Mari,10,lives
in
Flint,Michigan.Since
2014,Flint
residents
have
been
without
clean
drinking
water.That
is
when
the
water
became
polluted
with
lead(铅).As
a
result
of
lead
poisoning,children
in
Flint
have
suffered
from
health
problems.
“We
knew
that
the
water
wasn’t
good,”
Mari
said,“but
we
had
no
idea
how
bad
it
was
and
that
it
was
making
us
sick.”
Mari
has
worked
hard
to
spread
the
awareness
of
Flint’s
water
crisis
by
organising
fundraisers(筹款人)
and
other
events.In
2016,she
inspired
then-president
Barack
Obama
to
visit
her
hometown.“Never

Mari

RyanRecycles
At
the
age
of
3,Ryan
Hickman
began
an
activity
to
clean
up
the
environment—one
can
and
bottle
at
a
time.That
was
in
2012,when
Ryan
went
with
his
dad
to
a
recycling
centre
near
his
home
in
California;the
experience
motivated
Ryan.The
next
day,he
began
collecting
recyclable
materials
from
neighbours.Soon,Ryan’s
Recycling
Company
was
born.“Recycling
keeps
bottles
and
cans
out
of
the
ocean,”
Ryan,now
8,said,“so
animals
don’t
get
sick
from
them
and
die.”
So
far,Ryan
has
helped
customers
recycle
320,000
plastic
and
glass
bottles
and
aluminum(铝)
cans.He
has
also
donated
nearly
$6,000
to
the
Pacific
Marine
Mammal
Center.

developed?
A.By

examples.
25.Why
is
Barack
Obama’s

Mari’s
hometown
mentioned?
A.To
show
Mari’s
effort
paid
off.
B.To
prove
Obama
was
very
kind.
C.To
explain
Obama
was
Mari’s
friend.
D.To

26.What
motivated
Ryan

to
clean
up
the
environment?
A.His
love
for
sea
life.
B.His
desire
to
make
money.
C.His
visit
to
a
recycling
centre.
D.His
parents’
effective

the
Planet
B.How
to
Protect
Our
Planet

C
About
20,000
years
ago,much
of
Europe,Asia,North
and
South
America
was
covered
by
huge
sheets(片)
of
ice,each
many
kilometres
thick.Since
then,the
ice
has
gradually
melted
and
the
ice
sheets
have
retreated.Today,the
only
ice
sheets
on
Earth’s
land
masses
are
found
in
Antarctica
and
Greenland.Some
ice
also
occurs
as
glaciers
in
mountainous
regions
and
as
floating
ice
floes(浮冰块)
in
the
Arctic
Ocean
and
around
Antarctica.
At
first
sight,these
remote
left-overs
from
the
last
Ice
Age
seem
of
little
importance
for
most
of
us
today.However,nothing
could
be
further
from
the
truth.Many
scientists
believe
that
our
planet
is
warming
as
a
result
of
the
greenhouse
gases
that
we
are
pumping
into
the
atmosphere.If
the
planet
becomes
warmer,the
ice
sheets
will
start
to
melt,causing
sea
level
to
rise
perhaps
several
metres
by
the
end
of
this
century.Such
a
rise
would
cause
widespread
flooding
of
low-lying
coastal
areas
and
threaten
many
large
cities.
Observations
from
space
suggest
that
parts
of
the
major
ice
sheets
are
beginning
to
melt
more
rapidly.Meanwhile,recent
satellite
images
have
also
shown
that
unusually
large
areas
of
sea
ice
have
been
melting
during
the
Arctic
summer.Although
sea
level
will
not
be
affected
by
the
melting
of
the
floating
ice,there
will
be
other
important
environmental
changes.For
example,ice
sheets
act
like
a
mirror,reflecting
sunlight
and
cooling
Earth.If
the
ice
disappears,Earth
is
likely
to
become
warmer
and
major
climate
changes
could
occur.Wildlife
living
in
the
polar
regions
may
also
be
destroyed.
28.What
does
the
underlined
word
“retreated”
in
Paragraph
1
probably
mean?
A.Grown.
B.Reduced.
C.Formed.
D.Disappeared.
29.What’s
most
common
people’s
attitude
towards
the
ice
sheets?
A.Optimistic.
B.Critical.
C.Sincere.
D.Unconcerned.
30.What
would
happen
if
the
greenhouse
gases
continue
to
increase?
A.Vast
amounts
of
land
will
be
flooded.
B.Large
cities
in
the
world
will
disappear.
C.The
sea
level
will
drop
to
its
lowest
level.
D.Global
temperatures
will
see
ups
and
downs.
31.What
can
we
infer
from
the
last
paragraph?
A.Ice
sheets
melt
faster
than
floating
ice.
B.The
melting
of
floating
ice
isn’t
damaging.
C.Sea
ice
melting
will
have
disastrous
effects.
D.Space
research
contributes
to
climate
changes.

