me
explain
a
little
about
it.As
you
may
already
know,it’s
a
required
meeting
once
a
week.I
expect
you
to
do
all
the

for

is
cleaning
up.Be
sure
to
put
the
waste
in
the
correct
containers.We
can’t
mix
liquid
with
paper.This
is
extremely
important.I
don’t
want
any
fires
in
this
room.You
are
responsible
for
washing
out
your
own
lab
equipment
and
putting
it
away.If
you
don’t
do
this,I
will
take
away
points
from
your
grade.Nobody’s
going
to
clean
up
after
you.OK,any
questions?

many
lab

the
students
have
every
week?

should
the

avoid
mixing
liquid
with

may
produce
pollution.

young

about
to

out
in
Europe.She
records
the
details
of
her
daily
life,but
more
than
that.Eventually,the
diary
comes
to
a
heartbreaking
end
with
the
girl
shot
to
death
by
the

not
the

(2021·河南洛阳高一期末)
Machu
Picchu
was
a
city
of
the
Inca
Empire.It
is
sometimes
called
the“lost
city”because
the
Spanish
never
discovered
the
city
when
they
controlled
the
Inca
in
the
1500s.
One
of
the
most
amazing
things
about
Machu
Picchu
is
its
location.It
is
8,000
feet
above
sea
level
on
top
of
a
mountain
in
the
Andes
in
southern
Peru.Three
sides
of
the
city
have
cliffs
that
drop
over
1,400
feet
to
the
Urubamba
River.At
the
fourth
side
of
the
city
is
a
high
mountain.
Researchers
believe
that
the
city
was
first
built
around
the
year
of
1450.Building
work
likely
continued
on
the
site
until
the
empire
was
controlled
by
the
Spanish
in
the
middle
1500s.
Machu
Picchu
was
built
as
a
place
for
the
ninth
Inca
King,Pachacuti.Researchers
aren’t
sure
why
he
built
it,however.There
are
a
number
of
ideas
as
to
the
reason.One
idea
is
that
it
was
a
vacation
place
for
the
king.It
is
in
a
Vacation
place
than
the
capital
city
of
Cuzco.It
is
also
in
a
beautiful
location
and
would
have
been
a
nice
hiding
place
for
the
king.Another
idea
is
that
it
was
built
as
a
religious
site.Machu
Picchu
was
not
a
large
city.Probably
only
around
1,000
people
lived
there.
Most
of
the
buildings
were
built
with
stones
that
were
fitted
together
tightly
without
the
use
of
mortar(砂浆).This
style
of
building
helped
the
buildings
to
stay
complete
during
earthquakes.The
Inca
didn’t
use
the
wheel,so
most
of
the
hardwork
was
done
by
people.It
would
have
taken
hundreds
of
workers
to
move
the
large
stones
around
the
site.
The
city
was
rediscovered
in
July
1911
by
an
explorer
Hiram
Bingham.He
was
led
there
by
a
local
boy
named
Pablito
Alvarez.Later,Hiram
wrote
a
book
about
the
city
called
Lost
City
of
the
Incas.

A
mile
is
a
common
unit
of
measurement
for
distance.We,at
times,need
to
convert
(转换)
miles
into
other
units
of
measurement.The
most
popular,of
course,is
converting
to
kilometres,when
you
want
to
convert
something
like
MPH
(miles
per
hour)
to
KMPH
(kilometres
per
hour).Other
popular
units
of
conversion
include
feet,yards,and
inches.
Long,long
ago,when
the
Romans
ruled
over
British
lands,they
used
a
measurement
unit
that
was
known
as
the
“mille
passuum”,which
meant
nothing
but
a
thousand
paces.This
was
measured
by
soldiers
marching
a
thousand
paces,or
5,000
Roman
feet.By
traditional
standards,this
measures
out
to
be
about
1,479
metres,or
about
1,617
yards,and
is
today
known
as
the
Roman
Mile.
After
the
fall
of
the
Roman
Empire,the
British
came
up
with
their
own
system
of
measurement.In
their
system,they
used
a
“furlong”,which
was
the
distance
a
horse
could
travel
pulling
a
plow
before
stopping
for
rest,to
measure
distances.1
furlong
was
equal
to
about
660
feet,making
the
mile
8
furlongs.
These
and
other
similar
methods
led
to
a
varied
measurement
of
the
mile.This
was
solved,to
some
extent,with
the
adoption
of
the
international
yard
and
pound
measurements,which
were
agreed
upon
by
6
countries.There
were
exactly
1,760
yards
in
a
mile
using
this
system.While
the
US
follows
the
International
Mile,they
also
use
the
US
Survey
Mile
or
the
Statute
Mile,which
measures
1,609.347
219
metres,or
about
3.2
mm
longer
than
the
International
Mile.
The
statute
mile
was
defined
by
an
English
Act
of
Parliament
during
the
time
of
Queen
Elizabeth
I.It
states:“A
Mile
shall
contain
eight
Furlongs,every
Furlong
forty
Poles,and
every
Pole
shall
contain
sixteen
Foot
and
a
half.”This
also
works
out
to
be
about
1,760
yards,5280
feet,or
1,609
metres.
Besides
these,there
is
the
Metric
Mile,which
is
used
in
sporting
events
where
distance
is
to
be
measured,like
track
and
field
events.The
Nautical
Mile
is
a
measurement
used
in
sea
and
air
travel.

