B
Let’s
be
real,
we
all
have
a
special
place
in
our
heart
for
the
home
(or
homes)
we
grew
up
in.
Think
of
the
place
where
you
learned
to
ride
your
first
bike
or
the
door
frame
where
your
parents
tracked
your
heights.
But
would
that
nostalgia
be
enough
for
you
to
drop
half
a
million
to
buy
back
the
house?
If
you’re
author
J.
K.
Rowling,
and
your
childhood
home
inspired
certain
parts
of
what
would
become
one
of
the
most
well-known
fiction
series
to
ever
exist,
it’s
worth
considering.
As
it
turns
out,
Harry
Potter
author
J.
K.
Rowling
owns
her
childhood
home,
Church
Cottage
at
Tutshill
in
Chepstow,
according
to
the
The
Daily
Mail.
Rowling
had
quietly
bought
it
back
in
2011
for
?400,000.
Now,
the
secret
is
out,
as
this
week,
Rowling
and
her
husband
commissioned
major
renovation
projects
for
it,
after
years
of
no
activity.
The
district
council
has
granted
the
couple
planning
permission
to
install
two
rear
dormer
windows
and
knock
down
and
rebuild
the
garage.
But
let’s
talk
about
that
magic
that
is
Church
Cottage
already.
Rowling
lived
here
from
ages
nine
to
18.
The
home
includes
a
cupboard
under
the
stairs
(sound
familiar?!),
which
is
believed
to
have
been
the
inspiration
for
Harry’s
room
at
the
Dursley
family’s
house.
There
is
also
a
trap
door
in
the
cottage’s
dining
room,
similar
to
the
one
Fluffy
guards
in
Harry
Potter
and
the
Sorcerer’s
Stone.
Also,
the
property
is
near
the
Forest
of
Dean,
where
a
large
part
of
Harry
Potter
and
the
Deathly
Hallows
takes
place.
Over
the
years,
some
wise
fans
were
able
to
connect
the
dots
leading
to
the
home,
often
trying
to
visit
it.
“For
years,
every
time
a
book
or
a
film
came
out,
there
were
always
members
of
the
public
asking
to
come
in
to
see
the
house,”
Julian
Mercer,
the
home’s
former
owner,
told
BBC
back
in
2011.
“That’s
been
happening
ever
since
the
book
came
out.
But
we
haven’t
let
them
in.”
Now
that
the
secret’s
out
that
the
home
is
back
in
Rowling’s
hands,
those
uninvited
fans
might
be
knocking
on
the
door
a
little
more
frequently.
Although
her
exact
renovation
plans
may
still
be
a
mystery,
we
sure
hope
she
turns
it
into
a
museum
for
the
book.
4.

