you
find
a

Wight
(IOW).
The
Isle

Wight
is
one
of
the
main
tourist
attractions.
Here
is
some
information
on
a
few
of
the
attractions
on
the
IOW.
Dinosaur
Isle
It
is
located
in
Sandown,
a
seaside
town
on
the
southeast
coast.
It's
a
large,
lovely
museum,
both
fun
and
educational.
Here
you
can
see
a
large
fossil
collection
of
all
kinds
of
dinosaurs,
as
well
as
a
gift
shop.
You
can
walk
into
the
past
and
then
the
future,
learning
about
the
history
and
the
development
of
the
civilization
of
dinosaurs
that
lived
120
million
years
ago.
Robin
Hill
Country
Park
The
park
is
in

and
offers
great
opportunities
to
see
and
take
pictures
of
the
rare
red
squirrels.
The
West
of
the
Wight
Here
we
have
the
Marine
Aquarium,
the
Archaeology
Exhibition
and
the
Model
Railway.
They
offer
another
opportunity
to
combine
fun
with
learning.
This
is
a
great
place
to
see
ancient
boats
crossing
the
narrow
strait
between
the
island
and
the
mainland.
The
Wight
Bus
Museum
This
museum
is
run
completely
by
unpaid
volunteers.
It
has
a
bus
collection
stored
in
what
was
once
a
warehouse
(仓库).
Most
of
the
buses
in
the
museum
date
back
to
around
the

Yesterday,
I
met
a
delightful
woman
at
a
work
event.
As
we
talked,
she
talked
about
her
childhood
in
Manila,
Philippines.
She
spoke
about
the
way
her
culture
values
their
elders,
and
she
explained
that
children
are
educated
from
the
time
of
birth
to
honor
and
respect
people
older
than
themselves.
It
was
refreshing
to
hear
that,
and
I
enjoyed
listening
and
learning.
Here
is
the
memory
she
shared
that
I
found
so
beautiful:
When
she
was
growing
up,
her
father
had
three
jobs
to
take
care
of
his
family.
She
said
her
dad
never
complained,
and
though
he
worked
very
hard,
he
always
had
time
for
them.
One
day,
her
father
was
injured
at
his
full-time
job.
For
several
months,
he
was
mailed
temporary
(暂时)
disability
checks
while
he
recovered.
When
her
father
was
able
to
return
to
his
full-time
job,
he
took
all
those
disability
checks
that
were
sent
to
him
while
he
was
recovering
and
handed
them
back
to
the
company.
He
told
them
that
he
had
good
legs
and
arms,
and
did
not
need
this
money.
He
told
them
to
give
the
money
to
people
who
could
not
work,
to
people
who
really
needed
it.
The
woman
telling
the
story
was
a
little
girl
at
that
time.
She
had
accompanied
her
father
that
very
day
when
he
went
back
to
his
company
with
all
those
unopened
checks.
“My
father
is
my
hero,”
she
said.
Lowering
her
voice,
she
said
she
would
never
forget
what
he
did,
and
what
an
inspiration
and
influential
mentor
(良师益友)
he
was
on
how
to
live
life.
From
my
communication
with
her,
it
was
very
obvious
that
her
father’s
same
sweet
spirit
had
been
passed
down
to
this
woman,
and
to
her
family.
Hearing
this
story
was
so
refreshing
to
my
soul.
I
hope
it
is
the
same
to
you
too.
4.

the
woman
was
talking
about
her
childhood,
the
writer
was

A.
sad
and
moved
B.

and
angry
C.
annoyed
and
disappointed
D.
interested
and
joyful
5.
The
woman’s
father
took
the
temporary
disability
checks
back
to
his
company
because
________.
A
he
felt
he
was
looked
down
upon
B.
he
wasn’t
satisfied
with
the
amount
C.
he
thought
others
needed
them
more
than
him
D.

