读后续写

练习
一、阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写的词数应为150左右。
???
In
1945,
a
12-year-old
boy
saw
a
beautiful
brooch
(胸针)
in
a
shop
window
that
set
his
heart
racing.
But
the
price—five
dollars—was
too
high
for
Reuben
Earle.
Five
dollars
would
buy
almost
a
week's
food
for
his
family.
???
Reuben
couldn't
ask
his
father
for
the
money.
Everything
his
father
made
through
fishing
went
to
his
mother,
Dora.
Slim
and
beautiful,
she
was
the
center
of
the
home,
the
glue
that
held
it
together.
The
housework
was
never-ending,
and
she
struggled
to
feed
and
clothe
her
five
children
but
she
was
happy
as
her
family
and
their
well-being
were
all
she
cared
about.
???
Nevertheless,
he
opened
the
shop's
weathered
(风化的)
door
and
went
inside.
Standing
proud
and
straight
in
his
flour-sack
(面粉袋改做的)
shirt
and
washed-out
trousers,
he
told
the
shopkeeper
what
he
wanted,
adding,
"But
I
don't
have
the
money
right
now.
Can
you
please
hold
it
for
me
for
some
time?"
???
"I'll
try"
the
shopkeeper
smiled.
"People
around
here
don't
usually
have
that
kind
of
money
to
spend
on
things.
It
should
keep
for
a
while."
Reuben
respectfully
touched
his
worn
cap
and
walked
out.
He
would
raise
the
money
and
not
tell
anybody,
for
he
thought
Mum
would
get
surprised
when
she
saw
that
brooch.
On
hearing
the
sound
of
hammering
from
a
side
street,
Reuben
suddenly
had
an
idea
that
he
could
raise
money
by
selling
the
used
nail
bags
(装钉子的麻袋).
People
built
their
own
homes
in
Bay
Roberts,
using
nails
bought
in
bags
from
a
local
factory.
Sometimes
the
used
bags
were
thrown
away
at
the
construction
site,
and
Reuben
knew
he
could
sell
them
back
to
the
factory
for
five
cents
a
piece.
That
day
he
sold
two
nail
bags
and
hid
the
money
in
a
rusty
soda
tin
(汽水罐).
Paragraph
1:
Every
day
after
school,
Reuben
started
his
plan.

Our
friendship
runs
back
to
our
college
days
when
I
first
met
Rishi.
We
had
our
own
share
“
first
impression
about
each
other.
Mine
was—she's
a
lovely,
charming
and
full
of
life
personality.
Hers
was—I
look
like
an
arrogant
personality.
I
don't
blame
her
for
this.
Many
of
my
close
friends
had
the
same
view
when
they
first
met
me.
Blame
it
on
my
bitch
face
and
me
being
a
shy
person
to
some
extent.
???
We
became
really
close
within
a
short
period
of
time.
Ours
was
group
of
four
people
divided
into
2
each
during
our
final
year
when
we
both
chose
advertising
as
our

journalism.
Back
then,
I

one

we

really
bad

a
failed
project.
The
usual
blame
game
was
on.
We
decided
to
put
it
past
us
and
focus
on
our
studies.
During
this
time,
she
once
handed
me
her

to
show

through
that,
I
came

a
message

of

friends.
I
asked
her
permission
to
view
the
group.
She
had
a
blank
expression
on
her
face.
But
she
allowed
me
to
go
ahead.
???
I
was
in
shock
while
going
through
their
messages.
Not
really
positive
things
were
said
about
me
in
particular.
It
shook
me.
Because
these
were
the
people.
I
considered
my
friends.
I
broke
down
in
front
of
her.
She
apologised.
But
I
felt
cheated
on.
I
told
her
about
my
decision
of
not
wanting
to
continue
this
friendship
further.
We
both
missed
each
other.
But
neither
of
us
wanted
to
give
the
last
try.

