“Once
upon
a
time
there
was
a
tiny
country
called
Cornucopia.”
Released
after
years
in
lockdown,
this
fairy
story
like
so
many
unfinished
projects
has
been
dusted
off
in
the
corona
virus
(冠状病毒)
crisis.
“I
liked
it
because
it’s
another
book
by
JK
Rowling
and
I
like
the
Harry
Potter
book.”
said
one
of
her
fans.
JK
Rowling
surprised
fans
with
the
news
on
Twitter
of
the
stand-alone
fairy
tale
called
The
Ickabog
alongside
pictures
of
the
until
now
unpublished
manuscript
(手稿).
She
revealed
how
she’d
come
to
think
of
it
as
just
for
the
family
and
kept
it
in
the
attic,
but
that
after
a
bit
of
rewriting
she’d
now
decided
to
publish
The
Ickabog
for
free
online
so
children
in
lockdown
can
read
it
or
have
it
read
to
them.
The
author
confirmed
the
existence
of
the
story
about
truth
and
power
in
an
interview
three
years
ago.
“Oh,
that
was
a
fairy
tale.
Yeah,
and
I
ended
up.
I
don’t
know
whether
I’ll
ever
publish
that.”
But
she’s
keen
to
point
out
it
is
not
Harry
Potter
and
it
doesn’t
include
magic.
Children’s
author
Nicola
Riley
says
during
the
crisis
it’s
just
what
children
need.
“If
you
can
provide
something
a
story,
an
adventure
that
will
take
them
to
a
magical
world
and
transport
them
there,
then
I
think
it
will
really
help
right
now.”
Young
readers
are
being
asked
to
submit
their
own
artwork
to
illustrate
the
book
when
it
goes
to
print.
But
for
now
its
online
installments
(部分)
are
leaving
them
fascinated.

book.
7.

A
Fairy

Corona
Crisis
B.
JK.

C.

D.
A
Magical

C
Smartphones,
tablets
and
other
digital
devices
can
be
addictive.
They
affect
sleep.
They
draw
kids
into
an
alternate
universe,
often
distracting(使分心)them
from
more
productive-and
healthier-real-world
activities.
And
they
are
often
linked
to
anxiety
and
depression,
learning
disabilities
and
obesity(肥胖).
Yet
for
many
teenagers,
cellphones
and
social
media
are
also
absolutely
necessary
tools
for
planning
their
social
lives,
keeping
up
with
schoolwork
and
staying
in
touch
with
out-of-town
friends
and
relatives.
How
can
parents
make
the
most
of
the
constructive
uses
of
screen-based
technology
while
minimizing
its
harmful
effects?
The
key
is
helping
kids
use
technology
as
a
tool,
not
a
toy,
“where
there’s
some
purpose
other
than
the
medication
of
boredom,”
says
Jim
Taylor,
a
psychologist
and
author
of
the
book
Raising
Generation
Tech:Preparing
Your
Children
for
a
Media-fueled
World.
Taylor,
like
many
other
medical
and
mental
health
professionals,
advises
parents
to
set
limits
and
stick
to
them.
They
should
restrict
the
amount
of
time
their
kids
spend
on
devices,
create
tech-free
zones-no
cellphones
in
their
bedrooms,
for
example-and
tech-free
times,
such
as
at
the
dinner
table,
in
restaurants
and
on
family
outings.
Perhaps
the
best
thing
you
can
do
is
serve
as
a
good
role
model
by
exhibiting
the
same
online
behavior
you
expect
of
your
children,
says
Dr.
Elias
Aboujaoude,
a
Stanford
University
psychiatrist.
“If
parents
are
breaking
their
own
rules,”
Aboujaoude
says,
“kids
cannot
be
expected
to
behave
differently.”
Chad
Landgraf,
44,
of
Oklahoma,
told
me
he
was
worried
about
how
addicted
his
12-year-old
son
and
5-year-old
daughter
became
when
they
were
on
their
devices.
So,
hoping
to
set
an
example,
he
switched
from
e-books
to
old-fashioned
print.
“When
I
had
my
Kindle
or
ipad
open,
they.
didn’t
know
if
I
was
reading
or
surfing
the
net,”
Landgraf
says.
“But
at
least
if
I
have
a
paper
copy
of
a
book,
they
know
I
am
reading.
Modeling
seems
like
the
easiest
way.”
8.
What
may
be
the
result
of
children’s
using
digital
devices?
A.
Health
improvement.
B.
Free
creation.
C.
Sleep
disorder.
D.
Good
conduct
9.
What
does
Jim
Taylor
suggest
parents
doing?
A.
Killing
time
by
using
screen-based
technology.
B.
Forbidding
kids
using
smartphones.
C.
Setting
clear
boundaries
for
kids.
D.
Restricting
tech-free
family
time.
10.
Why
did
Chad
pick
up
old-fashioned
print?
A.
He
was
afraid
of
becoming
addicted.
B.
He
expected
to
be
a
role
model.
C.
He
was
tired
of
surfing
the
net.
D.
He
preferred
paper
copies
of
books.
11.
What
can
be
a
suitable
title
for
the
text?
A
Parenting
in
a
digital
world
B.
Learning
to
be
intelligent
parents
C.
Using
smart
devices
wisely
D.
Helping
children
behave
themselves
D
We
live
in
a
town
with
three
beaches.
There
are
two
parts
less
than
10
minutes’
walk
from
home
where
neighborhood
children
gather
to
play.
However,
what
my
children
want
to
do
after
school
is
pick
up
a
screen

