二、七选五
Music
has
long
been
considered
to
be
an
enjoyable
pastime
for
many
people.
1
The
mental
health
benefits
from
music
can't
be
argued.Music
could
also
be
helping
you
with
many
other
health
problems
behind
the
scenes.
2
However,for
the
same
reason,music
can
be
very
beneficial
if
one
is
in
pain.By
distracting
(分心)
the
mind
from
the
pain,music,people
say,can
lower
stress
and
anxiety
levels.This,of
course,can
lead
to
less
pain.
Many
people
enjoy
relaxing
music
in
the
evening
prior
to
going
to
bed.
3
While
the
validity
of
the
idea
is
still
being
assessed,the
lowered
stress
can
even
be
tied
back
to
blood
pressure.Similarly,
according
to
researchers,listening
to
just
30
minutes
of
soft
music
every
day
may
help
with
healthy
blood
sugar
levels,
through
the
lowering
of
stress
and
anxiety.
When
it
comes
to
heart
health,there
is
speculation
(推测)
that
it's
not
the
style
of
music,
but
rather
the
tempo
that
makes
it
so
good
for
your
heart
health.In
one
European
study,participants
listened
to
music
as
the
researchers
monitored
their
heart
rates
and
blood
pressure.
4
On
the
other
hand,when
the
music
slowed,the
participants'
stress
and
anxiety
levels
became
lower
and
the
effects
on
heart
rates
appeared
to
follow
suit.
5
But
there
is
a
whole
range
of
other
health
issues
that
turning
up
the
radio
could
be
beneficial
for,which
is
what
makes
music
so
valuable.
A.
This
feeling
can
also
result
in
many
other
health
problems.
B.
Some
experts
say
that
music
can
be
harmful
if
it
is
too
loud.
C.
This
idea
is
a
little
off-the-wall
but
still
has
scientific
backing.
D.
They
say
it
can
play
a
big
role
in
calming
the
brain
enough
to
sleep.
E.
The
implications
of
music
on
overall
well-being
are
really
impressive.
F.
It
is
also
highly
popular
due
to
the
individualized
effects
on
stress
and
anxiety.
G.
Interestingly,the
more
cheerful
the
music
was,the
faster
their
heart
rates
were.

一、过去分词作状语的用法
一、过去分词作状语的基本用法
过去分词作状语表示被动的和完成的动作,主要用于说明谓语动作发生的背景或条件,表示原因、时间、条件、让步、方式或伴随情况等。
1)
作原因状语,可转换为because,
as或since等引导的从句,多放在句首。
例如:Encouraged
(=As
she
was
encouraged)
by
the
teacher,
the
girl
was
very
happy.
由于被老师鼓励,这个女孩儿非常高兴。
Choked
(=Because
he
was
choked)
by
the
heavy
smoke,
he
could
hardly
breathe.
他被浓烟呛了,几乎不能呼吸。
2)作时间状语,可转换为when或while等引导的从句,通常放在句首。例如:
Seen
from
the
top
of
the
hill
(=When
it
is
seen
from
the
top
of
the
hill),
the
school
looks
like
a
big
garden.
从山顶上看,这个学校像个大花园。
3)作条件状语,可转换为once,
if或unless等引导的从句,一般放在句首。例如:
Given
more
attention
(=If
it
was
given
more
attention),
the
fire
could
have
been
avoided.
如果多注意一些,这场大火本可以避免。
4)作方式或伴随状语,常可转换为并列分句,可位于句首或句末。例如:
He
stood
there
silently,
moved
to
tears.
(=He
stood
there
silently
and
he
was
moved
to
tears.)
他静静地站在那里,被感动得热泪盈眶。
5)作让步状语,可转换为though,
although或even
if等引导的从句,常放在句首。例如:
Left
(=Although
she
was
left)
alone
at
home,
Jenny
didn’t
feel
afraid
at
all.
尽管被单独留在家里,但是珍妮一点都不害怕。
二、过去分词作状语的注意事项
1)过去分词作状语时其逻辑主语为主句的主语,此时应注意人称一致。如果过去分词作状语时,前面再加逻辑主语,主句的主语就不再是分词的逻辑主语,这种带逻辑主语的过去分词结构实际上属于独立主格结构。
例如:Given
another
hour,
I
can
also
work
out
this
problem.
再给我一个小时,我也能解这道题。
Their
homework
finished,
the
children
went
out
to
play
football.
完成作业后,孩子们出去踢足球了。
2)过去分词作状语时,有时为使分词(短语)与主句关系更清楚,可在分词前加连词when,
while,
if,
though,
as
if,
unless等,构成“连词+过去分词”
结构作状语。但分词主语和主句主语必须为同一个。
例如:When
given
a
physical
examination,
you
should
keep
calm.
做身体检查时,你应该要保持镇静。
Though
warned
of
the
danger,
he
still
went
skating
on
the
thin
ice.
尽管被警告有危险,他仍然在薄的冰面上滑冰。
8.
It’s
an
honour
to
be
here
and
to
share
with
you
the
story
of
how
music
has
had
an
impact
on
my
life.
非常荣幸来到这里与大家分享音乐是如何影响了我的人生的。
impact
作用,影响。一般与on搭配,构成短语
have
an
impact
on
对……有(产生)影响。
例句:The
climate
change
is
having
a
great
impact
on
the
environment.
气候变化正在给环境带来巨大影响。
9.
Have
you
ever
faced
a
time
when
things
lookeddark
and
you
had
no
hope
at
all?
你有没有面临过这样的时刻:一切看起来都很黯淡,而你不抱任何希望?
这是一个修辞问句。
英语中的修辞问句与一般的疑问句区别在于,它表面上是疑问,实际上并不需要他人回答,它只是作为一种反语来表达自己的意见,或引起读者注意,或用来进行强调,往往比陈述句更有力,更充满感彩。
常见表现形式有两种:

问句之后紧跟着回答。目的是引起读者的注意或重视,相当于中文里的“设问”。
例句:Popularity?
It’s
glory’s
small
change.
名望吗?那不过是光荣的零头。

不期望回答的问句。这种表明说话人心里是有确定答案的,相当于中文里的“反问”,用疑问形式的作用是加强语气,唤起读者的情感或思考。
例句:If
winter
comes,
can
spring
be
far
behind?
冬天来了,春天还会远吗?
10.
Then
one
day,
I
had
to
go
through
a
two-hour
medical
treatment.
然后有一天,我不得不接受两个小时的医学治疗。
had
to
必须;不得不。后接动词原形,与must相比,侧重于客观上的必要,表示外界的强制作用,强调被迫性,往往含有不情愿的色彩。
go
through
经历,经受(尤指苦难或艰难时期),多指经历痛苦的、不好的事情。
例句:I
had
to
wait
half
an
hour
for
a
bus.
我得等半小时的公共汽车。
He
was
going
through
a
very
difficult
time.
他正处于非常艰难的时期。
11.
John
A.
Logan
said,
“Music
is
the
medicine
of
the
mind.”
And
it’s
true.
Music
helped
me
recover.
约翰·洛根说:“音乐是心灵的良药。”确实是的,音乐帮助我恢复健康。
Music
is
the
medicine
of
the
mind.是英语中的隐喻(metaphor),也叫暗喻,常见形式是A
is
B。这种没有采用比喻词as或like的比喻,我们称之为隐喻。
例句:Time
is
money.
时间就是金钱。
Life
is
a
journey.
人生就是一场旅行。
12.
It
spoke
words
of
encouragement
to
the
deepest
part
of
my
being.
它(音乐)使我的内心深受鼓舞。
being在这里指“身心,思想感情”。
例句:The
woman
loved
her
dancing
career
with
her
whole
being.
那个女子全身心地热爱着自己的舞蹈事业。
The
whole
of
his
being
had
been
taken
over
by
fear.
他的身心充满恐惧。
三、过去分词作表语的用法
过去分词作表语时总是用在系动词之后,构成系表结构,说明主语的状态或特征。
一、常用系表结构
1)be动词+过去分词,常用来说明主语的状态或感受。
例如:My
cousin
is
very
interested
in
painting.
我的堂姐对画画很有兴趣。
She
was
astonished
to
hear
what
had
happened.
她听说发生了什么事情后十分惊讶。
2)get/become/remain/turn/grow等表示“变得”+过去
分词,说明主语的状态或特征。
例如:But
he
became
inspired
when
he
thought
about
helping
ordinary
people
exposed
to
chole.
但是当他想到要帮助那些遭受霍乱之苦的普通大众时,他被鼓舞了。
He
became
interested
in
English.
他对英语变得感兴趣了。
3)
look/feel/smell/taste/sound等感官动词+过去分词,有“…起来;感到…”的含义,说明主语的状态或特征。
例如:They
looked
disappointed.
他们看起来很失望。
四、过去分词作表语的注意事项
1)
过去分词作表语与被动语态的区别:系表结构中的过去分词表示主语所处的状态,被动语态则表示主语是动作的承受者。
例如:The
library
is
now
closed.
图书馆关门了。

