What
do
you
think
of
cats?
Some
people
think
very
lovely.
But
not
all
people
love
cats.
Compared
with
dogs,
cats
seem
to
be
very
lazy
and
unfriendly.
Besides,
cats
are
not
known
for
acts
of
selflessness
(无私).
But
maybe
we’re
wrong
about
them.
Don’t
believe
it?
Then
meet
Pippa,
a
very
unusual
cat.
The
black-and-white
cat
was
left
in
a
box
outside
a
shop
and
taken
by
the
British
RSPCA
to
the
Jansa
family
in
Whitstable,
Kent.
They
really
loved
her
character
(性格)
and
decided
to
adopt
(收养)
it,but
they
never
guessed
she’d
become
a
lifesaver.
Eight-year-old
Mia
Jansa
had
diabetes
and
had
become
good
at
testing
her
blood
during
the
day,
as
well
as
having
something
to
eat
or
drink
to
bring
her
blood
sugar
levels
back.
But
the
danger
was
at
night.
Mia
could
easily
experience
hypoglycemic
(低血糖症的)
situations
when
she
was
asleep,
which
could
cause
even
death.
Soon
after
she
was
adopted,
Pippa
went
into
Mia’s
bedroom
in
the
middle
of
the
night
and
woke
her
up.
When
the
child
tested
her
blood
sugar
levels,
she
found
they
were
dangerously
low.
Ever
since,
Pippa
always
visits
Mia
at
night.
If
she
can’t
get
her
to
wake
up,
she
raises
the
alarm.
“Pippa
does
this
of
her
own
accord,”
says
Mia’s
mother
Laura.
“We
don’t
make
a
request
for
caring
because
we
don’t
want
to
encourage
wrong
alarms.
She
gets
plenty
of
hugs.
It
gives
me
peace
of
mind
and
I
know
someone
else
is
keeping
an
eye
on
Mia.”
Now
the
family
is
so
happy
that
they’ve
chosen
to
adopt
it
in
the
first
place.
4.
Why
did
the
family
decide
to
adopt
the
cat?
A.
Because
they
considered
it
as
a
lifesaver.
B
Because
her
character
interested
them.
C.
Because
they
really
loved
her
looks.
D.
Because
Mia
Jansa
needed
help.
5.
What
problem
did
Mia
Jansa
face?
A.
She
was
bad
at
testing
her
blood.
B.
She
might
suffer
death
in
the
daytime.
C.
She
might
be
in
danger
while
asleep
at
night.
D.
She
couldn’t
let
her
blood
sugar
levels
return
to
normal.
6.
For
what
does
Pippa
visit
Mia
at
night?
A.
To
see
if
her
blood
sugar
levels
are
normal.
B.
To
make
her
laugh
when
she’s
lonely.
C.
To
make
sure
that
she
is
safe.
D.
To
play
with
the
alarm.
7.
What
does
the
underlined
sentence
in
Paragraph
5
mean?
A.
Pippa
does
that
according
to
her
own
habits.
B.
Pippa
does
that
without
being
asked.
C
Pippa
does
that
for
her
own
good.
D.
Pippa
does
that
without
a
purpose.
C
The
biggest
and
the
smallest
of
the
world’s
animals
are
most
at
risk
of
dying
out,
according
to
a
new
analysis,
with
vertebrates
(脊椎动物)
in
the
so-called
“Goldilocks
zone”—not
too
big
and
not
too
small—winning
out.
Action
is
needed
to
protect
animals
at
both
ends
of
the
scale,
they
say.
The
research
adds
to
evidence
that
animals
are
dying
out
on
such
a
scale
that
a
sixth
extinction
is
considered
under
way.
One
clue
is
body
size.
Research
on
birds
and
mammals
has
shown
that
those
with
larger
bodies
are
more
likely
to
go
extinct.
Yet,
when
the
researchers
made
a
database
of
thousands
of
birds,
mammals,
fish,
amphibians
(两栖动物)
and
reptiles
(爬行动物)
at
risk
of
extinction,
they
found
disproportionate
(不成比例的)
losses
at
the
large
and
small
ends
of
the
scale.
“Surprisingly,
we
found
that
not
only
the
largest
of
all
vertebrate
animal
species
are
most
threatened,
but
the
very
tiniest
ones
are
also
highly
threatened
with
extinction,”
Prof.
Ripple
told
BBC
News.
Large
animals,
such
as
elephants,
rhinos
(犀牛)
and
lions
have
long
been
the
target
of
protection
efforts.
However,
fish,
birds,
reptiles
and
amphibians
that
are
the
giants
of
their
kind,
such
as
the
whale
shark,
Somali
ostrich
(鸵鸟)
and
the
Chinese
giant
salamander
(蝾螈),
tend
to
be
overlooked.
Meanwhile,
small
species
at
risk--such
as
frogs
and
shrews
(鼩鼱)--receive
very
little
attention.
“I
think,
for
the
smallest
species,
first
of
all
we
need
to
bring
higher
awareness
to
them,
because
the
larger
ones
get
a
lot
of
attention,
but
the
smaller
ones
get
very
little,”
said
Prof.
Ripple.
In
the
study,
vertebrates
with
the
smallest
and
the
largest
bodies
were
found
to
be
most
at
risk
of
disappearing,
whether
they
were
on
land
or
living
in
oceans,
streams
or
rivers.
Heavyweights
are
threatened
mainly
by
hunting,
while
featherweights
are
losing
out
to
pollution
and
cutting
down
forests.
“Ultimately,
reducing
global
consumption
of
wild
meat
is
a
key
step
to
reduce
negative
impacts
of
hunting,
fishing,
and
trapping
on
the
world’s
vertebrates,”
they
write
in
Proceedings
of
the
National
Academy
of
Sciences.
8.
What
made
the
researchers
feel
surprised?
A.
A
sixth
of
animals
are
dying
out.
B.
Small
animals
are
in
great
danger.
C.
Great
losses
of
birds
and
mammals.
D.
Big
animals
are
at
risk
of
disappearing.
9.
What
should
we
do
first
for
the
smallest
species
according
to
Prof.
Ripple?
A.
Transform
our
habits.
B.
Change
our
concepts.
C.
Find
ways
to
save
small
animals.
D.
Take
measures
to
stop
pollution.
10.
What
presents
the
great
threat
to
vertebrates
according
to
the
last
paragraph?
A.
Loss
of
forests.
B.
Climate
change.
C.
Human
activities.
D.
Environmental
pollution.
11.
What
would
be
the
best
title
for
the
passage?
A.
Size
Matters
When
It
Comes
to
Extinction
Risk
B.
Large
Animals
Are
Badly
in
Need
of
Protection
C.
Why

