第二节:完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从16-35各题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项并在答题卡上将其涂黑。
I
used
to
hate
being
called
upon
in
class
mainly
because
I
didn’t
like
attention
drawn
to
myself.
And
16
otherwise
assigned(指定)a
seat
by
the
teacher,
I
always
17
to
sit
at
the
back
of
the
classroom.
All
this
18
after
I
joined
a
sports
team.
It
began
when
a
teacher
suggested
I
try
out
for
the
basketball
team.
At
first
I
thought
it
was
a
crazy
19
because
I
didn’t
have
a
good
sense
of
balance,
nor
did
I
have
the
20
to
keep
pace
with
the
others
on
the
team
and
they
would
tease
me.
But
for
the
teacher
who
kept
insisting
on
my

21
for
it”,
I
wouldn’t
have
decided
to
give
a
try.
Getting
up
the
courage
to
go
to
the
tryouts
was
only
the
22
of
it!
When
I
first
started
23
the
practice
sessions,
I
didn’t
even
know
the
rules
of
the
game,
much
24
what
I
was
doing.
Sometimes
I’d
get
25
and
take
a
shot
at
the
wrong
direction—which
made
me
feel
really
stupid.
26
,
I
wasn’t
the
only
one
“new”
at
the
game,
so
I
decided
to
27
on
learning
the
game,
do
my
best
at
each
practice
session,
and
not
be
too
hard
on
myself
for
the
things
I
didn’t
28
“just
yet”.
I
practiced
and
practiced.
Soon
I
knew
the
29
and
the
“moves”.
Being
part
of
a
team
was
fun
and
motivating.
Very
soon
the
competitive
30
in
me
was
winning
over
my
lack
of
confidence.
With
time,
I
learned
how
to
play
and
made
friends
in
the
31

friends
who
respect
my
efforts
to
work
hard
and
be
a
team
player.
I
never
had
so
much
fun!
With
my
32
self-confidence
comes
more
praise
from
teachers
and
classmates.
I
have
gone
from
“33”
in
the
back
of
the
classroom
and
not
wanting
to
call
attention
to
myself,
34
raising
my
hand—even
when
I
sometimes
wasn’t
and
not
100
percent
35
I
had
the
right
answer.
Now
I
have
more
self-confidence
in
myself.

“I
Went
Skydiving
at
84!”
As
a
young
girl
growing
up
in
the
1930s,
I
always
wanted
to
fly
a
plane,
but
back
then
it
was
almost
unheard
of
a
woman
to
do
that.
I
got
a
taste
of
that
dream
in
2001,
when
my
husband
arranged
for
me
to
ride
in
a
hot
air
balloon
for
my
birthday.
But
the
experience
turned
out
to
be
very
dull.
Around
that
time,
I
told
my
husband
that
I
wanted
to
skydive.
So
when
our
retirement
community(社区)announced
that
they
were
having
an
essay
competition
and
the
topic
was
an
experience
of
a
lifetime
that
you
wanted
to
have,
I
decided
to
write
about
my
dream.
In
the
essay,
I
wrote
about
my
desire
to
skydive,
stating
George
Brush
Sr.
did
it
at
age
80.
Why
not
me?
I
was
just
84
and
in
pretty
good
health.
A
year
went
by
and
I
heard
nothing.
But
then
at
a
community
party
in
late
April
2009,
they
announced
that
I
was
one
of
the
winners.
I
just
couldn’t
believe
it.
On
June
11,
2009,
nearly
40
of
my
family
and
friends
gathered
in
the
area
close
to
where
I
would
land
while
I
headed
up
in
the
airplane.
My
instructor,
Jay,
guided
me
through
the
experience.
The
plane
was
the
noisiest
one
I
had
ever
been
in,
but
I
wasn’t
frightened—I
was
really
just
looking
forward
to
the
experience.
When
we
reached
13,000
feet,
Jay
instructed
me
to
throw
myself
out
of
the
plane.
When
we
first
hit
the
air,
the
wind
was
so
strong
that
I
could
hardly
breathe.
For
a
second
I
thought,
“What
have
I
gotten
myself
into?”
But
then
everything
got
calmer.
We
were
in
a
free
fall
for
about
a
minute
before
Jay
opened
the
parachute(降落伞),
then
we
just
floated
downward
for
about
five
minutes.
Being
up
in
the
clouds
and
looking
at
the
view
below
was
unlike
anything
I
have
ever
felt—much
better
than
the
hot
air
balloon.
I
was
just
enjoying
it
Skydiving
was
really
one
of
the
greatest
experiences
of
my
life.
I
hope
other
people
will
look
at
me
and
realize
that
you
don’t
stop
living
just
because
you
are
84
years
old.
If
there’s
something
you
want
to
experience,
look
into
it.
If
it’s
something
that
is
possible,
make
it
happen.

