高中英语新课程标准指出:高中英语课程应有利于学生进一步拓宽国际视野和增强爱国主义精神和民族使命感,为他们的未来发展和终身学习奠定良好的基础。习近平总书记在党的十九大报告中深刻指出:“文化兴国运兴,文化强民族强。没有高度的文化自信,没有文化的繁荣兴盛,就没有中华民族伟大复兴。”因为“文化自信,是更基础、更广泛、更深厚的自信”。在新时代中国特色社会主义伟大事业征程中,以社会主义核心价值观为引领,发展中国特色社会主义大众文化,是增强文化自信的基本途径。2019人教版新教材高中英语必修第三册

celebrations,我们就思考如何把文化自信的人文核心素养通过精心设计植入到常规教学之中,原教材延伸阅读是关于中国传统节日—春节(Spring
Festival),而我们就思考在此基础上做进一步拓展,把端午节(Dragon
Boat
Festival)这个更具有爱国情怀、民族情怀和民生情怀的节日设计成人文核心素养课呈现给学生。新课标进一步指出:高中英语课程要关注学生的情感,使学生在英语学习过程中,独立思考和判断能力,发展与人沟通合作的能力。基于此我们的教学设计如下:
一、教学内容分析
本课教学内容为“中国传统节日---端午节”,该课作为2019人教版新教材高一英语必修第三册

celebrations的拓展学习课,重点介绍端午节的相关知识如来源、习俗和端午节相关的日常活动,侧重学习与端午节相关的英文词汇、短语及活动的表达。本节课程内容选自网络https://www./essential/holidays/dragon-boat.htm并进行了删节,以适应学生的阅读能力。