can
we
learn
about
Church
Cottage
from
the
passage?
A.
Rowling
got
a
lot
of
inspiration
from
it.
B.
Rowling
learned
how
to
ride
her
bike
there.
C.
Rowling’s
parents
secretly
sold
it
for
half
a
million.
D.
Rowling’s
parents
recorded
her
heights
on
its
door
frame.
5.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“property”
probably
refer
to?
A.
Harry’s
room.
B.
The
trap
door.
C.
Dursley
family’s
house.
D.
Church
Cottage.
6.
What
can
we
infer
about
Julian
Mercer
from
the
text?
A.
He
is
one
of
Rowling’s
fans.
B.
He
sold
his
cottage
in
2011.
C.
He
is
a
reporter
from
BBC.
D.
He
is
a
character
in
Rowling’s
books.
7.
When
do
visitors
begin
trying
to
visit
the
house?
A.
After
Rowling
bought
the
house
back.
B.
After
the
public
began
to
focus
on
it.
C.
After
Rowling’s
books
came
out.
D.
After
the
house
was
changed
into
a
museum.
C
Adolescents
who
routinely
engaged
in
moderate
and
energetic
exercise
showed
long-term
improvements
in
their
academic
performance,
the
British
Journal
of
Sports
Medicine
study
reported.
“Our
study
suggests
that
the
effect
of
physical
activity
may
be
quite
large,”
John
Reilly,
a
professor
at
the
University
of
Strathclyde
said.
The
researchers
looked
at
a
sample
of
about
5000
children
who
were
involved
in
a
long-term
study
that
tracks
children
born
in
the
UK
between
1991
and
1992.
When
children
reached
11
years
old,
their
daily
physical
activity
levels
were
measured
using
an
accelerometer
for
three
to
seven
days.
The
device,
similar
to
a
pedometer
tracking
the
number
of
steps
taken,
recorded
the
average
time
children
exercised,
which
was
29
minutes
a
day
for
boys
and
18
minutes
for
girls.
“The
actual
levels
of
daily
physical
activity
at
age
11
were
quite
low,”
Mr.
Reilly
noted.
The
children
had
their
academic
performance
tested
at
ages
11
and
13
with
compulsory
national
tests
for
students,
and
also
at
15
or
16
with
the
General
Certificate
of
Secondary
Education
(GCSE)
exam.
The
tests
assessed
the
children’s
abilities
in
English,
math
and
science
subjects.
When
factors
that
could
affect
academic
performance
including
birth
weight,
mother’s
age
at
delivery
and
other
socioeconomic
factors
were
adjusted
for,
the
results
showed
that
the
more
children
participated
in
moderate
and
energetic
physical
activity,
the
higher
their
test
scores
were
at
age
11
in
all
three
subjects.
For
girls,
science
scores
were
most
strongly
linked
to
exercise.
When
they
followed
up
with
the
kids
at
age
13,
their
academic
scores
were
still
linked
to
how
much
they
had
exercised
when
they
were
11
years
old.
By
the
time
the
youngsters
took
the
GCSE
exam,
each
17-minute-per-day
increase
in
physical
activity
for
the
boys
was
linked
to
an
improvement
in
their
scores.
Every
additional
12-minute
increase
a
day
in
exercise
for
the
girls
was
also
linked
to
an
increased
score
as
well,
especially
in
the
science
category.
The
researchers
have
called
for
more
studies
to
look
at
the
possible
academic
benefits
that
could
be
gained
if
students
exercise
the
recommended
60
minutes
or
more
a
day.
8.
How
did
the
researchers
carry
out
the
study?
A.
By
asking
different
questions.
B.
By
