Dream
Chaser
in
a
Wheelchair
Since
the
age
of
three,
Chelsie
Hill
had
dreamed
of
becoming
a
dancer.
That
ambition
nearly
ended
in
2010
when
Hill
was
in
a
car
accident,
which
put
the
17-year-old
high
school
senior
in
hospital
for
51
days
and
left
her
paralyzed
(瘫痪的)
from
the
waist
down.
For
most
people,
that
would
have
destroyed
any
hope
of
a
dancing
career.
But
for
Hill,
it
was
the
beginning.
Far
from
being
a
barrier,
her
wheelchair
encouraged
her
to
fight.
“I
want
to
prove
to
everyone
including
myself
that
I'm
still
normal,
”she
said,
“whatever
normal
means.”
Normal
for
her
meant
dancing,
so
Hill
did
it
in
her
wheelchair
alongside
her
nondisabled
high
school
dance
team.
Half
of
her
body
was
taken
away
from
her,
so
she
had
to
move
it
with
her
hands.
It
took
much
learning
and
patience.
After
graduation
from
high
school,
Hill
wanted
to
expand
her
dance
network
to
include
women
like
her.
She
met
people
online
who
were
fighting
for
the
dream
of
dancing
against
various
spinal
(脊椎的)
injuries,
and
invited
them
to
dance
with
her.
To
reach
more
people
in
a
larger
city,
Hill
moved
to
Los
Angeles
in
2014
and
formed
a
team
of
dancers
with
disabilities
she
called
the
Rollettes.
Every
year
Hill
holds
a
dance
camp
called
the
Rollettes
Experience
for
wheelchair
users
to
help
them
bring
out
their
acting
talent.
In
2019,
173
participants
from
ten
countries
attended.For
many,
it
was
the
first
time
they'd
felt
they
belonged.
Edna
Serrano
said
that
being
part
of
the
Rollettes
team
gave
her
the
courage
to
get
behind
the
wheel
of
a
car.
“I
didn't
know
I
could
do
so
many
things
that
my
fellow
teammates
had
taught
me.”
she
said.
“I
didn't
know
I
could
be
sexy.
It's
so
powerful
to
have
my
teammates
in
my
life,
because
they're
my
teachers.
I
have
more
confidence.”
Chelsie
Hill
attained
what
many
of
us
never
will:
her
childhood
dream.
She
has
been
chasing
her
dream
in
the
wheelchair.
She's
a
dancer.
The
Rollettes
have
helped
her
find
something
else
just
as
fulfilling.
24.What
happened
to
Chelsie
Hill
in
2010?
A.
She
lost
her
hope
of
dancing.
B.
She
suffered
from
a
serious
disease.
C.
She
realized
her
dream
of
becoming
a
dancer.
D.
She
was
severely
disabled
due
to
a
car
accident.
25.
Why
did
Chelsie
Hill
set
up
the
Rollettes
in
2014?
A.
To
expand
her
social
network.
B.
To
her
dance
business.
C.To
seek
more
chances
to
dance.
D.
To
motivate
more
people
like
her.
26.

change
did
the
Rolleltes
Experience
bring
to
Edna
Serrano?

She
could
help
others.
B.

in
herself.
C.