Long,

in
a

lived
a

Times
were
hard
and

for
supporting
his
family.
One
day,
while
returning
from
work,
a
man
who
looked
like
a
wealthy
person
coming
from
the
city
stopped
his
rickshaw.
He
quickly
told
Ashwin
the
place
he
wanted
to
visit.
His
car
had
broken
down
and
he
desperately
needed
to
get
to
the
mentioned
address
urgently.
After
an
uneventful
ride,
they
reached
the
destination,
and
the
passenger
paid
the
fare.
Ashwin,
on
returning
home,
found
to
his
surprise
that
his

just
then
had
dropped

On

He

His

Now

That
night,
Ashwin
couldn't
sleep.
His

him.
At
the

he
woke
his

up.
He
said,
“Lalita,
I

I
am
going
to
search
for
the

shocked
and
cried,
but
Ashwin
stuck
to
his
word.
He
tried
hard
to
find
the
man,
but
nothing
seemed
to
work.
Eventually
when
he
was
about
to
give
up,
he
saw
that
wealthy
passenger.
Ashwin
ran
to
him
and
thrust(塞)
the
bag
in
his
hand,
“Sir,
you

四、阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写两段,使之构成一个完整的故事。
Once,
when
I
was
a
teenager,
my
father
and
I
were
standing
in
line
to
buy
tickets
for
the
circus.
Finally,
there
was
only
one
family
between
us
and
the
ticket
counter.
This
family
made
a
big
impression
on
me.
There
were
eight
children,
all
probably
under
the
age
of
twelve.
You
could
tell
they
didn’t
have
a
lot
of
money.
Their
clothes
were
not
expensive,
but
they
were
clean.
The
children
were
well-behaved,
all
of
them
standing
in
line,
two-by-two
behind
their
parents,
holding
hands.
They
were
excitedly
talking
about
the
clowns,
elephants,
and
other
acts
they
would
see
that
night
with
their
brothers
or
sisters
in
a
low
voice.
One
could
sense
they
had
never
been
to
the
circus
before.
It
promised
to
be
highlight
of
their
young
lives.
The
father
and
mother
were
at
the
head
of
the
pack,
standing
proud
as
could
be.
The
mother
was
holding
her
husband’s
hand,
looking
up
at
him
as
if
to
say,
“You
are
my
knight
in
shining
armor.”
He
was
smiling
and
responding
in
pride,
looking
back
at
her
as
if
to
say,
“You
got
that
right.”
The
ticket
lady
asked
the
father
how
many
tickets
he
wanted.
He
proudly
responded,
“Please
let
me
buy
eight
children’s
tickets
and
two
adult
tickets
so
I
can
take
my
family
to
the
circus.”
The
ticket
lady
gave
the
price.
The
man’s
wife
let
go
of
his
hand,
her
head
dropped,
and
his
lips
began
to
shake.
The
father
leaned
a
little
closer
and
asked,
“How
much
did
you
say?”
The
ticket
lady
again
gave
the
price.
The
man
didn’t
have
enough
money.
How
was
he
supposed
to
turn
and
tell
his
eight
children
that
he
didn’t
have
enough
money
to
take
them
to
the
circus?
Actually
we
were
not
wealthy
in
any
sense.
So
I
understand
how
the
kids
would
feel.
I
felt
sorry
for
them.

