Mike
Shepherd(2011)Skiddaw
in
WinterCumbria,
England
It
was
an
extremely
cold
winter's
evening
and
freezing
fog
hung
in
the
air.
I
climbed
to
the
top
of
a
small
rise
and
realised
that
the
mist
was
little
more
than
a
few
feet
deep,
and
though
it
was
only
a
short
climb,
I
found
myself
completely
above
it
and
looking
at
a
wonderfully
clear
view
of
Skiddaw
with
the
sum
setting
in
the
west.
I
used
classical
techniques,
translated
from
my
college
days
spent
in
the
darkroom
into
Photoshop,
to
achieve
the
black—and—white
image(图像).
Timothy
Smith(2014)Macclesfield

England
I
was
back
in
my
home
town
of
Macclesfield
to
take
some
winter
images.
Walking
up
a
path
through
the
forest
towards
Shutlingsloe.
a
local
high
point,
I
came
across
a
small
clearing
and
immediately
noticed
the
dead
yellow
grasses
set
against
the
fresh
snow.
The
small
pine
added
to
the
interest
and
I
placed
it
centrally
to
take
the
view
from
the
foreground
right
through
into
the
forest.

The
Internet
plays
a
big
part
in
human
life.
We
use
it
for
work
and
entertainment.
We
can
find
new
recipes(食谱)
on
the
Interact
or
advice
on
staying
healthy.
We
can
even
use
it
to
learn
a
new
language.
We
use
the
Internet
to
keep
in
contact
with
family
and
friends
and
stay
in
touch
with
issues
we
care
about.
The
list
goes
on
and
on.
Well,
there
may
be
no
going
back
to
an
Internet-free
life.
But
can
using
the
Internet
too
much
be
bad
for
our
health?
It
might
be,
say
researchers.
A
new
study
finds
that
heavy
Internet
use
may
be
connected
to
high
blood
pressure
in
an
unlikely
group---teenagers.
So,
try
to
be
a
responsible
guardian
for
your
children.
The
study
results
show
that
teens
who
spend
at
least
14
hours
a
week
online
are
more
likely
to
have
high
blood
pressure.
High
blood
pressure
makes
your
heart
and
blood
vessels(血管)
work
too
hard.
Over
time,
this
extra
strain(压力)
increases
your
risk
of
a
heart
attack
or
stroke(中风).
High
blood
pressure
can
also
cause
heart,
kidney
and
brain
diseases.
The
Henry
Ford
Hospital
in
Detroit,
Michigan
did
the
study.
It
involved
335
young
people,
from
14
to
17
years
old.
One
hundred
and
thirty-four
of
the
teens
were
described
as
“heavy
Internet
users”.
Researchers
found
that
out
of
these
134
teens,
26
had
high
blood
pressure.
The
researchers
say
the
study
is
the
first
one
to
connect
heavy
web
use
with
high
blood
pressure.
Another
research
has
connected
that
heavy
Internet
use
with
health
problems
including
anxiety,
depression
and
obesity(肥胖症).
The
lead
researcher
of
the
study
is
Andrea
Cassidy-Bushrow.
For
the
purpose
of
the
study,
she
explains,
teens
considered
heavy
Internet
users
were
online
on
average
“25
hours
a
week”.
In
a
statement
she
said,
“Using
the
Internet
is
part
of
our
daily
but
it
shouldn’t
consume
us.”
Ms.
Gassidy-Bushrow
adds
that
it
is
important
for
teens
to
take
regular
breaks
from
their
computers
or
smart
phones
and
to
do
some
kinds
of
physical
activities.
She
also
suggests
that
parents
limit
their
children’s
use
of
the
Internet
to
two
hours
a
day,
five
days
a
week.
8.The
author
mainly
wants
to
tell
us
.
A.how

high
blood
pressure.

Internet
use
will
worsen

the
Internet.

Internet
use
may

9.What
does
the
underlined

shouldn’t
buy
goods
through
the
Internet.
B.People
should
control
the
time
length
of
using
the
Internet
C.People
shouldn’t
fall
in
love
with
the
Internet.
D.People

One
of
the
greatest
sources
of
unhappiness,
in
my
experience,
is
the
difficulty
we
have
in
accepting
things
as
they
are.
When
we
see
something
we
don't
like,
we
wish
it
could
be
different.
We
cry
out
for
something
better.
That
may
be
human
nature,
or
perhaps
it’s
something
ingrained(根深蒂固的)
in
our
culture.
The
root(根源)
of
the
unhappiness
isn't
necessarily
that
we
want
things
to
be
different.
However,
it's
that
we
decided
we
didn't
like
it
in
the
first
place.
We've
judged
it
as
bad,
rather
than
saying,
“It's
not
bad
or
good,
and
it
just
is
it.

