In
1867
when
Canada
was
created,
a
towering
Silver
Maple
tree
standing
in
front
of
Alexander
Muir’s
house
in
Toronto
gave
him
an
idea.
He
would
write
a
poem
and
a
song
about
the
great
tree,
so
common
in
Canada
and
so
symbolic,
to
celebrate
Canada’s
Confederation
(联邦).
His
song
was
called
The
Maple
Leaf
Forever
and
it
has
been
the
unofficial
Canadian
anthem
(国歌)
to
this
day.
Last
July
during
a
major
storm,
the
tree
was
knocked
down.
It
fell
across
a
house
and
a
street.
But
because
it
was
an
important
historic
tree,
most
of
the
wood
was
saved
rather
than
being
destroyed.
Recently
woodworkers
at
The
Evergreen
Brick
Works
in
Toronto,
a
community
projects
centre,
cut
the
wood
into
logs
and
other
usable
pieces.
The
pieces
were
given
to
artists
to
create
about
150
different
projects.
One
artist
took
a
piece
of
tree.
On
it
he’ll
carve
a
series
of
historical
Canadian
views.
Another
wood
carver
is
making
beautiful
round
wooden
bowls.
Yet
another
made
an
interesting
candlestick
from
the
tree’s
branches.
Other
woodworkers
are
making
wood
wig
stands
for
cancer
patients
who
lose
their
hair.
Still
others
are
taking
small
pieces
of
wood
and
making
them
into
pens.
And
some
of
the
wood
was
made
into
gavels
(小木槌)
to
be
used
by
Toronto’
s
city
councilors
(市议员)
.
Some
of
the
projects
will
be
on
public
show
while
some
will
be
personally
owned.
The
people
in
Toronto
who
have
lived
near
the
tree
for
years
and
try
to
protect
it
from
harm
are
very
sad
to
see
the
old
tree
go.
But
they
are
glad
to
see
that
their
maple
tree
will
live
forever
in
the
hearts
and
homes
of
many
people.

This
simple
little
device
is
helping
to
deal
with
one
of
the
most
annoying
symptoms(症状)of
Parkinson’s
disease—and
its
creators
have
just
been
awarded
more
than
1
million
dollars.
Danish
businesswoman
Lise
Pape
was
inspired
to
develop
the
Path
Finder
device
after
her
own
father
developed
Parkinson’s
disease
in
2014.
The
device,
which
is
attached
to
a
patient’s
shoe
and
shines
a
laser
(激光)
onto
the
floor,
helps
to
prevent
“freezing
of
gait”:
a
common
symptom
of
the
disease
which
makes
the
patient
feel
as
if
they
are
unable
to
walk.
“People
describe
it
as
this
feeling
of
being
glued
to
the
floor
and
being
unable
to
step
forward
with
their
feet,
despite
having
the
intention
to
do
so,”
said
Pape.
“In
fact,
70%
of
all
falls
in
Parkinson’s
disease
are
thought
to
be
due
to
this
symptom.”
Surprisingly,
researchers
have
found
that
it
is
easy
for
patients
to
avoid
this
symptom
if
they
have
a
visual
pattern
for
them
to
follow
as
they
walk.
That’s
why
Pape
designed
the
Path
Finder
laser
pointer
to
display
a
bright
green
line
in
front
of
the
wearer’s
feet.
Not
only
do
studies
show
that
the
laser
device
helps
to
reduce
the
frequency
of
freezing
episodes
(发作),
they
also
say
that
the
Path
Finder
reduces
the
length
of
the
episodes
as
well.
Since
Pape
founded
her
Walk
With
Path
company
in
2017,
the
devices
have
been
given
to
individuals
and
healthcare
systems
in
Norway,
Denmark,
Canada,
and
the
UK.
Carlos
Moedas,
Chairman
of
Research
and
Science,
said:
“This
device
makes
a
real
difference
for
senior
citizens
by
helping
them
maintain
an
active
social
life
as
well
as
their
independence.”