Like
colourful
corals,they
rocked
gently
in
the
ocean
current.Only
these
were
not
beautiful
natural
reefs
grown
over
centuries.They
were
plastic
bags,stuck
to
the
Aegean
Sea
floor
since
a
waste
site
slid
into
the
water
eight
years
ago.
A
team
of
divers
and
environmentalists
pulled
thousands
of
plastic
bags
from
the
water
near
Greece’s
Andros
Island.The
workers
described
what
they
found
as
a
“gulf
full
of
plastic
corals”.
Seas
polluted
with
plastic
have
become
one
of
the
most
shocking
signs
of
human
damage
to
the
planet.“It
was
a
very
scary
thing
to
see,”said
Arabella
Ross,a
volunteer
diver
with
Aegean
Rebreath.The
group
carries
out
underwater
and
coastal
clean-ups.“It
really
shook
me
and
I
think
it
really
shook
everyone
who
saw
it,”
she
added.
The
Mediterranean
is
among
the
seas
with
the
highest
levels
of
plastic
pollution
in
the
world,the
World
Wildlife
Fund
(WWF)
said
in
a
report
in
June,2019.Greece
produces
about
700,000
tons
of
plastic
waste
a
year,or
about
68
kilos
per
person.About
11,500
tons
enter
its
seas
every
year.Almost
70%
of
that
returns
to
the
Greek
coast,one
of
the
longest
in
the
world.The
sea
pollution
off
Andros
is
thought
to
date
back
to
2011,when
heavy
rain
caused
a
waste
site
to
collapse.Most
of
the
waste
fell
into
the
sea.
Aegean
Rebreath
divers
removed
blue,black
and
yellow
plastic
bags
caught
between
reefs
and
among
fish.“It
was
like
the
paradise
of
the
Caribbean
Sea,where
you
find
coral
reefs
everywhere
of
every
colour.It
was
the
exact
same
thing,but
instead
of
corals
it
was
bags,”diver
Arabella
Ross
said.
The
team
managed
to
remove
only
a
small
part
of
the
plastic
waste
they
found.They
also
pulled
up
300
kilograms
of
old
fishing
traps—known
as
“ghost
nets”—from
Andros.In
a
separate
operation
in
June
off
Salamina,a
small
island
near
Athens,they
removed
two
tons.
“If
people
are
wondering
where
their
rubbish
ends
up,we
see
it
each
time
we
go
into
the
water,”
Ross
said.
32.What
does
the
underlined
word
“it”(Para.3)
most
probably
refer
to?
A.The
Aegean
Sea.
B.Plastic
pollution.
C.The
volunteer
group.
D.The
waste
site.
33.What
is
believed
to
be
the
start
of
the
pollution
off
Andros?
A.Collapse
of
a
waste
site.
B.Extremely
bad
weather.
C.Waste
thrown
away
by
tourists.
D.Plastic
waste
produced
by
the
Greeks.
34.Where
does
the
rubbish
finally
end
up
according
to
Ross?
A.The
oceans.
B.In
the
fields.
C.In
the
rubbish
sites.
D.The
waste
treatment