any
screen

and
stare
at
it
for
hours.
They
are
not
alone.
Today's
children
spend
an
average
of
four
and
a
half
hours
a
day
looking
at
screens,
split
between
watching
television
and
using
the
Internet.
In
the
past
few
years,
an
increasing
number
of
people
and
organisations
have
begun
coming
up
with
plans
to
counter
this
trend.
A
couple
of
years
ago
film-maker
David
Bond
realised
that
his
children,
then
aged
five
and
three,
were
attached
to
screens
to
the
point
where
he
was
able
to
say
“chocolate”
into
his
three-year-old
son’s
ear
without
getting
a
response.
He
realised
that
something
needed
to
change,
and,
being
a
London
media
type,
appointed
himself
“marketing
director
from
Nature”.
He
documented
his
journey
as
he
set
about
treating
nature
as
a
brand
to
be
marketed
to
young
people.
The
result
was
Project
Wild
Thing,
a
film
which
charts
the
birth
of
the
World
Network,
a
group
of
organisations
with
the
common
goal
of
getting
children
out
into
nature.
“Just
five
more
minutes
outdoors
can
make
a
difference,”
David
Bond
says.
“There
is
a
lot
of
really
interesting
evidence
which
seems
to
be
suggesting
that
if
children
are
inspired
up
to
the
age
of
seven,
then
being
outdoors
will
be
on
habit
for
life.”
His
own
children
have
got
into
the
habit
of
playing
outside
now:
“We
just
send
them
out
into
the
garden
and
tell
them
not
to
come
back
in
for
a
while.”
Summer
is
upon
us.
There
is
an
amazing
world
out
there,
and
it
needs
our
children
as
much
as
they
need
it.
Let
us
get
them
out
and
let
them
play.
12.

with
the

of
doing
their
homework.
C.
They
have
no
friends

with
D.
They

of

for
too
long.
13.
How
did
David
Bond
advocate
his
idea?
A.
By
making
a
documentary
film.
B.
By
organizing
outdoor
activities.
C.
By
advertising
in
London
media.
D.
By

