small,
so
you’re
only
one
person
away
from
knowing
everyone
else.

Can
Sakul
says
the
musicians
who
have
taken
part
in
the
training
and
festival
make
up
a
big
family.
He
adds
that
he
is
proud
to
be
a
part
of
it.

that
“Schmieder
notes
some

The
kids
in
this
village
wear
dirty,
ragged
clothes.
They
sleep
beside
cows
and
sheep
in
huts
made
of
sticks
and
mud.
They
have
no
school.
Yet
they
all
can
chant
the
English
alphabet,
and
some
can
make
words.
The
key
to
their
success:
20
tablet
computers(平板电脑)
dropped
off
in
their
Ethiopian
village
in
February
by
a
U.
S.
group
called
One
Laptop
Per
Child.
The
goal
is
to
find
out
whether
kids
using
today’s
new
technology
can
teach
themselves
to
read
in
places
where
no
schools
or
teachers
exist.
The
Massachusetts
Institute
of
Technology
researchers
analyzing
the
project
data
say
they’re
already
amazed.
“What
I
think
has
already
happened
is
that
the
kids
have
already
learned
more
than
they
would
have
in
one
year
of
kindergarten,

said
Matt
Keller,
who
runs
the
Ethiopia
program.
The
fastest
learner—and
the
first
to
turn
on
one
of
the
tablets—is
8-year-old
Kelbesa
Negusse.
The
device’s
camera
was
disabled
to
save
memory,
yet
within
weeks
Kelbesa
had
figured
out
its
workings
and
made
the
camera
work.
He
called
himself
a
lion,
a
marker
of
accomplishment
in
Ethiopia.
With
his
tablet,
Kelbesa
rearranged
the
letters
HSROE
into
one
of
the
many
English
animal
names
he
knows.
Then
he
spelled
words
on
his
own.
“Seven
months
ago
he
didn’t
know
any
English.
That’s
unbelievable,

said
Keller.
The
project
aims
to
get
kids
to
a
stage
called
“deep
reading”,
where
they
can
read
to
learn.
It
won’t
be
in
Amharic,
Ethiopia’s
first
language,
but
in
English,
which
is
widely
seen
as
the
ticket
to
higher
paying
jobs.
28.
How
does
the
Ethiopia
program
benefit
the
kids
in
the
village?
A.
It
trains
teachers
for
them.
B.
It
contributes
to
their
self-study.
C.
It
helps
raise
their
living
standards.
D.
It
provides
funds
for
building
schools.
29.
What
can
we
infer
from
Keller’s
words
in
Paragraph
3?
A.
They
need
more
time
to
analyze
data.
B.
More
children
are
needed
for
the
research.
C.
He
is
confident
about
the
future
of
the
project.
D.
The
research
should
be
carried
out
in
kindergartens.
30.
It
amazed
Keller
that
with
the
tablet
Kelbesa
could
______.
?
A.
learn
English
words
quickly
B.
draw
pictures
of
animals
C.
write
letters
to
researchers
D.
make
phone
calls
to
his
friends
31.
What
is
the
aim
of
the
project?
A.
To
offer
Ethiopians
higher
paying
jobs.
B.
To
make
Amharic
widely
used
in
the
world.
C.
To
help
Ethiopian
kids
read
to
learn
in
English.
D.
To
assist
Ethiopians
in
learning
their
first
language.