didn’t
know
how
hard
life
was.
B.
The
woman
missed
her
father
very
much.
C.
The
woman’s
father
influenced
her
in
a
good
way.
D.
The
woman
didn’t
think
her
father
made
the
right
decision.
7.
By
writing
the
story,
the
writer
________.
A.
tries

from
our
parents
B.
hopes
we
can
get
encouraged
by
good
deeds
C.
shows
respect
for
real
heroes
in
our
lives
D.
wants
to
ask
us
to
value
our
family
C
There
are
many
interesting
science
experiments
out
there
for
young
kids.
You
can
surprise
your
friends
and
teachers
with
them.
All
you
have
to
do
is
to
put
a
little
effort
into
it
and
you
should
have
no
problem
coming
up
with
an
interesting
science
experiment.
One
such
experiment
is
to
show
your
friends
and
teachers
that
you
can
make
mothballs
(樟脑丸)
dance!
If
you
want
to
do
it,
first,
be
sure
that
you
have
got
all
the
necessary
science
kits(工具箱)
for
your
science
experiment.
What
you
need
for
this
experiment
is
a
glass
filled
half
full
with
water.
Add
a
little
bit
of
vinegar
to
your
glass
of
water,
about
1/3
or
1/4
of
a
cup
(60
ml),
and
one
teaspoon
(10
ml)
of
baking
soda,
and
then
carefully
stir
the
mixture.
Drop
a
few
mothballs
into
the
glass
and
have
your
audience
watch.
As
long
as
the
surfaces
of
the
mothballs
become
fairly
rough,
they
should
begin
to
bounce(弹起)
up
and
down
in
the
glass.
You
can
also
do
a
similar
experiment
with
raisins
(葡萄干)
and
clear
pop,
such
as
Sprite.
In
this
experiment,
all
you
have
to
do
is
to
fill
a
glass
with
Sprite
and
drop
a
few
raisins
into
it.
The
raisins
should
begin
to
bounce
up
and
down
in
the
glass
of
Sprite.
You
can
also
replace
the
raisins
with
mothballs
and
you
should
get
the
same
effect
in
the
Sprite.
This
project
works
because
the
irregular
surfaces
of
the
mothballs
and
the
raisins
hold
some
C02
bubbles
(气泡)
,causing
them
to
bounce
up
and
down
in
a
dancing
motion.
8.
The
writer
writes
this
passage
to
________.
A.
explain
why
some
science
experiments
are
easy
B.
encourage
people
to
spend
more
time
on
science
C.
tell
us
how
good
he
is
at
doing
science
experiments
D.
teach
kids
how
to
do
an
easy
and
interesting
science
experiment
9.
What
is
the
most
probable
name
of
the
experiment?
A.
Producing
mothballs.
B.
Dancing
mothballs.
C.
Changing
mothballs.
D.
Swimming
mothballs.
10.
The
underlined
word
"pop"
in
Paragraph
4
probably
refers
to
a
________.
A.
mothball
B.
kind
of
vinegar
C.
drink
with
bubbles
D.
special
kind
of
raisin
11.
From
the
last
paragraph
we
can
know
________.
A.
why
Sprite
has
some
C02
bubbles
B.
what
people
usually
use
Sprite
for
C.
what
scientists
usually
do
with
raisins
D.
why
the
mothballs
bounce
up
and
down
D
We’ve
all
been
there:
in
a
lift
in
line
at
the
bank
or
on
an
airplane,
surrounded
by
people
who
are,
like
us,
deeply
focused
on
their
smartphones
or,
worse,
struggling
with
the
uncomfortable
silence.
What’s
the
problem?
It’s
possible
that
we
all
have
compromised
conversational
intelligence.
It’s
more
likely
that
none
of
us
start
a
conversation
because
it’s
awkward
and
challenging,
or
we
think
it’s
annoying
and
unnecessary.
But
the
next
time
you
find
yourself
among
strangers,
consider
that
small
talk
is
worth
the
trouble.
Experts
say
it’s
an
invaluable
social
practice
that
results
in
big
benefits.
Dismissing
small
talk
as
unimportant
is
easy,
but
we
can’t
forget
that
deep
relationships
wouldn’t
even
exist
if
it
weren’t
for
casual
conversation.
Small
talk
is
the
grease(润滑剂)
for
social
communication,
says
Bernardo
Carducci,
director
of
the
Shyness
Research
Institute
at
Indiana
University
Southeast.
"Almost
every
great
love
story
and
each
big
business
deal
begins
with
small
talk,"
he
explains.
"The
key
to
successful
small
talk
is
learning
how
to
connect
with
others,
not
just
communicate
with
them."
In
a
2014
study,
Elizabeth
Dunn,
associate
professor
of
psychology
at
UBC,
invited
people
on
their
way
into
a
coffee
shop.
One
group
was
asked
to
seek
out
an
interaction(互动)
with
its
waiter;
the
other,
to
speak
only
when
necessary.
The
results
showed
that
those
who
chatted
with
their
server
reported
significantly
higher
positive
feelings
and
a
better
coffee
shop
experience.
"It’s
not
that
talking
to
the
waiter
is
better
than
talking
to
your
husband,"
says
Dunn.
"But
interactions
with
peripheral(边缘的)
members
of
our
social
network
matter
for
our
well-being
also."
Dunn
believes
that
people
who
reach
out
to
strangers
feel
a
significantly
greater
sense
of
belonging,
a
bond
with
others.
Carducci
believes
developing
such
a
sense
of
belonging
starts
with
small
talk.
"Small
talk
is
the
basis
of
good
manners,"
he
says.
12.
What
phenomenon
is
described
in
the
first
paragraph?
A.
Addiction
to
smartphones.
B.
Inappropriate
behaviours
in
public
places.
C.
Absence
of
communication
between
strangers.
D.
Impatience
with
slow
service.
13.
What
is
important
for
successful
small
talk
according
to
Carducci?
A.
Showing
good
manners.
B.
Relating
to
other
people.
C.
Focusing
on
a
topic.
D.
Making
business
deals.
14.
What
does
the
coffee-shop
study
suggest
about
small
talk?
A.
It
improves
family
relationships.
B.
It
raises
people’s
confidence.
C.
It
matters
as
much
as
a
formal
talk.
D.
It
makes
people
feel
good.
15.
What
is
the
best
title
for
the
text?
A.
Conversation
Counts
B.
Ways
of
Making
Small
Talk
C.
Benefits
of
Small
Talk
D.
Uncomfortable
Silence