Recovering
strength
and
movement
after
an
injury
often
involves
physical
therapy(治疗).Physical
therapists
help
patients
with
brain
or
bone
injuries
regain
control
of
their
muscles.
Exercising
muscles
plays
an
important
part
in
the
rehabilitation(康复)process.
Therapists
use
balls
and
boards
to
improve
balance,
tretchy
bands
to
increase
strength
and
other
exercise.
But
a
Polish
technology
company
Egzotech
has
developed
a
robot
called
Luna,
to
make
exercise
interactive.
Luna
can
help
therapists
choose
the
best
exercise
for
their
patients.The
robot
also
provides
therapists
with
information
about
their
patients'
progress.
Luna
uses
electromyography,
or
EMG,
to
identify
electrical
currents
as
patients
bend
their
arms
or
legs.Michal
Mikulski
is
the
chief
executive
officer
of
Egzotech.He
says
detecting
muscle
tension
not
immediately
visible
to
the
human
eye
can
help
therapists
design
better
exercise.
“We
reach
a
certain
stage
of
disease
development
when
the
muscle
tension
is
not
even
visible.
But
these
signals
can
still
be
seen
on
our
machines
.Luna
is
still
able
to
detect
them.
And
based
on
that,when
the
brain
sends
a
signal
to
the
muscle
to
flex
even
though
we
don't
see
it,
Luna
is
still
able
to
detect
it.
It
detects
these
signals
and
causes
the
movement
of
the
limb(肢),as
if
it
were
performed
naturally."
Luna
can
also
make
therapy
fun
for
children
who
often
get
bored
with
repeated
movements.
Luna
permits
them
to
play
games
without
knowing
that
they
are
exercising
their
muscles.
“Sometimes
it
is
a
spacecraft,
sometimes
shooting
balls,
sometimes
flying
a
dragon.
In
any
case,
a
child
wants
to
win
a
game,
wants
to
compete,
but
in
fact
they
are
exercising."
Luna
is
just
a
protorype(原型).But
Egzotech
expects
to
have
other
robots
ready
for
sale
later
this
year.

