【解析】
【分析】本文属于广告类文体。文章主要内容是招募愿意帮助有学习障碍的志愿工作者。在广告中提到了招募的志愿者的职位是Volunteer
Social
Care
Assistant
,志愿者将要工作的时间,地点,待遇(没有报酬但是提供免费饭菜),以及对申请人员的具体要求和工作内容,同时要求志愿者需要有爱心,而且有类似的工作经验的人会优先录用。
【1题详解】
推理判断题。文章开头以自问自答的方式向人们发出号召,让人们参与到志愿活动中,然后在下文详细介绍了志愿者工作的地点、时间、任务、要求等,由此可知文章主要目的是宣传这个广告,故选A。
【2题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章倒数第二段“But
your
primary
concern
is
to
let
them
know
they
are
valued.(但你最关心的是让他们知道他们是有价值的。)”可知,志愿者们除了帮助保护智障患者的安全外,最重要的任务就是让那些被帮助的人感到自身的价值和重要性。故选D。
【3题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章末段的小标题Skill
and
Experience
Required和末段中“Previous
care-related
experience
will
be
a
great
advantage
for
you.(以前的护理相关经验将会是你的一大优势。)”可知,有先前类似经验的人在申请这项工作时会优先得到录用。故选C。
B
Losing
your
ability
to
think
and
remember
is
pretty
frightening.
We
know
the
risk
of
dementia
(痴呆症)
increases
with
age.
But
if
you
have
memory
slips
you
probably
needn’t
worry.
There
are
pretty
clear
differences
between
signs
of
dementia
and
age-related
memory
loss.
After
age
50,
it’s
quite
common
to
have
trouble
remembering
the
names
of
people,
places
and
things
quickly,
says
Dr.
Kirk
Daffner
of
Brigham
and
Women’s
Hospital
in
Boston.
The
brain
ages
just
like
the
rest
of
the
body.
Certain
parts
become
smaller,
especially
areas
in
the
brain
that
are
important
to
learning,
memory
and
planning.
Changes
in
brain
cells
can
affect
communication
between
different
regions
of
the
brain.
And
blood
flow
can
be
reduced
as
blood
vessels
narrow.
Forgetting
the
name
of
an
actor
in
a
favorite
movie,
for
example,
is
nothing
to
worry
about.
But
if
you
forget
the
plot
of
the
movie
or
don’t
remember
even
seeing
it,
that’s
far
more
concerning,
Daffner
says.
When
you
forget
entire
experiences,
he
says,
that’s
“a
red
flag
that
something
more
serious
may
be
involved”.
Forgetting
how
to
operate
a
familiar
object
like
a
microwave
oven,
or
forgetting
how
to
drive
to
the
house
of
a
friend
you’ve
visited
many
times
before
can
also
be
signs
of
something
going
wrong
But
even
then,
Daffner
says,
people
shouldn’t
panic.
There
are
many
things
that
can
cause
confusion
and
memory
loss,
including
health
problems
like
temporary
stoppage
of
breathing
during
sleep,
high
blood
pressure,
or
depression,
as
well
as
medications
(药物)
like
antidepressants.
You
don’t
have
to
figure
this
out
on
your
own.
Daffner
suggests
going
to
your
doctor
to
check
on
medications,
health
problems
and
other
issues
that
could
be
affecting
memory.
And
the
best
defense
against
memory
loss
is
to
try
to
prevent
it
by
building
up
your
brain’s
cognitive(认知的)
reserve,
Daffner
says.
“Read
books,
go
to
movies,
take
on
new
hobbies
or
activities
that
force
one
to
think
in
novel
ways,
”
he
says.
In
other
words,
keep
your
brain
busy
and
working.
And
also
get
physically
active,
because
exercise
is
a
known
brain
booster
4.
Why
does
the
author
say
that
one
needn’t
be
concerned
about
memory
slips?
A.
Not
all
of
them
are
related
to
one’s
age.
B.
Not
all
of
them
are
symptoms
of
dementia.
C.
They
occur
only
among
certain
groups
of
people.
D.
They
are
quite
common
among
fifty-year-old
people.
5.
Which
memory-related
symptom
should
people
take
seriously
A.
Totally
forgetting
how
to
do
one’s
daily
routines.
B.
Inability
to
recall
details
of
one’s
life
experiences
C.
Failure
to
remember
the
names
of
movies
or
actors
D.
Occasionally
confusing
the
addresses
of
one’s
friends.
6.
What
should
people
do
when
signs
of
serious
memory
loss
show
up?
A.
Check
the
brain’s
cognitive
reserve.
B.
Stop
medications
affecting
memory.
C.
Turn
to
a
professional
for
assistance.
D.
Exercise
to
improve
their
well-being
7.
What
is
Dr.
Daffner’s
advice
for
fight
against
memory
loss?
A.
Having
regular
physical
and
mental
checkups.
B.
Taking
medicine
that
helps
boost
one’s
brain.
C.
Engaging
in
known
memory
repair
activities.
D.
Staying
active
both
physically
and
mentally
【答案】4.
B
5.
A
6.
C
7.