How
to
Grow
Plants
in
the
Classroom
Growing
plants
in
the
classroom
is
an
excellent
way
to
get
students
excited
about
science!
Start
with
seeds(种子)in
the
classroom.
____16____
They
can
do
this
by
putting
seeds
or
beans
in
wet
paper
towels
and
then
in
a
clear
plastic
bag.
The
seeds
should
begin
coming
out
in
a
few
days,
which
can
give
the
students
an
idea
of
what
is
happening
underground
when
plants
begin
to
grow.
Continue
with
seeds
in
the
classroom.
At
the
same
time
as
the
seeds
are
beginning
to
come
out,
plant
the
same
type
of
seeds
in
soil.
____17____
They
can
also
predict(预测)how
long
it
will
be
before
the
seeds
come
out
and
are
seen
above
the
soil.
___18___
A
quick
Internet
search
should
let
you
know
which
plants
are
native
to
your
area.
This
can
connect
the
plant-growing
in
the
classroom
with
natural
history
and
other
social
studies
lessons.
Also,
after
growing
the
plants
in
your
classroom,
you
can
take
the
students
on
field
trips
to
see
where
the
plants
grow
naturally.
Explore
the
needs
of
plants.
____19____
You
can
know
what
they
actually
need
by
growing
plants
in
the
classroom
and
making
observations
along
the
way.
In
all,
growing
plants
in
the
classroom
is
sure
to
be
an
exciting
science
lesson.
____20____
They
can
train
their
creativity
with
their
own
gardens!
A.
What
do
plants
need
to
stay
alive?
B.
Grow
native
plants
in
your
classroom.
C.
Try
to
start
an
outdoor
garden
in
your
school.
D.
Carrots
and
tomatoes
can
be
grown
easily.
E.
Students
of
all
ages
learn
more
knowledge
from
growing
things.
F.
Students
can
learn
about
what
exactly
is
happening
under
the
soil.
G.
For
very
young
children,
it
is
exciting
just
to
see
the
seeds
come
out.