Festival
is
celebrated
in
Mainland
China,
Hong
Kong,
Macau,?and
elsewhere
around
the
world.
The
people
of
China
generally
receive
a
three-day
break.
The
Dragon
Boat
Festival
is
one
of
the
busiest
travel
holidays
in
China.
The
Dragon
Boat
Festival
goes
by
many
names
in
China
and
across
the
world.?In
Mainland
China,
the
Dragon
Boat
Festival
is
referred
to
as
the
Duanwu
Festival.
The
Duanwu
Festival
is
celebrated
on
the
fifth
day
of
the
fifth
month
on
the
lunar
calendar.
Legend
The
Dragon
Boat
Festival
originated
from
the
events
of
China’s
Warring
States
Period.
According
to
the
old
stories,
there
was
a
Minister
of
the
state
of
Chu
who
supported
the
decision
to
launch
war
against
the
cruel
state
of
Qin.
This
minister’s
name
was
Qu
Yuan.
But
later
,
the
King
disapproved
and
exiled(流放)Qu
Yuan.
During
his
exile(流放),
Qu
Yuan
wrote
various
patriotic
poems
that
expressed
his
love
and
vision
for
China.
Among
these
poems
written
by
Qu
Yuan
is
the
world
famous
“The
Lament”《离骚》.
When
the
state
of
Qin
began
to
gain
ground
and
take
over
China,
Qu
Yuan
drowned
himself
in
the
Miluo
River
in
278
BC.
It
is
said
that
Qu
Yuan
loved
China
so
much
that
he
would
rather
die
than
see
it
fall
into
the
hands
of
the
Qin.
After
his
death,
the
works
of
Qu
Yuan
were
circulated.
Having
gained
reputation
as
an
author
and
a
patriot(爱国者),
the
Dragon
Boat
Festival
began
to
honor
his
death
in
the
river.
Traditions
To
honor
the
life
and
work
of
Qu
Yuan,
boat
races
are
held
on
various
waterways
throughout
China
each
year.
While
regular
people
participate
in
these
races,
there
are
also
teams
of
racers
who
train
for
months
leading
up
to
the
events.
The
canoes
and
long
boats
used
in
these
races
are
painted
with
dragon
designs
and
colors
to
celebrate
the
holiday.
Hanging
Chinese
mugwort(蒿草)
and
calamus(菖蒲)
during
the
Dragon
Boat
Festival
is
an
old
practice
that
is
not
common
in
cities,
but
it
is
still
used
in
many
of
China’s
rural
areas.
These
fragrant
plants
are
intended
to
keep
evil
spirits
out
of
the
home.
In
addition
to
this,
the
hanging
of
these
plants
is
also
intended
to
bring
happiness
and
good
luck
through
the
rest
of
the
year.
Food
During
the
Dragon
Boat
Festival,
you
may
enjoy
a
variety
of
cuisine
that
has
been
created
just
for
the
holiday.
Zongzi
(粽子)
is
one
of
the
most
common
treats.
These
are
sticky
rice
dumplings
that
are
filled
with
rice,
beans,
and
other
ingredients.
They
are
sometimes
wrapped
in
bamboo
or
reed
leaves.
The
flavor
of
zongzi
vary
greatly
depending
on
region
and
chef.
It
is
also
a
common
practice
to
drink
realgar(雄黄)
wine
during
one
of
the
Dragon
Boat
Festival
meals.
Traditionally,
this
alcoholic
drinks
drives
away
evil
spirits
and
repels
disease.
本节课旨在使学生对中国传统节日—端午节在Festivals
and
celebrations原有的基础上得到延伸,深化对端午节的学习和理解,旨在将中国传统文化融入到英语课堂中,提高学生文化意识,传承中国优秀传统文化。培养学生对传统文化的浓厚兴趣,仅仅告知是不够的,实际上,真情告白远不及潜移默化,潜移默化不如学生自主探究的效果好。
二、学生分析
授课班级为高三年级普通班、实验班,经过高中三年的学习,学生英语的综合语言能力有一定的积累,但各班级学生基础仍旧参差不齐,一部分学生的英语基础较好,一部分词汇量较少,多数学生对传统文化的英文积累不够。因此,在这节课中,我为学生提供了一些帮助,通过大量的图片、两个视频和介绍贯穿整节课,在欣赏视频和图片中激活他们学习的动机,并学习相关端午节习俗的英文表达方式。
三、教学目标
1.语言知识目标
学生掌握本节课中学到的与端午节相关的习俗表达及词汇、短语和句型,能用英文正确表达端午节有关活动。
2.语言能力目标
提高学生的词汇量并锻炼英语表达能力,提高学生运用英语的综合能力。小组讨论和合作来培养学生的交际和团队合作能力,帮助学生养成团结、协作的品质。
3.文化核心素养
加深学生对中国传统节日端午节的了解,让学生能够认识到中国传统节日的重要性,旨在使学生用英文正确表达端午节的有关内容,并从屈原两节诗:长太息以掩涕兮,哀民生之多艰(Long

Why?这里让学生自主思考探究得出答案,同时进一步体会原诗句如何把语言之美、思想之美和情感之美完美契合在一起,从而潜移默化地继承和弘扬我国传统文化,建立学生的文化自信和语言自豪感。

培养思辨和批判性思维的能力
课堂上有意设计一个问题:Why
do
some
young
people
celebrate
western
festivals?
目的是让学生反思为什么有年轻人会庆祝西方的节日,学生通过思考回答:They
do
it
just
out
of
curiosity
or
just
for
fun,
but
they
have
little
or
no
knowledge
of
western
traditions
and
culture。他们只是出于好奇或好玩,或者商家为了获经济取利益而搞的宣传,并非是那些年轻人深入研究了西方的节日,而我们的根在中国,我们的传统文化才是我们的血脉。这样做就是为了培养学生的思辨能力,而不是人云亦云,凑热闹,去过西方人的节日。

总之,学生传统文化核心素养的培养,不只是写在新课程标准上的美丽文字,而是要通过教师每一次精妙的课堂设计,每一个教学环节中的巧妙引导,才能让学生自然而然地形成传统文化自信和自豪感,在未来才能更深入地去研究我们精微博大的传统文化,才能继承和发扬我们伟大的文化传统,并以此进行跨文化交流与合作,并让我们的传统文化造福于社会,促进社会的文明与进步,进而造福于全人类。1