An
eight-year-old
child
heard
her
parents
talking
about
her
little
brother.
All
she
knew
was
that
he
was
very
sick,
and
they
had
no
money
left.
They
were
moving
to
a
smaller
house
because
they
could
not
afford
to
stay
in
the
present
house
after
paying
the
doctor's
bills.
Only
a
very
costly
surgery
could
save
him
now
and
there
was
no
one
to
loan
them
the
money.
When
she
heard
her
daddy
say
to
her
tearful
mother
with
whispered
desperation,
'Only
a
miracle
can
save
him
now'
,
the
little
girl
went
to
her
bedroom
and
pulled
her
piggy
bank
from
its
hiding
place
in
the
closet.
She
poured
all
the
change
out
on
the
floor
and
counted
it
carefully
Clutching
the
precious
piggy
bank
tightly,
she
came
to
the
local
drugstore.
She
took
a
quarter
from
her
bank
and
placed
it
on
the
glass
counter.
“And
what
do
you
want?”
asked
the
pharmacist.
“It's
for
my
little
brother,”
the
girl
answered
back.
“He's
really,
really
sick
and
I
want
to
buy
a
miracle.
”
“His
name
is
Andrew
and
he
has
something
bad
growing
inside
his
head
and
my
daddy
says
only
a
miracle
can
save
him.
So
how
much
does
a
miracle
cost?”
“We
don't
sell
miracles
here,
child.
I'm
sorry,”
the
pharmacist
said,
smiling
sadly
at
the
little
girl.
“Listen,
I
have
the
money
to
pay
for
it.
If
it
isn't
enough,
I
can
try
and
get
some
more.
Just
tell
me
how
much
it
costs.”
In
the
shop,
a
well-dressed
customer,
asked
the
little
girl,
"What
kind
of
a
miracle
does
your
brother
need?"
That
well-dressed
man
was
Dr
Carlton
Armstrong,
a
surgeon,
specializing
in
neuro
-
surgery.
"I
don't
know,"
she
replied
with
her
eyes
welling
up,
"he's
really
sick
and
my
daddy
can't
pay
for
an
operation,
so
I
have
brought
my
savings.”
“How
much
do
you
have?"
asked
the
man.
“One
dollar
and
eleven
cents,
but
I
can
try
and
get
some
more,"
she
answered
bitterly.
“Well,
what
a
coincidence,"
smiled
the
man.
“A
dollar
and
eleven
cents-the
exact
price
of
a
miracle
for
your

Rhea,
happy

Silence

the

“Make
a

my
mom
said
in
a
sweet
whisper.
Now,
I’m
a
straight
A
student,
confident
and
popular,
but
that’s
not
what
I
was
a
year
ago.
It
was
my
mom’s
love
that
made
me
what
I
am
today.
Looking
around
the
room
filled
with
my
friends,
I
couldn't
help
but
smile.
???
I
wish...
???
Memories
flooded
back.
The
December
morning
breeze
brushed
my
long,
black
hair
as
I
stepped
towards
the
doors
of
Hagenberg
High.
It
was
my
first
day
of
school.
Only
two
weeks
ago,
my
mom
and
I
migrated
to
America,
hoping
for
a
bright
new
life.
???
My
English
was
poor,
and
I
was
alone,
like
a
lost
little
kid.
I
unknowingly
avoided
interacting
with
anyone
because
I
was
afraid
they’d
laugh
in
my
face.
When
my
English
was
better,
I
decided,
I
would
come
up
to
people
and
maybe
manage
to
say,
“Whussup?”
???
Finally
in
gym
class,
a
friendly
brown
face.
She
almost
looked
like
me,
only
happier
.Her
name
was
Caroline.
At
lunchtime
we
found
ourselves
enjoying
the
cafeteria
food.
She
wanted
me
to
meet
her
friends.
“Don’t
worry
Rhea,”
she
assured
me,
calling
me
“sister”,
"You’ll
fit
right
in.”
???
And
I
did.
It
was
as
if
some
foreign
soul
entered
my
body
and
made
me
do
things
against
my
will.
I
found
myself
drinking
beer,
smoking
cigarettes
and
skipping
school.
I
didn't
even
like
the
taste
of
beer.
The
moment
it
touched
my
tongue
I
felt
like
I
had
to
spit
it
back.
But
I
didn't.
I
couldn’t
afford
to
look
bad
and
lose
my
new
“friends”.
I
began
to
miss
at
least
one
day
of
school
a
week
to
hang
out
with
them.
Then
I
missed
two,
three,
even
four
days
in
a
row.
???
But
while
I
was
out
having
fun
with
my
“friends,"
inside
I
was
full
of
conflict,
unhappiness
and
regret.
I
stopped
practicing
my
English
sentences
in
front
of
the
mirror
and
instead
practiced,
“I
don’t
know
why
the
school
called,
mom.
There
must
be
something
wrong
in
the
system
because
I
did
not
miss
school
today.”

