Papa,
as
a
son
of
a
dirt-poor
farmer,
left
school
early
and
went
to
work
in
a
factory,
for
education
was
for
the
rich
then.
So,
the
world
became
his
school.
With
great
interest,
he
read
everything
he
could
lay
his
hands
on,
listened
to
the
town
elders
and
learned
about
the
world
beyond
his
tiny
hometown.
"There's
so
much
to
learn,"
he'd
say.
"Though
we're
born
stupid,
only
the
stupid
remain
that
way.”
He
was
determined
that
none
of
his
children
would
be
denied
an
education.
Thus,
Papa
insisted
that
we
learn
at
least
one
new
thing
each
day.
Though,
as
children,
we
thought
this
was
crazy,
it
would
never
have
occurred
to
us
to
deny
Papa
a
request.
And
dinner
time
seemed
perfect
for
sharing
what
we
had
learned.
We
would
talk
about
the
news
of
the
day;
no
matter
how
insignificant,
it
was
never
taken
lightly.
Papa
would
listen
carefully
and
was
ready
with
some
comment,
always
to
the
point.
Then
came
the
moment—the
time
to
share
the
day's
new
learning.
Papa,
at
the
head
of
the
table,
would
push
back
his
chair
and
pour
a
glass
of
red
wine,
ready
to
listen.
"Felice,"
he'd
say,
"tell
me
what
you
learned
today.”
"I
learned
that
the
population
of
Nepal
is
....”
Silence.
Papa
was
thinking
about
what
was
said,
as
if
the
salvation
of
the
world
would
depend
upon
it.
“The
population
of
Nepal.
Hmm.
Well
.
.
.
.
”
he’d
say.
“Get
the
map;
let's
see
where
Nepal
is.”
And
the
whole
family
went
on
a
search
for
Nepal.
This
same
experience
was
repeated
until
each
family
member
had
a
turn.
Dinner
ended
only
after
we
had
a
clear
understanding
of
at
least
half
a
dozen
such
facts.
As
children,
we
thought
very
little
about
these
educational
wonders.
Our
family,
however,
was
growing
together,
sharing
experiences
and
participating
in
one
another's
education.
And
by
looking
at
us,
listening
to
us,
respecting
our
input,
affirming
our
value,
giving
us
a
sense
of
dignity,
Papa
was
unquestionably
our
most
influential
teacher.
Later
during
my
training
as
a
future
teacher,
I
studied
with
some
of
the
most
famous
educators.
They
were
imparting
what
Papa
had
known
all
along—the
value
of
continual
learning.
His
technique
has
served
me
well
all
my
life.
Not
a
single
day
has
been
wasted,
though
I
can
never
tell
when
knowing
the
population
of
Nepal
might
prove
useful.

