Not
on
his
route!
On
a
lazy
Sunday
morning,
54-year-old
Winston
Douglas
drove
his
bus
along
a
normally
busting
but
then
quiet
Ormond
Street
in
the
Peoples
town
section
of
Atlanta.
A
woman
using
a
walker
was
slowly
crossing
the
street,
so
Douglas,
a
driver
for
the
Metropolitan
Atlanta
Rapid
Transit
Authority
(MARTA),
tapped
the
brakes
as
he
turned
the
wheel
to
the
left
to
go
around
her.
As
he
did
so,
he
noticed
a
muscular
young
man
in
his
early
20s
standing
shirtless
on
the
sidewalk.
That
wasn't
all
that
unusual
for
a
late
summer
day
in
Atlanta.
What
was
unusual
was
that
the
man
was
staring
at
the
woman
walking
across
the
street.
Douglas
was
wondering,
“Why
was
he
staring
at
the
woman?”
Within
seconds,
he
saw
the
man
sneak
up
behind
the
unsuspecting
woman
and
rob
her
of
the
wallet.
The
woman
fell
on
the
sidewalk
because
of
the
force
from
behind.
Realizing
what
was
happening,
she
cried,
“Help!
Help!”
The
man
tried
to
attack
her
to
stop
her
screaming.
But
she
fought
back.
The
two
collapsed
onto
the
road
between
two
parked
cars,
and
the
man
continued
his
assault.
The
bus
passengers
witnessing
the
attack
gasped.
June
Jarrett
thought
she
was
watching
a
horror
movie
come
to
life.
Screaming
at
him
to
stop,
she
said,
“You're
killing
her.”
And
he
looked
up
at
the
driver
and
just
continued
to
assault
her.
Douglas
immediately
stopped
his
bus.
Quickly
unbuckling
his
seat
belt,
he
threw
open
the
folding
doors
and
jumped
out.

根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,
使之构成一篇完整的短文。续写词数应为150左右。
???
Clayton
was
a
lovely
healthy
kid
with
a
love
of
learning—until
he
started
having
epilepsy(癫痫)
at
the
age
of
four.
His
disease
was
finally
controlled,
but
the
treatment
had
some
unpleasant
side
effects
including
aggressive
behavior,
lack
of
attention
and
hands
shaking.
???
Before
Clayton
started
kindergarten,
my
daughter
Jill
spoke
with
his
teacher,
Ms
Bonnie,
about
the
problems
my
grandson
faced.
Ms
Bonnie
promised
to
let
her
know
how
he
behaved.
And
whenever
Clayton
behaved
well,
she
would
reward
him
with
a
certificate(证书).
???
Surprisingly,
after
the
first
day
of
school,
Clayton
smiled
and
handed
his
mom
a
certificate
that
said,
"Clayton
had
a
great
day."
He
brought
home
three
awards
that
first
week,
but
then
suddenly
stopped.
His
teacher
explained
that
Clayton
refused
to
stay
at
his
desk
and
had
trouble
even
in
writing
his
name.
???
Then
Ms
Bonnie
gave
Clayton
fitted
gloves
to
help
with
his
holding
the
pen.
At
first,
Clayton
was
excited,
but
later
he
refused
to
use
the
aids
because
he
wanted
to
be
just
like
the
other
kids.
My
heart
was
broken
and
I
was
a
little
disappointed
at
Clayton's
performance.
???
Since
Jill
lived
next
door,
she
would
drop
Clayton
off
at
my
house
every
day.
While
I
prepared
him
an
after-school
snack
one
day,
I
asked
if
there
was
a
certificate
in
his
backpack
from
his
teacher.
He
shook
his
head
and
said,
"Grandma,
Ms
Bonnie
wouldn't
give
me
a
certificate.
But
I
think
I
have
tried
to
perform
well
in
her
class."
I
told
him,
"It
is
okay
as
long
as
you
tried
your
best."
???
Ms
Bonnie
tried
to
help
Clayton
stay
on
his
task.
She
made
cards
describing
eyes,
ears
and
a
chair
to
remind
him
to
focus,
listen
and
stay
seated.
Whenever
he
misbehaved,
she
held
up
one
of
the
cards.
As
an
added
encouragement,
I
placed
an
empty
picture
frame(画框)
on
my
wall
and
promised
him
that
I'd
frame
his
next
certificate
and
that
I'd
teach
him
to
dance.
???
As
usual,
Jill's
car
stopped
in
my
driveway.