D.She
became
sexier
than

27.
Which
of
the
following
words
can
best
describe
Chelsie
Hill?
A.Modest
and
professional.
B.Responsible
and
creative.
C.Determined
and
inspiring.
D.Cooperative
and
generous.
C
Anyone
wanting
to
help
the
poor
may
like
this
idea-recycling
aluminum
cans
in
a
different
way,
which
is
apparently
also
good
for
the
environment.
So
you're
actually
killing
two
birds
with
one
stone.
It
goes
without
saying
that
recycling
aluminum
cans
can
save
resources,
energy,
time
and
money.
People
usually
save
and
place
aluminum
cans
in
the
dustbins,
which
are
then
collected
and
taken
away
by
cleaners,
who
will
finally
recycle
them
in
the
recycling
center.
But
if
you
save
the
aluminum
cans,
and
skip
the
cleaners,
you
can
save
these
same
cans
for
something
more
important-helping
the
poor.
In
other
words,
by
doing
less,
you
are
giving
the
environmental
cause
some
new
significance.
Here
is
how
to
put
this
idea
into
action.
Take
your
aluminum
cans
and
place
them
in
a
plastic
bag.
For
the
dirty
ones,
wash
them
first.
Store
the
bag
of
clean
aluminum
cans.
Once
you
collect
about
one
hundred
cans
or
more,
take
the
cans
to
the
recycle
center
yourself.
There
are
about
eighteen
aluminum
cans
in
a
pound.
And
you
can
receive
three
to
four
dollars
for
one
hundred
cans.
Donate
your
three
to
four
dollars
to
the
poor
or
any
charity
organization
of
your
choice.
By
now,
you
may
wonder
if
your
few
dollars
have
really
made
a
difference
to
the
poor.
Consider
this:
Is
there
any
individual
or
any
specific
event
that
is
great
enough
to
change
the
world
or
decide
the
direction
that
history
takes?
The
answer
is
probably
no.
What
if
there
were
a
lot
of
people
who
would
do
the
same
thing?
History
shows
nothing
but
the
collective
will
of
the
whole
community.
And
that
will
surely
be
powerful
enough
to
make
a
bigger
difference.
Go
to
your
community
or
your
school
and
spread
your
idea.
Share
your
idea
and
save
your
aluminum
cans
with
other
people.
One
hundred
people
can
speak
louder
than
one.
And
the
money
you
make
by
saving
cans
can
be
multiplied
by
one
hundred
times.
And
if
more
people
join
in
the
cause
around
the
world,
an
even
larger
difference
can
be
made,
and
more
people
in
need
will
enjoy
the
benefits.
28.
What's
special
about
the
new
idea?
A.
It
makes
profits.
B.
It
saves
resources.
C.It
benefits
the
poor.
D.
It
involves
cleaners.
29.
What
can
we
infer
from
paragraph
2?
A.
Dirty
cans
do
not
sell
well.
B.You
decide
who
receives
the
money.
C.A
hundred
cans
weigh
about
3
pounds.
D.The
recycle
center
is
conveniently
located.
30.
What
does
the
underlined
word
“that”
in
paragraph
3
probably
refer
to?
A.
A
great
individual
or
event.
B.
The
direction
history
takes.
C.The
collective
will
of
people.
D.
The
neighbourhood
you
live
in.
31.
Which
of
the
following
does
the
writer
want
to
tell
us?
A.Many
hands
make
light
work.
B.Kill
two
birds
with
one
stone.
C.
Don't
put
the
cart
before
the
horse.
D.
No
man
can
do
two
things
at
once.
D
Can
we
forget
bad
memories?
Someone
might
tell
you
that
time
is
the
only
“cure”。
But
this
might
be
not
true.
Researchers
at
Canada's
McGill
University
have
tested
a
pill
that
can
help
you
forget
bad
memories.
They
tested
it
on
60
people
and
found
it
to
be
successful.
All
60
people
had
experienced
painful
romantic
relationships
and
wanted
to
forget
them.
In
the
study,
they
were
asked
to
write
about
these
bad
memories.
Then,
they
took
a
pill
that
is
usually
used
to
treat
high
blood
pressure.
They
then
recalled
their
bad
memories
by
reading
what
they
wrote
earlier.
In
the
end,
they
talked
about
their
feelings,
saying
that
they
were
finally
able
to
forget
their
bad
experiences.
Dr.
Alain
Brunet,
who
led
the
study,
believes
that
the
pill
can
ease
the
pain
that
bad
memories
bring.
People
can
take
it
after
bad
things
happen
to
them.
How
did
the
pill
do
this?
In
fact,
your
memories
change
all
the
time.
They're
like
text
files
on
your
computer.
Every
time
you
recall
and
“open”
the
files,
you
might
happen
to
make
some
changes
and
“save”
them.
Researchers
believe
that
the
pill
can
stop
proteins
in
the
brain
from“re-saving”
these
memories.
This
means
some
details
of
the
memory
are
lost.
However,there
are
some
ethical(伦理的)
worries
about
this
treatment.
Some
people
might
use
it
to
forget
things
that
they
should
be
learning
from,
such
as
when
they
committed
a
crime.
People
are
discussing
which
kinds
of
memories
should
be
forgotten
with
this
pill.
How
do
we
form
memories?
The
part
of
our
brain
known
as
the
hippocampus
(海马体)
is
important
for
forming
new
memories.
Scientists
found
it
after
studying
a
patient
named
Henry
Molaison
in
the
1950s.
After
Molaison's
hippocampus
got
hurt
during
an
operation,
he
couldn't
store
new
memories.
But
he
could
remember
memories
from
before
the
operation.
This
means
long-term
memories
are
stored
outside
the
hippocampus.Scientists
believe
they
are
stored
in
the
neocortex(新皮质),which
controls
attention
and
planning.
32.According
to
the
study,
what
can
the
pill
help
people
do?
A.
Recall
happy
memories.
B.Remember
things
more
easily.
C.
Control
their
blood
pressure.
D.Forget
bad
experiences.
33.