TheGirlandthePuma
This
is
a
legend
told
and
retold
among
the
people
of
Argentina.
Five
hundred
years
ago
when
the
Spanish
entered
South
America,native
American
tribes
often
fought
back
against
the
invaders.One
way
tribes
could
put
pressure
on
the
Spanish
was
to
surround
their
settlements.This
is
what
happened
in
the
early
1500’s
when
Maldonado,a
Spanish
girl,was
15
years
old.
Hostilenative
Americans
of
the
Querandi
tribe
had
encircled
the
Spanish
settlement
where
Maldonado
lived.Before
long,their
food
supplies
were
depleted
(耗尽).The
people
faced
starvation.They
begged
their
captain
to
allow
them
to
take
their
chances
and
leave
the
settlement
in
search
of
food—but
the
captain
would
not
allow.
Hungry,Maldonado
escaped
the
settlement
and
fled
into
the
jungle.As
night
fell,she
heard
the
alarm
calls
of
wild
animals.Where
could
she
safely
sleep
for
the
night?But
there
was
one
call
that
drew
her
closer.It
was
a
cry
of
pain.She
followed
the
sound
to
a
cave
where
she
found
a
puma
(美洲狮)
that
had
just
given
birth.
Maldonado
helped
the
mother
puma
clean
the
cubs.Later,she
watched
the
babies
while
the
mother
went
out
to
hunt.And
so
days
went
by.
One
day,while
Maldonado
was
gathering
food
and
the
mother
puma
was
inside
the
cave
with
her
cubs,the
girl
was
surprised
by
Querandi
warriors.They
captured
her
and
brought
her
to
their
village.Fearing
the
worst,Maldonado
braced
herself
for
death
she
felt
was
certain
to
come.
But
the
Querandis
were
kind
to
the
girl.They
taught
her
tasks
to
help
in
their
village,and
she
gladly
took
part.

told
me
she
didn’t
know
when
she
was
going
to
go
abroad.
M:Oh,she
knows
now.She
called
me
last
night
and
said
she
was
leaving
for
Shanghai
next

(Text2)
M:Let’s
go
to
the
movies
at
the
Student
Club
at
the
weekend.
W:I’d
like
to,but
I’m
going
to
a
lecture
by
Dr
Smith.Thanks
anyway.
(Text3)
W:Tom,hurry
up!It’s
7:50
now
and
we
are
supposed
to
get
there
in
half
an
hour.
M:That’s
easy.We’ll
ride
our
bicycle
there.
(Text4)
W:Two