三、阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
It
was
a
Sunday
morning.
Betty
woke
up
earlier
than
usual.
She
couldn’t
sleep
any
longer
because
she
was
so
excited
that
her
uncle
Mark
was
taking
her
to
the
beach.
She
had
always
loved
going
surfing
with
her
uncle.
She
put
her
swimming
suit
on
and
took
her
bag
quickly
that
she
had
prepared
the
night
got
before
and
went
outside
to
wait.
She
jumped
up
and
down
with
joy
when
she
saw
her
uncle’s
red
jeep
turn
the
corner
down
her
street.
Uncle
Mark
got
out
of
the
car
and
helped
Betty
get
in.
“Are
you
ready?”
he
asked.
“Yes!”
replied
Betty.
Uncle
Mark
could
see
the
excitement
in
her
face.
Suddenly
he
said
seriously,
“Well,
before
we
go,
I
have
to
let
you
know
that
a
shark
appeared
recently
where
we're
going
to
surf
today.”
Scared
and
shocked,
Betty
couldn’t
say
a
word.
“Haha!
I'm
kidding
you,”
Uncle
Mark
burst
out
laughing.
Betty
laughed
too.
She
knew
Uncle
Mark
liked
teasing
others.
“Let’s
go
and
have
some
breakfast,
I
know
just
the
place,”
Uncle
Mark
said.
They
went
to
a
breakfast
shop
and
ate
some
tacos(炸玉米饼).
After
breakfast
the
two
of
them
went
down
to
Pacific
Beach
and
got
their
surfboards
ready.
“First
you
have
to
wax(打蜡)
the
bottom,
explained
Uncle
Mark.
“I
know.
I’ve
watched
you
do
it
before!"
Betty
said
as
she
took
the
wax
from
Uncle
Mark's
hand.
It
took
about
15
minutes
to
wax
the
bottom
of
their
boards.
When
Betty
finished,
Uncle
Mark
looked
it
over
to
make
sure
it
was
done
well.
“Nice
job,
Betty,
you
wax
your
board
like
a
true
surfer.”
Finally,
they
were
ready
to
get
into
the
water.
They
carried
their
boards
down
to
the
beach
and
went
out
into
the
water.
Betty
was
overly
excited
and
tried
to
rush
to
catch
a
wave.
Predictably,
she
crashed
and
had
to
start
over.
Next
was
her
uncle's
turn.
He
stood
up
on
his
first
try
and
smoothly
surfed
the
wave
before
jumping
into
the
water.
Betty
cheered
for
her
uncle's
perfect
run.