Most
scientists
are
now
certain
that
global
warming
is
taking
place.
Gases
such
as
carbon
dioxide
are
creating
a
warm
blanket
around
the
earth.
This
blanket
is
trapping
heat
in
the
atmosphere,
and
so
raising
the
temperature
of
the
earth.
In
Europe,
eight
of
the
last
ten
years
have
seen
record
high
temperatures.
On
the
other
hand,
the
countries
around
the
Mediterranean
Sea
are
receiving
even
less
rain
than
before.
In
Sub-Saharan
Africa
the
crops
are
drying
out
in
the
fields
and
people
are
dying
of
starvation.
In
1999,
the
southern
United
States
was
struck
by
a
serious
of
destructive(毁灭性的)
hurricanes.
Scientists
expect
such
trends
to
continue,
and
to
worsen,
if
global
warming
cannot
be
stopped.
In
addition
to
worrying
about
rising
global
temperatures
and
extreme
weather
conditions,
scientists
are
closely
monitoring
sea
levels
around
the
world.
They
are
slowly
rising,
as
the
northern
and
southern
polar
ice
caps
start
to
melt.
This
will
have
serious
consequences
for
low-lying
countries
near
the
sea.
Already
parts
of
these
places
are
disappearing
under
the
rising
sea
water.
According
to
a
new
research,
one
contradictory
feature(特征)
of
global
warming
is
that
it
will
probably
lead
to
a
period
of
much
colder
weather.
Scientists
base
their
theory
on
what
happened
the
last
time
the
world
warmed
up,
8,
300
years
ago.
They
have
discovered
that
when
the
ice
melted
from
the
northern
polar
ice
cap,
it
became
trapped
in
a
lake
in
northern
Canada.
As
more
ice
melted,
this
lake
suddenly
burst
open,
pouring
millions
of
tons
of
freezing
fresh
water
into
the
North
Atlantic.
This
flood
of
water
prevented
the
normal
flow
of
water
in
the
Atlantic,
which
takes
warm
water
from
the
tropics(热带地区)
north
to
Europe.
When
this
flow
of
warm
water
was
cut
off,
temperatures
in
Europe
dropped
by
between
three
and
eight
degrees
over
the
next
200
years.
“That’s
the
concern
here,

says
Richard
Alley,
an
American
climate
expert.
“The
climate
hasn’t
varied
much
in
8,
000
years.
But
big
changes
could
come
back!

32.
What
is
the
overall
effect
of
global
warming
on
Europe?
A.
A
warmer
climate.
B.
A
decline
in
rainfall.
C.
An
increase
of
hurricanes.
D.
A
decrease
of
crop
production.
33.
What
is
Paragraph
3
mainly
about?
A.
The
rising
sea
level.
B.
The
melting
of
icebergs.
C.
The
increase
in
disasters.
D.
The
cause
of
global
warming.
34.
How
does
the
author
describe
the
climate
change
in
Europe
8,
300
years
ago?
A.
By
offering
statistics.
B.
By
giving
an
example.
C.
By
making
comparisons.
D.
By
analyzing
the
process.
35.
What
can
we
infer
from
Richard
Alley’s
words?
A.
Global
climate
change
will
bring
more
disasters.
B.
Global
warming
will
likely
produce
a
colder
climate.
C.
Global
warming
will
continue
for
the
next
two
centuries.
D.
Global
climate
will
remain
unchangeable
in
the
next
8,
000
years.

Life
is
filled
with
regrets.
 36
When
we
look
back,
we
always
wish
that
we
had
made
better
choices.
Then
what
can
we
do
to
avoid
future
regrets?
?
Make
better
plans.
If
you
start
to
do
something,
you
need
to
make
a
plan
before
doing
it.
The
earlier,
the
better.
 37
You’ll
also
know
what
you
should
do
and
what
you
shouldn’t
do.
?
 38 ?
You
can
go
around
more
often.
More
outdoor
activities
can
keep
you
relaxed
and
active.
You
also
need
to
be
kind.
“Thank
you”
can
bring
a
smile
to
someone’s
face.
Learn
to
say
“sorry”
and
don’t
be
angry
with
others.
Find
the
right
friend.
A
friend
may
make
your
life
and
can
break
your
life
as
well.
 39
Good
friends
will
always
better
your
ideas.
?
Never
fear
failure.
Everybody
fails.
Even
the
greatest
person
failed.
We
should
not
fear
failure,
because
failure
is
not
the
end
of
the
road.
 40 ?
Life
is
good.
We
don’t
have
to
live
in
our
past,
but
we
do
hope
that
we
can
plan
better,
live
better
and
work
better
when
we
have
the
chance
to
do
so.
A.
Live
a
more
active
life.
B.
Build
up
your
confidence.
C.
Almost
all
of
us
have
no
difficulty
telling
our
regrets.
D.
We
had
many
dreams
when
we
were
young
children.
E.
So
you
have
to
think
twice
when
you
choose
a
friend.
F.
You
will
know
what
comes
first
and
what
comes
last.
G.
We

improve
ourselves.