after
school,
Reuben
started
his
plan.
Cold
and
hungry,
Reuben
wandered
the
streets,
searching
for
the
nail

To
save
more

even
decided
to
deliver
papers
in
the
early
morning.
Exhausted
and
tired
as
he
felt,
he
still
stuck
to
the
plan.
It
was
the
brooch
in
the
shop
window
that
reminded
him
that
what
he
did
was
worthwhile.
After
a
long
time
of
hard
work,
he
made
it
eventually.

came!
He
took
out
the
soda
tin,
poured
the
coins
out
and
began
to
count.
Five
dollars!
His
hard
work
paid
off!
Holding
the
soda
tin
firmly,
Reuben
rushed
for
the
shop
to
buy
the
brooch.
The
moment
he
got
the
beautiful
brooch,
he
burst
through
the
front

and
placed
it

Paragraph

I

young.”
He
paused
for
a

Paragraph
1:
????Dr.
Armstrong
took
her
money
and
then
they
headed
for
the
girl's
home.?After
introducing
himself
to
the
little
girl's
parents,
Dr.
Armstrong
headed
directly
to
Andrew's
room,
where
a
weak
and
pale
little
boy
lay
in
a
sea
of
medical
tubes
and
oxygen
pumps.
Smile
gently
towards
the
boy,
Armstrong
whispered,
“your
sister
bought
you
a
miracle
which
would
soon
chase
away
the
monster
in
your
brain!”
Shooting
a
grateful
look
at
his
sister
and
Dr.
Armstrong,
Andrew
beamed.
Two
days
later,
the
boy
was
transferred
to
Dr.
Armstrong's
department
where
a
5-hour
operation
was
conducted.
Paragraph

????The
operation
was
completed
successfully
without
charge.?As
their
parents
received
the
bill
which
read
‘Zero
Dollar
for
the
operation’,
they
both
shook
their
head
in
pleasant
disbelief
and
thanked
Dr.
Armstrong
a
million
of
times.
The
girl
also
planted
a
sweet
kiss
on
Armstrong's
sweaty
face.
The
grateful
and
joyous
family
finally
understood
that
a
miracle
was
not
something
that
could
be
bought
with
money,
but
occurred
when
kind,
generous
and
loving
strangers
listened
with
care
and
helped
out
without
asking
for
anything
in
return.

六、
答案:
One
day
the
school
teacher
called
my
mom
and
the
truth
came
out.
I
was
so
depressed.
I
was
sure
I
had
lost
my
mom's
trust
and
love.
"I'm
sorry."
I
cried.
Not
until
then
did
realize
how
much
my
mom
loved
me.
"It’s
okay,
honey.
Everything
will
be
okay.
Know
it
is
hard,
but
we'll
work
it
out
together."
My
mom
didn’t
change
how
she
viewed
me
despite
everything
I
had
done
I
stopped
seeing
Caroline
and
devoted
myself
to
study.
Gradually,
I
had
true
friends
who
saw
the
beauty
in
me.
My
life
was
back
on
track.
My
mom's
voice
awakened
me
from
my
thoughts,
"Have
you
made
your
birthday
wish
yet,
sweetie?
I
looked
at
her,
tears
of
love
and
gratitude
welling
up
in
my
eyes.
Yes,
Mom.
Then
I
hugged
her
very,
very
tightly.
And
now,
staring
at
the
yellow
candles
on
my
birthday
cake,
I
only
have
one
wish:
That
someday,
somehow,
I
can
repay
my
mom
for
raising
me
the
way
she
did
and
for
loving
me
no
matter
what
happens.