【分析】这是一篇说明文。文章主要向我们描述了痴呆的风险随着年龄的增加而增加,并提出了预防痴呆症的建议。
【4题详解】
推理判断题。根据文章第一段“But
if

you
probably
needn’t
worry.
There
are
pretty
clear
differences
between
signs
of
dementia
and
age-related
memory
loss.”(但如果你有记忆丧失,你可能不需要担心。在痴呆症和年龄相关的记忆丧失之间有非常明显的区别。)由此判断出,作者认为并非所有的记忆丧失都是痴呆的症状。故选B。
【5题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章第五段“When
you
forget
entire
experiences,
he
says,
that’s
“a
red
flag
that
something
more
serious
may
be
involved”.
Forgetting
how

also
be
signs
of
something
going
wrong”(他说,当你忘记了所有的经历时,这是“一个危险信号,可能涉及到更严重的问题”。忘记如何操作像微波炉这样熟悉的东西,或者忘记如何开车去你拜访过多次的朋友家里,也可能是出了问题的迹象)可知,人们对完全忘了如何做一天的日常工作的症状应该认真对待。故选A。
【6题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章倒数第二段“Daffner
suggests
going
to
your
doctor
to
check
on
medications,
health
problems
and
other
issues
that
could
be
affecting
memory.”(Daffner建议去看医生,检查药物、健康问题和其他可能影响记忆的问题。)可知,当出现严重失忆的迹象时,人们应该向专业人士寻求帮助。故选C。
【7题详解】
细节理解题。根据文章最后一段“In
other
words,
keep
your
brain
busy
and
working.
And
also
get
physically
active,
because
exercise

Daffner的建议是保持身体和精神上的活跃。故选D。

When
I
was
young,
my
mother
didn't
have
the
money
to
send
me
to
school,
but
she
thought
it
was
important
for
me
to
keep
up
with
education.So
she
decided
to
teach
me
extra
lessons
herself.But
because
she
had
to
go
to
work,
the
only
time
she
could
do
it
was
at
4:30
in
the
morning.
We
need
every

you
to
develop

not
just
quitting
on
yourself,
but
you're
quitting
on
your
country.
No
one's
written
your
destiny(命运)
for
you,
because
you
write
your
own
destiny.

make
your

future.That's
why
today
I'm

of
you
to

and
do
everything
you
can
to
meet
them.Your

can
be
something
as
simple
as
doing
all
your
homework,
paying
attention
in
class,
or
spending
some
time
reading
a
book.
But
whatever
you
decide
to
do,
I
want
you
to
commit
to
it.I
want
you
to
really
work
at
it.I
know
that
sometimes
you
get
that
sense
from
TV
that
you
can
be
rich
and
successful
without
any
hard
work—that
your
ticket
to
success
is
through
rapping
or
basketball
or
being
a
reality
TV
star.No
one's
born
being
good
at
all
things.
You
become
good
at
things
through
hard
work.You're
not
a
good
athlete
the
first
time
you
play
a
new
sport.You
don't
hit
every
note
the
first
time
you
sing
a
song.You've
got
to
practise.