How
to
teach
kids
responsibility
We'd
all
like
our
kids
to
develop
into
responsible
people.
How
can
we
help
to
ensure
that
our
kids
learn
the
lessons
of
responsibility?
Here
are
some
ideas:
Start
them
with
tasks
when
they're
young.
___16___
They
can
do
a
lot
more
than
you
think
if
you're
patient
and
creative.
Encourage
them
to
begin
at
an
early
age,
and
this
helps
them
build
confidence
and
enthusiasm
for
later
tasks
in
their
life.
Don't
use
rewards
with
your
kids.
If
you
want
your
kids
to
develop
a
natural
sense
of
responsibility,
they
need
to
learn
what
they
do
affects
others
not
just
themselves.
___17___
Use
natural
consequences
when
they
make
mistakes.
If
they
keep
losing
their
baseball
glove
somewhere,
let
them
deal
with
the
consequences.
Maybe
they
have
to
ask

One
morning
my
family
and
I
woke
up
and
went
to
eat
breakfast——until
we
heard
barking
and
scratching
at
the
door.
When
my
mom
opened
the
door,
we
saw
a
puppy(小狗).
We
looked
around
to
see
if
we
saw
its
owner,
but
there
was
no
one.
We
took
it
inside
and
fed
it.
Regardless
of
how
badly
I
wanted
to
keep
the
puppy,
we
decided
to
look
for
the
owner.
We
looked
all
day,
but
we
failed.
We
talked
about
whether
we
should
keep
looking
or
if
we
should
look
the
next
day.
We
all
agreed
to
look
for
its
owner
the
next
day.
So,
the
next
day
my
family
and
I
looked
for
the
dog's
owner.
It
was
so
hard
looking
for
its
owner.
We

We

“We

looking,”
my
mom
and
dad
said.
We
were
going
to
take
care
of
the
puppy
until
we
found
its
owner.
When
we
woke

some

the

bought.
After
we
fed
the
puppy,
we
gave
it
a
nice
bath.
It
was
so
dirty
that
the
fur
was
black
and
sticky,
but
after
we
gave
it
a
bath,
it
turned
white.And
I
noticed
there
was
a
collar
(狗项圈)on
him,
which
said
“Coby”.
After
we
gave
him
a
bath,
we
went
to
look
for
the
p
uppy's
owner,
but
my
mom
stayed
at
home,
and
it
was
only
my
dad
and
me
this
time.
We
continued
looking
more
and
more
until
we
found
flyers.
“We
looked
at
it.”it
said.
“Lost
Dog:
Please
Help
if
Found.”
Then
we
looked
at

looked
exactly

What
do
you
think
of
cats?
Some
people
think
very
lovely.
But
not
all
people
love
cats.
Compared
with
dogs,
cats
seem
to
be
very
lazy
and
unfriendly.
Besides,
cats
are
not
known
for
acts
of
selflessness
(无私).
But
maybe
we’re
wrong
about
them.
Don’t
believe
it?
Then
meet
Pippa,
a
very
unusual
cat.
The
black-and-white
cat
was
left
in
a
box
outside
a
shop
and
taken
by
the
British
RSPCA
to
the
Jansa
family
in
Whitstable,
Kent.
They
really
loved
her
character
(性格)
and
decided
to
adopt
(收养)
it,but
they
never
guessed
she’d
become
a
lifesaver.
Eight-year-old
Mia
Jansa
had
diabetes
and
had
become
good
at
testing
her
blood
during
the
day,
as
well
as
having
something
to
eat
or
drink
to
bring
her
blood
sugar
levels
back.
But
the
danger
was
at
night.
Mia
could
easily
experience
hypoglycemic
(低血糖症的)
situations
when
she
was
asleep,
which
could
cause
even
death.
Soon
after
she
was
adopted,
Pippa
went
into
Mia’s
bedroom
in
the
middle
of
the
night
and
woke
her
up.
When
the
child
tested
her
blood
sugar
levels,
she
found
they
were
dangerously
low.
Ever
since,
Pippa
always