Yesterday,
I
met
a
delightful
woman
at
a
work
event.
As
we
talked,
she
talked
about
her
childhood
in
Manila,
Philippines.
She
spoke
about
the
way
her
culture
values
their
elders,
and
she
explained
that
children
are
educated
from
the
time
of
birth
to
honor
and
respect
people
older
than
themselves.
It
was
refreshing
to
hear
that,
and
I
enjoyed
listening
and
learning.
Here
is
the
memory
she
shared
that
I
found
so
beautiful:
When
she
was
growing
up,
her
father
had
three
jobs
to
take
care
of
his
family.
She
said
her
dad
never
complained,
and
though
he
worked
very
hard,
he
always
had
time
for
them.
One
day,
her
father
was
injured
at
his
full-time
job.
For
several
months,
he
was
mailed
temporary
(暂时的)
disability
checks
while
he
recovered.
When
her
father
was
able
to
return
to
his
full-time
job
he
took
all
those
disability
checks
that
were
sent
to
him
while
he
was
recovering
and
handed
them
back
to
the
company.
He
told
them
that
he
had
good
legs
and
arms,
and
did
not
need
this
money.
He
told
them
to
give
the
money
to
people
who
could
not
work,
to
people
who
really
needed
it.
The
woman
telling
the
story
was
a
little
girl
at
that
time.
She
had
accompanied
her
father
that
very
day
when
he
went
back
to
his
company
with
all
those
unopened
checks.
“My
father
is
my
hero,”
she
said.
Lowering
her
voice,
she
said
she
would
never
forget
what
he
did,
and
what
an
inspiration
and
influential
mentor
(良师益友)
he
was
on
how
to
live
life.
From
my
communication
with
her,
it
was
very
obvious
that
her
father’s
same
sweet
spirit
had
been
passed
down
to
this
woman,
and
to
her
family.
Hearing
this
story
was
so
refreshing
to
my
soul.
I
hope
it
is
the
same
to
you
too.