Mikah

with
his

discussing
Christmas

he

Then
he

That
thought
stayed

Mikah

Mikah
informed
his

not
to

Mikah

donate
over
30
blankets
to
the
homeless.
He
knew
how
much
it
meant
to
be
warm
in
the
cold
holiday

Mikah
and
his
parents
were
the
ones
living
in
a
homeless
shelter.
Having
suffered
a
financial
crisis,
they
too
had

their
house,
not
knowing
where
their
next
meal
would
come
from
and
sharing
a
blanket
every
night.
Mikah
was
six
years
old
then
but
he
remembered
what
it
was
like
to
have
to
give
back
that
precious
blanket
every
morning.
Reaching
out
to
the
emergency
shelter
programme
that
looked
after
them
3
years
ago,
the
family
donated
60
blankets
in
the
end,
each
with
a
personalized
message
of
hope
in
Mikah’s
handwriting
stating:
“They
gave
me
a
blanket,
but
I
had
to
leave
it.
That’s
why
I
want
you
to
have
your
own
blanket.
Today,
I
live
in
my
own
house,
and
someday
you
will
too.
Your
friend,
Mikah.”

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇应用文。文中对对学生如何与舍友愉快相处以及与舍友形成互帮互助的关系提出了几点建议。
【16题详解】
空格位于段中。由空格后的however可知,前边一句话与后边这句话(它也能成为你大学经历中很重要的一部分)句意是相反关系,且由后边句子中的主语it可知,前边一句话应该有一个单数意义的名词或名词短语。只有选项D(Having
a
roommate)与选项E(Living
with
a
roommate)中有单数意义的名词,再根据句意相反,challenges与a
great
part
of
your
college
experience可以构成想法意思,故选D。
【17题详解】
空格位于段中。由本段小标题可知,本段话主要谈论:一开始就让它变清晰。空格前两句话分别讲的是自己不喜欢的事情和喜欢的事情,也就是自己的喜好。选项C中的“Let
your
roommate
know”与小标题中的clear呼应,选项C中的“your
preferences”与前两句话呼应,且这个复数名词与下句中的them呼应,故选C。
【18题详解】
空格位于小标题处。小标题下内容是(没有获得允许的情况下不要借、用、拿走任何东西),选项A(尊重你舍友的东西)与这一段内容呼应,故选A。
【19题详解】
空格位于段中。前一句意思为:在学校的时间,你会学习、成长并改变。下一句话的意思是:当学期慢慢过掉时,认识到你们俩将都会改变。由“will
change
for
both
of
you”可知,空格处应该论述对方的改变。选项G(如果一切顺利的话,一样的改变业也会发生在你舍友身上。)符合情景。且选项G中的“the
same
should
happen”与上句中的“to
learn
and
grow
and
change”呼应。故选G。
【20题详解】
空格位于段首。本段小标题意思为“遵守黄金原则”。空格后句意为“无论年底你们的关系如何,知道你自己的行为像一个大人,并且你也很尊敬你的舍友会给你带来很多安慰。根据常识以及后边句子的解释,可知我们应该像我们想要被对待的一样去对待别人。故选E。
【点睛】七选五题目主要考查学生综合的英语逻辑思维能力。一篇好的短文,不仅在内容上要前后一致,而且还要语篇结构清晰,上下文逻辑意义严谨。内容的前后一致体现在段内及语篇内话题的自然过渡。语篇结构主要体现为:文章是总分结构,还是按时间或空间顺序发展的,还是辩证三段论的编排的。逻辑意义的严谨最主要的可以通过代词、连词和副词等形式来体现。本文是一篇带有小标题的应用文,结构比较明显。第二题,第四题,第五题都可以由内容与小标题呼应解题,主要是由主旨内容推下边段落中的细节。第三题则是由段落细节推小标题。本篇七选五,同学们除了利用小标题与其下段落内容一致的原则外,还需要注意例如第一题中however连词以及it指代,第二题中them指代这些原则。这些原则做题时比内容一致性更容易发现,准确度也更高,因为它们体现的是语言间的逻辑关系。具体可以看详解中的分析。