Two
men,

occupied
the
same

room.
One
man
was
allowed
to
sit
up
in
his
bed
for
an
hour
each
afternoon.
His

The

Every

he

the
window.
The
man
in
the

As
the

the

One

he

as
the

descriptive
words.
Days
and
weeks
passed.
One
morning,
the
nurse
arrived
to
bring
water
for
their
baths
only
to
find
the
lifeless
body
of
the
man
by
the
window,
who
had
died
peacefully
in
his
sleep.
She
was
saddened
and
called
the
hospital
attendants
to
take
the
body
away.
Later,
the
other
man
asked
if
he
could
be
moved
next
to
the
window.
The
nurse
was
happy
to
make
the
switch,
and
after
making
sure
he
was
comfortable,
she
left
him
alone.
Finally,
he

概要写作
  阅读下面短文,
根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
New
research
aimed
at
understanding
the
impact
of
screen
time
and
social
media
on
adolescent
brains
found
in
early
testing
significant
differences
in
brain
chemistry
for
kids
who
had
at
least
seven
hours
of
screen
time
a
day,
compared
to
kids
who
used
screens
less.
Psychologist
Lisa
Damour
explained
that
social
media
is
incredibly
appealing.
“We
know
it
triggers(触发)
the
reward
centers
in
the
brain.
And
this
is
true
for
grown-ups
too,
not
teenagers
and
kids,
”Damour
said
Monday.
“We
also
know
that
digital
technology
disturbs
things
that
are
important
for
healthy
development,
such
as
sleep,
one-on-one
interactions
that
are
face
to
face,
learning
how
to
focus
on
one’s
schoolwork,
physical
activity.
So
we
should
already
start
to
be
drawing
some
lines
around
digital
technology,
just
to
protect
normal
and
healthy
development.

Experts
suggest
avoiding
screen
time
other
than
video
chatting
for
children
younger
than
18
months.
For
children
between
2
to
5
years
old,
the
group
recommends
limiting
screen
time
to
one
hour
per
day
with
“high-quality
programs”.
While
experts
have
offered
a
variety
of
guidelines
for
screen
time,
Damour,
recommended
parents
should
start
from
considering
what
they’re
trying
to
protect.
“So
we’re
trying
to
protect
sleep.
We’re
trying
to
protect
family
time.
We’re
trying
to
protect
focus.
So
I
think
the
guidelines
should
flow
from
there,
”she
said.
“Children
need
a
lot
more
sleep
than
people
appreciate.
Elementary
school
children
need
11
hours
a
night,
middle
schoolers
need
10
hours
a
night.
High
schoolers
need
9
hours
a
night.
So
if
we
even
do
that,
that’s
a
good
guideline.

On
February
12,
Damour
is
releasing
her
latest
book,
Under
Pressure:
Confronting
the
Epidemic
of
Stress
and
Anxiety
in
Girls.
She
explained,
“When
high
schoolers
get
phones
that
disturb
their
sleep,
consequently
they
go
on
to
have
higher
rates
of
depression.
Social
media
is
just
one
element
of
the
‘broad
scope’
of
factors
parents
need
to
consider
that
may
be
causing
stress
and
anxiety
for
kids,

she
said.