60
people
who
tested
the
pill
did
NOT
A.have
painful
experiences
B.
write
down
their
bad
memories
C.
have
high
blood
pressure
D.recall
what
they
wrote
down
before
34.What
is
paragraph
5
mainly
about?
A.
How
our
memories
change
over
time.
B.
How
the
pill
stops
bad
things
from
happening.
C.How
the
research
group
created
the
pill.
D.
How
the
pill
helps
us

can
we
learn
from
the
story?

pill
might
come
with
some
problems.
B.The
pill
can
stop
criminals
from
committing
crimes.
C.
The
writer
doesn't
think

your
mother
told
you
to
avoid
talking
to
strangers
?
But
now
you're
not
a
child
anymore.
In
fact,
there
are
many
advantages
of
talking
to
strangers.
·You
can
meet
a
really
great
person.
Talking
to
a
stranger
is
a
good
habit
because
you
never
know
whom
you
may
meet.
36
You
can
also
meet
someone
who
will
give
you
a
chance
to
get
your
dream
job.
·37
You
have
some
opinion
about
different
subjects
and
you
know
your
friends'
and
relatives'
points
of
view
about
them,
too.
But
there
are
millions
of
other
people
who
think
differently
and
can
give
you
unpredictable
yet
smart
ideas
that
will
broaden
your
horizons.
·You
can
improve
your
social
skills.
38
Asking
appropriate
questions
and
attentive
listening
are
two
skills
that
many
of
us
don't
have.
You
can
better
these
skills
when
talking
to
a
stranger.
·You
can
offer
someone
comfort.
The
thing
you'll
definitely
like
about
talking
to
strangers
is
that
you
can
make
someone's
day
better.39
Praise
people
and
they
will
think
something
pleasant
about
you.
Having
a
sweet
short
dialogue
is
one
of
those
perfect
chances
to
make
people
cheerful.
·You
can
find
the
solutions
you
didn't
know
about.
Talking
to
someone
you
don't
know
is
all
about
finding
out
something
you
didn't
know.
You
may
have
some
problems
that
you
can't
solve
for
a
long
time.However,someone
you
suddenly
meet
can
figure
out
the
right
solution
you
didn't
even
think
about
before.
40
A.
You
can
expand
your
world
view.
B.
Smile
and
people
will
smile
in
return.
C.
You
can
meet
a
person
who
will
become
your
best
friend
in
future.
D.
It
may
be
a
help
you
needed
to
get
a
long
time
ago.
E.
Why
not
speak
to
someone
until
your
turn
comes?
F.
You
shouldn't
miss
these
unexpected
chances
of
meeting
people.
G.Whatever
social
skills
you
have,
you
can
make
them
better
when
talking
to
strangers.

Moreover,
when

M:
We
all
know
that
exercise
is
good
for
us.
but
sometimes
it
seems
too
hard
to
leave
the
sofa.
W:
I
can
see
that.
You
seldom
do
exercise.
M:Plus,
having
the
doctor
tell
us
to
get
two
and
a
half
hours
of
exercise
a
week
doesn't
really
help
our
motivation
much.
W:Don't
be
discouraged.
Now,
a
new
study
suggests
getting
benefits
from
exercise
doesn't
have
to
be
that
demanding.
Jacob
Sattelmair,
from
Harvard
University,
has
done
a
study
into
how
much
exercise
is
needed
to
lower
the
risk
of
heart
attacks.
M:Hmm...interesting.
W:The
study
showed
that
people
who
put
in
300
minutes
a
week
of
exercise
had
a
20%
lower
risk
of
death
due
to
heart
disease.
Still,
the
people
who
exercise
150
minutes
a
week
did
pretty
well,
too,
lowering
their
death
risk
by
14
%.
M:And
what
about
the
people
who
exercise
half
as
much
as
that,
like
what
I
probably
do?
Does
that
help?
W:
Of
course,
Even
15
minutes
would
help.