5.动词imagine的用法
1)
imagine是及物动词,后面可跟名词、代词、动名词
和从句作宾语。例如:
The
house
was
just
as
she
had
imagined
it.这房子正是她所想象的。
We
never
imagined
that
Mike
would
become
a
doctor.我们从来没有想象过迈克居然会成为一个医生。
2)imagine后面跟动词时必须用动词的-ing形式。例如:
She
couldn’t
imagine
living
in
a
place
like
that.
她无法想象住在那样一个地方。
3)imagine后面还可以跟复合宾语。
①imagine+名词/代词+名词
例如:The
boy
likes
to
imagine
himself
a
flyer.那孩子喜欢想象自己是个飞行员。
②imagine+名词/代词+形容词
例如:Imagine

rich
and
famous.设想一下自己既有钱又有名的情形。
③imagine+名词/代词+介词短语
例如:Imagine

place.想象一下你处于他那个位置。
④imagine+名词/代词+分词
例如:Can

George
cooking
the
dinner?

4)imagine后跟带有as的宾语补足语。
上面所述跟复合宾语的各种情形中,有些宾语补足语前面可以用as。
例如:I

a
big
tall
man.
我原以为你是一个大高个儿。
He
imagined
himself
as
the
saviour
of
his
country.

5)imagine一般不用于进行时。
6.并列连词while的用法
1)引导时间状语从句,意为“当……时候,和……同时”。例如:

the
phone
rang.
我看电视时,电话响了。
Lucy

TV
while
she
ate
her
lunch.
露西边吃午饭边看电视。
2)引导让步状语从句,意为“虽然,尽管”。例如:
While
I
am
willing
to
help,
I
do
not
have
much
time
available.
尽管我愿意帮忙,但我没有多少时间。
3)引导条件状语从句,相当于as
long
as,意为“只要”。
例如:While

is

and
air,
there
will
be
life.

5)连接两个并列句子,意为“而;然而”,表对比关系。
例如:I
like
dancing
while
she
likes
singing.
我喜欢跳舞,而她喜欢唱歌。
需注意的问题
1)while引导的时间状语从句既可放句首也可放句末;而引导的让步状语从句一般放在句首。
例如:We
must
have
been
burgled
while
we
were
asleep.
我们一定是在睡觉的时候被偷了。
While
it
has
lost
its
tranquility,
the
area
has
gained
in
liveliness.
虽然该地区失去了往日宁静,但是却有了生气。
2)当while从句中的主语与主句的主语一致,且含有be的某种形式时,从句中的主语连同be可省略。
例如:She
fell
asleep
while
she
was
listening
to
music.
=
She
fell
asleep
while
listening
to
music.
她在听音乐时睡着了。
3)while引导的时间状语从句中,谓语动词必须是延续性动词或表示状态的词。
例如:While
we
were
having
a
meeting,
our
teacher
came
in.
我们正在开会时,老师走了进来。
4)while引导状语从句还可表示“某个动作正在进行的同时,另一动作也在进行之中”,这时主从句都用进行时态,有对两个动作进行对比的意味。
例如:While
Jim
is
picking
apples,
Kate
is
carrying
apples
to
the
truck.
吉姆正在摘苹果,凯特正在把苹果搬到卡车上去。
While
the
teacher