M:
Well,
what
about
relaxing
after
exercise
then?
I
assume
you
have
a
restaurant
or
something.
W:
At
the
moment,
we’ve
got
a
salad
bar
which
is
very
popular.
M:
Sounds
good!
W:?What
kind
of
membership
are
you
interested
in?
M:
Um,
I’m
not
really
sure.
What
are
the
options?
W:
?Well,
the
first
one
is
called
Gold,
and
you
can
use
all
the
facilities
at
any
time.
You
can
also
join
in
as
many
classes
as
you
like
for
free.
M:
That
sounds
good.
Is
it
very
expensive?
W:
Well,
you
pay
a
£250
joining
fee
and
then
it’s
£450—oh
no,
I’m
sorry,
it’s
just
gone
up
by£50,
sorry
about
that—?it’s
now
£500
for
the
annual
subscription
fee.
M:
Right,
got
that.
And
what’s
the
next
type?
W:
Well,
?that’s
Silver—facilities
are
the
same
as
Gold
except
you
can
only
use
the
centre
at
certain
times.
M:
I
see.
So
when
exactly?
W:?You
can
only
use
the
facilities
between
10
am
and
4:
30
pm.
M:
OK.
And
the
price
for
that?
Is
the
joining
fee
the
same
as
for
Gold?
W:
Actually,
it’s
slightly
less
than
£250—it’s
£225,
but
the
annual
fee
is
only
£300.
Does
that
sound
more
like
what
you
want?
M:
Well,
it’s
still
more
expensive
than
I
thought.
You
know,
I’m
just
a
student.

Twenty-five
young
musicians
from
around
the
world
have
come
to
California
to
train
and
perform
this
month.
They
will
take
part
in
an
international
program
called
iPalpiti.
The
name
comes
from
the
Italian
word
for
heartbeats.
Eduard
Schmieder
is
the
program’s
conductor
and
musical
director,
Schmieder
and
his
wife
started
the
program
in
1997
with
help
from
violinist
and
conductor
Yehudi
Menuhin.
This
year,
the
musicians
come
from
19
countries,
including
Azerbaijan,
Kazakhstan,
Israel
and
Italy.
Schmieder
notes
some
of
the
musicians
are
from
countries
that
are
at
war
with
each
other.
And
they
are
sitting
next
to
each
other,
and
they
become
friends.
He
says
through
their
music
and
friendship,
they
are
making
the
world
more
peaceful.
The
musicians
taking
part
in
the
program
range
in
age
from
their
late
teens
to
their
30s.
Schmieder
says
they
include
winners
of
major
music
competitions.
Peter
Rainer
is
a
violin
player
from
Germany.
He
serves
as
concertmaster,
the
link
between
the
musicians
and
conductor.
“It’s
so
great
that
you
have
so
many
sensitive
musicians.
They
all
are
very
alert
and
awake
and
listen
to
each
other
and
it’s
a
lot
of
fun.

Turkish
viola
player
Can
Sakul
says
the
international
group
works
well
together.
“The
experience
is
a
cultural
as
well
as
a
musical
exchange,

says
Russian
violinist
Semyon
Promoe.
“Everyone
has
their
own
opinion
of
music,
how
to
play
every
composition.
It’s
very
interesting
to
interact
with
everybody,
to
play
together
and
to
create
one
opinion
for
everybody.

This
year,
the
festival
focuses
on
music
from
the
1600s
to
the
1900s.
But
cello
player
Franciaco
Vila
of
Ecuador
says
the
music
has
no
geographic
boundaries.
Vila
adds
that
the
musicians
get
to
know
more
about
each
other
as
they
perform
great
music.
“It’s
interesting
to
see
where
we
intersect(交集),
how
many
things
we
have
in
common.
And
also
the
music
world
is
quite
small,
so
you’re
only
one
person
away
from
knowing
everyone
else.