“Birds”
and
“airports”
are
two
words
that,
paired
together,don’t
normally
paint
the
most
harmonious
picture.
So
it
really
raises
some
eyebrows
when
China
announces
plans
to
build
an
airport
that
is
for
birds.
Described
as
the
world’s
first-ever
bird
airport,
the
proposed
Lingang
Bird
Sanctuary(保护区)in
the
northern
coastal
city
of
Tianjin
is,
of
course,not
an
actual
airport.
Rather,it's
a
wetland
preserve
specifically
designed
to
accommodate
hundreds-even
thousands-of
daily
takeoffs
and
landings
by
birds
traveling
along
the
East
Asian-Australian
Flyway.
Over
50
species
of
migratory
(迁徙的)water
birds,some
endangered,
will
stop
and
feed
at
the
protected
sanctuary
before
continuing
their
long
journey
along
the
flyway.
Located
on
a
former
landfill
site,the
150-acre
airport
is
also
open
to
human
travelers.(Half
a
million
visitors
are
expected
annually.)
However,instead
of
duty-free
shopping,the
main
attraction
for
non-egg-laying
creatures
at
Tianjin’s
newest
airport
will
be
a
green-roofed
education
and
research
center,
a
series
of
raised
“observation
platforms”
and
a
network
of
scenic
walking
and
cycling
paths
totaling
over
4
miles.
“The
proposed
Bird
Airport
will
be
a
globally
significant
sanctuary
for
endangered
migratory
bird
species,
while
providing
new
green
lungs
for
the
city
of
Tianjin.”
Adrian
McGregor
of
an
Australian
landscape
architecture
firm
explained
of
the
design.
Frequently
blanketed
in
smog
so
thick
that
it
has
shut
down
real
airports,
Tianjin
is
a
city---China’s
fourth
most
populous----that
would
certainly
benefit
from
a
new
pair
of
healthy
green
lungs?
8.
The
underlined
phrase
“non-egg-laying
creatures”
in
Paragraph
3
refers
to?
A.
Visitors.
B.
Designers.
C.
Endangered
water
birds.
D.
Planes.
9.
What
do
we
know
about
the
airport
according
to
the
passage?
A.
People
cannot
watch
birds
up
close
here.
B.
It
is
located
on
a
150-acre
landfill
site.
C.
It
functions
as
an
actual
airport
and
a
wetland
preserve.
D.
It
provides
migratory
birds
with
food
and
shelter.
10.
What
can
we
infer
from
the
last
paragraph?
A.
The
airport
will
become
a
permanent
home
for
birds.
B.
Tianjin
will
win
worldwide
fame
in
the
future.
C.
Tianjin’s
air
quality
will
improve
thanks
to
the
airport.
D.
Tianjin
will
be
able
to
accommodate
more
people.
11.
What
is
this
passage
mainly
about?
A.
Airports
shut
down
and
open
up.
B.
China
is
to
open
the
first
Bird
Airport.
C.
Airports
turn
into
green
lungs.

The
Notre
Dame
fire
has
been
put
out,
but
its
spire
and
a
large
portion
of
its
wooden
roof
have
been
damaged.
The
terrible
destruction
causes
a
sudden
sharp
pain
to
people
around
the
world.
On
Chinese
social
media
network
Wechat
a
common
comment
on
the
disaster
is:
"What
a
pity
that
we
cannot
see
the
damaged
parts
of
the
wonder
anymore.
"
But
the
good
news
is
that
there
is
at
least
one
way
of
seeing
them,
namely
via
a
video
game
called
Assassin's
Creed:
Unity.
In
this
game,
the
player
can
travel
to
one
city
after
another
and
enter
the
buildings
exactly
like
what
they
are
in
reality,
and
see
Notre
Dame
as
it
was
before
the
fire.
Further,
with
virtual
reality
technology,
which
is
already
quite
mature,
one
can
even
look
around
the
undamaged
Notre
Dame
as
if
it
is
still
there.
Maybe
digital
technology
could
help
to
better
protect
architectural
cultural
heritage.
The
idea
of
digitizing
ancient
buildings,
making
digital
models
of
them
so
their
data
can
be
saved,
dates
back
to
the
1990s
and
the
necessary
technology
has
continued
to
advance
since
then.
By
scanning
the
ancient
buildings
with
lasers,
building
3D
models
with
multiple
images,
as
well
as
measuring
everything
precisely,
engineers
can
make
a
copy
as
accurate
as
the
real
one.
As
computers
and
smartphones
are
hugely
popular,
the
digital
replica(复制品)has
great
use
value.
First,
it
allows
tourists
to
feel
the
cultural
relics
without
touching
them,
which
helps
protect
them.
The
virtual
tour
of
Dunhuang
Grottoes
in
Gansu
Province
is
a
good
example
of
this
as
tourists
can
view
the
paintings
without
standing
near
them.
Furthermore,
it
can
make
the
digitized
cultural
relics
more
famous
by
spreading
awareness
about
them
via
the
Internet.
In
2000,
a
virtual
tour
of
the
Great
Wall
became
very
popular
at
the
Hannover
World
Expo,
which
increased
the
number
of
foreign
tourists
visiting
the
site
in
the
following
years.
Above
all,
it
preserves
all
the
information
of
the
cultural
relics.
Even
if
the
original
ones
are
damaged
one
day,
people
can
still
know
what
they
were
like
and
can
build
a
replica
if
desired.
Of
course
however
precise
a
model
is,
it
is
not
the
original.
Time
is
the
biggest
threat
to
a
country's
architectural
heritage,
which
will
always
become
ruins
with
the
passing
of
time.
Maybe
we
will
have
better
technologies
in
the
future,
but
the
digital
technology
offers
a
practical
way
to
preserve
architectural
cultural
heritage
at
the
moment.
12.
What
can
we
see
about
Notre
Dame
in
the
game?
A.
The
damaged
parts.
B.
Its
wooden
shape.
C.
Its
original
look.
D.
The
big
fire.
13.
What
will
engineers
do
to
create
a
digital
replica
of
the
ancient
buildings?
A.
Improve
the
technology
needed.
B.
Scan
the
photos
of
the
buildings
C.
Build
3D
models
of
full
size.
D.
Measure
all
the
parts
exactly.
14.
How
does
the
author
prove
the
digital
copy
has
vital
practical
importance?
A.
By
comparison.
B.
By
giving
examples.
C.
By
classification
D.
By
listing
data.
15.
What
is
the
authors
attitude
towards
the
application
of
digital
technology?
A.
Doubtful.
B.
Delighted.
C.
Supportive.
D.
Conservative.