for
tomorrow
evening’s
film,please.
M:What
time
will
you
come,Madam?At
7:00
p.m.or
9:00
p.m.?
W:At
7:00
p.m.I
want
to
go
to
bed
before
10:00
p.m.
(Text5)
W:Hello,Bruce.What
would
you
like
to
do
today?The
weather
is
so
fine.
M:I
haven’t
decided
what
to
do
yet.Anyway,staying
at
home
all
day
watching
TV
isn’t
a
good
way
to
kill
time.Do
you
have
any
suggestion?
W:I
feel
like
going
to
the
New
World
Museum.They’ve
got
a
special
exhibition
on
this
week.
M:Good
idea!
(Text6)
M:Jane,we’d
like
you
to
come
to
our
meeting
on
Tuesday.Can
you
come?
W:I’m
not
sure.Let
me
check
my
schedule.What
time
are
you
having
it?
M:We’re
planning
on
having
it
around
3
in
the
afternoon.
W:Let
me
call
you
back
in
a
few
minutes.
M:Sure!If
I’m
not
in,could
you
leave
a
message
on
my
answering
machine?
W:Sure!
(Text7)
M:What
do
you
think
about
the
zoo?
W:I
like
to
go
to
the
zoo.I
like
to
give
all
the
animals
names,like
“Bert
the
Giraffe”,but
I
wish
the
animals
didn’t
have
to
be
in
the
zoo.I
think
it
is
good
when
zoos
save
animals,and
help
to
make
their
populations
grow.
M:Yeah,they
can
do
some
good
things,definitely.Ah,what
is
your
favourite
animal?
W:My
favourite
animal,ooh,let
me
see.I
love
cats,just
as
a
pet
but,besides
if
I
had
to
pick
the
coolest
animal,I
think
I
would
probably
pick
a
monkey.
M:A
monkey?
W:Yeah.
M:Yeah,there’s
a
lot
of
monkeys
in
Japan.Have
you
ever
seen
a
monkey
in
the
wild?
W:No,but
my
brother
is
a
wild
monkey.
M:Oh,he’s
going
to
have
to
listen
to
this
now.
(Text8)
W:Hi,Dave.Glad
to
see
you
could
make
it.You’ve
traveled
such
a
long
way.Come
on
in.
M:Wow,it
looks
like
the
party
is
at
a
high
point.
W:Yeah.And
they’re
eating
all
of
my
food.Oh,I’d
like
you
to
meet
my
sister,Carol.
M:Great,which
one
is
she?
W:She
is
sitting
on
the
sofa
over
there.
M:You
mean
the
woman
with
long
black
hair
and
a
pair
of
sunglasses?
W:That’s
right.Let
me
introduce
her
to
you,as
you’re
both
so
friendly
and
generous.
M:And
look
at
him.Who’s
the
man
sitting
next
to
her?I
mean
the
man
wearing
the
suit
jacket?
W:Oh,that’s
Bob,my
ballet
teacher.
M:Ballet
teacher?I
never
know
you
were
into
ballet.
W:I
started
about
two
months
e
on.I’d
like
you
to
meet
them.
M:I’m
coming.
(Text9)
W:Look
at
all
the
plastic
bottles!Why
do
you
like
buying
drinks
so
much?
M:I
hardly
buy
drinks.I
picked
most
of
the
bottles
on
the
street
because
I
wanted
to
do
something
to
help
the
environment.
W:Wow!That’s
great!At
present,our
land
and
oceans
are
filling
up
with
plastic
garbage.It’s
really
harmful
to
the
environment.
M:You
can’t
be
more
right.So
what
do
you
do
to
protect
the
environment?
W:Well,I
usually
cycle
to
work
instead
of
driving
a
car.And
I
usually
go
to
the
grocery
store
on
foot.
M:Do
you
buy
plastic
bags
when
you
are
shopping?
W:No,I
take
my
own
cloth
bags.In
fact,I
made
several
cloth
bags
by
myself.Would
you
like
to
have
one?
M:Really?That’s
great.So
next
time
I
can
also
go
shopping
with
a
cloth
bag.
W:I
think
if
everyone
takes
action
to
protect
the
environment,we’ll
have
a
greater
world.

