Thomas
Panek
has
completed
20
marathons,
however,
he
made
history
on
Sunday
at
the
New
York
City
Half
Marathon.
While
visually
impaired(视觉障碍)runners
usually
use
human
guides,
Mr
Panek
became
the
first
person
to
complete
the
race
supported
by
guide
dogs.
A
trio
of
Labradors
-
Westley,
Waffle
and
Gus
-
each
accompanied
(陪伴)
him
for
a
third
of
the
race.
The
team
finished
in
two
hours
and
21
minutes.
Mr
Panek,
who
lost
his
sight
in
his
early
20s,
showed
that
while
he
appreciated
the
support
of
human
volunteers,
he
missed
the
feeling
of
independence.
In
2015,
Mr
Panek
established
the
Running
Guides
programme
which
trains
dogs
to
support
runners.
When
selecting
his
companions
for
the
race,
Mr
Panek
chose
siblings
Waffle
and
Westley
to
join
Gus,
who
is
his
full-time
guide
dog.
“The
relationship
is
really
important.
You
can’t
just
pick
up
the
harness
(挽带)
and
go
for
a
run
with
these
dogs,”
Mr
Panek
said.
“You’re
training
with
a
team
no
matter
what
kind
of
athlete
you
are,
and
you
want
to
spend
time
together
in
that
training
camp.”
Each
dogs
sets
its
own
pace
—
Westley
runs
an
eight
minute
mile,
while
his
sister
Waffle
can
cover
the
same
distance
in
six
minutes—and
helps
Mr
Panek
avoid
obstacles
such
as
kerbs(路缘)and
cones
(椎体).
Each
dog
wears
a
special
harness
and
set
of
running
boots,
to
protect
their
paws.
Gus
was
chosen
to
run
the
final
leg
of
the
race
and
cross
the
finish
line
with
Mr
Panek.
He
retired
from
his
duties
as
a
guide
dog
at
the
end
of
the
race.
According
to
Mr
Panek,
guide
dogs
give
visually
impaired
people
the
freedom
to
“do
whatever
it
is
a
sighted
person
does,
and
sometimes,
even
run
a
little
faster
than
them”.
4.
In
which

finished
the
competition
with
help
of
human
volunteers.
D.

is
the
first
blind
person
finishing
half
marathon
with
guide
dogs.

C
The
idea
of
turning
recycled
plastic
bottles
into
clothing
is
not
new.
During
the
past
five
years,
a
large
number
of
clothing
companies,
businesses
and
environmental
organizations
have
started
turning
plastics
into
fabric
to
deal
with
plastic
pollution.
But
there’s
a
problem
with
this
method.
Research
now
shows
that
microfibers
(微纤维)
could
be
the
biggest
source
of
plastic
in
the
sea.
Dr.
Mark
Browne
in
Santa
Barbara,
California,
has
been
studying
plastic
pollution
and
microfibers
for
10
years.
He
explains
that
every
time
synthetic
(合成的)
clothes
go
into
a
washing
machine,
a
large
number
of
plastic
fibers
fall
off.
Most
washing
machines
can’t
collect
these
microfibers.
So
every
time
the
water
gets
out
of
a
washing
machine,
microfibers
enter
the
sewer
and
finally
end
up
in
the
sea.
In
2011,
Browne
wrote
a
paper
stating
that
a
single
piece
of
synthetic
clothing
can
produce
more
than
1,900
fibers
per
wash.
Browne
collected
samples
(样本)
from
seawater
and
freshwater
sites
around
the
world,
and
used
a
special
way
to
examine
each
sample.
He
discovered
that
every
single
water
sample
contained
microfibers.
This
is
bad
news
for
a
number
of
reasons.
Plastic
can
cause
harm
to
sea
life
when
eaten.
Studies
have
also
shown
that
plastic
can
absorb
(吸收)
other
pollutants.
Based
on
this
evidence,
it
may
seem
surprising
that
companies
and
organizations
have
chosen
to
turn
plastic
waste
into
clothing
as
an
environmental
“solution”.
Even
though
the
science
has
been
around
for
a
while,
Browne
explains
that
he’s
had
a
difficult
time
getting
companies
to
listen.
When
he
asked
well-known
clothing
companies
to
support
Benign
by
Design,
his
research
project
that
seeks
to
get
clothes
that
have
a
bad
effect
on
humans
and
the
environment
out
of
the
market,
Browne
didn’t
get
a
satisfying
answer.
Only
one
women’s
clothing
company,
Eileen
Fisher,
offered
Browne
funding.
8.
What
can
we
learn
from
the
first
paragraph?
A.
The
use
of
plastic
bottle
has
been
reduced
in
the
past
five
years.
B.
Turning
recycled
plastic
bottles
into
clothing
hasn’t
been
put
into
practice.
C.
New
microfibers
have
been
discovered.
D.
Making
clothes
from
plastic
bottles
can’t
reduce
the
pollution.
9.
What’s
the
main
idea
of
the
second
paragraph?
A.
The
relationship
between
plastic
pollution
and
microfibers.
B.
How
microfibers
end
up
in
the
sea.
C.
How
to
wash
synthetic
clothes.
D.
How
to
prevent
plastic
pollution.
10.
How
does
Browne’s
Benign
by
Design
research
project
run?
A.
It
has
achieved
great
success.
B.
It
is
facing
some
difficulties.
C.
It
is
known
to
very
few
people.
D.
It
hasn’t
got
anything
done.
11.
What’s
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.
Microfibers,
the
biggest
source
of
plastic
in
the
sea
B.
Recycled
plastic
clothing:
solution
or
pollution?
C.
Environmental
protection
:
moving
forward
or
backward?
D.
Turning
recycled
plastic
bottles
into
clothing,
a
new
step
in
environmental
protection
【答案】8.

【解析】
这是一篇说明文。文章主要讲述了在处理塑料污染方面,把可回收塑料重组成衣服的一部分不失为一个好办法,但研究表明,合成型衣服的清洗会产生大量纤维,其中微纤维对海洋环境的危害最为严重。
【8题详解】
推理判断题。第一段提到“在过去的五年里,大量的服装公司、企业和环保组织已经开始将塑料变成织物来处理塑料污染。但是这种方法有个问题”,结合本段最后一句“Research
now
shows
that
microfibers
(微纤维)
could
be
the
biggest
source
of
plastic
in
the
sea.(研究表明,微纤维可能是海洋塑料的最大来源)”可推知,用塑料瓶制作衣服不能减少污染,故选D项。
【9题详解】
段落大意题。第二段内容提到“每一次合成的衣服放进洗衣机,大量的塑料纤维脱落。大部分洗衣机无法聚集这些微纤维”,结合本段最后一句“So
every
time
the
water
gets
out
of
a
washing
machine,
microfibers
enter
the
sewer
and
finally
end
up
in
the
sea.(所以每次洗衣机排水,微纤维就进入下水道,最后流入海洋)”可知,第二段主要是讲微纤维最后如何流入海洋。故选B项。
【10题详解】
推理判断题。由最后一段“When
he
asked
well-known
clothing
companies
to
support
Benign
by
Design,
his
research
project
that
seeks
to
get
clothes
that
have
a
bad
effect
on
humans
and
the
environment
out
of
the
market,
Browne
didn’t
get
a
satisfying
answer.”可知,在Browne要求世界知名制衣公司支持把对人类和环境有危害的衣服撤出市场的研究项目时,Browne并没有得到一个令人满意的答案。由此可推知,他的研究项目Benign
by
Design遇到了难题,故选B项。
【11题详解】
主旨大意题。通读全文,并结合由第一段第二句“
During
the
last
five
years,
a
large
number
of
clothing
companies,
businesses
and
environmental
organizations
have
started
turning
plastics
into
fabric
to
deal
with
plastic
pollution.(在过去的五年里,大量的服装公司、企业和环保组织已经开始将塑料变成织物来处理塑料污染)”和第一段最后一句“Research
now
shows
that
microfibers
could
be
the
biggest
source
of
plastic
in
the
sea.(研究显示,微纤维可能是海洋塑料的最大来源)”,由此可知,文章就这项技术究竟是对环境的保护还是对环境的再次污染进行说明。故B项“回收塑料服装:是解决方案还是污染?”能够概括文章中心,可作为标题。故选B项。
D
Don’t
know
how
to
take
care
of
your
plants?
A
little
spider-like
robot
will
chase
the
sunlight,
run
to
shade,
dance
when
it’s
doing
well
and
stomp
(跺脚)
when
it
needs
to
be
watered.
It’s
called
the
HEXA
Plant,
a
six-legged
machine
created
by
Vincross,
a
robotics
company
in
Beijing,
China.
The
robot
plant
will
crawl
toward
the
sunlight
when
it
needs
it,
then
will
rotate
(转动)
when
it
enjoys
the
sun
in
order
to
absorb
its
rays
on
all
sides.
When
it
needs
to
cool
off,
it
will
look
for
shade.
It
also
plays
with
humans
and
dances
when
it
is
happy,
moving
its
legs
up
and
down.
But
it
gets
“angry”
when
it’s
thirsty
by
stomping
its
legs.
With
six
legs,
the
HEXA
Plant
can
move
anywhere-in
any
direction
and
around
any
objects
in
its
path.
It’s
even
nimble
enough
to
navigate
(导航)
unexpected
drops,
like
if
it
had
to
suddenly
step
over
a
gap
between
two
tabletops.
It
has
a
variety
of
“eyes”,
including
an
infrared
sensor
(红外线感应器),
a
distance
sensor,
and
a
720p
camera
with
night
vision,
which
could
be
very
handy
if
you
want
it
to
send
it
out
like
a
guard
dog
at
night,
to
go
check
on
any
sudden
noises.
It
has
a
built-in
Wifi
as
well
as
various
ports
(USB)
to
expand
its
many
talents.
So
sure,
it’
s
not
as
cute
as
a
garden
gnome
(守护精灵),
but
it
can
do
a
lot
more
than
just
stand
there
and
look
cute.
The
inventor
of
the
cute
robot,
Sun
Tiangi,
was
inspired
by
a
dead
sunflower.
He
had
idea
why
it
died-whether
it
was
because
of
the
lack
of
sunshine
or
water.
That’s
when
he
had
the
idea
for
the
walking
plant.
He
says
plants
are
passive.
He
wants
to
allow
plants
to
experience
movement.
12.
What
can’t
the
HEXA
Plant
do?
A.
Find
a
cool
place
when
it
feels
hot.
B.
Play
with
people.
C.
Drink
water
when
it’s
thirsty.
D.
Move
in
any
direction.
13.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“nimble”
in
the
forth
paragraph
mean?
A.
Happy.
B.
Clever.
C.
Angry.
D.
Passive.
14.
What
inspired
Sun
Tianqi
to
invent
the
HEXA
Plant?
A.
A
walking
plant.
B.
A
dead
sunflower.
C
Sunshine
and
water.
D.
A
strange
animal.
15.
Where
can
we
most
probably
read
the
passage?
A.
In
an
advertisement.
B.
In
a
novel.
C.
In
a
science
magazine.
D.
In
a
storybook.

the
HEXA
Plant

any
direction…(HEXA有六条腿,可以向任何方向移动到任何地方……)”可知,HEXA植物可以找凉快的地方,和人类一起玩,向任何方向转动,C项“渴的时候会喝水”文章未提及,故选C项。
【13题详解】
词义猜测题。根据第四段第二句中“like
if
it
had
to

step
over
a

between
two
tabletops(像如果它不得不突然跨越两个桌面之间的空隙)”可知,划线词所在句“It’s
even
nimble
enough
to
navigate
(导航)
unexpected
drops”意为“它甚至足够聪明导航意料之外的跌落”,所以划线词“nimble”意为“聪明的”,故选B项。
【14题详解】
细节理解题。根据最后一段第一句“The
inventor
of
the
cute
robot,
Sun
Tiangi,
was
inspired
by
a
dead
sunflower.”可知,孙天琪是受到一个枯死的向日葵的启发,发明了HEXA植物。故选B项。
【15题详解】
推理判断题。通读全文,结合第二段“It’s
called
the
HEXA
Plant,
a
six-legged
machine
created
by
Vincross,
a
robotics
company
in
Beijing,
China.(它被称为HEXA植物,是由中国北京一家机器人公司Vincross创造的一个四条腿的机器人)”可知,本文主要讲述了一个机器人植物,我们最可能在科学杂志上读到。故选C项。

【解析】
这是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了一些影响环境的娱乐项目,以及对环境影响较小的运动项目,最后鼓励人们多参加那些环保型,耗费资源少的项目来保护环境,倡导绿色运动。
【16题详解】
根据空后“然而,无论你是在山上,在波浪中,或者在草地上,你都应该意识到你的运动选择可能对环境有极大的影响”可知,空处与后一句是转折关系,且应提到了有关运动,所以D项“运动可以使你保持健康,与大自然接触”切题,故选D项。
【17题详解】
根据空前“所有种类的化学物质和大量的能源被用来保持它的球场处于良好的条件”可知,
B项“这引起重大的环境影响”承接上文,符合语境,B项中“This”指代空前一句的内容,且空后“例如,在葡萄牙和西班牙的干燥地区,高尔夫通常对当地的水资源短缺负责”是举例说明高尔夫引起的环境问题,是对B项的举例说明,上下文衔接紧密,故选B项。
【18题详解】
空处位于句首,是段落主题句,根据本段内容“疾走是它们其中之一,你可以每天进行。除了一双好鞋,你不需要任何特殊设备;你不必担心资源问题和你的钱包”可知,本段是讲对环境友好的一些运动,所以C项“有很多环境友好型的运动”切题,空后一句中的“them”指代C项中“environment-friendly
sports”,故选C项。
【19题详解】
空前一句“既简单又自由,疾走也可以让你保持健康”提到疾走对健康的好处,E项“如果你定期行走,它会对你的心脏和骨骼有好处”进一步具体阐明疾走的好处,与空前形成递进关系,E项中的“walk
regularly”与空后一句中“20
minutes
of
power
walking
daily”呼应,上下文衔接自然,故选E项。
【20题详解】
本段第二句提到But
the
final
goal
should
be
“green
gyms”.(但是最后的目标应该是“绿色健身房”),接下来提到“绿色健身房”的好处,“它们是传统健康俱乐部和现代运动中心更好的替代物。绿色健身房的运动员在户外,在乡村或者在其他开放的空间进行运动”,结合空后一句“最好的就是,它是免费的”可知,F项“对于成为会员没有特殊要求”切题,也是绿色健身房的好处之一,故选F项。

【解析】
本文是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了Jack的爷爷要退休的时候Jack送给了他一个礼物,全职爷爷的新名片,爷爷非常感动的故事。
【36题详解】
考查省略句。句意:有一天,杰克的父母告诉他爷爷工作四十年就会退休了,而且他们要为他举行一个让他惊喜的聚会。分析句子可知…his
grandpa
would
retire
after
working
for
forty
years是个省略句,如果还原为完整的句子为:…
his
grandpa
would
retire
after
he
worked
/had
worked
for
forty
years.但由于主、从句主语一致时可省略从句的主语,而从句的谓语动词与主语是主动关系,要用动词的ing形式。因此可填working
/
having
worked
。
【37题详解】
考查并列连词。分析句子可知杰克的父母告诉他的是两句话,因此要用and来连接。
【38题详解】
考查介词。句意:杰克爱他的爷爷,想为他做点特别的事。do
sth.
for
sb为某人做某事,
因此本空填介词for。
【39题详解】
考查谓语动词的时态和语态。句意:他想起了爷爷两年前给他的名片。根据本句可知,给(give)是发生在remembered之前的事,因此是过去的过去,要用过去完成时。因此要用had
given。
【40题详解】
考查固定搭配。句意:他知道他的祖父将不再拥有那张名片上的职位,所以他决定为他的爷爷做一张新的。decide
to
do
sth.为固定搭配,决定/决心做某事。根据句意可知要用动词不定式。因此要用to
build。
【41题详解】
考查冠词。句意:当大喜的日子来临时,杰克已经准备好了卡片。分析句子可知是特指举行party那天,要用定冠词the。
【42题详解】
考查动词的时态。句意:其他人离开时,他握着爷爷的手,把礼物送给了他。从句意可知,本文讲述的是过去的事,因此要用一般过去时。故用took。
【43题详解】
考查副词。句意:杰克激动地说。根据句子可知,excite是修饰动词said,而修饰动词的要用副词,因此要用其副词形式excitedly。
【44题详解】
考查定语从句的关系词。句意:这是一张名片,上面写着他的新职位:全职爷爷!分析句子It
was
a
business
card
on____
was
his
new
position可知,a
business
card是先行词,先行词在定语从句中作on的宾语,如放入句中为
on
the
card
was
his
new
position,因此要用which。
【45题详解】
考查最高级。句意:嗯,我想那意味着我是世界上最富有的人。根据句意可知,是世界上是富有的人,要用最高级,因此用rich的最高级
richest。故填richest。

B
Thomas
Panek
has
completed
20
marathons,
however,
he
made
history
on
Sunday
at
the
New
York
City
Half
Marathon.
While
visually
impaired(视觉障碍)runners
usually
use
human
guides,
Mr
Panek
became
the
first
person
to
complete
the
race
supported
by
guide
dogs.
A
trio
of
Labradors
-
Westley,
Waffle
and
Gus
-
each
accompanied
(陪伴)
him
for
a
third
of
the
race.
The
team
finished
in
two
hours
and
21
minutes.
Mr
Panek,
who
lost
his
sight
in
his
early
20s,
showed
that
while
he
appreciated
the
support
of
human
volunteers,
he
missed
the
feeling
of
independence.
In
2015,
Mr
Panek
established
the
Running
Guides
programme
which
trains
dogs
to
support
runners.
When
selecting
his
companions
for
the
race,
Mr
Panek
chose
siblings
Waffle
and
Westley
to
join
Gus,
who
is
his
full-time
guide
dog.
“The
relationship
is
really
important.
You
can’t
just
pick
up
the
harness
(挽带)
and
go
for
a
run
with
these
dogs,”
Mr
Panek
said.
“You’re
training
with
a
team
no
matter
what
kind
of
athlete
you
are,
and
you
want
to
spend
time
together
in
that
training
camp.”
Each
dogs
sets
its
own
pace
—
Westley
runs
an
eight
minute
mile,
while
his
sister
Waffle
can
cover
the
same
distance
in
six
minutes—and
helps
Mr
Panek
avoid
obstacles
such
as
kerbs(路缘)and
cones
(椎体).
Each
dog
wears
a
special
harness
and
set
of
running
boots,
to
protect
their
paws.
Gus
was
chosen
to
run
the
final
leg
of
the
race
and
cross
the
finish
line
with
Mr
Panek.
He
retired
from
his
duties
as
a
guide
dog
at
the
end
of
the
race.
According
to
Mr
Panek,
guide
dogs
give
visually
impaired
people
the
freedom
to
“do
whatever
it
is
a
sighted
person
does,
and
sometimes,
even
run
a
little
faster
than
them”.
4.
In
which
way
did
Thomas
Panek
make
history?
A.
He
set
a
new
record
of
time
in
running
the
half
marathon.
B.
He
is
the
first
blind
person

take
part
in
the
marathon.

human
volunteers.
D.
He
is
the
first
blind
person
finishing
half
marathon
with
guide
dogs.
5.

running
with
human
volunteers.
C.

got
the
gold
medal
at
the
New
York
City
Half
Marathon.
6.

Panek’s
full-time
guide
dog.

The
passage

______.
A.
an
essay
B.
a
news
report
C.
a
biography
D.
a
review
C
The
idea
of
turning
recycled
plastic
bottles
into
clothing
is
not
new.
During
the
past
five
years,
a
large
number
of
clothing
companies,
businesses
and
environmental
organizations
have
started
turning
plastics
into
fabric
to
deal
with
plastic
pollution.
But
there’s
a
problem
with
this
method.
Research
now
shows
that
microfibers
(微纤维)
could
be
the
biggest
source
of
plastic
in
the
sea.
Dr.
Mark
Browne
in
Santa
Barbara,
California,
has
been
studying
plastic
pollution
and
microfibers
for
10
years.
He
explains
that
every
time
synthetic
(合成的)
clothes
go
into
a
washing
machine,
a
large
number
of
plastic
fibers
fall
off.
Most
washing
machines
can’t
collect
these
microfibers.
So
every
time
the
water
gets
out
of
a
washing
machine,
microfibers
enter
the
sewer
and
finally
end
up
in
the
sea.
In
2011,
Browne
wrote
a
paper
stating
that
a
single
piece
of
synthetic
clothing
can
produce
more
than
1,900
fibers
per
wash.
Browne
collected
samples
(样本)
from
seawater
and
freshwater
sites
around
the
world,
and
used
a
special
way
to
examine
each
sample.
He
discovered
that
every
single
water
sample
contained
microfibers.
This
is
bad
news
for
a
number
of
reasons.
Plastic
can
cause
harm
to
sea
life
when
eaten.
Studies
have
also
shown
that
plastic
can
absorb
(吸收)
other
pollutants.
Based
on
this
evidence,
it
may
seem
surprising
that
companies
and
organizations
have
chosen
to
turn
plastic
waste
into
clothing
as
an
environmental
“solution”.
Even
though
the
science
has
been
around
for
a
while,
Browne
explains
that
he’s
had
a
difficult
time
getting
companies
to
listen.
When
he
asked
well-known
clothing
companies
to
support
Benign
by
Design,
his
research
project
that
seeks
to
get
clothes
that
have
a
bad
effect
on
humans
and
the
environment
out
of
the
market,
Browne
didn’t
get
a
satisfying
answer.
Only
one
women’s
clothing
company,
Eileen
Fisher,
offered
Browne
funding.
8.
What
can
we
learn
from
the
first
paragraph?
A.
The
use
of
plastic
bottle
has
been
reduced
in
the
past
five
years.
B.
Turning
recycled
plastic
bottles
into
clothing
hasn’t
been
put
into
practice.
C.
New
microfibers
have
been
discovered.
D.
Making
clothes
from
plastic
bottles
can’t
reduce
the
pollution.
9.
What’s
the
main
idea
of
the
second
paragraph?
A.
The
relationship
between
plastic
pollution
and
microfibers.
B.
How
microfibers
end
up
in
the
sea.
C.
How
to
wash
synthetic
clothes.
D.
How
to
prevent
plastic
pollution.
10.
How
does
Browne’s
Benign
by
Design
research
project
run?
A.
It
has
achieved
great
success.
B.
It
is
facing
some
difficulties.
C.
It
is
known
to
very
few
people.
D.
It
hasn’t
got
anything
done.
11.
What’s
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.
Microfibers,
the
biggest
source
of
plastic
in
the
sea
B.
Recycled
plastic
clothing:
solution
or
pollution?
C.
Environmental
protection
:
moving
forward
or
backward?
D.
Turning
recycled
plastic
bottles
into
clothing,
a
new
step
in
environmental
protection
D
Don’t
know
how
to
take
care
of
your
plants?
A
little
spider-like
robot
will
chase
the
sunlight,
run
to
shade,
dance
when
it’s
doing
well
and
stomp
(跺脚)
when
it
needs
to
be
watered.
It’s
called
the
HEXA
Plant,
a
six-legged
machine
created
by
Vincross,
a
robotics
company
in
Beijing,
China.
The
robot
plant
will
crawl
toward
the
sunlight
when
it
needs
it,
then
will
rotate
(转动)
when
it
enjoys
the
sun
in
order
to
absorb
its
rays
on
all
sides.
When
it
needs
to
cool
off,
it
will
look
for
shade.
It
also
plays
with
humans
and
dances
when
it
is
happy,
moving
its
legs
up
and
down.
But
it
gets
“angry”
when
it’s
thirsty
by
stomping
its
legs.
With
six
legs,
the
HEXA
Plant
can
move
anywhere-in
any
direction
and
around
any
objects
in
its
path.
It’s
even
nimble
enough
to
navigate
(导航)
unexpected
drops,
like
if
it
had
to
suddenly
step
over
a
gap
between
two
tabletops.
It
has
a
variety
of
“eyes”,
including
an
infrared
sensor
(红外线感应器),
a
distance
sensor,
and
a
720p
camera
with
night
vision,
which
could
be
very
handy
if
you
want
it
to
send
it
out
like
a
guard
dog
at
night,
to
go
check
on
any
sudden
noises.
It
has
a
built-in
Wifi
as
well
as
various
ports
(USB)
to
expand
its
many
talents.
So
sure,
it’
s
not
as
cute
as
a
garden
gnome
(守护精灵),
but
it
can
do
a
lot
more
than
just
stand
there
and
look
cute.
The
inventor
of
the
cute
robot,
Sun
Tiangi,
was
inspired
by
a
dead
sunflower.
He
had
idea
why
it
died-whether
it
was
because
of
the
lack
of
sunshine
or
water.
That’s
when
he
had
the
idea
for
the
walking
plant.
He
says
plants
are
passive.
He
wants
to
allow
plants
to
experience
movement.
12.
What
can’t
the
HEXA
Plant
do?
A.
Find
a
cool
place
when
it
feels
hot.
B.
Play
with
people.
C.
Drink
water
when
it’s
thirsty.
D.
Move
in
any
direction.
13.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“nimble”
in
the
forth
paragraph
mean?
A.
Happy.
B.
Clever.
C.
Angry.
D.
Passive.
14.
What
inspired
Sun
Tianqi
to
invent
the
HEXA
Plant?
A.
A
walking
plant.
B.
A
dead
sunflower.
C
Sunshine
and
water.
D.
A
strange
animal.
15.
Where
can
we
most
probably
read
the
passage?
A.
In
an
advertisement.
B.
In
a
novel.
C.
In
a
science
magazine.
D.
In
a
storybook.