【答案】4.
B
5.
C
6.
C
7.
B
【解析】
【分析】这是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了Mia一家收养的小猫pippa为了报答知遇之恩,晚上一直提醒有低血糖病的Mia,在有危险的晚上去测量血糖,监视她,以确保她的安全。
【4题详解】
细节理解题。根据第二段“They
really
loved
her
character
(性格)
and
decided
to
adopt
(收养)
it,”(他们很喜欢她的性格并决定收养它)。由此可知,这家人为什么决定收养这只猫是因为因为她的性格让他们感兴趣。故选B项。
【5题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段的最后一句“But
the
danger
was
at
night.
Mia
could
easily
experience
hypoglycemic
(低血糖症的)
situations
when
she
was
asleep,
which
could
cause
even
death.”
(危险是在晚上。Mia睡着了,她很容易经历低血糖症的情况
,这甚至会导致死亡。)分可知当晚上睡着了她就会出现低血糖,而且会导致死亡,由此可推断出晚上睡着了很危险,故选C。
【6题详解】
推理判断题。根据第三段可知Mia有糖尿病,晚上会有低血糖,这时如果睡着了就会死亡。根据第四段“Ever
since,
Pippa
always
visits
Mia
at
night.
If
she
can’t
get
her
to
wake
up,
she
raises
the
alarm.”(从那以后,皮帕总是在晚上去看米娅。如果她不能让她醒过来,她就会拉响警报。)由此判断出晚上Pippa每天晚上就去看Mia,把她叫醒让她测试血糖,以确保她是安全的。故选C。
【7题详解】
词句猜测题,根据下文Mia的妈妈所说的话“We
don’t
make
a
request
for
caring”我们没有要求得到关心照顾…。所以Pippa
does
this
of
her
own
accord,本句的意思为“Pippa”这样做完全是出于自愿。由此可判断出是pippa是自愿的,没有人对它有任何要求,故选B。

Large

such
as

the

However,
fish,

such
as
the
whale

Somali
ostrich
(鸵鸟)

the

tend
to
be
overlooked.
Meanwhile,
small
species
at
risk--such
as
frogs
and
shrews
(鼩鼱)--receive
very
little
attention.
“I
think,
for
the
smallest

first

all
we

higher
awareness
to
them,
because
the
larger
ones
get
a

of
attention,

little,”
said
Prof.

In
the

vertebrates

were
found
to
be
most

Heavyweights

featherweights

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇新闻报道。一项研究发现,体型最大和最小的动物对比中等体型的动物面临着更大的灭绝风险。大型动物的危险主要来自人类的捕杀,小型动物灭绝的主要原因是污染和森林砍伐。
【8题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段““Surprisingly,

【9题详解】
推理判断题。根据倒数第三段““I

into
responsible
people.
How
can
we
help
to
ensure
that
our

learn
the
lessons
of
responsibility?
Here
are
some
ideas:
Start
them
with
tasks
when
they're
young.
___16___
They
can
do
a
lot
more
than
you
think
if
you're
patient
and
creative.
Encourage
them
to
begin
at
an
early
age,
and
this
helps
them
build
confidence
and
enthusiasm
for
later
tasks
in
their
life.
Don't
use
rewards
with
your
kids.
If
you
want
your
kids
to
develop
a
natural
sense
of
responsibility,
they
need
to
learn
what
they
do
affects
others
not
just
themselves.
___17___
Use
natural
consequences
when
they
make
mistakes.
If
they
keep
losing
their
baseball
glove
somewhere,
let
them
deal
with
the
consequences.
Maybe
they
have
to
ask
to
borrow
one
for
the
game.
___18___
If
you
rescue
them
every
time
they
make
a
mistake,
they'll
never
learn
responsibility.
___19___
This
is
where
they'll
learn
it
from.
Take
care
of
your
stuff.
Try
to
be
on
time.
They're
watching
you
very
closely.
Give
them
an
allowance(零用钱)
early
in
their
life.
Let
them
make
their
own
money
decisions
from
an
early
age.
They'll
learn
their
lessons
in
a
hurry.
___20___
A.
Model
responsible
behavior
for
your
kids.
B.
Maybe
they
have
to
buy
a
new
one
if
it's
lost.
C.
Don't
help
them
out
if
they
run
out
of
money.
D.
Train
your
kids
to
be
responsible
and
careful.
E.
They
won't
learn
that
if
they're
focused
on
what
they're
going
to
“get”.
F.
Young
kids
have
a
strong
desire
to
help
out,
even
as
young
as
age
two.
G.
They'll
pick
up
on
this
belief
and
they'll

