Kaydence
Henslee,
13,
was
spending
her
spring
break
visiting
Disney
World
with
her
family.
During
a
pool
day
at
their
hotel,
she
noticed
a
small
unconscious(无意识的)
body
in
the
deep
end
of
the
water.
“I
was
nervous
and
afraid,
but
my
instincts(本能)
kicked
in,”
Henslee
told
KRQE.
“I
just
saw
her
floating.
She
wasn’t
on
the
bottom
when
I
was
there.”
The
victim(受害人)
was
three-year-old
Haven
Williams,
who
was
also
spending
a
vacation
with
her
parents
down
in
Florida.
Her
mother
Ashley
stepped
away
from
the
pool
for
a
moment:
“I
just
remember
seeing
another
woman
run
across
and
cry
into
the
bar
area
for
someone
to
call
911
because
a
baby
had
just
drowned...I
didn’t
think
it
was
my
baby.”
Henslee
helped
get
Haven
out
of
the
pool
as
her
“lip
turned
purple”
and
Ashley
could
then
see
it
was
her
own
daughter
from
the
child’s
swimsuit.
An
employee
at
a
children’s
hospital
in
Missouri
herself,
Ashley
recalled
the
“feeling
of
losing
my
child.”
A
heroic
bystander
helped
Henslee
and
performed
CPR
until
Haven
could
be
transported
to
the
hospital.
Though
things
were
touch-and-go,
Haven
is
now
expected
to
make
a
full
recovery.
Henslee
remained
modest
about
her
actions.
“I
knew
it
was
the
right
thing
to
do
to
help
someone
out,”
she
said.
She
even
plans
on
getting
CPR
certified
in
light
of
the
situation.
Since
the
near-drowning
accident,
Haven
has
stayed
in
touch
with
her
rescuer.
Henslee
even
sent
her
a
gift
for
her
birthday.
“The
fact
is
that
they
can
still
celebrate
a
birthday
this
week
and
all
the
holidays.
Maybe
they
can
be
lifelong
friends,”
Henslee’s
father
Matt
said.
What
happened
when
Henslee
was
at
Disney
World?
She
was
required
to
look
after
a
baby.
She
saw
an
inactive
body
in
a
pool.
She
fell
into
the
water
accidentally.
She
lost
her
family
in
the
crowd.
How
can
we
say
about
Ashley
when
she
heard
the
crying?
She
was
frightened
to
death.
B.
she
provided
medical
help
at
once.
C.
She
didn’t
care
what
just
had
happened.
D.
She
didn’t
realize
her
baby
was
in
danger.

does
the

Risky.
B.

D.
Surprising.
27.
Which
of
the
following
can
best
describe
Henslee?
Brave
and
helpful.
B.
Patient
and
strict.
C.
Caring
and
honest.
D.
Selfless
and
creative.

With
their
silly
smiles
and
big
brown
eyes,
Australian
sea
lions
are
adorable.
Photographer
Louise
Cooper
should
know:
in
late
2019
she
visited
Kangaroo
Island
with
a
team
of
scientists
from
University
of
Sydney
to
photograph
the
sea
lion
colony
at
the
beautiful
Seal
Bay.
Cooper
spent
hours
sitting
with
her
camera
amid
sand
dunes
watching
sea
lions
go
about
their
day-mothers
taking
care
of
their
young,
huge
males
lazily
sunning
themselves
on
the
sand,
others
playing
bitey-face
in
the
surf.
“These
playful
creatures
are
just
like
puppy
dogs,”
she
says.
Sadly,
hunted
almost
to
dying
out
in
the
1800s,
these
creatures’
slow
recovery
has
been
influenced
by
their
very
long
breeding(繁殖)
period-Australian
sea
lions
breed
every
18
months,
compared
to
12
months
for
fur
seals.
Over
the
last
40
years,
sea
lion
numbers
have
fallen
by
more
than
half.
Cooper
was
on
the
South
Australian
island
to
record
the
important
work
being
done
by
scientist
Dr
Rachael
Gray
and
her
team,
who
are
trying
to
find
out
why.
“Hookworm(钩虫)
disease
is
quite
common
in
Australian
sea
lions,”
Cooper
explains.“So
scientists
like
Dr
Gray
are
treating
them
with
an
antibiotic(抗生素)
to
see
if
they
can
stamp
it
out(消灭,根除).”High
levels
of
mercury
and
E
coli
have
also
been
discovered
in
their
system.
Together,
these
human
pollutants
weaken
the
sea
lions’
immune(免疫的)
systems.
There
are
hopes
that
stamping
out
hookworm
in
Australian
sea
lions
will
give
them
a
better
chance
of
survival.
The
team’s
visit
to
Kangaroo
Island
was
on
the
eve
of
the
deadly
bushfires
that
swept
through
much
of
the
island,
destroying
wildlife
and
animal
habitats.
Dr
Gray
raced
from
Sydney
to
check
on
the
seals
and,
the
sea
lions
mostly
paid
no
attention
to
what
had
happened.
Thankfully,
the
sea
lion
colony
at
Seal
Bay
survived
unharmed.
“The
fires
were
heartbreaking,”
says
Cooper,
who
hopes
to
return
to
the
colony
with
Dr
Gray
and
her
team,
who
for
now
are
keeping
an
eye
on
this
at-risk
group
of
sea
animals.