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇说明文。文章介绍了动物学家Dian
Fossey
的故事。
【36题详解】
考查介词和固定搭配。句意:Dian
Fossey
被认为是20世纪的英雄之一。be
regarded
as…被视为……,固定搭配。故填as。
【37题详解】
考查冠词。句意:她是一个外向、善良的人。空处需用不定冠词a/an泛指一个外向的人,outgoing是元音音素开头的单词,所以空处需用不定冠词an。故填an。
【38题详解】
考查非谓语动词。句意:然而,她对动物的兴趣,以及一位名叫George
Schaller的美国科学家的著作,激励她向未来的工作迈出了第一步。本句已有谓语inspired,且空处没有连词,所以空处需用非谓语;空处动词call与空前名词
scientist之间是被动关系,所以空处需用过去分词作后置定语。故填called。
【39题详解】
考查动词不定式。句意:同上。inspire
sb.
to
do
sth.激励某人做某事,固定搭配,所以空处需用动词不定式作宾语补足语。故填to
take。
【40题详解】
考查连词。句意:因为大猩猩让她产生了兴趣,所以Dian
决定攻读博士学位。根据空前后句意可知,此处需用because“因为”引导原因状语从句,句首单词首字母需大写。故填Because。
【41题详解】
考查定语从句。句意:在她完成学位后,她写了一本关于与她生活在一起的大猩猩的书。分析句子结构可知,空处需用连词引导定语从句,先行词是gorillas,指物,关系词在定语从句中作介词的宾语,所以空处需用关系代词which/that引导定语从句,关系词在定语从句中作宾语,也可以省略。故填that/which/不填。
【42题详解】
考查副词。句意:不幸的是,她在1985年被谋杀了。空处需用副词作状语修饰空后整个句子,被谋杀是一件不幸的事情,所以空处需用副词unluckily“不幸地”,句首首字母需大写。故填Unluckily。
【43题详解】
考查代词。句意:Dian
Fossey至今仍活在我们心中。空处需用形容词性物主代词作定语修饰名词hearts
。故填our。
【44题详解】
考查被动语态。句意:他们受到政府和各种组织的保护。protect保护,动词作谓语,结合前一句和空后“by
governments
”可知,空处谓语动词需用一般现在时态的被动语态:be
done,主语是第三人称复数they,所以空处be动词需用are。故填are
protected。
【45题详解】
考查名词。句意:同上。various
各种各样的,形容词作定语修饰名词,organize的名词为organization“组织”,其复数为organizations。故填organizations。

D.
The

B
Losing
your
ability
to
think
and
remember
is
pretty
frightening.
We
know
the
risk
of
dementia
(痴呆症)
increases
with
age.
But
if
you
have
memory
slips,
you
probably
needn’t
worry.
There
are
pretty
clear
differences
between
signs
of
dementia
and
age-related
memory
loss.
After
age
50,
it’s
quite
common
to
have
trouble
remembering
the
names
of
people,
places
and
things
quickly,
says
Dr.
Kirk
Daffner
of
Brigham
and
Women’s
Hospital
in
Boston.
The
brain
ages
just
like
the
rest
of
the
body.
Certain
parts
become
smaller,
especially
areas
in
the
brain
that
are
important
to
learning,
memory
and
planning.
Changes
in
brain
cells
can
affect
communication
between
different
regions
of
the
brain.
And
blood
flow
can
be
reduced
as
blood
vessels
narrow.
Forgetting
the
name
of
an
actor
in
a
favorite
movie
for
example,
is
nothing
to
worry
about.
But
if
you
forget
the
plot
of
the
movie
or
don’t
remember
even
seeing
it,
that’s
far
more
concerning,
Daffner
says.
When
you
forget
entire
experiences,
he
says,
that’s
“a
red
flag
that
something
more
serious
may
be
involved”.
Forgetting
how
to
operate
a
familiar
object
like
a
microwave
oven,
or
forgetting
how
to
drive
to
the
house
of
a
friend
you’ve
visited
many
times
before
can
also
be
signs
of
something
going
wrong
But
even
then,
Daffner
says,
people
shouldn’t
panic.
There
are
many
things
that
can
cause
confusion
and
memory
loss,
including
health
problems
like
temporary
stoppage
of
breathing
during
sleep,
high
blood
pressure,
or
depression,
as
well
as
medications
(药物)
like
antidepressants.
You
don’t
have
to
figure
this
out
on
your
own.
Daffner
suggests
going
to
your
doctor
to
check
on
medications,
health
problems
and
other
issues
that
could
be
affecting
memory.
And
the
best
defense
against
memory
loss
is
to
try
to
prevent
it
by
building
up
your
brain’s
cognitive(认知的)
reserve,
Daffner
says.
“Read
books,
go
to
movies,
take
on
new
hobbies
or
activities
that
force
one
to
think
in
novel
ways,
”
he
says.
In
other
words,
keep
your
brain
busy
and
working.
And
also
get
physically
active,
because
exercise
is
a
known
brain
booster