【17题详解】
根据上文“如果你想让你的孩子培养出一种天生的责任感,他们需要了解到他们所做的不仅仅在影响他们自己也在影响别人”。可知选项与上一句为并列句来说明一种否定的情况。故E选项“如果他们把注意力集中在他们想得到的东西上,他们是不会学会的”。
切题。故选E。
【18题详解】
根据上文“为了比赛也许他们不得不要求借一副”。所以选项与上一句为并列关系。故B选项“如果他们丢了,还有可能去买一副”。切题。故选B项。
【19题详解】
根据下文:这是他们要学习的地方。照顾好你的东西。尽量地按时。他们在密切关注着你。可知在言行举止上要为孩子树立榜样。所以选项为本段的标题。故A项“为孩子树立负责任的榜样”切题。故选A。
【20题详解】
根据上文“让他们从小就自己做理财决定。他们很快就会学”。可知选项承接上文,故C项“当他们用完钱的时候,不要帮助他们摆脱困境”切题。故选C项。

【解析】
【分析】本文是一篇说明文。介绍了中国唐代诗人杜甫。
【36题详解】
考查副词。句意:和李白一起,杜甫经常被称作中国最伟大的诗人。这里需要一个副词修饰动词called,所以frequent变成副词形式frequently。故填frequently。
【37题详解】
考查非谓语动词。句意:
出生在学术家庭,杜甫接受了传统的儒家教育,但是在753年的科举考试中失利。这里前半句缺少主语,主句是逗号后的部分,该部分为过去分词作状语,用过去分词表示被动。故填born。
【38题详解】
考查形容词。句意:出生在学术家庭,杜甫接受了传统的儒家教育,但是在753年的科举考试中失利。传统的后面是名词短语“儒家教育”,所以此处用形容词传统的修饰儒家教育。故填traditional。
【39题详解】
考查时态。这里故事背景发生在杜甫那个时代,是过去发生的,也可以根据前后文都是用一般过去时,所以这里spend也需要用一般过去时。故填spent。
【40题详解】
考查介词。句意:在他的旅行中,杜甫被认出是一个诗人,同样也遇到了同时期的其他诗人,包括李白。这里后面接名词短语,所以需要填介词。故填including。
【41题详解】
考查名词。前面是冠词和形容词,后面应该加名词词性,所以这里admire变成名词admiration。故填admiration。
【42题详解】
考查非限制性定语从句。分析句子可知,句中先行词为Liren
xing
,指物,在从句中作主语,故用关系代词which。故填which。
【43题详解】
考查冠词。这里the
period
of
表示特指一段时期,特指755年至759年,所以用定冠词the。故填the。
【44题详解】
考查一般现在时。本句话的主语是Du
Fu's
irreplaceable
position,中心词是名词position,这里是可数名词单数作主语,谓语动词应该用三单形式,文本是介绍杜甫在中国文学史上的地位,因此应用一般现在时,所以不需要用过去时。故填rests。
【45题详解】
考查介词。句意:他是所有诗歌体裁的专家,
这里是固定搭配an
expert
in/at/on…
,表示表示“是某方面的专家”。故填in/at/on。
【点睛】本篇语法点考查的比较简单,从句部分考到了非限制性定语从句,定语从句关键抓住两点:第一、找准先行词;第二、看先行词在定语从句中所作的成分。先行词往往为名词或代词,如第7题中先行词为名词Liren
xing,再分析先行词Liren
xing在定语从句中所作的成分,将先行词Liren
xing带到从句中可知,作主语,这里非限制性定语从句不能用that,
故确定关系词which。