Pape
decide

Listening
has
been
critical
to
the
career
of
Richard
Mullender,
who
was
a
British
police
officer
for
30
years.
Eventually
he
became
a
hostage
(人质)
negotiator,
dealing
with
everything
from
crisis
interventions
(调停)
to
international
kidnaps.
When
he
left
the
force
in
2007,
he
realised
that
his
skills
might
be
applicable
in
the
business
world.
So
he
set
up
a
firm
called
the
Listening
Institute.
Many
people
think
that
good
listening
is
about
nodding
your
head
or
keeping
eye
contact.
But
that
is
not
really
listening,
Mr
Mullender
argues.
A
good
listener
is
always
looking
for
facts,
emotions
and
indications
of
the
speaker’s
values.
And
when
it
comes
to
a
negotiation,
people
are
looking
for
an
outcome.
The
aim
of
listening
is
to
find
out
what
the
other
side
is
trying
to
achieve.
The
mistake
many
people
make
is
to
ask
too
many
questions,
rather
than
letting
the
other
person
talk.
The
listener’s
focus
should
be
on
analysis.
If
you
are
trying
to
persuade
someone
to
do
something,
you
need
to
know
what
their
beliefs
are.
If
someone
is
upset,
you
need
to
assess
their
emotional
state.
Of
course,
a
listener
needs
to
speak
occasionally.
One
approach
is
to
make
an
assessment
of
what
the
other
person
is
telling
you
and
then
check
it
with
them.
That
gives
the
other
party
a
sense
that
they
are
being
understood.
The
fundamental
aim
is
to
build
up
a
relationship
so
the
other
person
likes
you
and
trusts
you,
Mr
Mullender
says.
The
pandemic
(瘟疫)
has
meant
that
most
business
conversations
now
take
place
on
the
phone
or
online.
Some
might
think
this
makes
listening
more
difficult;
it
is
harder
to
pick
up
the
cues
that
people
reveal
in
their
facial
expressions
and
body
language.
But
Mr
Mullender
says
that
too
much
is
made
of
body
language.
It
is
much
easier
to
understand
someone
if
you
can
hear
them
but
not
see
them,
than
if
you
can
see
but
not
hear
them.

Mullender

In
1867

Canada
was
created,
a
towering
Silver
Maple

standing
in

of
Alexander
Muir’s

in
Toronto
gave
him
an
idea.
He
would
write
a

to
celebrate
Canada’s

His

and
it

been
the
unofficial
Canadian

(国歌)
to
this
day.
Last
July
during
a
major
storm,
the
tree
was
knocked
down.
It
fell
across
a
house
and
a
street.
But
because
it
was
an
important

tree,
most
of
the

was
saved
rather
than
being
destroyed.
Recently
woodworkers
at
The
Evergreen

in
Toronto,

cut
the
wood
into
logs
and
other
usable
pieces.
The
pieces
were
given
to
artists
to
create
about
150
different

One
artist
took
a

On
it
he’ll

Another

Still
others

Some
of

The

This
simple
little
device
is
helping
to
deal
with
one
of
the
most
annoying
symptoms(症状)of
Parkinson’s
disease—and
its
creators
have
just
been
awarded
more
than
1
million
dollars.
Danish
businesswoman
Lise
Pape
was
inspired
to
develop
the
Path
Finder
device
after
her
own
father
developed
Parkinson’s
disease
in
2014.
The
device,
which
is
attached
to
a
patient’s
shoe
and
shines
a
laser
(激光)
onto
the
floor,
helps
to
prevent
“freezing
of
gait”:
a
common
symptom
of
the
disease
which
makes
the
patient
feel
as
if
they
are
unable
to
walk.
“People
describe
it
as
this
feeling
of
being
glued
to
the
floor
and
being
unable
to
step
forward
with
their
feet,
despite
having
the
intention
to
do
so,”
said
Pape.
“In
fact,
70%
of
all
falls
in
Parkinson’s
disease
are
thought
to
be
due
to
this
symptom.”
Surprisingly,
researchers
have
found
that
it
is
easy
for
patients
to
avoid
this
symptom
if
they
have
a
visual
pattern
for
them
to
follow
as
they
walk.
That’s
why
Pape
designed
the
Path
Finder
laser
pointer
to
display
a
bright
green
line
in
front
of
the
wearer’s
feet.
Not
only
do
studies
show
that
the
laser
device
helps
to
reduce
the
frequency
of
freezing
episodes
(发作),
they
also
say
that
the
Path
Finder
reduces
the
length
of
the
episodes
as
well.
Since
Pape
founded
her
Walk
With
Path
company
in
2017,
the
devices
have
been
given
to
individuals
and
healthcare
systems
in
Norway,
Denmark,
Canada,
and
the
UK.
Carlos
Moedas,
Chairman
of
Research
and
Science,
said:
“This
device
makes
a
real
difference
for
senior
citizens
by
helping
them
maintain
an
active
social
life
as
well
as
their
independence.”
8.