Swap,
Don’t

You
keep

about

right?
But
it
doesn't
end
with
bottles,

Clothing
takes
a
huge
amount
of
natural

and
buying
loads

not
healthy

So
what
to

all

Goes
Around,
Comes
Around
One
day
a
man
saw
an
old
lady
standing
on
the
roadside.
Even
in
the
weak
light
of
day,
he
could
see
she
needed
help.
So
he
pulled
up
in
front
of
her
car
and
got
out.
Even
with
the
smile
on
his
face,
she
was
worried.
No
one
had
stopped
to
help
for
the
last
hour.
She
looked
poor
and
hungry.
He
could
see
that
she
was
frightened.
He
said,
“I’m
here
to
help
you,
madam.
Why
don’t
you
wait
in
the
car
where
it’s
warm?
By
the
way,
my
name
is
Bryan
Anderson.”
Well,
all
she
had
was
a
flat
tire,
but
for
an
old
lady,
that
was
bad
enough.
Bryan
went
under
the
car
looking
for
a
place
to
put
the
jack(千斤顶).
Soon
he
was
able
to
change
the
tire.
As
he
was
finishing,
she
rolled
down
the
window
and
told
him
that
she
couldn’t
thank
him
enough.
Then
she
asked
how
much
she
owed
him.
Bryan
just
smiled.
He
never
thought
twice
about
being
paid.
This
was
helping
someone
in
need,
and
there
were
plenty,
who
had
given
him
a
hand
in
the
past.
He
had
lived
his
whole
life
that
way.
He
told
her
that
if
she
really
wanted
to
pay
him
back,
the
next
time
she
saw
someone
who
needed
help,
she
could
give
that
person
the
assistance
they
needed.
It
had
been
a
cold
and
depressing
day,
but
he
felt
good
as
he
headed
for
home.
A
few
miles
down
the
road
the
lady
saw
a
small
cafe.
She
went
in
to
grab
a
bite
to
eat,
and
warn
herself
up
before
making
the
last
leg
of
her
trip
home.
The
waitress
came
over
and
brought
a
clean
towel(毛巾)to
wipe
her
wet
hair.
She
had
a
sweet
smile,
though
she
had
been
on
her
feet
for
a
whole
day.
The
lady
noticed
she
was
nearly
eight
months
pregnant(怀孕的),
but
she
never
let
the
tension
and
aches
change
her
attitude.
The
lady
wondered
how
someone
who
had
so
little
could
be
so
giving
to
a
stranger.
Then
she
remembered
Bryan.

The

confirmed
the

of
the

after
years
in
lockdown可知,这个故事被尘封多年后重新翻了出来,dusted
off(抹去灰尘)是一种比喻的说法,就是指“重新出现”。故选C项。
【5题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三自然段“She

(但就目前而言,它的在线剧集让他们着迷)”可知,这本书的在线剧集已经吸引了读者。故选C项。
【7题详解】
主旨大意题。本文是一篇新闻报道,首段““Once

Rowling尘封多年的故事重新被拿了出来,下文都是围绕这一话题展开,介绍了关于这本书的内容和其背后的故事,所以用“JK.
Rowling
Released

C
Smartphones,
tablets
and
other
digital
devices
can
be
addictive.
They
affect
sleep.
They
draw
kids
into
an
alternate
universe,
often
distracting(使分心)them
from
more
productive-and
healthier-real-world
activities.
And
they
are
often
linked
to
anxiety
and
depression,
learning
disabilities
and
obesity(肥胖).
Yet
for
many
teenagers,
cellphones
and
social
media
are
also
absolutely
necessary
tools
for
planning
their
social
lives,
keeping
up
with
schoolwork
and
staying
in
touch
with
out-of-town
friends
and
relatives.
How
can
parents
make
the
most
of
the
constructive
uses
of
screen-based
technology
while
minimizing
its
harmful
effects?
The
key
is
helping
kids
use
technology
as
a
tool,
not
a
toy,
“where
there’s
some
purpose
other
than
the
medication
of
boredom,”
says
Jim
Taylor,
a
psychologist
and
author
of
the
book
Raising
Generation
Tech:Preparing
Your
Children
for
a
Media-fueled
World.
Taylor,
like
many
other
medical
and
mental
health
professionals,
advises
parents
to
set
limits
and
stick
to
them.
They
should
restrict
the
amount
of
time
their
kids
spend
on
devices,
create
tech-free
zones-no
cellphones
in
their
bedrooms,
for
example-and
tech-free
times,
such
as
at
the
dinner
table,
in
restaurants
and
on
family
outings.
Perhaps
the
best
thing
you
can
do
is
serve
as
a
good
role
model
by
exhibiting
the
same
online
behavior
you
expect
of
your
children,
says
Dr.
Elias
Aboujaoude,
a
Stanford
University
psychiatrist.
“If
parents
are
breaking
their
own
rules,”
Aboujaoude
says,
“kids
cannot
be
expected
to
behave
differently.”
Chad
Landgraf,
44,
of
Oklahoma,
told
me
he
was
worried
about
how
addicted
his
12-year-old
son
and
5-year-old
daughter
became
when
they
were
on
their
devices.
So,
hoping
to
set
an
example,
he
switched
from
e-books
to
old-fashioned
print.
“When
I
had
my
Kindle
or
ipad
open,
they.
didn’t
know
if
I
was
reading
or
surfing
the
net,”
Landgraf
says.
“But
at
least
if
I
have
a
paper
copy
of
a
book,
they
know
I
am
reading.
Modeling
seems
like
the
easiest
way.”