When
I
was
young,
my
mother
didn't
have
the
money
to
send
me
to
school,
but
she
thought
it
was
important
for
me
to
keep
up
with
education.So
she
decided
to
teach
me
extra
lessons
herself.But
because
she
had
to
go
to
work,
the
only
time
she
could
do
it
was
at
4:30
in
the
morning.
We
need
every
one
of
you
to
develop
your
talents
and
your
skills
so
that
you
can
help
us
old
folks
solve
our
most
difficult
problems.
If
you
quit
on
school—you're
not
just
quitting
on
yourself,
but
you're
quitting
on
your
country.
No
one's
written
your
destiny(命运)
for
you,
because
you
write
your
own
destiny.
You
make
your
own
future.That's
why
today
I'm
calling
on
each
of
you
to
set
your
own
goals
for
your
education
and
do
everything
you
can
to
meet
them.Your
goal
can
be
something
as
simple
as
doing
all
your
homework,
paying
attention
in
class,
or
spending
some
time
reading
a
book.
But
whatever
you
decide
to
do,
I
want
you
to
commit
to
it.I
want
you
to
really
work
at
it.I
know
that
sometimes
you
get
that
sense
from
TV
that
you
can
be
rich
and
successful
without
any
hard
work—that
your
ticket
to
success
is
through
rapping
or
basketball
or
being
a
reality
TV
star.No
one's
born
being
good
at
all
things.
You
become
good
at
things
through
hard
work.You're
not
a
good
athlete
the
first
time
you
play
a
new
sport.You
don't
hit
every
note
the
first
time
you
sing
a
song.You've
got
to
practise.

Mikah
Frye,
a
9-year-old
boy,
was
walking
down
the
streets
with
his
grandmother
discussing
Christmas
gifts
when
he
saw
some
homeless
people
struggling
to
stay
warm
in
the
cold
night.
Then
he
was
thinking
about
a
way
to
help
the
homeless
to
spend
a
warm
Christmas.
That
thought
stayed
in
Mikah
Frye’s
mind
and
when
he
reached
home,
Mikah
informed
his
parents
not
to
buy
the
Microsoft
XBox
gaming
device
he
had
asked
for
earlier.
Mikah
realized
that
by
not
buying
the
$300
device,
he
could
instead
donate
over
30
blankets
to
the
homeless.
He
knew
how
much
it
meant
to
be
warm
in
the
cold
holiday
season.
Three
years
ago,
Mikah
and
his
parents
were
the
ones
living
in
a
homeless
shelter.
Having
suffered
a
financial
crisis,
they
too
had
lost
their
house,
not
knowing
where
their
next
meal
would
come
from
and
sharing
a
blanket
every
night.
Mikah
was
six
years
old
then
but
he
remembered
what
it
was
like
to
have
to
give
back
that
precious
blanket
every
morning.
Reaching
out
to
the
emergency
shelter
programme
that
looked
after
them
3
years
ago,
the
family
donated
60
blankets
in
the
end,
each
with
a
personalized
message
of
hope
in
Mikah’s
handwriting
stating:
“They
gave
me
a
blanket,
but
I
had
to
leave
it.
That’s
why
I
want
you
to
have
your
own
blanket.
Today,
I
live
in
my
own
house,
and
someday
you
will
too.
Your
friend,
Mikah.”
The
homeless
people
at
the
shelter
may
not
have
been
able
to
give
Mikah
a
Christmas
gift
in
return
but
his
gesture
was
noted
by
the
billion
dollar
company
Microsoft
who
made
sure
that
Mikah
was
fooled
into
visiting
their
store
so
that
Santa
Claus
could
personally
deliver
an
XBox
from
the
company
to
him
as
a
reward
for
making
the
top
of
“Santa’s
list
of
nice
boys”
that
year.
12.