morning,
everybody!
It's
a
great
honor
to
be
here
and
share
something
with
you.
I
still
remember
how
depressed
I
was
after
the
midterm
examination
in
Senior
One,
when
I
had
hoped
to
be
still
among
the
best
as
in
junior
high
school.
At
that
time,
my
best
friend
came
up
and
asked
me
to
go
to
the
playground.
“You're
always
the
best
in
my
heart,”
she
comforted
me.
“There
is
always
a
road
ahead.”
Strangely,
my
heart
was
filled
with
warmth
I
had
never
sensed
before.
I
felt
much
better.
Sharing
is
part
of
beauty.
Just
as
a
Swedish
proverb
goes,
“Shared
joy
is
a
double
joy;
shared
sorrow
is
half
a
sorrow.”
Sharing
can
broaden
our
horizons.
As
for
me,
by
doing
this,
I
live
a
happier
and
more
confident
life.
Thanks
for
your
attention!
2.Good
morning,
everyone,
The
topic
of
my
speech
is
“The
Power
of
Teamwork".
No
matter
what
the
age,
being
able
to
work
together
with
another
person
or
in
a
group
will
have
benefits
in
relationships,
school,
and
work.
Teamwork
can
save
us
a
lot
of
time
and
energy.
Additionally,
we
can
learn
much
from
our
partners
by
cooperating
with
them.
How
can
we
cooperate
effectively?
In
my
opinion,
firstly,
we
should
try
to
listen
to
others'
opinions.
If
they
make
mistakes,
try
to
point
them
out
in
a
polite
way.
Besides,
never
force
your
ideas
on
others.
Last
but
not
least,
appreciate
their
gifts,
efforts,
and
sacrifices,
whether
they
are
big
or
small.
Thank
you!
3.
Good
afternoon,
everyone!
it’s
a
great
honor
to
have
the
opportunity
to
be
with
you
today.
The
topic
of
my
speech
is
“Thank
you,
mum”
Like
many
of
you,
my
life
has
been
blessed
with
a
mother
who
is
a
source
of
unconditional
love.
My
mum
is
an
ordinary
housewife
while
I
highly
appreciate
her
kind
consideration.
She
keeps
me
company,
cooks
me
tasty
dinners,
and
makes
my
room
as
clean
as
possible.
On
top
of
that,
whenever
I
get
upset,
she
listens
to
me
and
comforts
me
until
I
have
cheered
up.
I’m
fortunate
to
have
such
a
caring
mother.
We
know
the
challenging
exam
to
realize
dreams
is
there
for
me
and
you.
I
appeal
to
all
of
us
here
to
work
hard
for
our
mums.
Meanwhile,
express
your
love
in
return
in
daily
life.
Either
a
small
talk
with
mum
or
a
cup
of
tea
for
her,
and
her
face
will
light
up.
Thank
you
for
listening.
4.Good
morning,
ladies
and
gentlemen.
I
am
honored
to
have
a
chance
to
talk
about
English
study
here.
I
developed
an
interest
in
English
at
an
early
age
due
to
my
desire
to
travel
around
the
world
and
learn
about
different
cultures.
Interest
is
my
best
teacher.
Each
expression
learned
with
my
great
affection
opens
the
door
to
meaningful
stories
for
me.
Some
fascinating
English
movies
and
songs
guarantee
my
keen
enthusiasm
and
train
my
sense
of
the
language.
Additionally,
I
seize
every
opportunity
to
communicate
with
foreigners,
which
advances
my
understanding
of
English
countries.
In
future,
I
will
spare
no
effort
to
pursue
my
dream
by
studying
English
hard,
such
as
participating
in
various
English
activities
and
reading
English
magazines.
When
faced
with
difficulties,
I
will
turn
to
teachers
for
help.
I
believe
English
will
not
only
broaden
my
horizons
but
also
enrich
my
life.
Thank
you
for
your
listening.
5.Good
afternoon,
students
and
teachers,
I
am
delighted
to
have
been
invited
to
your
school
to
talk
to
you
about
how
to
deliver
a
good
English
speech.
First,
a
well-organized
speech
consists
of
three
part;
beginning,
body
and
ending.
In
the
beginning
part,
you
are
expected
to
mention
the
purpose
and
the
topic.
In
the
body
part,
you
can
share
with
your
audience
some
facts,
statistics
and
stories
relevant
to
your
topic.
In
the
ending
part,
you’d
better
express
your
hope
and
vision
for
the
future.
Second,
to
keep
the
audience
interested
all
the
time,
you
may
tell
an
interesting
story,
use
quotations
or
present
statistics.
Asking
questions
can
also
be
very
helpful.
Third,
when
delivering
a
speech
in
public,
you
have
to
take
the
following
things
into
consideration:
your
body
language,
your
tone,
and
your
speed.
Thank
you.
Now,
are
there
any
questions?
6.Good
morning,
everyone.
I’m
Li
Hua
from
Xingguang
Middle
School.
It’s
a
great
honor
to
be
here
and
to
share
my
views
with
you.
The
topic
of
my
speech
is
“Let’s
Ride
Bicycles”.