Sprite.
In
this

Sprite
and
drop

raisins
into
it.
The

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇说明文。主要向我们介绍怎么做一个简单而又有趣的科学实验。
【8题详解】
推理判断题。根据第一段中“There
are
many
interesting
science
experiments
out
there
for
young
kids.”(有许多适合小孩子的有趣的科学实验)以及“One
such
experiment
is
to
show
your
friends
and
teachers
that
you
can
make
mothballs
(樟脑丸)
dance!”(一个可以向你的朋友和老师展示的实验就是你可以让樟脑丸跳舞),再根据文章接下来的段落就是具体介绍了这个实验,可知,文章的目的是教小孩子怎么做一个简单而又有趣的科学实验,故选D。
【9题详解】
推理判断题。根据第一段的“One
such
experiment
is
to
show
your
friends
and
teachers
that
you
can
make
mothballs
(樟脑丸)
dance!”(一个可以向你的朋友和老师展示的实验就是你可以让樟脑丸跳舞)可知,实验室关于樟脑丸的,然后在过程中上下弹跳,“跳舞的樟脑丸”是这个实验最可能的名字,故选B。
【10题详解】
词句猜测题。根据第四段中“You
can
also
do
a
similar
experiment
with
raisins
(葡萄干)
and
clear
pop,
such
as
Sprite.”
(你也可以用葡萄干和pop做类似的实验,比如雪碧。)可知,pop指的是类似雪碧的液体,也就是含有气泡的饮料,故选C。
【11题详解】
细节理解题。根据最后一段中“This
project
works
because
the
irregular
surfaces
of
the
mothballs
and
the
raisins
hold
some
C02
bubbles
(气泡)
,
causing
them
to
bounce
up
and
down
in
a
dancing
motion.
”(这个实验之所以成功,是因为樟脑球和葡萄干的不规则表面含有一些二氧化碳气泡,使它们以舞蹈的动作上下跳动)
可知,从最后一段我们可以得知樟脑丸为什么会上下跳动,故选D。
D
We’ve
all
been
there:
in
a
lift,
in
line
at
the
bank
or
on
an
airplane,
surrounded
by
people
who
are,
like
us,
deeply
focused
on
their
smartphones
or,
worse,
struggling
with
the
uncomfortable
silence.
What’s
the
problem?
It’s
possible
that
we
all
have
compromised
conversational
intelligence.
It’s
more
likely
that
none
of
us
start
a
conversation
because
it’s
awkward
and
challenging,
or
we
think
it’s
annoying
and
unnecessary.
But
the
next
time
you
find
yourself
among
strangers,
consider
that
small
talk
is
worth
the
trouble.
Experts
say
it’s
an
invaluable
social
practice
that
results
in
big
benefits.
Dismissing
small
talk
as
unimportant
is
easy,
but
we
can’t
forget
that
deep
relationships
wouldn’t
even
exist
if
it
weren’t
for
casual
conversation.
Small
talk
is
the
grease(润滑剂)
for
social
communication,
says
Bernardo
Carducci,
director
of
the
Shyness
Research
Institute
at
Indiana
University
Southeast.
"Almost
every
great
love
story
and
each
big
business
deal
begins
with
small
talk,"
he
explains.
"The
key
to
successful
small
talk
is
learning
how
to
connect
with
others,
not
just
communicate
with
them."
In
a
2014
study,
Elizabeth
Dunn,
associate
professor
of
psychology
at
UBC,
invited
people
on
their
way
into
a
coffee
shop.
One
group
was
asked
to
seek
out
an
interaction(互动)
with
its
waiter;
the
other,
to
speak
only
when
necessary.
The
results
showed
that
those
who
chatted
with
their
server
reported
significantly
higher
positive
feelings
and
a
better
coffee
shop
experience.
"It’s
not
that
talking
to
the
waiter
is
better
than
talking
to
your
husband,"
says
Dunn.
"But
interactions
with
peripheral(边缘的)
members
of
our
social
network
matter
for
our
well-being
also."
Dunn
believes
that
people
who
reach
out
to
strangers
feel
a
significantly
greater
sense
of
belonging,
a
bond
with
others.
Carducci
believes
developing
such
a
sense
of
belonging
starts
with
small
talk.
"Small
talk
is
the
basis
of
good
manners,"
he
says.