SMART
goals
are
Specific,
Measurable,
Attainable(可达到的),
Relevant
and
Timely.
See
how
they
get
their
names.
36
That’s
what
you
call
an
acronym(首字母缩略词).
Specific-because
they
are
detailed.
It’s
not
good
enough
to
simply
say
I’m
going
to
revise
(复习)
for
my
exams.
37
A
specific
goal
is
something
like:
I’m
going
to
spend
at
least
20
hours
revising
for
each
subject
and
make
a
timetable
to
show
how
I’m
going
to
do
this.
Measurable-because
you
should
be
able
to
measure
your
goals
and
ask
yourself
questions
like:
“How
much
have
I
done?”;
“How
much
have
I
still
got
to
do?”;
“
38
”;
“Is
this
‘bad
dream’
ever
going
to
end?”
39
If
your
goal
is,
for
example,
to
raise
$1
million
for
charity,
write
a
novel,
and
revise
for
your
exams
then
you
might
want
to
ask
yourself
if
you
really
can
do
all
this
and
then
maybe
drop
one
or
two
of
them.
Relevant-because
all
you
little
goals
should
help
you
work
towards
your
final
one.
Timely-your
goal
must
have
a
time
frame(框架).
40
There’s
not
much
point
if
you’re
planning
to
finish
revising
a
couple
of
weeks
after
your
exams
are
over.
That
doesn’t
make
much
sense.
Likewise,
you
need
to
think
about
when
would
be
a
good
time
to
start.
That
plan’s
too
general.
How
much
time
do
I
still
need?
It’s
not
really
going
to
be
helpful,
is
it?
Look
at
the
first
letter
of
each
of
the
words.
In
other
words,
it
must
have
a
start
and
a
finish.
Being
the
most
popular
child
in
your
house
won’t
help
you
with
the
revision.
Attainable-because
your
goal
should
be
something
that
you
can
actually
do.
第三部分:完形填空(共20小题,每小题1.5分,满分30分)

I

enough
as

countries.
When
I

I
decided
to
study

another

my

and
I

more.
So
,
after

I

English
there.
It
seemed

the
perfect
way
for
me
to

money,
and
give
back
to
communities
around
the
world.
By
doing
this,
I
could
48
immerse
myself
in
a
very
49
culture.
I
arrived
knowing
very
little
of
the
local
50
but
by
the
end
was
able
to
have
conversations
with
my
students
and
neighbors.
I
also
ate
food
I
would
never
have
tried
if
I

just
been
a

Dear
Kevin,
I’m
so
glad
to
know
that
you
are
going
to
take
part
in
the
performance
to
be
held
in
our
school.
As
for
you,
I’d
like
to
recommend
Peking
Opera.
As
we
all
know,
Peking
Opera,
one
of
the
most
brilliant
representatives
of
Chinese
traditional
culture,
has
become
more
and
more
popular
in
the
world.What’s
more,
it
has
been
three
years
since
you
began
to
learn
about
it,
so
I’m
firmly
convinced
that
your
performance
will
be
attractive
to
the
audience.
As
your
friend,
I
will
try
my
best
to
help
you.
First,
I’d
like
to
practice
with
you
in
school
every
afternoon
so
that
you
will
be
well
prepared
for
it.
Besides,
it
is
a
good
idea
for
you
to
watch
the
performances
of
some
great
artists
from
whom
you
can
surely
learn
a
lot.
Looking
forward
to
your
performance.
Yours,