10.
Why
did

We

plans
to
counter
this
trend.
A
couple
of
years
ago
film-maker
David
Bond
realised
that
his
children,
then
aged
five
and
three,
were
attached
to
screens
to
the
point
where
he
was
able
to
say
“chocolate”
into
his
three-year-old
son’s
ear
without
getting
a
response.
He
realised
that
something
needed
to
change,
and,
being
a
London
media
type,
appointed
himself
“marketing
director
from
Nature”.
He
documented
his
journey
as
he
set
about
treating
nature
as
a
brand
to
be
marketed
to
young
people.
The
result
was
Project
Wild

a
film
which
charts
the
birth
of
the
World
Network,
a
group
of
organisations
with
the
common
goal
of
getting
children
out
into
nature.
“Just
five
more
minutes
outdoors
can
make
a
difference,”
David
Bond
says.
“There
is
a
lot
of
really
interesting
evidence
which
seems
to
be
suggesting
that
if
children
are
inspired
up
to
the
age
of
seven,
then
being
outdoors
will
be
on
habit
for
life.”
His
own
children
have
got
into
the
habit
of
playing
outside
now:
“We
just
send
them
out
into
the
garden
and
tell
them
not
to
come
back
in
for
a
while.”
Summer
is
upon
us.
There
is
an
amazing
world
out
there,
and
it
needs
our
children
as
much
as
they
need
it.
Let
us
get
them
out
and
let
them
play.
12.
What
is
the
problem
with
the

their

C.
They
have
no
friends
to

with
D.
They

for
too
long.
13.
How
did
David
Bond
advocate
his

(然而,我的孩子们放学后想做的是拿起一个屏幕——任何屏幕——盯着它看几个小时)”可知,作者的孩子在屏幕前呆的时间太长了。故选D项。
【13题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段“He

(他记录了他的旅程,他开始把大自然当作一个品牌,让年轻人看到)”可知,David
Bond通过拍一个纪录片宣传他的想法。故选A项。
【14题详解】
词句猜测题。根据划线词上文“a
film”可知,本句主语是一部电影,下文“the
birth
of
the
World

阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
Swap,
Don’t
shop!
You
keep
hearing
about
recycling,
right?
But
it
doesn't
end
with
bottles,
cans,
and
paper.
Clothing
takes
a
huge
amount
of
natural
resources(资源)to
make,
and
buying
loads
of
new
clothing(or
throwing
out
old
clothing)is
not
healthy
for
the
environment.
So
what
to
do
with
all
those
perfectly-good-but-you're-maybe-a-little-sick-of-them
clothes
piled
on
your
bedroom
floor?
____16____.
It's
the
best
way
to
get
rid
of
your
used
clothes,
score
clothes
from
your
friends,
and
have
a

