A
restaurant
manager
is
changing
the
students'
lives
for
the
better
at
an
elementary
school
in
Virginia
Beach,
Va.,
writing
empowering
messages
on
bananas
being
offered
in
the
School
restaurant.
Stacey
Truman
has
held
the
position
at
Kingston
Elementary
School
for
nine
years,
but
recently
decided
to
start
making
the
"talking
bananas",
as
the
kids
call
them,
to
encourage
the
students.
"I
do
it
for
my
kids
at
home,
so
why
not
bring
it
here
and
do
it
for
them
because
they
are
like
my
kids,"
Truman
said.
The
bananas
have
several
encouraging
messages
like
"Never
give
up!"
"You
are
wise!"
and
"Keep
trying!"
among
others.
Truman
said,
"I
came
up
with
most
of
the
messages
myself
because
I
would
just
think
about
what
you
would
tell
a
kid
or
what
you
would
want
to
hear
yourself."
Truman's
sweet
behaviour
did
not
just
have
an
effect
on
the
children,
however.
School
principal
Sharon
Shewbridge
saw
the
bananas
and
posted
a
picture
of
the
fruit
on
Twitter,
where
it
started
receiving
worldwide
attention.
"Truman's
almost
embarrassed
about
all
the
attention,"
Shewbridge
said.
"She
just
wanted
it
not
to
be
known
to
the
public.
But
I
said
this
is
so
simple
and
amazing—and
it
has
such
an
effect
on
kids."
"It's
simple,
but
these
words
can
help
them
be
more
courageous
and
realize
that
they
are
good
enough,"
Shewbridge
added.
"I
hope
that
other
schools
see
it's
an
easy
way
to
get
a
kind
message
to
kids."
24.What
does
the
underlined
word
"empowering"
in
the
first
paragraph
mean?
A.Challenging.
B.Annoying.
C.Struggling.
D.Encouraging.
25.What
can
we
infer
about
Stacey
Truman?
A.She
wants
to
be
famous.
B.She
is
caring
and
creative.
C.She
advertises
for
bananas.
D.She
is
interested
in
fruits.
26.What
does
Shewbridge
think
of
Truman's
behaviour?
A.It's
confusing.
B.It's
childish.
C.It's
helpful.
D.It's
strange.
27.What
is
probably
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.A

D
Watching
a
young,
21-year-old
Jordan
Spieth
win
the
US
Masters
today,
I
could
not
help
but
think
of
the
great
qualities
he
displayed
to
win
the
most
famous
golf
event
on
the
calendar
against
the
greatest
players
in
the
world.
Jordan
Spieth
has
learned
to
keep
himself
in
check.
There
is
a
great
proverb:
"A
fool
shares
all
his
or
her
feelings
while
a
wise
man
keeps
them
in
check."
As
I
watched
Spieth
playing,
I
noticed
a
constant
calm
around
him.
Whether
he
hit
the
shot
he
wanted
or
not,
he
was
the
same
and
kept
his
emotions
steady
(稳定的)
and
strong.
He
never
blamed
the
crowd,
clubs
or
wind.
He
knows
which
club
he
is
going
to
drive
with
on
every
hole;
he
knows
which
side
of
the
fairway
(高尔夫球道)
to
land
and
exactly
where
he
wants
to
be
standing
on
every
green
when
he
is
putting;
he
has
played
it
through
his
minds
for
months.
He
is
the
person
who
makes
things
happen
by
planning
in
advance.
Winning
is
not
a
fluke
(侥幸击中);
it's
a
by-product
of
months
and
years
of
planning.
Nothing
happens
by
chance.
If
there
is
an
event
that
every
golfer
dreams
of
winning,
it's
the
US
Masters.
So,
how
would
Spieth
have
felt
in
2014
getting
so
close
to
winning
but
coming
second?
As
good
as
second
was,
he
only
wanted
to
be
first.
The
difference
between
great
shots
and
poor
shots
at
the
Masters
is
only
inches.
In
that
2014
final
round,
Spieth
was
standing
on
the
8th
hole
with
a
2-shot
lead,
but
through
a
number
of
small
misses
he
lost
it
and
never
recovered
it.
However,
he
never
stops
learning.
As
a
great
person
once
said,
"While
you're
green,
you're
growing;
when
you're
brown,
you're
dying."
He
stays
green.
He
is
always
reading,
learning,
and
he
understands
that
the
greatest
teacher
of
all
is
failure.
32.Which
description
is
suitable
for
Jordan
Spieth?
A.He
can
control
himself
properly.
B.He
likes
to
share
his
feelings.
C.He
is
a
man
of
great
knowledge.
D.He
usually
uses
sayings
when
speaking.
33.What
does
the
third
paragraph
want
to
tell
about
Jordan
Spieth?
A.He
always
has
a
game
plan
and
sticks
to
it.
B.He
never
does
anything
until
it
really
happens.
C.He
usually
decides
on
a
club
to
join
in
advance.
D.He
can't
bear
losing
the
chance
of
winning
a
game.
34.How
did
Jordan
Spieth
feel
in
the
2014
Masters?
A.Inspired.
B.Satisfied.
C.Doubtful.
D.Curious.
35.What
is
the
text
mainly
about?
A.Feelings
of
losing
the
US
Masters.
B.Sports
qualities
of
Jordan
Spieth.
C.Basic
skills
of
winning
a
golf
game.
D.Golfers'
dreams
of
joining
the
Masters.
第二节(共5小题)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Teenagers
and
Grammar
Say
the
word
"grammar"
to
teenagers
and
you
might
be
met
by
yawns
(哈欠)
or
icy
looks
in
their
eyes.
____36____
Here
are
some
ideas
for
making
grammar
teaching
more
teen-friendly.
Break
down
negativity
(消极性).
If
your
students
are
unwilling
to
learn
grammar,
show
them
why
it's
necessary.
Record
someone
(yourself
or
a
teen)
using
correct
words
and
phrases
but
confusing
grammar.
And
then
ask
them
what
the
problem
is.
____37____
And
then
ask
them
to
make
sense
of
them.
Use
texts.
Present
grammar
in
the
context
of
a
reading
text.
This
way
it's
easier
to
see
how
the
language
is
used
and
work
out
the
meaning
from
the
context.
____38____
Therefore,
choose
a
text
which
will
interest
your
learners.
____39____
Whenever
possible,
find
interesting
ways
to
practice
grammar
such
as
online
games
and
videos.
Grammar
can
be
presented
in
an
animated
(动画的)
video
and
explained
in
a
conversation-style
text.
There
are
also
online
practice
exercises.
Choose
the
right
level.
Often
teenagers
get
bored
if
tasks
are
too
easy,
or
lose
interest
if
they
are
too
difficult.
____40____
In
a
mixed-ability
class
this
might
mean
having
different
tasks
prepared
for
stronger
and
weaker
students,
which
means
a
bit
more
extra
preparation
time
on
the
teacher's
part,
but
the
pay-off
is
usually
well
worth
it.
Working
on
grammar
with
teenagers
can
be
challenging,
but
with
a
bit
of
preparation
it
can
be
very
rewarding,
for
them
and
for
you!
A.Find
interesting
ways
to
practice.
B.Ask
students
how
they
prefer
to
learn.
C.Getting
the
level
of
challenge
right
is
necessary.
D.Often
the
key
to
inspiring
a
class
is
an
interesting
topic.
E.Be
careful
how
you
treat
mistakes
while
playing
grammar
games.
F.But
don't
lose
heart—the
experience
can
be
positive,
or
even
fun.
G.You
could
also
give
them
written
messages
without
any
grammar
words.

