William
Hawking
(January
8,
1942
--
March
14,
2018),
born
in
Oxford,
England,
was
a
physicist
at
the
University
of
Cambridge.
He
was
one
of
the
greatest
physicists
of
the
modern
era
and
one
of
the
world's
greatest
men
of
the
20th
century.

1963,
at
the
age
of
21,
Hawking
developed
Lou
Gehrig's
disease,
or
Lou
Gehrig's
disease,
which
left
him
paralyzed,
unable
to
speak

in
his
hand.
He
was
lucasian
Professor
of
Mathematics
from
1979
to
2009.
His
research
interests
include
cosmology
and
black
holes.
He
proved
the
singularity
theorem
of
general
relativity
and
the
area
theorem
of
black
holes,
and
proposed
the
evaporation
theory
of
black
holes
and
the
infinite
Hawking
model
of
the
Universe.
A
major
step
forward
in
unifying
the
two
fundamental
theories
of
20th
century
physics,
Einstein's
theory
of
relativity
and
Planck's
quantum
mechanics.
1963年,霍金21岁时患上肌肉萎缩性侧索硬化症(卢伽雷氏症),全身瘫痪,不能言语,手部只有三根手指可以活动。1979至2009年任卢卡斯数学教授,主要研究领域是宇宙论和黑洞,证明了广义相对论的奇性定理和黑洞面积定理,提出了黑洞蒸发理论和无边界的霍金宇宙模型,在统一20世纪物理学的两大基础理论——爱因斯坦创立的相对论和普朗克创立的量子力学方面走出了重要一步。

Einstein
is
one
of
the
most
famous
scientists
in
the
world
partly
because
of
his
great
discoveries
and
partly
because
of
his
scientific
spirits.
He
was
born
in
1879
in
Ulm,
German.
He
didn’t
speak
until
he
was
three
but
he
still
succeed
in
being
admitted
be
a
university.
He
studied
Physics
in
Zurich,
Swizerland
and
he
loves
mathematics
very
much.
Albert
Einstein
had
the
idea
of
his
theory
of
relativity
when
he
was
16.
Then,
when
he
was
graduated
from
university,
he
got
a
job
in
an
office
to
earn
his
living.
There,
he
published
the
special
theory
of
relativity
in
1905.
Four
years
later,
he
became
a
university
teacher.
After
that,
he
published
the
general
theory
of
relativity
in
1915.
Because
of
this
theory,
he
awared
Nobel
Prize
for
physics
in
1921.
When
Hitler
came
to
power
and
went
to
work
in
the
US,
Einstein
left
Germany.
Unlucily,
Einstein
died
in
1955.