With
the
improvement
of
people’s
living
standards,
cars
have
become
a
popular
means
of
transport.
However,
they
have
also
caused
some
problems
such
as
air
pollution
and
traffic
jams.
How
can
we
solve
these
problems?
I
believe
riding
bicycles
is
a
good
solution.
For
one
thing,
bicycles
are
energy-saving,
and
for
another,
bicycles
are
environmentally
friendly
because
they
won’t
give
off
any
waste
gas.Therefore,
let’s
take
the
responsibility
to
build
up
a
low-carbon
city
by
riding
bicycles.
Come
on
and
join
us!
7.Hello,
everyone!
My
topic
today
is
“Confidence”.
Whether
we
know
it
or
not,
confidence
exists
in
our
life
and
plays
an
important
role
in
our
study
as
well
as
in
our
growth.
We
often
hear
someone
say
he
is
afraid
of
doing
something.
He
might
be
able
to
do
it,
but
he
is
not
confident
about
himself.
To
build
up
our
confidence,
first
we’d
better
take
part
in
as
many
sports
activities
as
possible.
Sports
and
games
expose
us
to
many
occasions
where
we
can
find
we
are
able
to
do
a
lot
of
things.
Another
way
is
to
work
together
with
our
classmates,
who
can
help
us
solve
many
problems.
Participation
in
class
is
also
helpful.
And
only
by
trying
hard
and
not
fearing
failure
can
we
become
confident.
Thanks
for
listening!
8.
Good
afternoon,
everyone!
  The
topic
of
my
speech
today
is
“My
Attitude
to
Pursuit
of
Fashion
in
School”.
  Now
in
our
school
there
is
a
hot
pursuit
of
fashion.
Some
students
live
a
very
expensive
life.
They
have
the
same
hairstyles
as
their
favorable
stars
and
wear
top
brand
of
clothes
and
shoes.
Some
use
expensive
mobile
phones.
The
reasons
why
they
do
so
are
as
follows.
Firstly,
they
hope
to
look
smart
and
special.
Secondly,
they
want
to
win
others’
admiration
and
respect.
In
addition,
it
makes
them
feel
cool.
As
far
as
I
am
concerned,
we
students
should
hold
the
right
sense
of
values.
We
should
practice
thrift
in
our
daily
life
because
it
is
one
of
our
Chinese
traditional
virtues.
What’s
more,
it
is
advisable
for
us
to
donate
some
pocket
money
to
the
Hope
Project
so
that
those
poor
children
in
rural
areas
can
return
to
school
to
receive
normal
education.
Last
but
not
least,
it
is
the
inner
beauty
rather
than
our
appearance
that
makes
us
respectable.
  Thank
you
for
listening!
9.
Good
morning,
everyone!
Some
of
us
are
having
problems
with
our
parents,
as
they
often
look
into
our
school
bags
or
read
our
diaries.
I
fully
understand
why
we
are
not
comfortable
about
it,
but
there's
no
need
to
feel
too
sad.
Our
parents
are
checking
our
bags
or
diaries
to
make
sure
we're
not
getting
into
any
trouble.
They
have
probably
heard
some
horrible
stories
about
other
kids
and
thought
we
might
do
the
same.
Or
perhaps
they
just
want
to
connect
with
us
but
are
doing
it
all
wrong.
My
suggestion
is:
Tell
them
we
want
them
to
trust
us
as
much
as
we'd
like
to
trust
them.
If
you
don't
think
you
can
talk
to
them,
write
them
a
letter
and
leave
it
lying
around-they
are
bound
to
read
it.
Thank
you!
10.We
are
now
living
in
an
information
age,
in
which
TV,
cells
and
the
web
are
widely
used.
It
seems
that
many
people
cannot
enjoy
themselves
with
them.
However,
if
I
had
to
give
up
one
of
them,
I
would
turn
off
TV
rather
than
switch
off
my
cell
or
cut
off
the
Internet.
I
could
do
without
TV
because
few
TV
shows
can
take
my
fancy
and
there’re
too
many
commercials.
Besides,
most
programs
on
TV
are
also
available
elsewhere.
As
for
cells
and
the
web,
they
are
more
necessary
to
me.
I
need
a
cell
to
keep
in
touch
with
my
friends
and
family,
and
almost
all
information
can
be
gathered
on
the
Internet.
11.My
approach
to
difficulties
in
learning
As
school
students,
we
run
into
one
difficulty
after
another
in
the
process
of
learning.
Everyone
has
their
own
ways
to
deal
with
them.
Here
I
would
like
to
share
mine.
When
I
am
faced
with
a
difficulty,
I
usually
choose
to
refer
to
relevant
learning
materials
or
web
pages.
In
this
way,
I
can
not
only
work
it
out
but
also
improve
my
ability
to
overcome
problems
all
by
myself.
However,
when
it
is
something
beyond
my
competence,
I
turn
to
my
classmates
or
teachers
for
help.
Sometimes
I
also
ask
my
parents
for
advice.
As
a
result,
I
have
made
steady
progress
in
my
studies.拓展阅读(配音频)