第二节
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Once,
there
was
a
poor
boy.
He
made
a
living
by
selling
things
from
door
to
door.
Through
this,
he
could
earn
some
money
to
pay
for
his
school.
One
day,
as
he
was
walking
from
house
to
house
as
usual,
he
felt
very
hungry
and
weak.
He
felt
that
he
couldn't
walk
even
a
few
steps.
He
decided
to
ask
for
food
at
a
house.
So
he
knocked
at
the
door.
He
was
amazed
to
see
a
very
beautiful
young
girl
open
the
door
for
him.
He
asked
the
girl
for
a
glass
of
water
instead
of
a
meal.
The
young
girl
thought
he
must
be
hungry
and
thirsty.
So
she
offered
him
a
huge
glass
of
milk.
With
a
surprised
look,
the
boy
drank
the
milk
very
slowly.
At
once,
he
felt
he
was
full
of
energy.
"How
much
do
I
pay
you
for
this
milk?"
he
asked
the
girl.
"I
do
not
want
any
money
for
this,"
she
replied.
"Morn
has
taught
me
never
to
accept
pay
for
a
kindness."
The
boy
thanked
the
girl
from
the
bottom
of
his
heart
and
left
the
place.
As
the
boy
left
that
house,
he
felt
stronger
physically.
He
thought
he
must
do
something
else
to
help
others.
Years
passed
by
quickly.
Both
the
boy
and
the
young
girl
grew
up.
In
the
girl's
youth,
unluckily,
she
fell
ill.
She
suffered
from
an
uncommon
disease.
It
was
hard
for
the
local
doctors
to
cure
her.
Even
many
doctors
with
rich
experience
didn't
know
how
to
cure
her.
Finally,
she
was
sent
to
a
hospital
in
a
big
city.
There
were
many
excellent
doctors
and
the
most
advanced
skills
in
the
hospital.
Dr.
Kevin
was
a
well-known
doctor.
He
was
called
in
by
the
hospital
to
examine
the
girl.
When
he
heard
the
name
of
the
town
that
she
came
from,
a
strange
light
filled
his
eyes.
Immediately,
he
rose
and
went
down
through
the
hospital
hall
into
her
room.
注意:
1.续写的词数应为150左右;
2.请按如下格式在相应位置作答。
He
recognized
the
girl
at
once.

Dr.
Kevin
asked
the
business
office
to
pass
the
final
bill
to
him.