did
Mikah
give
up
his
Christmas
gift?
A.
The
device
was
out
of
date.
B.
His
parents
had
a
tight
budget.
C.
He
wanted
to
spend
a
warm
Christmas.
D.
He
decided
to
do
something
charitable.
13.
What
made
Mikah
have
a
better
understanding
of
the
situation
of
the
homeless?
A.
His
own
experience.
B.
His
parents’
education.
C.
His
visiting
to
the
emergency
shelter.
D.
The
cold
weather
during
the
holiday
season.
14.
What
can
be
inferred
from
the
last
two
paragraphs?
A.
The
homeless
gave
Mikah
a
gift
in
return.
B.
He
finally
got
the
gift
he
wanted
on
Christmas.
C.
The
company
Microsoft
fooled
Mikah
into
buying
an
Xbox.
D.
Mikah
wrote
a
thank-you
note
to
the
emergency
shelter
he
lived
in.

You
may
have
grown
up
living
with
sisters
and
brothers,
or
this
may
be
your
first
time
sharing
your
living
space
with
someone
else.
___16___
However,
it
can
also
be
a
great
part
of
your
college
experience.
Follow
these
tips
to
make
sure
you
and
your
roommate
keep
things
pleasant
and
supportive
throughout
the
year.
Be
clear
from
the
beginning.
Maybe
you
hate
it
when
someone
interrupts
you
when
you
are
sleeping
every
morning.
Maybe
you
need
ten
minutes
to
yourself
before
talking
to
anyone
after
you
wake
up.
___17___
It's
not
fair
to
expect
him
or
her
to
accept
them
right
away,
and
communicating
what
you
need
is
one
of
the
best
ways
to
get
rid
of
problems
before
they
become
problems.
___18___
This
may
seem
simple,
but
it's
probably
one
of
the
biggest
reasons
why
roommates
experience
conflicts.
Don't
you
think
he’ll
mind
if
you
borrow
his
shoes
for
a
quick
soccer
game?
For
all
you
know,
you
just
stepped
over
an
uncrossable
line.
Don't
borrow,
use,
or
take
anything
without
getting
permission
first.
Be
open
to
change.
You
should
expect
to
learn
and
grow
and
change
during
your
time
at
school.
___19___
As
the
term
progresses,
realize
things
will
change
for
both
of
you.
Be
comfortable
dealing
with
things
that
unexpectedly
come
up,
setting
new
rules,
and
being
flexible
to
your
changing
environment.
Follow
the
Golden
Rule.
___20___
No
matter
what
your
relationship
is
at
the
end
of
the
year,
you
can
take
comfort
knowing
you
acted
like
an
adult
and
treated
your
roommate
with
respect.
A.
Respect
your
roommate's
things.
B.
You
should
correct
your
bad
habits
first.
C.
Let
your
roommate
know
about
your
preferences.
D.
Having
a
roommate
surely
has
its
challenges.
E.
Treat
your
roommate
like
you'd
like
to
be
treated.
F.
Living
with
a
roommate
is
really
a
wonderful
thing.
G.
And
the
same
should
happen
to
your
roommate,
if
all
goes
well.