Every
four
years,
millions
of
people
gather
in
summer
to
watch
soccer
games
and
cheer
for
their
favorite
teams
and
players.
This
year,
the
World
Cup
kick
off
on
June
14
in
Russia.
Leading
up
to
the
most
exciting
sporting
event
of
summer,
Live
It
Up,
the
official
World
Cup
song,
was
released
on
May
25.
Performed
by
US
artist
Nicky
Jam,
US
actor
and
singer
Will
Smith,
and
Albanian
singer
Era
Istref,
the
song
has
a
line
that
goes,
"One
life,
live
it
up,
'cause
we
got
one
life."
With
a
great
melody
and
catchy
lyrics,
the
song
stands
for
"the
excitement,
the
celebration
and
the
unity
that
people
all
over
the
world
will
share
during
the
2018
World
Cup",
Philippe
Le
Floc'h,
chief
commercial
officer
of
the
International
Federation
of
Football
Association
(FIFA)
told
.
In
fact,
ever
since
the
first
official
World
Cup
song
came
out
in
1966
for
the
England
World
Cup,
the
relationship
between
soccer
and
music
has
grown
stronger
and
stronger.
As
The
Wall
Street
Journal
put
it,
"Listening
to
motivational
music
(does)
encourage
people
to
take
more
risks."
Austrian
soccer
player
David
Alaba
said
that
music
plays
an
important
role
in
his
career.
"I
try
to
get
fired
up
before
matches
and
listen
to
music
which
motivates
me,"he
told
.
Apart
from
official
songs
and
national
anthems,
many
soccer
players
also
use
their
personal
music
collections
to
lift
their
moods.
French