He

He

She

He

the

she
saw
someone

she

It

So
bitter
a
dark
winter
day
in
1942
was
no
different
from
any
other
day
in
this
concentration
camp.
I
was
almost
dead,
surviving
from
day
to
day,
since
I
was
brought
here
with
thousands
of
other
Jews.
Each
day,
as
more
disappeared,
the
hungry
past
seemed
like
a
mere
dream,
and
I
sank
deeper
and
deeper
into
despair.
Suddenly,
I
noticed
a
young
girl,
on
the
other
side
of
the
barbed
wire,
stopped
and
looked
at
me
with
sad
eyes
seeming
to
say
that
she
understood.
Then
she
reached
into
her
pocket,
and
pulled
out
a
red
apple.
She
looked
cautiously
to
the
left
and
the
right
and
then
with
smile
of
triumph
quickly
threw
the
apple
over
the
fence.
I
ran
to
pick
it
up,
holding
it
in
my
trembling
frozen
fingers.
Her
eyes
twinkled.
In
my
world
of
death
this
apple
was
an
expression
of
life,
of
love.
She
came
at
the
same
time
to
the
spot
the
next
day.
And
again
she
brought
me
an
apple
flying
it
over
the
fence
with
that
same
sweet
smile.
For
seven
months
we
met
like
this.
Sometimes
we
exchanged
a
few
words,
sometimes
just
an
apple.
But
one
day
I
could
barely
speak
as
I
said
what
must
be
said:
“Don’
t
bring
me
an
apple
tomorrow.
I
am
being
sent
to
another
camp.”
Turning
before
I
lost
all
my
control,
I
run
away
and
I
couldn’t
stand
looking
back.
With
months
passing
and
nightmares
continuing,
the
memory
of
this
girl
sustained
me
through
the
hopelessness.
Over
and
over
in
my
mind,
I
saw
her
face,
her
kind
eyes,
I
heard
her
gentle
words,
I
tasted
those
apples.
And
then
the
war
ended
and
I
was
freed.
I
lost
everything
that
was
precious
to
me
including
my
family.
But
I
still
had
the
memory
of
this
girl,
a
memory
I
carried
in
my
heart
and
gave
me
the
will
to
go
on
as
I
moved
to
America
to
start
a
new
life.
In
the
New
York
City
a
friend
convinced
me
to
go

答案以及解析
一、
答案:
He

Douglas
ran
the

to
them.
He

the
stick
down
as
hard
as
he

The
attacker
backed
off
and
ran
down
the
street.
After
the
chase,
Douglas
and
two
other
bystanders
eventually
tackled
the
assailant
to
the
sidewalk.
They
tied
his
hands
with
a
rope
and
called
the
police
and
an
ambulance.
The
victim,
a
63-year-old
grandmother
named
Terri,
lay
on
the
road
unconsciously.
Passengers

Terri

from
the
attack
to
her
neck,
hand,
and
thigh,

Two
weeks

the
assault,
Douglas
visited
Terri
at
her
home.
He
brought
along
his
one-year-old
daughter
and
a
bouquet
of
flowers.
Seeing
Douglas,
Terri
became
teary
and
asked
her
son
to
help
her
to
her
feet
so
she
could
greet
her
savior.
“No,
you
don't
have
to
get
up,”
Douglas
told
her.
“Yes,
I
do,”
said
Terri
in
a
firm
voice.
It
was
the
only
way
she
could
give
him
a
proper
hug.
“Thank
you.
You're
all
I
had
to
help
me,”
she
said,
crying
into
his
chest.
“I
just
did
what
anybody
would
have
done,”
Douglas
replied.
Terri
disagreed.
Shaking
her
head,
she
said,
“Not
everyone
would
have
done
what
you
did.”

It

I
took

A

I

him,
"Honey,

Now,
Clayton

He

the

for
her
hundred-dollar
bill,
but

was
gone
by
the

her
eyes
when

don’t
owe
me
anything.
I
have
been
there

Somebody

the

I’m
helping

here
is
what

love
end
with

五、
答案:
?“Where
were
you
during
the
war?”
Roma
asked
me
gently.
“I
was
in
a
concentration
camp
in
Germany,”
I
replied.
“How
about
you?”
I
asked.
Roma
said
when
she
was
a
young
girl
she
lived
near
a
concentration
camp,
where
she
used
to
visit
a
boy
prisoner
every
day
bringing
him
apples.
she
would
throw
the
apple
over
the
fence
and
he
would
be
so
happy.
With
my
heart
pounding
so
loudly,
I
looked
directly
at
Roma
.
However,
I
tried
to
keep
calm.
I
asked
Roma
whether
the
boy
told
her
not
to
bring
an
apple
tomorrow
because
he
would
be
sent
to
another
camp.
She
was
amazed
on
hearing
what
I
said.
Tears
poured
down
her
cheeks.
She
found
out
I
was
the
boy
seeing
the
excited
tears
in
my
eyes
which
I
could
not
hold
back
any
longer.
I
took
her
hands
in
mine.
Finally,
I
said,
“Roma,
I
don’
t
ever
want
to
be
separated
from
you
again.
Now
I
am
free,
and
I
want
to
be
together
with
you
forever.