all
at
the

A
successful
swap
depends
on
the
selection
of
clothes,
the
organization
of
the
event,
and,
obviously,
how
much
fun
is
had.
It's
really
easy
to
do!
Here
are
a
few
pointers.
●Invite
5—10
people
so
you
have
a
nice
selection.
____17____
,
and
there
may
not
be
enough
things
to
choose
from;
more
than
that,
and
it
becomes
uncontrollable.
●____18____.
They
should
also
prepare
plenty
of
reusable
bags
to
carry
their
"new"
clothes
home.
●Put
different
types
of
clothing
on
different
surfaces
in
the
room.____19____.
Place
a
few
mirrors
around
your
room
so
people
can
see
how
things
look
when
they
try
them
on.
One
of
the
ground
rules
of
the
swap
should
be
that
everyone
must
try
on
the
clothes
before
they
take
them—things
always
look
different
when
you
put
them
on.
●Set
a
starting
time.
Maybe
you
say
“go,”
or
turn
on
a
certain
song,
or
whatever.
____20____.
And
don't
forget
to
put
out
some
cookies
and
fruits.
Remember,
it's
a
party!
A.
Less
people
than
that
B.
Hold
a
clothing
swap
C.
If
two

D.
Just

E.

F.

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇说明文。文章介绍了通过衣物交换来处理旧衣服的方法——衣物交换派对,以及一些具体的流程。
【16题详解】
根据上文“So
what
to
do
with
all
those
perfectly-
good-but-you
're-
maybe-little-sick-of-them
clothes
piled
on
your
bedroom
floor?(那么,该如何处理那些堆在卧室地板上的(看起来)完好但你可能有点厌倦的衣服呢?)”提出关于如何解决旧衣物的问题。下文“It's
the
best
way
to
get
rid
of
your
used
clothes,
score
clothes
from
your
friends,
and
have
a
party
all
at
the
same
time.(这是扔掉旧衣服、从朋友那里买衣服、同时开派对的最好方法。)”提到了具体处理旧衣物的方法。所以空白处应起承上启下的作用,承接上文讲到的问题,启下提出的方法。因而空白处是提出了一种处理旧衣物的好方法。B项“Hold
a
clothing
swap.(进行衣物交换。)”给出了一种处理旧衣物的方法,承上启下,符合语境。故选B项。
【17题详解】
根据上文“Invite
5-10
people
so
you
have
a
nice
selection.”(邀请5到10个人,这样你就有一个很好的选择。)说明了应该邀请的人数。下文“and
there
may
not
be
enough
things
to
choose
from;
more
than
that,
and
it
becomes
uncontrollable.”(可能没有足够的东西可供选择;多于这个数量,它就变得无法控制。)说明多于或少于一定数量的人数将会导致一些麻烦。所以空白处应是针对下文中的“more
than
that”提出的相反的假设,即少于一定数量的人。A项“Less
people
than
that”(少于这些人)提出一种假设,和下文中“more
than
that”相对,说明人数不宜太多,也不能太少,符合语境。故选A项。
【18题详解】
根据下文“They
should
also
prepare
plenty
of
reusable
bags
to
carry
their
“new”
clothes
home.”(他们还应该准备大量的可重复使用的袋子,把他们的“新”衣服带回家。)说明去的时候应该为交换所得的“新衣服”准备袋子。G项“Tell
everyone
to
bring
clean
clothes
in
good
condition.”(告诉每个人带来品相完好的衣服。)说明去参加衣物交换的时候应该带完好的衣服,其中的bring和下文中carry相对,都是为交换衣物所做的准备。下文中的also也是提示词,并且其中They指代G项的everyone。所以G项符合语境。故选G项。
【19题详解】
根据上文“Put
different
types
of
clothing
on
different
surfaces
in
the
room.”(把不同类型的衣服放在房间的不同地方。)指出衣服应该归类放置。下文“Place
a
few
mirrors
around
your
room
so
people
can
see
how
things
look
when
they
try
them
on.”(在房间周围放几面镜子,这样人们试穿时就能看到衣服的样子。)提到了放置镜子的意义。由此可见,本段讲述的是房间里的一些具体的做法,所以空白处一样要提出人们在房间里要做什么。F项“Have
everyone
put
their
clothes
in
the
right
spots.(让每个人的衣服都放在相应的位置上。)”说明每个人应该按照不同类型把衣服摆放在相应的位置,符合语境。故选F项。
【20题详解】
上文“Set
a
starting
time.
Maybe
you
say
“go,”
or
turn
on
a
certain
song,
or
whatever.”(设置开始时间。也许你说“开始”,或者打开一首歌,或者无论什么。)打开音乐或者无论什么,意味聚会开始。下文“And
don't
forget
to
put
out
some
cookies
and
fruits.
Remember,
it's
a
party!”(别忘了拿出一些饼干和水果。记住,这是个派对!)讲到了聚会上应该提供一些派对该有的服务。因而,空白处应是承接上文,讲述聚会期间要保持应有的内容。D项“Just
keep
music
playing
throughout.”(要始终播放音乐。)承上启下,说明在派对上要有音乐,与前文形成意义上的一致,符合题意,故选D项。