from

Argentine

while
German

Marco

is
known
to

One
of
the
world's
greatest
soccer
coaches,
Giovanni
Trapattoni,
even
believes
that
listening
to
music
can
teach
players
great
lessons.
"You
learn
a
lot
about
intervals,
tempo,
rhythm.
You
learn
the
logical
skills
you
need
to
read
a
game,"
he
told
.
Indeed,
the
right
music
can
make
all
the
difference.
As
Colombian
musician
Juanes
told
,
soccer
and
music
have
a
lot
in
common.
"You
throw
yourself
into
it,
and
it
moves
something
within
people.
You
need
your
feet
for
soccer
and
you
need
words
for
music,
but
they
arouse
one
and
the
same
thing:
passion,"
he
said.
一个人的乐队
Performing
for
a
cause
"Time
flies.
Youth
fades;
treasure
each
moment
of
your
life,"
accompanied
by
guitar
and
drums,
the
Band
for
One,
made
up
of
five
people,
sang
the
lyrics
soulfully
during
a
performance
in
Hangzhou,
Zhejiang
province,
on
Nov
7.
Behind
the
band,
there
was
a
picture
of
a
young
man
named
Philip
Hancock
shown
on
the
screen.
And
he
is
the
reason
they
were
all
there.
Hancock
was
a
27-year-old
Australian
who
taught
English
in
Chongqing.
When
he
died
in
2018
due
to
complications
from
diabetes,
his
parents
followed
his
wishes
and
donated
his
organs
with
the
help
of
the
Red
Cross
Society
of
China's
Chongqing
branch.
"I'm
Philip's
liver";
"I'm
Philip's
kidney";
"I'm
Philip's
eyes."
The
five
people

a
real
estate
salesperson,
a
farmer,
a
former
truck
driver
and
two
doctors

introduced
themselves
onstage.
They
are
the
ones
who
received
Philip's
organs.
"Last
year,
Red
Cross
officials
told
me
that
Philip's
parents
mentioned
during
an
earlier
memorial
service
that
he
loved
music
and
dreamed
of
having
his
own
band
one
day,"
said
former
truck
driver
Chen
Xianjun.
Chen
was
instantly
on
board
to
form
a
band
in
memory
of
Philip,
and
so
were
the
other
four
recipients.
Since
they
had
no
music
experience,
they
had
to
start
from
scratch.
From
learning
the
guitar,
to
mastering
the
maracas
and
taking
on
the
drums,
they
took
time
out
of
their
busy
lives
to
rehearse
over
the
past
year,
even
during
the
pandemic.
"Picking
up
a
new
instrument
is
certainly
difficult
at
my
age,
but
we
have
a
clear
goal
in
mind
and
are
determined
to
achieve
it,"
said
Mo
Li,
the
36-year-old
real
estate
salesman.
"I
think
Philip
not
only
gave
me
a
renewed
life,
but
also
some
'musical
cells'
that
enable
me
to
appreciate
beautiful
melodies."
Peter
Hancock,
Philip's
father,
said
after
watching
the
band's
performance,
his
biggest
wish
is
for
the
five
to
enjoy
their
lives
more.
Organ
donation
is
not
only
the
best
way
to
memorialize
a
loved
one,
but
also
a
remarkable
way
to
save
the
lives
of
others.
According
to
Xinhua,
China
faces
a
serious
shortage
of
organs,
with
about
300,000
people
waiting
for
organ
transplant
surgeries
each
year.
But
the
good
news
is,
more
and
more
people
have
been
signing
up
to
be
organ
donors,
echoing
the
spirit
of
selflessness
that
Philip
and
so
many
others
have
shown.

"It

Apart
from
young
audiences,
Chinese
young
performers
are
also
doing
increasingly
well
in
the
domestic
market
and
show
a
great
potential
for
indigenous
culture
to
build
a
stronghold.
For
example,
the
19-year-old
Chinese
singer-actor
Jackson
Yee
featured
as
a
coach
on
the
reality
show
Street
Dance
of
China.
With
more
than
80
million
followers
on
his
Sina
Weibo
platform,
Yee's
participation
helped
attract
audiences
to
an
otherwise
less
known
art.
On
the
iQiYi's
The
Big
Band,
many
young
bands
got
the
opportunity
to
show
their
music,
and
some
have
become
quite
popular.
As
a
result,
music
that
would
have
remained
underground
is
now
in
the
spotlight.
"Many
young
bands
on
the
The
Big
Band
inspire
me
to
learn
more
about
their
stories
and
indie
music,"
Yang
Zixu,
a
fan
of
The
Big
Band,
wrote
on
the
Chinese
Q
and
A
platform
Zhihu.
Thanks
to
the
joint
effort
of
young
audiences
and
performers,
there's
"a
driving
force
for
Chinese
cultural
and
creative
industries"
and
it
also
"indicates
China
has
entered
a
higher
stage
of
development
with
better
economic
and
social
foundations,"
according
to
China
Daily.