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇议论文。在当今社会,人们在公共场合或沉迷于智能手机,或与不舒服的沉默抗争,陌生人之间缺乏沟通。但人与人之间是需要适当的交谈闲聊的,闲聊是人际关系社会交往必不可少的部分,而且也有很多好处。
【12题详解】
主旨大意题。题干问的是:第一段描述了什么现象。在公共场合(比如在电梯里,在银行排队,或在飞机上)人们深深地专注于他们的智能手机,或者更糟糕的是,与不舒服的沉默抗争。有此可知,陌生人之间缺乏沟通。A项意为:沉迷于智能手机。B项意为:在公共场所不适当的行为。C项意为:陌生人之间缺乏沟通。D项意为:对缓慢的服务不耐烦。故选C项。
【13题详解】
推理判断题。题干问得是对于Carducci来说,成功的闲聊中重要的是什么。根据第三段最后一句“The
key
to
successful
small
talk
is
learning
how
to
connect
with
others,
not
just
communicate
with
them”(成功闲聊的关键是学习如何与他们交流,而不仅仅是与他们沟通。)由此推断C符合题意。A项意为:表现出良好的礼貌。B项意为:与他人有关的。C项意为:专注于一个话题。D项意为:做商业交易。故选B项。
【14题详解】
推理判断题。题干问的是:咖啡店的研究对闲聊有什么建议。根据第四段的调查结果可知,那些与服务员聊天的人,有显著的积极情绪和更好的咖啡店体验。由此可知,D项符合题意。A项意为:闲聊改善了家庭关系。B项意为:闲聊提高了人们的信心。C项意为:闲聊和正式谈话一样重要。D项意为:闲聊让人感觉很好。故选D项。
【15题详解】
主旨大意题。整篇文章刚开始介绍了社会的现象(公共场合人们沉迷于智能手机,陌生人之间缺乏沟通交流),接着分析了这一问题的原因,接下来有专家对闲聊进行了研究,最后得出结论,闲聊都有什么样的好处。A项意为:谈话很重要。B项意为:闲聊的方法。C项意为:闲聊的好处。D项意为:不舒服的沉默。故选C项。
【点睛】我们在做阅读理解时,尽量找出每段的主讲内容(可能是一句话或是一个短语),这样有利于整篇文章的把握,有利于做文章大意题。如35题,很显然本文讲的不是重要性也不是方法更不是沉默,所以ABD都可以轻松排除。
第二节(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇记叙文。记叙了作者遇到一位来自美国的年轻学生,并志愿带他参观故宫的经过。
【详解】1.考查定语从句的连接词。句意:昨天我在故宫遇见一位来自美国的年轻学生。本句为非限定性定语从句修饰上文young
student,且先行词在从句中作主语,指人,故应用关系代词who。故that改为who。
2.考查固定句式。句意:这是我第一次遇见外国人,所以我去用英语问候他。固定句式It
was
the
first
time
that…“第一次……”,故first前添加the。
3.考查人称代词。根据下文He
told
me
that
he
was
a
college
student可知,应用him。故her改为him。
4.考查非谓语动词。句意:他告诉我他是一个在中国旅游的大学生,他非常喜欢中国。此处是非谓语短语作定语,被修饰词student和travel之间是主动关系,用现在分词,把travel改为travelling/
traveling。
5.考查固定短语。句意:我自愿带他参观博物馆。固定短语show
sb
around
somewhere“带某人参观某地”,故去掉to。
6.考查名词的数。句意:中国的建筑给他留下了深刻的印象,他一直忙着拍照。photo为可数名词,前面没有冠词,故应用复数形式。故photo改为photos。
7.考查固定用法。句意:他说他以前从未见过这么漂亮的建筑。此处修饰名词things,so不能修饰复数名词,故so改为such。
8.考查动词时态。句意:之后,我们去湖上划船,在一起度过了美好的时光。根据上文可知事情发生在yesterday故应用一般过去时,故go改为went。
9.考查连词。根此处表示我们去划船,并且玩的很开心。是顺承关系,不是转折关系,故把but改为and。
10.考查固定短语。句意:我很高兴有机会提高我的英语口语。固定短语spoken
English“口语”,故speaking改为spoken。
【点睛】定语从句的关系词的选择可考虑以下三点:
(1)一看先行词的意义,即分清先行词是指人、指物、时间、地点还是原因(如指物时不能用who或whom,指人时通常不用which等)
(2)二看关系词的句法功能,即分清关系词是担任什么句子成分,是作主语还是宾语、是作定语还是状语等(如作定语通常用whose,有时也用which;作状语要用when,
where,
why)
(3)三看定语从句的种类,即分清是限制性定语从句还是非限制性定语从句(如that和why通常不引导非限制性定语从句)
如第一小题,本句为非限定性定语从句修饰上文young
student且先行词在从句中做主语,指人,故应用关系代词who。故that改为who。