In
one
of
my
books,
I
said
“You
should
expect
people
to
make
mistakes
and
expect
things
to
go
differently
than
you
planned”.
Some
readers
said
it’s
too
sad
to
expect
things
to
go
wrong.
However,
it's
only
negative
if
you
see
it
as
negative
and
judge
it
as
bad.
Instead,
you
could
accept
it
as
the
way
the
world
works
and
try
to
understand
why
that
is.
This
can
be
applied
to
whatever
you
do:
how
other
people
act
at
work,
how
politics
works
and
how
depressing
the
news
media
can
be.
Accept
these
things
as
they
are,
and
try
to
understand
why
they're
that
way.
It
will
save
you
a
lot
of
sadness,
because
you'll
no
longer
say,
“Oh.
I
wish
bad
things
didn't
happen!”
Does
it
mean
you
can
never
change
things?
Not
at
all.
But
change
things
not
because
you
can't
accept
things
as
they
are,
but
because
you
enjoy
the
process
of
changing,
learning
and
growing.
Can
we
make
this
world
a
better
place?
You
can
say
that
you’ll
continue
to
try
to
do
things
to
help
others,
to
grow
as
a
person,
to
make
a
difference
in
this
world.
That's
the
correct
path
you
choose
to
take,
because
you
enjoy
that
path.
Therefore,
when
you
find
yourself
judging
and
wishing
for
difference,
try
a
different
approach:accept,
and
understand.
It
might
lead
to
some
interesting
results.

in
the
work

way

the
world
better

and
make

you
15.What
is
the
main
theme
of
the
passage?

things
to
be
different
gives
us
hope.
B.Accepting
can
make
our
life
happier
and
better.
C.Traditional
culture
becomes
root
of
unhappiness.
D.Judging
good
or
bad
is
important
for

第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Why
is
setting
goals
important?
16
Instead
of
just
letting
life
happen
to
you,
goals
allow
you
to
make
your
life
happen.
Successful
people
imagine
how
their
life
should
be
and
set
lots
of
goals.
17
It's
like
having
a
map
to
show
you
where
you
want
to
go.
Think
of
it
this
way.
There
are
two
drivers.
One
has
a
destination
in
mind
which
can
be
found
on
a
map.
She
can
drive
straight
there
surely
without
any
wasted
time
of
wrong
turns.
The
other
driver
has
no
goal,
or
destination
or
map.
She
starts
off
at
the
same
time
from
the
same
place
as
the
first
driver,
but
she
drives
aimlessly
around,
never
getting
anywhere,
just
using
up
gas.
Which
driver
do
you
want
to
be?
18
They
decide
what
they
want
in
life
and
then
get
there
by
making
plans
and
setting
goals.
Unsuccessful
people
usually
just
let
life
happen
by
accident.
Goals
aren't
difficult
to
set
and
they
aren't
difficult
to
reach.
19
You
are
the
one
who
must
decide
what
to
achieve
and
in
what
direction
to
aim
your
life.
20
Written
goals
can
be
reviewed
regularly,
and
have
more
power.
Like
a
contract
with
yourself,
they
are
harder
to
neglect(忽视))
or
forget.
Also
when
you
write
your
goals
in
a
particular
way,
you
are
able
to
make
yourself
continuously
aware
of
situations
that
will
bring
you
nearer
to
your
goal.
A.Winners
in
life
set
goals
and
follow
them
through.
B.By
setting
goals
you
are
taking
control
of
your
life.
C.It's
up
to
you
to
find
out
what
your
goals
really
are.
D.It's
difficult
for
a
driver
to
reach
his
destination
without
a
map.
E.Research
tells
us
that
when
we
write
a
goal
down
we
are
more
likely
to
achieve
it.
F.Because
goals
can
help
you
do,
be,
and
experience
everything
you
want
in
life.
G.Because
everybody
should
have
a
goal
in
his
mind.