分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Students
will
need
to
use
all
of
their
skills
in
order
to
understand
the
reading
selections
in
Reader’s
Choice.
____16____There
selections
provide
practice
on
employing
different
reading
skills
to
get
the
message
of
the
writer.
They
also
give
students
practice
in
four
basic
reading
skills:skimming,
scanning,
reading
for
thorough
comprehension,
and
critical
reading.
Skimming
involves
reading
quickly
through
a
text
to
get
an
overall
idea
of
its
contents.
This
kind
of
rapid
reading
is
suitable
when
you
are
trying
to
decide
if
careful
reading
is
desirable
or____17____
Like
skimming,
scanning
is
also
quick
reading.
However,
in
this
case
the
search
is
more
concentrated.
____18____When
you
read
to
find
a
particular
date,
or
number
you
are
scanning.
Reading
for
thorough
comprehension
is
carefully
reading
in
order
to
understand
the
total
meaning
of
the
passage.
At
this
level
of
comprehension
the
reader
is
able
to
summarize
the
author’s
ideas,____19____
Critical
reading
demands
that
a
reader
makes
judgments
about
what
he
or
she
reads.
This
kind
of
reading
requires
posting
and
answering
questions
such
as“____20____”
“Do
I
share
the
author’s
point
of
view?”
and
“Am
I
convinced
by
the
author’s
arguments
and
evidence?”
A.
To
scan
is
to
read
quickly
in
order
to
find
out
specific
information.
B.
The
book
contains
many
types
of
selections
on
a
wide
variety
of
topics.
C.
Reader’s
Choice
is
one
of
the
most
popular
magazines
in
the
world.
D.
but
has
not
yet
made
a
critical
evaluation
of
those
ideas.
E.
Does
my
own
experience
support
that
of
the
author?
F.
when
there
is
no
time
to
read
something
carefully.
G.
Do
I
know
about
the
author?

Sitting
here,
I
go
through
my
mum's
old
journals,
reading
them
very
differently
from
the
first
time
I
found
them.
It
was
a
number
of
years
ago,
when
I
was
twelve,
I
found
___21___
just
lying
around
her
___22___
room.
That
day
I
read
each
line
with
growing
___23___
and
horror.
I
couldn't
believe
that
woman
who
fed
me
as
a
baby
and
read
me
fairy
tales
had
written
this.
I
will
never
forget
the
first
line
I
read:
“They
all
want
to
take
me
away
and
___24___me!”
___25___
I
thought
of
the
other
day,
when
she
was
___26___
around
the
house.
I
was
sitting
at
the
dining
room
table
with
my
grandmother,
working
on
a
five?thousand?piece
puzzle
(拼图)
that
takes
a
___27___
to
solve.
Suddenly,
the
front
door
was
violently
thrown
open.
My
mother
ran
in
screaming
at
the
top
of
her
lungs.
Then
she
ran
into
the
room
and
shoved
(推)
our
puzzle
off
the
table,
smashing
it
into
the
five
thousand
pieces
we
had
___28___.
It
scared
me.
___29___,
something
was
___30___
my
mother.
My
___31___
ended
then,
when
the
doctor
told
me
she
had
hallucinations
(幻想症).
I
started
to
understand
that
her
illness
wasn't
something
I
could
___32___.
That
was
when
I
realized
that
other
kids
always
___33___
she
was
different
when
they
came
over
to
play.
I
always
wondered
___34___
I
could
do
but
there
is
no
solution.
But
dealing
with
my
mother
has
given
me
a
different
outlook
on
life.
I
try
not
to
___35___
my
problems.
If
my
mum
starts
making
strange
remarks
I
leave
the
room
and
call
someone.
Just
___36___
is
one
of
the
best
relax
ways
in
the
world.
If
there's
no
one
to
talk
to,
I
___37___
the
violin
or
some
other
hobbies