【语篇解读】本文是一篇应用文。文章主要介绍了几个具有特色的夏令营。
21.C 细节理解题。根据EdenVillageCamp中的“wherecamperscanpickfreshfruitandvegetableswhenhungerstrikesbetweenmeals”可知,在EdenVillageCamp野营中,你能体验采摘新鲜水果和蔬菜。
22.B 细节理解题。根据所提供的每个夏令营活动的时间安排可知,只有EdenVillageCamp(June27th-August12th)和TimberLakeCamp(June26th-August15th)两个活动符合8月10日度假的要求。
23.D 细节理解题。由IroquoisSprings中的“aswellashorsebackriding,art,theatreandextensiveoutdoor-adventureactivities”可知选D项。
【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。文章通过两个孩子关爱环境的故事说明,世界上的人任何时候都可以采取行动来拯救地球。
24.D 推理判断题。本文主要通过列出两个小孩保护环境的事例来说明论点,故选D项。
25.A 推理判断题。通过RaiseHerVoice部分第二段中Mari所说的话可知,她能让当时任总统的奥巴马来她的家乡访问,是她所做的努力取得了成功。
26.C 细节理解题。由RyanRecycles部分第一段中的“Thatwasin2012,whenRyanwentwithhisdadtoarecyclingcentrenearhishomeinCalifornia”可知,选C项。
27.A 主旨大意题。文章主要讲述了两个孩子在保护环境方面取得的成就,他们是保护地球的英雄。
【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。地球上冰层的融化可能导致海平面加速上升,物种大量消失,人类生活面临灾难。
28.B 词义猜测题。由第一段的描述以及该段中的“theicehasgraduallymelted”和“theonlyicesheetsonEarth’slandmassesarefoundinAntarcticaandGreenland”可知,冰逐渐融化,冰原也变小了,两万年前,欧洲、亚洲、北美洲和南美洲的大部分区域被大片的冰覆盖着,而现在地球陆地上的冰原只存在于南极洲和格陵兰岛。reduce意为“减少”,符合语境,故B项正确。
29.D 推理判断题。由第二段中的“Atfirstsight,theseremoteleft-oversfromthelastIceAgeseemoflittleimportanceformostofustoday.”可知,乍一看,这些从冰河时代留下来的冰原对我们大多数人来说似乎意义不大,由此可推断,大多数人并不关心冰原的存在。
30.A 细节理解题。由第二段中的“ourplanetiswarmingasaresultofthegreenhousegases”和“Iftheplanetbecomeswarmer...wouldcausewidespreadfloodingoflow-lyingcoastalareasandthreatenmanylargecities.”可知,如果大气中的温室气体继续增加,地球将会变得更温暖,冰原开始融化,海平面将会上升,这会使得低洼的沿海地区洪水泛滥,甚至会威胁到很多大城市。
31.C 推理判断题。由最后一段中的“Iftheicedisappears,Earthislikelytobecomewarmerandmajorclimatechangescouldoccur.Wildlifelivinginthepolarregionsmayalsobedestroyed.”可知,地球上冰层的融化和消失将会带来灾难性的后果。
【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。不久前,潜水员发现在希腊安德罗斯岛附近的爱琴海海域积累了大量的塑料垃圾。从远处望去,潜水员仿佛看到了一个色彩缤纷、随着洋流缓缓流动的海底世界。然而,在希腊安德罗斯岛的海床上,人们并没有发现任何植物——取而代之的是数万吨的塑料废物,它们在这里堆积如山,形成了一种“珊瑚礁”。
32.B 代词指代题。根据上文的“Seaspollutedwithplastichavebecomeoneofthemostshockingsignsofhumandamagetotheplanet.”可知,此处的it指的是上文提到的塑料污染。
33.A 细节理解题。根据第四段的“TheseapollutionoffAndrosisthoughttodatebackto2011,whenheavyraincausedawastesitetocollapse.Mostofthewastefellintothesea.”可知,污染的开始是垃圾场的坍塌。
34.A 推理判断题。根据最后一段中Ross所说的话“Ifpeoplearewonderingwheretheirrubbishendsup,weseeiteachtimewegointothewater”可知,垃圾最终进入了海里。
35.A 主旨大意题。通读全文可知,潜水员在水下仿佛看到了一个色彩缤纷、随着洋流缓缓流动的海底世界。但是,在希腊安德罗斯岛的海床上,人们并没有发现任何植物——取而代之的是数万吨的塑料废物,它们在这里堆积如山,形成了一种“珊瑚礁”。由此可知,A项可作为本文的标题。
【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了人们可以为保护海洋所做的事情。
36.A 根据上文“Theoceansupportsaglobalunderwatercirculationsystemofcurrents,whichaffectstemperatureandnutrientdistribution.”和下文“It’stimeforyoutodosomethingfortheocean.”可知,A项“并且这会反过来影响人类的基本生活”承上启下,故选A项。