made
Lise
Pape
decide
to
invent
the
Path
Finder?

Her
father’s
expectations
of
her.
C.
Her
desire
to
win
the

【解析】
【分析】本文是一篇新闻报道。
Lise
Pape的父亲患有帕金森症,因此地决定研究一款可以帮助帕金森症患者的仪器,于是Path
Finder诞生了。这个小小的仪器安装在病人的鞋子上,利用激光发射器在病人的脚前照射一道绿光,通过这样的视觉引导来预防步态冻结发作,辅助患者行走。
【8题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段的“Lise

Path
Finder
device
after
her
own
father
developed
Parkinson's

in2014.(
Lise
Pape的灵感来自于她的父亲2014年患上帕金森症。)”可知,Lise
Pape的父亲患有帕金森症,因此她决定发明一个可以帮助帕金森症病人的装置。故选A。
【9题详解】
词义猜测题。根据上文的“…helps

of
the
disease
which
makes
the
patient
feel
as
if
they

Finder也减少了冻结期的长度。)”可推断,这款装置可以减少步态冻结发作的频率和发作时长。故选C。
【11题详解】
推理判断题。根据最后一段的“This
device
makes
a
real
difference
for
senior

well
as
their
independence.(
这种设备对老年人来说真的很重要,它能帮助他们保持积极的社交生活和独立性。)”可推断,Carlos
Moedas认为这款装置非常棒。故选A。

Listening
has
been
critical
to
the
career
of
Richard
Mullender,
who
was
a
British
police
officer
for
30
years.
Eventually
he
became
a
hostage
(人质)
negotiator,
dealing
with
everything
from
crisis
interventions
(调停)
to
international
kidnaps.
When
he
left
the
force
in
2007,
he
realised
that
his
skills
might
be
applicable
in
the
business
world.
So
he
set
up
a
firm
called
the
Listening
Institute.
Many
people
think
that
good
listening
is
about
nodding
your
head
or
keeping
eye
contact.
But
that
is
not
really
listening,
Mr
Mullender
argues.
A
good
listener
is
always
looking
for
facts,
emotions
and
indications
of
the
speaker’s
values.
And
when
it
comes
to
a
negotiation,
people
are
looking
for
an
outcome.
The
aim
of
listening
is
to
find
out
what
the
other
side
is
trying
to
achieve.
The
mistake
many
people
make
is
to
ask
too
many
questions,
rather
than
letting
the
other
person
talk.
The
listener’s
focus
should
be
on
analysis.
If
you
are
trying
to
persuade
someone
to
do
something,
you
need
to
know
what
their
beliefs
are.
If
someone
is
upset,
you
need
to
assess
their
emotional
state.
Of
course,
a
listener
needs
to
speak
occasionally.
One
approach
is
to
make
an
assessment
of
what
the
other
person
is
telling
you
and
then
check
it
with
them.
That
gives
the
other
party
a
sense
that
they
are
being
understood.
The
fundamental
aim
is
to
build
up
a
relationship
so
the
other
person
likes
you
and
trusts
you,
Mr
Mullender
says.
The
pandemic
(瘟疫)
has
meant
that
most
business
conversations
now
take
place
on
the
phone
or
online.
Some
might
think
this
makes
listening
more
difficult;
it
is
harder
to
pick
up
the
cues
that
people
reveal
in
their
facial
expressions
and
body
language.
But
Mr
Mullender
says
that
too
much
is
made
of
body
language.
It
is
much
easier
to
understand
someone
if
you
can
hear
them
but
not
see
them,
than
if
you
can
see
but
not
hear
them.
12.
What
do
we
know
about
Mr.
Mullender
in
paragraph
1?
A.
He
protected
kids
internationally.
B.
He
helped
prevent
potential
dangers.
C.
He
ensured
security
of
the
British
police
.
D.
He
founded
a
company
before
leaving
the
army.
13.
What
is
the
aim
of
listening
in
negotiations?
A.
To
look
for
facts
and
emotions.
B.
To
show
approval
by
nodding
head.
C.
To
indicate
the
speaker’s
values.
D.
To
find
out
what
the
speaker
wants.
14.
What
is
a
proper
way
for
a
listener
to
follow?
A.
Comment
frequently.
B.
Put
himself
in
the
speaker’s
shoes.
C.
Speak
as
little
as
possible.
D.
Question
the
speaker’s
content.
15.
What