M:Hello,everyone.My
name
is
John.I’m
the
teaching
assistant
for
this
lab
session.Let
me
explain
a
little
about
it.As
you
may
already
know,it’s
a
required
meeting
once
a
week.I
expect
you
to
do
all
the
experiments
and
keep
the
results
in
your
lab
notebook.I’ll
collect
the
notebooks
every
two
weeks.You’ll
be
graded
on
lab
notebooks
and
quizzes.But
the
most
important
information
I
want
to
give
you
now
is
about
safety.First
of
all,you
must
wear
shoes
that
cover
your
feet
in
the
lab.Tennis
shoes
are
OK.Also,don’t
wear
loose
clothes,long
scarves,big
necklaces,or
loose
belts—they
get
caught
in
something
or
fall
into
liquid.Another
thing
to
do
for
safety
is
cleaning
up.Be
sure
to
put
the
waste
in
the
correct
containers.We
can’t
mix
liquid
with
paper.This
is
extremely
important.I
don’t
want
any
fires
in
this
room.You
are
responsible
for
washing
out
your
own
lab
equipment
and
putting
it
away.If
you
don’t
do
this,I
will
take
away
points
from
your
grade.Nobody’s
going
to
clean
up
after
you.OK,any
questions?

suddenly
one

it.She
was

Elizabeth
recalls.“I

up
knowing
about
the

Machu
Picchu
was
a
city
of
the
Inca
Empire.It
is
sometimes
called
the“lost
city”because
the
Spanish
never
discovered
the
city
when
they
controlled
the
Inca
in
the
1500s.
One
of
the
most
amazing
things
about
Machu
Picchu
is
its
location.It
is
8,000
feet
above
sea
level
on
top
of
a
mountain
in
the
Andes
in
southern
Peru.Three
sides
of
the
city
have
cliffs
that
drop
over
1,400
feet
to
the
Urubamba
River.At
the
fourth
side
of
the
city
is
a
high
mountain.
Researchers
believe
that
the
city
was
first
built
around
the
year
of
1450.Building
work
likely
continued
on
the
site
until
the
empire
was
controlled
by
the
Spanish
in
the
middle
1500s.
Machu
Picchu
was
built
as
a
place
for
the
ninth
Inca
King,Pachacuti.Researchers
aren’t
sure
why
he
built
it,however.There
are
a
number
of
ideas
as
to
the
reason.One
idea
is
that
it
was
a
vacation
place
for
the
king.It
is
in
a
Vacation
place
than
the
capital
city
of
Cuzco.It
is
also
in
a
beautiful
location
and
would
have
been
a
nice
hiding
place
for
the
king.Another
idea
is
that
it
was
built
as
a
religious
site.Machu
Picchu
was
not
a
large
city.Probably
only
around
1,000
people
lived
there.
Most
of
the
buildings
were
built
with
stones
that
were
fitted
together
tightly
without
the
use
of
mortar(砂浆).This
style
of
building
helped
the
buildings
to
stay
complete
during
earthquakes.The
Inca
didn’t
use
the
wheel,so
most
of
the
hardwork
was
done
by
people.It
would
have
taken
hundreds
of
workers
to
move
the
large
stones
around
the
site.
The
city
was
rediscovered
in
July
1911
by
an
explorer
Hiram
Bingham.He
was
led
there
by
a
local
boy
named
Pablito
Alvarez.Later,Hiram
wrote
a
book
about
the
city
called
Lost
City
of
the
Incas.