37.C 根据下文“TheMontereyBayAquariumhasmadeiteasytochooseocean-friendlyseafoodwhereveryouliveortravel.Youcanvisittheirsitetodeterminethepocketguide.Andtrytocarryareusablecupwhentravelling.”可知,这一段主要讲了选择“海洋友好”的海产品和使用可重复利用的餐具问题,这与C项“吃可持续再生的海产食品,用可重复使用的杯子”意思相符,故选C项。
38.G 根据下文“Youcanalsomakeyoureffortstoreducetheplasticwastebytravellingwithyourowncup.”可知,这里提到了减少塑料垃圾的方法,这与G项“拒绝瓶装水是一种减少塑料垃圾的有效方法”意思相符,故选G项。
39.D 根据下文“orgettogetherwithlike-mindedmembersofyourcommunitybyparticipatinginalocalbeachclean-up”可知,这里提到了清理海滩的活动,D项“带一个小包,沿途捡拾垃圾”符合语境,故选D项。
40.F 根据下文“Youshouldcorrectlydealwithdangerousmaterials.”可知,这里提到了你应该正确地处理危险物品。F项“只要可能,你就应该使用无毒家居产品”符合语境,故选F项。
【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了世界海洋日,特别强调了塑料污染,呼吁大家行动起来共同保护我们的海洋。
41.B serious“严肃的,认真的”;important“重要的”;apparent“显然的,易看见的”;awesome“可怕的,令人敬畏的”。根据语境可知,此处表示世界海洋对我们的生活非常重要,故选B项。
42.A influence“影响”;result“结果”;affection“喜爱”;drawback“劣势”。根据语境可知,此处表示人类活动对海洋的影响。故选A项。
43.D title“题目”;movement“运动,活动”;campaign“运动,战役”;theme“主题”。根据常识可知,“OurOceans,OurFuture(我们的海洋,我们的未来)”应该指的是世界海洋日的主题,故选D项。
44.C vital“至关重要的”;possible“可能的”;special“特殊的”;fundamental“基础的,根本的”。specialemphasis意为
“特别强调”。故选C项。
45.B reuse“再利用”;prevent“阻止”;collect“收集”;gather“聚焦”。根据下文“forahealthierocean(一个更健康的海洋)”可知,应阻止海洋垃圾。故选B项。
46.D water“水”;food“食物”;air“空气”;oxygen“氧气”。根据下文“forbreath(为了呼吸)”以及常识可知,海洋产生的应该是氧气。故选D项。
47.A abundance“丰富”;freedom“自由”;independence“独立性”;protection“保护”。根据下文“NearlyhalfofallspeciesonEarth(地球上几乎一半的物种)”可知,海洋里物种丰富。故选A项。
48.B base“以……作基础”;depend“依赖”;live“生存”;attach“附属”。根据语境可知,此处表示地球上几乎一半的物种依赖海洋,且dependon“依赖,依靠”为固定搭配。故选B项。
49.C increase“增加”;decrease“减少”;improve“提高”;develop“发展”。根据语境可知,此处表示海洋提高了生活质量,故选C项。
50.A 根据上文内容以及下文“becausetheyarekeytotransportationandrecreation(因为它们是交通和娱乐的关键)”可知,海洋对世界经济也是至关重要的。故选A项。
51.C 根据上下文语境可知,此处表示超过95%的水下王国未被勘探,since引导原因状语从句。故选C项。
52.D area“面积”;width“宽度,广度”;amount“量,数量”;depth“深度,深处”。根据上文“over95percentoftheunderwaterkingdomremainsunexplored”可知,水下王国因为深度未被勘探,故选D项。
53.C destroy“毁灭”;exploit“剥削,开采”;affect“影响”;explore“勘查,探测”。根据下文“thatresultinpollution”可知,海洋受到人类活动的影响。故选C项。
54.B activity“活动”;concern“关心”;reason“理由”;cause“原因,事业”。根据语境可知,此处表示特别值得关注的是塑料垃圾。故选B项。
55.D naturally“自然地”;controversially“引起争议地”;evidently“明显地”;eventually“最后,终于”。句意:其中一些来自于使用我们河流、湖泊和海洋的船只,最后流入海洋。故选D项。

I
have
a
favour
to
ask.We
are
to
start
a
Green
School
campaign
to
inspire
students
to
be
environmentally
conscious
at
school.Could
you
give
us
some
advice
on
our
current
plan
at
your
convenience?
We
plan
to
play
a
30
minutes’
video
first,which
is
about
how
to
save
water,paper,cans
and
electricity
at
school.Students
will
surely
be
impressed
by
the
striking
figures
and
helpful
tips.Then
our
science
teacher
will
give
a
live
show
in
the
lab
on
what
actually
happens
to
those
recyclable
materials
during
the
recycling
process.This
will
be
really
popular.
What
else
can
we
do?Looking
forward
to
your