Running
for
a
Dream
I
will
never
forget
that
November
day.
It
was
hotter
than
normal.
This
was
the
___21___
my
father
and
I
had
waited
so
long
for,
because
we
had
been
working
towards
this
race
for
three
years.
Dozens
of
familiar
faces
from
church
and
school
flashed
across
my
view.
They
had
come
for
me.
I
saw
worry
and
___22___
on
my
father’s
face.
Then
the
race
began!
For
the
first
two
and
a
half
miles,
I
felt
great.
I
had
never
before
been
so
ready
for
something.
The
weeks
leading
up
to
the
race
were
filled
with
controlled
___23___
and
a
strict
diet.
My
friends
hadn’t
seen
me
in
weeks,
but
they
___24___
the
sacrifice
(牺牲)
required
to
make
my
dream
a
reality.
As
in
all
of
my
races,
I
didn’t
___25___
out
in
the
front.
I
loved
the
pleasure
of
passing
people
as
my
strength
overtook
their
premature
(过早的)
speed.
Then
without
warning,
my
strength
began
to
decrease.
Neck
and
neck
with
one
of
my
greatest
competitors,
I
could
see
the
finish
line.
I
had
begun
the
final
dash
into
___26___
when
my
knees
became
weak
and
my
legs
gave
way.
Nothing
I
could
do
would
make
them
___27___
my
weight.
I
watched
as
runners
rushed
by
me.
Although
I
knew
my
dreams
of
victory
were
destroyed,
I
had
to
finish
the
race.
However,
my
legs
hurt
badly.
With
all
of
the
___28___
left
in
me,
I
got
on
my
hands
and
knees
and
crawled
(爬),
inch
by
inch,
across
the
finish
line.
Voices,
both
foreign
and___29___
cheered
me
on.
They
gave
me
the
courage
to
keep
going
until
the
very
end.
The
doctors
were
there
in
seconds,
but
my
eyes
searched
the
crowd
for
him.
There
was
only
one
person
I
wanted
to
___30___
to.
I
whispered,
“I’m
so
sorry,
Dad.
I’m
so
sorry
I
___31___
you.”
He
looked
at
me,
saying,
“You
could
never
disappoint
me.
Sometimes
these
things
just
___32___.
All
that
matters
is
that
you
did
your
best.”
“But
we
worked
so
___33___.
What
about
our
dream?”
He
reached
over
for
my
hand
and
said,
“Don’t
you
know
that
you
are
my
dream
and
it
has
come
true?”
It
wasn’t
long
before
my
running
shoes
were
back
on,
marking
a
___34___
path
for
my
journey.
I
learned
that
all
of
the
miles,
the
tears,
the
sweat,
and
the
pain
my
dad
and
I
experienced
together
were
not

international
company
followed
by
a
month
in
a
hospital.
After
that,
I
could
make
a
decision.
It
seemed
like
a
brilliant
idea.
I
was
accepted
for
a
month's
placement
at
a
foreign
bank
in
Karachi.
I
got
a
feel
for
how
the
world
of
finance
functioned,
made
new
friends,
and
generally
enjoyed
the
mostly
easy-going
work
surroundings.
The
month
passed
rapidly,
and
soon
I
began
working
at
a
leading
hospital
in
Karachi.
The
experience
couldn't
have
been
more
different.
The
hospital
had
an
intense
environment.
The
days
started
early(
at
7
am,
compared
to
9
am
at
the
bank),
and
were
filled
with
endless
duties.
And
the
night
calls!
This
was
crazy,
working
all
day,
through
the
night,
and
again
the
next
day.
I
began
thinking
about
my
two
experiences.
The
bank
had
offered
a
more
relaxing
atmosphere,
better
working
hours
and
less
stress.
The
hospital
was
full
of
excitement
and
unpredictability,
but
the
studying
and
training
was
difficult.
It
seemed
that
the
business
option
was
going
to
win
out.
Near
the
end
of
my
month
at
the
hospital,
I
was
driving
home
after
an
especially
busy
night
call.
In
front
of
me
was
a
public
bus,
with
college
students
sitting
on
the
top.
As
the
driver
weaved
through
(穿梭)
traffic,
I
could
see
the
boys
shaking
from
side
to
side.
Paragraph
1:
Suddenly,
a
boy
fell
off
the
back
of
the
bus.

Paragraph
2:
The
next
day,
when
I
went
to
hospital
to
see
the
boy,
all
his
family
got
up,
with
grateful
smiles
on
their
faces.