D
A
mile
is
a
common
unit
of
measurement
for
distance.We,at
times,need
to
convert
(转换)
miles
into
other
units
of
measurement.The
most
popular,of
course,is
converting
to
kilometres,when
you
want
to
convert
something
like
MPH
(miles
per
hour)
to
KMPH
(kilometres
per
hour).Other
popular
units
of
conversion
include
feet,yards,and
inches.
Long,long
ago,when
the
Romans
ruled
over
British
lands,they
used
a
measurement
unit
that
was
known
as
the
“mille
passuum”,which
meant
nothing
but
a
thousand
paces.This
was
measured
by
soldiers
marching
a
thousand
paces,or
5,000
Roman
feet.By
traditional
standards,this
measures
out
to
be
about
1,479
metres,or
about
1,617
yards,and
is
today
known
as
the
Roman
Mile.
After
the
fall
of
the
Roman
Empire,the
British
came
up
with
their
own
system
of
measurement.In
their
system,they
used
a
“furlong”,which
was
the
distance
a
horse
could
travel
pulling
a
plow
before
stopping
for
rest,to
measure
distances.1
furlong
was
equal
to
about
660
feet,making
the
mile
8
furlongs.
These
and
other
similar
methods
led
to
a
varied
measurement
of
the
mile.This
was
solved,to
some
extent,with
the
adoption
of
the
international
yard
and
pound
measurements,which
were
agreed
upon
by
6
countries.There
were
exactly
1,760
yards
in
a
mile
using
this
system.While
the
US
follows
the
International
Mile,they
also
use
the
US
Survey
Mile
or
the
Statute
Mile,which
measures
1,609.347
219
metres,or
about
3.2
mm
longer
than
the
International
Mile.
The
statute
mile
was
defined
by
an
English
Act
of
Parliament
during
the
time
of
Queen
Elizabeth
I.It
states:“A
Mile
shall
contain
eight
Furlongs,every
Furlong
forty
Poles,and
every
Pole
shall
contain
sixteen
Foot
and
a
half.”This
also
works
out
to
be
about
1,760
yards,5280
feet,or
1,609
metres.
Besides
these,there
is
the
Metric
Mile,which
is
used
in
sporting
events
where
distance
is
to
be
measured,like
track
and
field
events.The
Nautical
Mile
is
a
measurement
used
in
sea
and
air
travel.

B.0.3234.
C.1479.
D.1617.
答案B
解析细节理解题。根据第二段可知,millepassuum就是一个士兵行走一千步,也即是5,000Romanfeet,同时也就是1,617yards。利用这些关系计算可知答案。
34.Which
of
the
following
is
the

答案与解析
【语篇解读】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍博物馆的由来、经营与生存之道。
56.wealthy 考查形容词。此处使用形容词修饰后面的名词people,意为“家庭富裕的人们”。
57.or 考查连词。or表示选择。句意:收藏家等到家中藏品足够丰富或者他们死后,会将藏品捐赠给博物馆。
58.formed 考查动词时态。根据句法分析,The80,000objects为句子的主语,再根据后面的时间状语判断,应使用一般过去时态。句意:汉斯·斯隆爵士所收藏的8万件藏品组成了大英博物馆的核心馆藏。
59.which/that 考查定语从句。关系代词that或which指代前面的名词theBritishMuseum,并在定语从句中作主语。
60.arecalled 考查动词的时态和语态。此处叙述一般事实,主语核心名词Theparts与后面动词call之间构成被动关系,故用被动语态。
61.is 考查动词形式。根据后一句“Mostofitisstoredawayorusedforresearch.”可知,此处用be动词的第三人称单数形式is。
62.themselves 考查代词。句意:来访者可以同电脑模拟互动,并想象他们自己生活在历史的不同时期……由此判断使用反身代词。
63.walking 考查非谓语动词。由并列连词or判断,后面部分与livingatadifferenttimeinhistory形式一致,故使用walking。
64.accuracy 考查名词。前面的Historical为形容词,后面应使用名词作主语。
65.for 考查介词。competefor...“为……而竞争”。句意:博物馆必须与其他娱乐方式为人们的业余时间和金钱而竞争。