Can
Sakul
says
the
musicians
who
have
taken
part
in
the
training
and
festival
make
up
a
big
family.
He
adds
that
he
is
proud
to
be

Most
scientists
are
now
certain
that
global
warming
is
taking
place.
Gases
such
as
carbon
dioxide
are
creating
a
warm
blanket
around
the
earth.
This
blanket
is
trapping
heat
in
the
atmosphere,
and
so
raising
the
temperature
of
the
earth.
In
Europe,
eight
of
the
last
ten
years
have
seen
record
high
temperatures.
On
the
other
hand,
the
countries
around
the
Mediterranean
Sea
are
receiving
even
less
rain
than
before.
In
Sub-Saharan
Africa
the
crops
are
drying
out
in
the
fields
and
people
are
dying
of
starvation.
In
1999,
the
southern
United
States
was
struck
by
a
serious
of
destructive(毁灭性的)
hurricanes.
Scientists
expect
such
trends
to
continue,
and
to
worsen,
if
global
warming
cannot
be
stopped.
In
addition
to
worrying
about
rising
global
temperatures
and
extreme
weather
conditions,
scientists
are
closely
monitoring
sea
levels
around
the
world.
They
are
slowly
rising,
as
the
northern
and
southern
polar
ice
caps
start
to
melt.
This
will
have
serious
consequences
for
low-lying
countries
near
the
sea.
Already
parts
of
these
places
are
disappearing
under
the
rising
sea
water.
According
to
a
new
research,
one
contradictory
feature(特征)
of
global
warming
is
that
it
will
probably
lead
to
a
period
of
much
colder
weather.
Scientists
base
their
theory
on
what
happened
the
last
time
the
world
warmed
up,
8,
300
years
ago.
They
have
discovered
that
when
the
ice
melted
from
the
northern
polar
ice
cap,
it
became
trapped
in
a
lake
in
northern
Canada.
As
more
ice
melted,
this
lake
suddenly
burst
open,
pouring
millions
of
tons
of
freezing
fresh
water
into
the
North
Atlantic.
This
flood
of
water
prevented
the
normal
flow
of
water
in
the
Atlantic,
which
takes
warm
water
from
the
tropics(热带地区)
north
to
Europe.
When
this
flow
of
warm
water
was
cut
off,
temperatures
in
Europe
dropped
by
between
three
and
eight
degrees
over
the
next
200
years.
“That’s

【解析】选D。推理判断题。根据最后一段可知,
他们发现,
当冰从北极冰盖融化时,
它被困在加拿大北部的一个湖里。随着更多的冰融化,
这个湖突然裂开,
将数以百万吨冰冻淡水注入北大西洋。这洪水阻止了大西洋的正常水流,
这些正常的水流把温水从热带地区向北带到欧洲。当暖流被切断后,
欧洲的温度在接下来的200年里下降了3-8度。由此推测,
作者通过分析过程的方法,
陈述了8
300年前的那次气候变化。故选D。
35.

(全球变暖可能产生一个更冷的气候)符合以上推测,
故选B。

【分析】本文是一篇读后续写。
【详解】本篇书面表达是读后续写。通过阅读所给文章可知,
有两个同住一个病房的病友。其中一位睡在窗旁的病人会利用自己每天能坐起来的时间帮另外一个病人描述窗外的风景。有一天,
睡窗户旁边的病人过世了,
原先只能躺着的病人换到了窗户旁边的病床上。
续写部分分为两段,
第一段开头是:
慢慢地,
痛苦地,
他尽最大的努力向床边的窗外看。这一段要描写他努力往外看的时候,
却发现窗外只有一堵墙。他很不解为何之前的病人会花时间去描绘窗外的美景。于是他问了护士。第二段开头是:
这个人是盲人,
连墙都看不见。也许他只是想鼓励你。护士回答说。这段主要写听了护士的解释后,
他恍然大悟。原来人和人之间是可以通过分享悲伤让悲伤减半,
分享快乐让快乐加倍的。不管在什么情况下,
人与人之间还是要相互帮助的。
【点睛】文章思路清晰,
语言规范,
段落整齐,
语篇连贯,
层次清晰。使用了较为高级的句式:
