Books
Want

and
more
successful?
Here
are
four
popular
self-help
books
to
get
you
going.
How
to
Win
Friends
&
Influence
People
—by
Dale
Carnegie
This
is
the
book
that
started
the
self-help
type.
Carnegie
says
financial
success
is
15%
professional
knowledge
and
85%
“the
ability
to
express
ideas
and
inspire
people”.
Here
are
a
couple
of
his
top
tips:
Let
the
other
person
feel
that
the
idea
is
his
or
hers;
talk
about
your
own
mistakes
before
blaming
the
other
person.
Who
Moved
My
Cheese?
—by
Spencer
Johnson
This
book
is
about
how
to
adapt
to
(适应)
change
in
your
life.
It’s
a
story
about
two
mice
and
two
“little
people”
(who
represent
humans).
They
all
live
in
a
maze
(迷宫)
and
spend
their
days
eating
cheese.
But
one
day
they
discover
that
their
regular
supply
of
cheese
has
disappeared.
The
mice
immediately
start
searching
the
maze
for
more
cheese
but
the
two
“little
people”
get
angry.
Finally,
one
of
the
“little
people”
accepts
the
situation
and
decides
to
look
for
a
new
cheese
supply.
The
Millionaire
Next
Door
—by
Thomas
Stanley
The
author
of
this
book
spent
years
interviewing
American
millionaires
to
figure
out
the
secrets
of
their
success.
And
he
discovered
that
most
millionaires
don’t
live
a
life
in
an
expensive
way.
They’re
rich
because
they
live
below
their
means
and
reinvest
what
they
earn.
59
Seconds

by
Richard
Wiseman
This
is
a
self-help
book
with
a
difference.
Wiseman,
a
scientist,
says
59
Seconds
is
about
the
“science
of
self-help”.
And
he
uses
science
to
show
many
self-help
ideas
are
false.
Other
tips
in
the
book
are:
If
you
want
to
eat
more
healthily,
hang
a
mirror
in
your
kitchen.
This
can
reduce
unhealthy
eating
by
35%.
If
you
want
to
be
more
creative,
put
a
plant
on
your
desk.

Arriving
in
Sydney
on
his
own
from
India,
my
husband,
Rashid,
stayed
in
a
hotel
for
a
short
time
while
looking
for
a
house
for
me
and
our
children.
During
the
first
week
of
his
stay,
he
went
out
one
day
to
do
some
shopping.
He
came
back
in
the
late
afternoon
to
discover
that
his
suitcase
was
gone.
He
was
extremely
worried
as
the
suitcase
had
all
his
important
papers,
including
his
passport.
He
reported
the
case
to
the
police
and
then
sat
there,
lost
and
lonely
in
a
strange
city,
thinking
of
the
terrible
troubles
of
getting
all
the
paperwork
organized
again
from
a
distant
country
while
trying
to
settle
down
in
a
new
one.
Late
in
the
evening,
the
phone
rang.
It
was
a
stranger.
He
was
trying
to
pronounce
my
husband’s
name
and
was
asking
him
a
lot
of
questions.
Then
he
said
they
had
found
a
pile
of
papers
in
their
trash
can
(垃圾桶)
that
had
been
left
out
on
the
footpath.
My
husband
rushed
to
their
home
to
find
a
kind
family
holding
all
his
papers
and
documents.
Their
young
daughter
had
gone
to
the
trash
can
and
found
a
pile
of
unfamiliar
papers.
Her
parents
had
carefully
sorted
them
out,
although
they
had
found
mainly
foreign
addresses
on
most
of
the
documents.
At
last
they
had
seen
a
half-written
letter
in
the
pile
in
which
my
husband
had
given
his
new
telephone
number
to
a
friend.
That
family
not
only
restored
the
important
documents
to
us
that
day
but
also
restored
our
faith
and
trust
in
people.
We
still
remember
their
kindness
and
often
send
a
warm
wish
their
way.

Butter
coffee,
also
sometimes
called
bulletproof
coffee,
is
almost
exactly
what
it
sounds
like.
Take
a
cup
of
black
coffee
and
drop
a
bit
of
butter
into
it.
Though
the
name
doesn’t
show
this,
you
also
need
to
add
a
little
coconut
oil.
Upon
hearing
about
butter
coffee,
people
generally
all
into
one
of
two
camps.
Either
you
are
disgusted
at
the
notion
and
determine
never
to
try
it
or
you
are
more
laid-back
and
think
“Sure,
why
not?”
If
you
are
still
puzzled
about
why
this
drink
exists,
here’s
a
bit
of
backstory.
In
2009,
Dave
Asprey,
a
businessman,
launched
and
trademarked
Bulletproof
coffee.
He
got
the
idea
during
his
travels
in
Tibet,
where
yak
butter
(酥油)
tea
is
common.
He
marketed
and
sold
the
concept
as
a
low-carbon,
high-fat
breakfast
choice
that
would
help
people
lose
weight
and
be
energized.
Despite
all
of
Asprey’s
claims,
there
are
not
many
benefits
to
butter
coffee,
especially
if
anyone
decides
to
give
up
meals
and
replaces
them
with
the
drink.
While
cutting
out
carbohydrates
(碳水化合物)
may
be
good
for
people
with
type
2
diabetes,
a
low-carbon
diet
is
usually
only
recommended
(推荐)
for
a
short
period
of
time.
And
though
the
fat
from
the
butter
may
keep
you
feeling
full
for
a
while,
there
are
a
number
of
downsides
to
adding
a
couple
of
tablespoons
to
your
morning
coffee.
Doctors
point
out
that
the
amount
of
fat
in
butter
coffee
is
higher
than
most
recommended
daily
amounts.
Additionally,
a
breakfast
of
butter
and
coffee
does
not
contain
nutrients
that
are
necessary
to
a
healthy
diet.
What
does
the
author
mean
by
“two
camps”
in
the
first
paragraph?
The
campsites
for
enjoying
yak
butter
tea.
The
areas
where
people
can
buy
butter
coffee.
The
two
types
of
butter
coffee
that
are
popular.
The
two
different
views
people
have
about
butter
coffee.
9.
Asprey
got
the
inspiration
for
Bulletproof
coffee
when
he
was_________.
A.
vacationing
in
Tibet
B.
suffering
from
diabetes
C.
starting
his
business
D.
selling
coffee
overseas
10.
Which
of
the
following
is
mentioned
as
a
supposed
benefit
of
butter
coffee?
A.
It
serves
as
a
meal.
B.
It
is
good
for
all
patients.
C.
It
may
make
people
feel
energetic.
D.
It
wil1
help
cure
diabetes.
11.
What
do
doctors
think
of
butter
coffee?
A.
It
is
not
fully
healthy
for
people.
B.
It
offers
enough
nutrients
for
adults.
C.
It
is
recommended
as
part
of
breakfast.
D.
It
should
be
dropped
for
deadly
chemicals.