B
Papa,
as
a
son
of
a
dirt-poor
farmer,
left
school
early
and
went
to
work
in
a
factory,
for
education
was
for
the
rich
then.
So,
the
world
became
his
school.
With
great
interest,
he
read
everything
he
could
lay
his
hands
on,
listened
to
the
town
elders
and
learned
about
the
world
beyond
his
tiny
hometown.
"There's
so
much
to
learn,"
he'd
say.
"Though
we're
born
stupid,
only
the
stupid
remain
that
way.”
He
was
determined
that
none
of
his
children
would
be
denied
an
education.
Thus,
Papa
insisted
that
we
learn
at
least
one
new
thing
each
day.
Though,
as
children,
we
thought
this
was
crazy,
it
would
never
have
occurred
to
us
to
deny
Papa
a
request.
And
dinner
time
seemed
perfect
for
sharing
what
we
had
learned.
We
would
talk
about
the
news
of
the
day;
no
matter
how
insignificant,
it
was
never
taken
lightly.
Papa
would
listen
carefully
and
was
ready
with
some
comment,
always
to
the
point.
Then
came
the
moment—the
time
to
share
the
day's
new
learning.
Papa,
at
the
head
of
the
table,
would
push
back
his
chair
and
pour
a
glass
of
red
wine,
ready
to
listen.
"Felice,"
he'd
say,
"tell
me
what
you
learned
today.”
"I
learned
that
the
population
of
Nepal
is
....”
Silence.
Papa
was
thinking
about
what
was
said,
as
if
the
salvation
of
the
world
would
depend
upon
it.
“The
population
of
Nepal.
Hmm.
Well
.
.
.
.
”
he’d
say.
“Get
the
map;
let's
see
where
Nepal
is.”
And
the
whole
family
went
on
a
search
for
Nepal.
This
same
experience
was
repeated
until
each
family
member
had
a
turn.
Dinner
ended
only
after
we
had
a
clear
understanding
of
at
least
half
a
dozen
such
facts.
As
children,
we
thought
very
little
about
these
educational
wonders.
Our
family,
however,
was
growing
together,
sharing
experiences
and
participating
in
one
another's
education.
And
by
looking
at
us,
listening
to
us,
respecting
our
input,
affirming
our
value,
giving
us
a
sense
of
dignity,
Papa
was
unquestionably
our
most
influential
teacher.
Later
during
my
training
as
a
future
teacher,
I
studied
with
some
of
the
most
famous
educators.
They
were
imparting
what
Papa
had
known
all
along—the
value
of
continual
learning.
His
technique
has
served
me
well
all
my
life.
Not
a
single
day
has
been
wasted,
though
I
can
never
tell
when
knowing
the
population
of
Nepal
might
prove
useful.