”可知,要设身处地的理解被倾听者,可得出倾听者要遵循的一个正确方法是站在对方的立场。故选B。
【15题详解】

【分析】本文是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了中国最著名的科学家之一袁隆平致力于科学研究的事迹。
【51题详解】
考查名词性从句。句意:中国最著名的科学家之一袁隆平种植了被称为超级杂交水稻的东西。设空处引导宾语从句,从句中缺少主语,此处意为“称为超级杂交水稻的东西”,表示“……的东西”应用what引导该从句。故填what。
【52题详解】
考查时态。句意:1953年,袁隆平大学毕业。根据时间状语In
1953可知,此处叙述过去的事情,应用一般过去时。故填
graduated。
【53题详解】
考查冠词。句意:作为一个年轻人,他看到了增加水稻产量的巨大需求。此处泛指“一个年轻人”,应用不定冠词,young的发音是以辅音音素开头。故填a。
【54题详解】
考查代词。句意:从那时起,他一直致力于在不扩大田地面积的基础上种出更多的水稻。devote
oneself
to
sth.为固定搭配,意为“致力于某事”,主语为he,此处应用反身代词
himself作宾语。故填
himself。
【55题详解】
考查形容词。句意:1973年,他成为世界上第一个种植这种特殊水稻的农业先驱,这种水稻在同一块土地上的产量可以提高20%。设空处修饰名词pioneer,应用形容词形式。故填agricultural。

satisfied
with
sth为固定搭配,意为“对某事感到满意”。故填with。

【解析】
【分析】本文是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了作者暑假计划,作者打算充分利用暑假充实自我。
【详解】1.考查副词。句意:暑假快到了。near作副词可以表示时间空间程度上的接近,而副词nearly一般仅指程度上接近。故将nearly改为near。
2.考查介词。句意:我感到高兴,因为我将有更多的时间来利用。固定短语make
good
use
of
(更好地利用),加上介词of。故在use后加of。
3.考查副词。句意:有这么多事情要做,我制定了一个计划。当名词之前有few,
many,
little,
much修饰时,只能用so,而不用such。故将such改为so。
4.考查形容词。句意:首先,我会坚持锻炼,保持健康。固定短语stay
healthy
(保持健康),stay作为“保持”时,为系动词,后接形容词。故将health改为healthy。
5.考查名词的数。句意:第二,我会去看望我的祖父母,因为我非常想念他们。根据句中的them可知,这里是指祖父母,用复数形式。故将grandparent改为grandparents。
6.考查代词。句意:是他们把我养大的。分析句子结构可知,本句为强调句,且强调的是主语,所以用代词主格形式they。故将them改为they。
7.考查动名词。句意:第三,我会花时间复习笔记。固定短语devote
sth.
to
doing
(投入某物做某事),go用动名词形式。故将go改为going。
8.考查宾语从句。句意:我将复习老师教过我的东西。分析句子结构可知,宾语从句中动词taught后缺少宾语,指物,意为“……的东西”,所以用what引导宾语从句。故将that改为what。
9.考查连词。句意:通过我的努力,我一定会取得进步。前面是介词短语Through
my
hard
work作状语,所以不需要连接词,and多余。故去掉and。
10.考查冠词。句意:我期待有一个难忘而有意义的假期。可数名词holiday是单数形式,泛指且形容词unforgettable发音是以元音音素开头,用不定冠词an。故将a改为an。