However,
whether
you
are
on
the
mountains,
in
the
waves,
or
on
the
grassland,
you
should
be
aware
that
your
sport
of
choice
might
have
great
influence
on
the
environment.
Some
sports
are
resource-hungry.
Golf,
as
you
may
know,
eats
up
not
only
large
areas
of
countryside,
but
also
tons
of
water.
Besides,
all
sorts
of
chemicals
and
huge
amounts
of
energy
are
used
to
keep
its
courses(球场)in
good
condition.
____17____
For
example,
in
the
dry
regions
of
Portugal
and
Spain,
golf
is
often
held
responsible
for
serious
water
shortage
in
some
local
areas.
____18____
Power
walking
is
one
of
them
that
you
could
take
up
today.
You
don’t
need
any
special
equipment
except
a
good
pair
of
shoes;
and
you
don't
have
to
worry
about
resources
and
your
purse.
Simple
and
free,
power
walking
can
also
keep
you
fit.
____19____
Experts
say
that
20
minutes
of
power
walking
daily
can
make
you
feel
less
anxious,
sleep
well
and
have
better
weight
control.
Whatever
sport
you
take
up,
you
can
make
it
greener
by
using
environment-friendly
equipment
and
buying
products
made
from
recycled
materials.
But
the
final
goal
should
be
“green
gyms”.
They
are
better
replacements(代替物)for
traditional
health
clubs
and
modern
sports
centers.
Members
of
green
gyms
play
sports
outdoors,
in
the
countryside
or
other
open
spaces.
____20____
And
best
of
all,
it’s
free.
A.
It
will
cost
you
a
lot.
B.
This
causes
major
environmental
effects.
C.
There
are
many
environment-friendly
sports.
D.
Sports
can
help
you
keep
fit
and
get
in
touch
with
nature.
E.
If
you
walk
regularly,
it
will
be
good
for
your
heart
and
bones.
F.
There
is
no
special
requirement
for
you
to
start
your
membership.
G.

more
people
are
concerned
about
environmental
protection.