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了作者的父亲虽然出身穷苦人家很早就辍学了,但重视学习和教育,要求家人们每天在晚饭时分享今日所学的知识,这一习惯对作者影响深远。
【4题详解】
细节理解题。根据第一段第一句“Papa,
as
a
son
of
a
dirt-poor
farmer,
left
school
early
and
went
to
work
in
a
factory,
for
education
was
for
the
rich
then.”可知,作者的父亲早早辍学就是因为家中贫穷,那时的教育只有富人才能享受得起。故选D项。
【5题详解】
词义猜测题。根据第二段划线词所在句“We
would
talk
about
the
news
of
the
day;
no
matter
how
insignificant,
it
was
never
taken
lightly.”可知,每天作者一家人会谈论今日见闻,不论有多么不值一提,都会被认真对待,显然这里的it指代的就是the
news
of
the
day。故选C项。
【6题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段中“They
were
imparting
what
Papa
had
known
all
along—the
value
of
continual
learning.
His
technique
has
served
me
well
all
my
life.”可知,作者父亲传递的坚持学习的思想,让作者在自己的教室生涯乃至一生中都受益匪浅,可见作者对父亲的教育理念是心存感激的。故选D项。
【7题详解】
推理判断题。根据第一段最后一句“He
was
determined
that
none
of
his
children
would
be
denied
an
education.”和第二段第一句“Thus,
Papa
insisted
that
we
learn
at
least
one
new
thing
each
day.”可知,作者的父亲决心让自己的孩子接受教育,并且坚持终身学习的理念,B选项“一个坚持让子女接受教育的父亲”符合文意。故选B项。
【点睛】词义猜测题是阅读理解中常见的一种题型,要求考生准确理解文中某些关键单词或词组的含义,包括对超纲词义的推断以及熟词生义的猜测,需要通过上下文得出其在特定场合的含义。猜测词义的方法一般有以下几种:1.通过构词法(派生、合成、转化)猜测。2.通过已有的同义词或反义词猜测,即在上下文找出该生词的其他表示方法,由此推断其含义。3.通过同位语猜测。4.通过解释性的词语,如that
is,that
is
to
say,in
other
words等,以及标点符号,如破折号、括号等引出的对该词的解释性词、句猜测。5.通过具体语境中体现出来的某种关系,如因果关系、转折关系等进行猜测。第2小题的指代猜测就是结合语境在前句中找出对应的指代对象,由此作出了判断。

“Birds”

“airports”
are
two
words
that,
paired
together,don’t
normally
paint
the
most
harmonious
picture.
So
it
really
raises
some
eyebrows
when
China
announces
plans
to
build
an
airport
that
is
for
birds.
Described
as
the
world’s
first-ever
bird
airport,
the
proposed
Lingang
Bird
Sanctuary(保护区)in
the
northern
coastal
city
of
Tianjin
is,
of
course,not
an
actual
airport.
Rather,it's
a
wetland
preserve
specifically
designed
to
accommodate
hundreds-even
thousands-of
daily
takeoffs
and
landings
by
birds
traveling
along
the
East
Asian-Australian
Flyway.
Over
50

birds,some
endangered,
will
stop
and
feed
at
the
protected
sanctuary
before
continuing
their
long
journey
along
the
flyway.
Located
on
a
former
landfill
site,the
150-acre
airport
is
also
open
to
human
travelers.(Half
a
million
visitors
are
expected
annually.)
However,instead
of
duty-free
shopping,the
main
attraction
for
non-egg-laying
creatures
at
Tianjin’s
newest
airport
will
be
a
green-roofed
education
and
research
center,
a
series
of
raised
“observation
platforms”
and
a
network
of
scenic
walking
and
cycling
paths
totaling
over
4
miles.
“The

will
be
a

for

while
providing
new
green
lungs
for
the
city
of
Tianjin.”