using
tracking
equipment.
C.
By
asking
teens
to
take
some
tests.
D.
By
asking
teens
to
report
the
exercise
time.
9.
According
to
the
passage,
what
can
affect
a
teen’s
academic
performance?
A.
His
age.
B.
His
mother’s
weight.
C.
His
mother’s
age
at
delivery.
D.
His
birth
date.
10.
What
does
the
underlined
part
in
Paragraph
4
mean?
A.
When
the
children
were
tested
again
at
age
13
B.
When
the
kids
continued
physical
exercise
at
13
C.
When
they
moved
along
with
the
13-year-old
kids
D.
When
they
took
an
interest
in
the
13-year-old
kids
11.
According
to
the
researchers,
how
long
should
the
students
exercise
per
day?
A.
12
minutes
B.
18
minutes
C.
30
minutes
D.
60
minutes
D
Iran’s
Lake
Urmia
was
once
the
second-largest
saltwater
lake
in
the
world,
covering
more
than
2,000
square
miles
at
its
deepest
in
the
1990s.
In
the
past
two
decades,
the
lake
has
dried
out,
shrinking
at
times
to
less
than
20%
of
its
average
size.
It’s
not
a
story
of
climate
change,
though
that
certainly
contributed.
It’s
a
case
of
water
mismanagement.
Scientists
call
it
a
“contemporary
environmental
catastrophe”
to
rethink
how
the
resource
is
managed
in
water-scarce
countries.
Researchers
blame
water
overuse
and
inefficiency
in
agriculture,
new
dams
and
irrigation
projects,
a
bridge
cutting
across
the
lake,
declining
rainfall
and
rising
temperatures
for
much
of
the
drying
out.
“For
me
this
is
a
really
important
topic:
the
environmental
problems
in
the
world,”
says
photographer
Maximilian
Mann,
who
traveled
to
Iran
three
times
to
document
the
bare
land
once
obscured
under
saltwater.
His
photos
are
collected
from
all
three
trips.
In
his
experience,
Mann
says,
it
was
easier
to
find
men
who
were
willing
to
be
photographed
because
many
of
the
women
in
rural
areas
near
Lake
Urmia
“are
more
conservative
than
in
cities
and
don’t
like
being
photographed
by
men.”
So
it’s
important
to
gain
their
belief
when
he
wants
to
take
pictures
of
them.
Lake
researchers
and
advocates
say
there
have
been
encouraging
signs
in
the
past
few
years.
This
past
spring,
massive
flooding
in
Iran
helped
the
lake
regain
water
level
as
well.
Mann’s
photos
were
taken
before
that
flooding.
“The
floods
certainly
helped
and
increased
the
water
levels,”
says
Amir
Agha
Kouchak,
a
professor
of
civil
and
environmental
engineering
at
the
University
of
California,
who
has
studied
the
lake.
“However,
one
or
a
series
of
floods
won’t
have
a
long-term
impact.
The
main
issue
in
the
basin
is
that
the
water
demand
is
much
higher
than
the
renewable
water
in
the
basin.
If
the
water
demand
in
the
basin
is
not
managed,
after
a
while
the
lake
will
continue
to
dry
out.
And
the
situation
remains
really
worrying.”
12.
How
does
the
author
begin
the
text?
A.
By
giving
an
example.
B.
By
describing
an
event.
C.
By
making
a
comparison.
D.
By
conveying
an
opinion.
13.
Why
do
scientists
call
Iran’s
Lake
Urmia
a
“contemporary
environmental
catastrophe”?
A.
To
rebuild
a
new
lake
in
the
lake.
B.
To
represent
its
enormous
influence.
C.
To
ask
people
to
pay
attention
to
climate
change.
D.
To
get
people
to
reflect
upon
water
source
management.
14.
What
plays
an