Around,
Comes
Around
One
day
a
man
saw
an
old
lady
standing
on
the
roadside.
Even
in
the
weak
light
of
day,
he
could
see
she
needed
help.
So
he
pulled
up
in
front
of
her
car
and
got
out.
Even
with
the
smile
on
his
face,
she
was
worried.
No
one
had
stopped
to
help
for
the
last
hour.
She
looked
poor
and
hungry.
He
could
see
that
she
was
frightened.
He
said,
“I’m
here
to
help
you,
madam.
Why
don’t
you
wait
in
the
car
where
it’s
warm?
By
the
way,
my
name
is
Bryan
Anderson.”
Well,
all
she
had
was
a
flat
tire,
but
for
an
old
lady,
that
was
bad
enough.
Bryan
went
under
the
car
looking
for
a
place
to
put
the
jack(千斤顶).
Soon
he
was
able
to
change
the
tire.
As
he
was
finishing,
she
rolled
down
the
window
and
told
him
that
she
couldn’t
thank
him
enough.
Then
she
asked
how
much
she
owed
him.
Bryan
just
smiled.
He

twice
about
being
paid.
This
was
helping
someone
in
need,
and
there
were
plenty,
who
had

him
a
hand
in
the
past.
He
had
lived
his
whole
life
that
way.
He
told
her
that
if
she
really
wanted
to
pay
him
back,
the
next
time
she
saw
someone
who
needed
help,
she
could
give
that
person
the
assistance
they
needed.
It
had
been
a
cold
and
depressing
day,
but
he
felt
good
as
he
headed
for
home.
A
few
miles
down
the
road
the
lady
saw
a
small
cafe.
She
went
in
to
grab
a
bite
to
eat,
and
warn
herself
up
before
making
the
last
leg
of
her
trip
home.
The
waitress
came
over
and
brought
a
clean
towel(毛巾)to
wipe
her
wet
hair.
She
had
a
sweet
smile,
though
she
had
been
on
her
feet
for
a
whole
day.
The
lady
noticed
she
was
nearly
eight
months
pregnant(怀孕的),
but
she
never
let
the
tension
and
aches
change
her
attitude.
The
lady
wondered
how
someone
who
had
so
little
could
be
so
giving
to
a
stranger.
Then
she
remembered
Bryan.

【分析】
本文以人物为线索展开,讲述了一位叫Bryan的男子在路上帮助一位无助的女士换好了她的汽车轮胎,并告诉她因为之前有人帮助过自己,所以现在他也帮助她,并希望这位女士也能将这份爱心传递下去。这位女士在路上进了一家咖啡馆吃饭,一位女服务生为她拿来干净的毛巾擦湿头发。女士注意到女服务生已经怀孕将近八个月,但是她的服务态度依然很好。这位女士想起了Bryan的话,于是给女服务生留下了五百美元,并给她留了字条,上面是Bryan说的同样的话。女服务生很高兴,晚上睡觉时,她亲吻了自己的丈夫Bryan。
【详解】1.段落续写:
①由第一段首句内容“这位女士吃完饭,付了一百美元。”可知,第一段可描写这位女士给女服务生留下了钱并告诉了她Bryan说的同样的话。
②由第二段首句内容“钞票下面还有四张100美元面值的钞票。”可知,第二段可描写女服务生感到很温暖和高兴,晚上回家睡觉时亲吻了自己的丈夫Bryan。
2.续写线索:找钱——离开——留言——工作——亲吻——巧合