of
the
design.
Frequently
blanketed
in

thick
that
it

Tianjin
is
a
city---China’s
fourth

know
about
the

into
green
lungs.
D.
Birds
are
no
longer
enemies
to
airports.
【答案】8.
A
9.
D
10.
C
11.
B
【解析】
【分析】本文是一篇新闻报道,主要介绍了中国将在天津建立鸟儿机场保护区的计划以及具体规划内容和其重大意义。
【8题详解】
词义猜测题。根据画线词前的“instead
of
duty-free
shopping”及画线词后的“a
green-roofed
education
and
research
center,
a
series
of
raised
“observation
platforms”
and
a
network
of
scenic
walking
and
cycling
paths
totaling
over
4
miles.”可知,天津鸟儿机场保护区对游客的主要吸引力将是一个绿色屋顶的教育和研究中心,观赏台以及一个总长超过4英里的风景优美的步行道和自行车道网络,而不是免税购物,由此可知画线词词义为“游客”,故A项正确。
【9题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段中的“Over
50
species
of
migratory
(迁徙的)water
birds,some
endangered,
will
stop
and
feed
at
the
protected
sanctuary
before
continuing
their
long
journey
along
the
flyway.”可知,迁徙的候鸟可以在机场保护区停留和吃东西,然后继续飞行,也就是机场保护区可以为候鸟提供食物和住所,故D项正确。
【10题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段中“The
proposed
Bird
Airport
will
be
a
globally
significant
sanctuary
for
endangered
migratory
bird
species,
while
providing
new
green
lungs
for
the
city
of
Tianjin.”及“Tianjin
is
a
city---China’s
fourth
most
populous----that
would
certainly
benefit
from
a
new
pair
of
healthy
green
lungs”可知,天津的空气质量和环境会因为这个鸟儿机场保护区得到很大的改善,故C项正确。
【11题详解】
主旨大意题。通读全文,特别是根据第二段中的“Described
as
the
world’s
first-ever
bird
airport,
the
proposed
Lingang
Bird
Sanctuary(保护区)in
the
northern
coastal
city
of
Tianjin
is,
of
course,not
an
actual
airport.”可知,本文主要介绍了中国将在天津建立鸟儿机场保护区的计划以及具体规划内容和其重大意义,故B项正确。
【点睛】词义猜测题的难度较大,对画线词上下文的理解是关键,例如本篇第1题,根据画线词前的“instead
of
duty-free
shopping”及画线词后的“a
green-roofed
education
and
research
center,
a
series
of
raised
“observation
platforms”
and
a
network
of
scenic
walking
and
cycling
paths
totaling
over
4
miles.”可知,免税购物、绿色屋顶的教育和研究中心、观赏台以及风景优美的步行道和自行车道网络都是为了吸引游客而设计的,由此可知画线词词义为“游客”。

The
Notre
Dame
fire
has
been
put
out,
but
its
spire
and
a
large
portion
of
its
wooden
roof
have
been
damaged.
The
terrible
destruction
causes
a
sudden
sharp
pain
to
people
around
the
world.
On
Chinese
social
media
network
Wechat
a
common
comment
on
the
disaster
is:
"What
a
pity
that
we
cannot
see
the
damaged
parts
of
the
wonder
anymore.
"
But
the
good
news
is
that
there
is
at
least
one
way
of
seeing
them,
namely
via
a
video
game
called
Assassin's
Creed:
Unity.
In
this
game,
the
player
can
travel
to
one
city
after
another
and
enter
the
buildings
exactly
like
what
they
are
in
reality,
and
see
Notre
Dame
as
it
was
before
the
fire.
Further,
with
virtual
reality
technology,
which
is
already
quite
mature,
one
can
even
look
around
the
undamaged
Notre
Dame
as
if
it
is
still
there.
Maybe
digital
technology
could
help
to
better
protect
architectural
cultural
heritage.
The
idea
of
digitizing
ancient
buildings,
making
digital
models
of
them
so
their
data
can
be
saved,
dates
back
to
the
1990s
and
the
necessary
technology
has
continued
to
advance
since
then.
By
scanning
the
ancient
buildings
with
lasers,
building
3D
models
with
multiple
images,
as
well
as
measuring
everything
precisely,
engineers
can
make
a
copy
as
accurate
as
the
real
one.
As
computers
and
smartphones
are
hugely
popular,
the
digital
replica(复制品)has
great
use
value.
First,
it
allows
tourists
to
feel
the
cultural
relics
without
touching
them,
which
helps
protect
them.
The
virtual
tour
of
Dunhuang
Grottoes
in
Gansu
Province
is
a
good
example
of
this
as
tourists
can
view
the
paintings
without
standing
near
them.
Furthermore,
it
can
make
the
digitized
cultural
relics
more
famous
by
spreading
awareness
about
them
via
the
Internet.
In
2000,
a
virtual
tour
of
the
Great
Wall
became
very
popular
at
the
Hannover
World
Expo,
which
increased
the
number
of
foreign
tourists
visiting
the
site
in
the
following
years.
Above
all,
it
preserves
all
the
information
of
the
cultural
relics.
Even
if
the
original
ones
are
damaged
one
day,
people
can
still
know
what
they
were
like
and
can
build
a
replica
if
desired.
Of
course,
however
precise
a
model
is,
it
is
not
the
original.
Time
is
the
biggest
threat
to
a
country's
architectural
heritage,
which
will
always
become
ruins
with
the
passing
of
time.
Maybe
we
will
have
better
technologies
in
the
future,
but
the
digital
technology
offers
a
practical
way
to
preserve
architectural
cultural
heritage
at
the
moment.
12.
What
can
we