Gestures
D.
Positions
15.
What
is
Amir
Agha
Kouchak’s

Tea
is
an
important
part
of
Chinese
tradition.
With
the
development
of
Chinese
society
and
economy,
the
scale
of
tea
production
has
been
increasing.
____16____
In
turn,
tea
production
promotes
economic
development
and
tea
culture
promotes
social
progress.
Tea
has
an
extremely
close
relationship
to
Chinese
culture.
And
its
study
covers
a
wide
field
and
has
very
rich
content.
____17____
There
is
no
doubt
that
it
is
beneficial
to
improve
people’s
social
quality
and
artistic
taste.
The
original
idea
is
credited
to
the
legendary
Emperor
Shennong.
He
is
said
to
have
lived
5.000
years
ago.
____18____
He
required
that
all
drinking
water
be
boiled
as
a
health
precaution.
A
story
goes
that
one
summer
day,
while
visiting
a
distant
part
of
his
kingdom,
he
and
the
court
stopped
to
rest.
According
to
his
ruling,
the
servants
began
to
boil
water
for
the
court
to

B
Let’s
be
real,
we
all
have
a
special
place
in
our
heart
for
the
home
(or
homes)
we
grew
up
in.
Think
of
the
place
where
you
learned
to
ride
your
first
bike
or
the
door
frame
where
your
parents
tracked
your
heights.
But
would
that
nostalgia
be
enough
for
you
to
drop
half
a
million
to
buy
back
the
house?
If
you’re
author
J.
K.
Rowling,
and
your
childhood
home
inspired
certain
parts
of
what
would
become
one
of
the
most
well-known
fiction
series
to
ever
exist,
it’s
worth
considering.
As
it
turns
out,
Harry
Potter
author
J.
K.
Rowling
owns
her
childhood
home,
Church
Cottage
at
Tutshill
in
Chepstow,
according
to
the
The
Daily
Mail.
Rowling
had
quietly
bought
it
back
in
2011
for
?400,000.
Now,
the
secret
is
out,
as
this
week,
Rowling
and
her
husband
commissioned
major
renovation
projects
for
it,
after
years
of
no
activity.
The
district
council
has
granted
the
couple
planning
permission
to
install
two
rear
dormer
windows
and
knock
down
and
rebuild
the
garage.
But
let’s
talk
about
that
magic
that
is
Church
Cottage
already.
Rowling
lived
here
from
ages
nine
to
18.
The
home
includes
a
cupboard
under
the
stairs
(sound
familiar?!),
which
is
believed
to
have
been
the
inspiration
for
Harry’s
room
at
the
Dursley
family’s
house.
There
is
also
a
trap
door
in
the
cottage’s
dining
room,
similar
to
the
one
Fluffy
guards
in
Harry
Potter
and
the
Sorcerer’s
Stone.
Also,
the
property
is
near
the
Forest
of
Dean,
where
a
large
part
of
Harry
Potter
and
the
Deathly
Hallows
takes
place.
Over
the
years,
some
wise
fans
were
able

Now
that
the

【分析】这是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了带给了《哈利波特》作者J.
K.
Rowling许多灵感的“教堂小屋”的情况,罗琳在2011年以40万英镑的价格悄悄买下了它,介绍了这座房子与《哈利波特》之间的联系。
【4题详解】
细节理解题。根据第五段中“The
home
includes
a
cupboard
under
the
stairs
(sound
familiar?!),
which
is
believed
to
have
been
the
inspiration
for
Harry’s
room
at
the
Dursley
family’s
house.
There
is
also
a
trap
door
in
the
cottage’s
dining
room,
similar
to
the
one
Fluffy

in
Harry
Potter
and
the
Sorcerer’s
Stone.(这所房子的楼梯下有一个橱柜(听起来很熟悉?!),这被认为是德思礼家哈利房间的灵感来源。小屋的餐厅里也有一个活板门,类似于《哈利波特与魔法石》中路威守卫的那个)”可知,罗琳作品中的很多场景,取材于Church
Cottage,说明她从Church
Cottage中得到了很多灵感。故选A。
【5题详解】

where
a
large
part
of
Harry

and
the
Deathly

takes
place.(这个property靠近迪恩森林,《哈利·波特与死亡圣器》的大部分故事就发生在这里)”可知,上文一直在讲Church
Cottage,罗琳从Church
Cottage中得到了很多关于作品场景的灵感,画线词在此处指的也是“Church
Cottage”。故选D。
【6题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段中“Rowling
had
quietly
bought

Mercer,
the
home’s
former
owner,
told
BBC
back
in
2011.(这座房子的前主人Julian
Mercer在2011年告诉BBC)”可推知,Julian
Mercer
在2011年卖掉了自己的小屋。故选B。
【7题详解】

and
18
minutes
for
girls.
“The
actual

noted.
The

were
most
strongly
linked
to

13,
their
academic

were
still

in
exercise
for
the

was
also
linked
to
an

D
Iran’s
Lake
Urmia
was
once
the
second-largest
saltwater
lake
in
the
world,
covering
more
than
2,000
square
miles
at
its
deepest
in
the
1990s.
In
the
past
two
decades,
the
lake
has
dried
out,
shrinking
at
times
to
less
than
20%
of
its
average
size.
It’s
not
a
story
of
climate
change,
though
that
certainly
contributed.
It’s
a
case
of
water
mismanagement.
Scientists
call
it
a
“contemporary
environmental
catastrophe”
to
rethink
how
the
resource
is
managed
in
water-scarce
countries.
Researchers
blame
water
overuse
and
inefficiency
in
agriculture,
new
dams
and
irrigation
projects,
a
bridge
cutting
across
the
lake,
declining
rainfall
and
rising
temperatures
for
much
of
the
drying
out.
“For
me
this
is
a
really
important
topic:
the
environmental
problems
in
the
world,”
says
photographer
Maximilian
Mann,
who
traveled
to
Iran
three
times
to
document
the
bare
land
once
obscured
under
saltwater.
His
photos
are
collected
from
all
three
trips.
In
his
experience,
Mann
says,
it
was
easier
to
find
men
who
were
willing
to
be
photographed
because
many
of
the
women
in
rural
areas
near
Lake
Urmia
“are
more
conservative
than
in
cities
and
don’t
like
being
photographed
by
men.”
So
it’s
important
to
gain
their
belief
when
he
wants
to
take
pictures
of
them.
Lake
researchers
and
advocates
say
there
have
been
encouraging
signs
in
the
past
few
years.
This
past
spring,
massive
flooding
in
Iran
helped
the
lake
regain
water
level
as
well.
Mann’s
photos
were
taken
before
that
flooding.
“The
floods
certainly
helped
and
increased
the
water
levels,”
says
Amir
Agha
Kouchak,
a
professor
of
civil
and
environmental
engineering
at
the
University
of
California,
who
has
studied
the
lake.
“However,
one
or
a
series
of
floods
won’t
have
a
long-term
impact.
The
main
issue
in
the
basin
is
that
the
water
demand
is
much
higher
than
the
renewable
water
in
the
basin.
If
the
water
demand
in
the
basin
is
not
managed,
after
a
while
the
lake
will
continue
to
dry
out.
And
the
situation
remains
really
worrying.”

B.
By

13.
Why
do

A.
To
rebuild
a

C.
To

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇记叙文。文章通过讲述一位老人的故事,告诉我们每个人都有自己的天赋,只要你有自信,就可以找到展示自己天赋的办法。
【详解】1.考查非谓语动词。句意:当我十岁的时候,长江路拐角处住着一位老人。分析句子可知,“man”与“live”之间为逻辑上的主谓关系,故应用“live”的现在分词“living”在句中作后置定语修饰“man”。故将lived改为living。
2.考查连词。句意:他没有机会在学校学习,但他学会了如何制作木制家具。根据句意可知,句中“他没有机会在学校学习”和“他学会了如何制作木制家具”之间为转折关系,故应用连词“but”连接,“and”表示并列关系,不符合语境。故将and改为but。
3.考查名词。句意:他没有机会在学校学习,但他学会了如何制作木制家具。分析句子可知,句中“furniture”意为“家具”,为不可数名词,不能用不定冠词修饰,故将“a”删除。故删除a。
4.考查固定短语。句意:每次人们去请他解决一些家具问题,他都愿意帮助他们。分析句子可知,句中涉及固定短语“ask
sb.
to
do
sth.”,意为“让某人做某事”,故应在“solve”前加“to”。故在solve前加to。
5.考查时态。句意:每次人们去请他解决一些家具问题,他都愿意帮助他们。根据句意可知,句子描述的是过去发生的事,应用一般过去时,动词要用过去式,“is”的过去式为“was”。故将is改为was。
6.考查名词。句意:在业余时间,他会用小木块做一些玩具。分析句子可知,“piece”为可数名词,意为“片,块”,根据句意可知,制作玩具需要不止一块木头,故应用“piece”的复数形式“pieces”。故将piece改为pieces。
7.考查固定短语。句意:其中一些卖给了玩具店,另一些给了我们。分析句子可知,句中涉及固定短语“some…others…”,意为“一些……,另一些……”,“another”意为“又一,另一”,不符合语境。故将another改为others。
8.考查宾语从句。句意:从这位老人身上,我们可以看到无论你有什么样的天赋,你都可以找到自己的方法来展示你的天赋。分析句子可知,句子为宾语从句,从句作“see”的宾语,从句中缺少“have”的宾语,表示“无论什么”,故应用“whatever”引导从句。故将however改为whatever。
9.考查代词。句意:从这位老人身上,我们可以看到无论你有什么样的天赋,你都可以找到自己的方法来展示你的天赋。根据句中“your
own
method”可知,句中指的是找到你的方法来展示“你的”天赋,“his”意为“他的”,不符合语境,“your”意为“你的”,符合语境。故将his改为your。