about
Notre

in
the

Its

Its
original
look.
D.
The

13.
What
will

do
to

【解析】
【分析】本文是一篇说明文,主要介绍的是几种阅读技巧。
【16题详解】
下文说“There
selections
provide
practice
on
employing
different
reading
skills
to
get
the
message
of
the
writer”(这些选段提供了运用不同阅读技巧来获得作者信息的练习),说明空格处会提到某个有这些选段的事物,B选项The
book
contains
many
types
of
selections
on
a
wide
variety
of
topics(这本书包含了关于各种各样的主题的许多类型的选择)中的The
book呼应下文的There,因此B选项切合题意,故选B。
【17题详解】
空格处位于or后,因此空格处选择的选项开头为小写,答案为D或F的其中一个。空格前说“This
kind
of
rapid
reading
is
suitable
when
you
are
trying
to
decide
if
careful
reading
is
desirable”(这种快速阅读适合当你试图决定是否需要仔细阅读),F选项when
there
is
no
time
to
read
something
carefully(没有时间仔细阅读的时候)中的there
is
no
time照应前面的when
you
are
trying
to
decide,因此F选项切合题意,故选F。
【18题详解】
空格前说“Like
skimming,
scanning
is
also
quick
reading.
However,
in
this
case
the
search
is
more
concentrated”(和略读一样,扫读也是快速阅读。然而,在这种情况下,搜索更加集中),说明本段主要介绍扫读,A选项To
scan
is
to
read
quickly
in
order
to
find
out
specific
information(扫读是快速阅读,以找到具体的信息)和本段主题一致,因此A选项切合题意,故选A。
【19题详解】
空格前说“At
this
level
of
comprehension
the
reader
is
able
to
summarize
the
author’s
ideas”(在这个层次上,读者能够总结作者的观点),D选项but
has
not
yet
made
a
critical
evaluation
of
those
ideas(但还没有对这些想法做出批判性的评估)中的those
ideas指代前面的the
author’s
ideas,因此D选项切合题意,故选D。
【20题详解】
由空格前的questions
such
as可知,空格处选项应是一个问句,由空格后的““Do
I
share
the
author’s
point
of
view?”
and
“Am
I
convinced
by
the
author’s
arguments
and
evidence?”(
“我是否分享作者的观点?”以及“我是否被作者的论点和证据所说服?”)可知,问题主要是关于我是否认同作者的观点,而不是是否知道作者,因此E选项Does
my
own
experience
support
that
of
the
author?(我自己的经历是否支持作者的观点?)切合题意,故选E。
第三部分英语知识运用(共两节,满分45分)
第一节完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出可以填人空白处的最佳选项,并在答题卡上将该项涂黑。

a
___27___
to

Suddenly,
the
front
door
was

My

It

___29___,
something
was
___30___
my

she

that

___33___
she
was
different
when
they
came
over
to
play.
I
always
wondered
___34___
I
could
do
but
there
is
no
solution.
But
dealing
with
my
mother
has
given
me
a
different
outlook
on
life.
I
try
not
to
___35___
my
problems.
If
my
mum
starts
making
strange
remarks,
I
leave
the

and
call
someone.
Just
___36___
is
one
of
the
best

in
the

If
there's
no
one
to

to,
I
___37___
the
violin
or
some
other
hobbies
to
forget
about
things
for
a

As
I
think
about
the

I
see
that
mum
was
___38___
an
entire
life.
Thankfully,
I
haven't
been.
To
me,
each

is
just
one
piece
of
the
___39___,
one

among
the

get。
【46题详解】

【47题详解】

【48题详解】
考查现在分词。句意:那天晚上,安德鲁接到一个电话,告诉他他得到了那份工作。分析句子结构可知,句中谓语为got,空格处需用非谓语形式,call与tell之间为主谓关系,因此空格处用现在分词表主动,作后置定语,故填telling。