B
In
the
fall
of
1985,
I
was
a
bright-eyed
girl
heading
off
to
Howard
University,
aiming
at
a
legal
career
and
dreaming
of
sitting
on
a
Supreme
Court
bench
somewhere.
Twenty-one
years
later
I
am
still
a
bright-eyed
dreamer
and
one
with
quite
a
different
tale
to
tell.
My
grandma,
an
amazing
woman,
graduated
from
college
at
the
age
of
65.
She
was
the
first
in
our
family
to
reach
that
goal.
But
one
year
after
I
started
college,
she
developed
cancer.
I
made
the
choice
to
withdraw
from
college
to
care
for
her.
It
meant
that
school
and
my
personal
dream
would
have
to
wait.
Then
I
got
married
with
another
dream:
building
my
family
with
a
combination
of
adopted
and
biological
children.
In
1999,
we
adopted
our
first
son.
To
lay
eyes
on
him
was
fantastic---and
very
emotional.
A
year
later
came
our
second
adopted
boy.
Then
followed
son
No.
3.
In
2003,
I
gave
birth
to
another
boy.
You
can
imagine
how
fully
occupied
I
became,
raising
four
boys
under
the
age
of
18.
Our
home
was
a
complete
zoo---a
joyous
zoo.
Not
surprising,
I
never
did
make
it
back
to
college
full-time.
But
I
never
gave
up
on
the
dream
either.
I
had
only
one
choice:
to
find
a
way.
That
meant
talking
as
few
as
one
class
each
semester.
The
hardest
part
was
feeling
guilty
about
the
time
I
spent
away
from
the
boys.
They
often
wanted
me
to
stay
home
with
them.
There
certainly
were
times
I
wanted
to
quit.
But
I
knew
I
should
set
an
example
for
them
to
follow
through
the
rest
of
their
lives.
In
2007,
I
graduated
from
the
University
of
North
Carolina.
It
took
me
over
21
years
to
get
my
college
degree!
I
am
not
special,
just
single-minded.
It
always
struck
me
that
when
you’re
looking
at
a
big
challenge
from
the
outside,
it
looks
huge,
but
when
you’re
in
the
midst
of
it,
it
just
seems
normal.
Everything
you
want
won’t
arrive
in
your
life
on
one
day.
It’s
a
process.
Remember;little
steps
add
up
to
big
dreams.
41.
When
the
author
went
to
Howard
University,
her
dream
was
to
be
______.
A.
a
writer
B.
a
teacher
C.
a
judge
D.
a
doctor
42.
Why
did
the
author
quit
school
in
her
second
year
of
college?
A.
She
wanted
to
study
by
herself.
B.
She
fell
in
love
and
got
married.
C.
She
suffered
from
a
serious
illness.
D.
She
decided
to
look
after
her
grandma.
43.
What
can
we
learn
about
the
author
from
Paragraphs
4
and
5?
A.
She
was
busy
yet
happy
with
her
family
life.
B.
She
ignored
her
guilty
feeling
for
her
sons.
C.
She
wanted
to
remain
a
full-time
housewife.
D.
She
was
too
confused
to
make
a
correct
choice.
44.
What
does
the
author
mostly
want
to
tell
us
in
the
last
paragraph?
A.
Failure
is
the
mother
of
success.
B.
Little
by
little,
one
goes
far.
C.
Every
coin
has
two
sides.
D.
Well
begun,
half
done.
45.
Which
of
the
following
can
best
describe
the
author?
A.
Caring
and
determined.
B.
Honest
and
responsible.
C.
Ambitious
and
sensitive.
D.
Innocent
and
single-minded.
C
It
is
well
known
that
the
Japanese
people’s
love
of
fish
is
almost
as
strong
as
a
bee’s
interest
in
honey.
As
fish
populations
were
becoming
smaller
and
smaller,
fishing
companies
were
forced
to
fish
further
and
further
away
from
the
shore.
Then
they
had
a
big
challenge

how
to
keep
the
fish
fresh
for
longer.
So
they
decided
to
keep
the
fish
stored
in
freezers
on
the
boats.
But
the
public
did
not
like
frozen
fish.
So
again
the
fishing
companies
had
a
new
bigger
challenge.
What
they
decided
to
do
was
to
have
fish
tanks
on
their
boats.
After
catching
fishes,
they
would
put
them
in
the
tanks
and
keep
them
living
there
until
they
got
back
to
shore.
But
in
this
protected
environment,
lacking
predators
(掠食者),
the
fish
stopped
moving
around.
The
Japanese
public
felt
these
dull
fish
did
not
taste
fresh,
which
had
an
unpleasant
effect
upon
sales.
Once
again
the
fishing
companies
had
an
even
bigger
challenge

Stop
for
a
minute!
Before
we
go
any
further,
I
would
like
to
ask
“What
are
your
challenges?
How
do
you
handle
an
unexpected
challenge?

May
I
think
it
this
way
that
you
should
try
to
attack
your
challenges?
Conquer(征服)
them
with
a
Swiss
Army
knife.
Take
the
most
proper
and
simple
tool
that
you
can
adopt
to
deal
with
your
situation.
Now
back
to
our
story.
How
did
the
Japanese
finally
solve
the
fresh
fish
problem?
Sharks!
You
might
think
the
same.
Sharks
were
caught
and
put
into
the
tanks
with
other
fishes.
Don’t
sharks
eat
fish?
Well,
they
do
eat
a
few
fish,
but
they
did
also
keep
more
fish
active
and
alert
(警觉的).
The
fish
stay
fresh
because
they
are
challenged.
Now,
try
to
keep
yourself
fresh
by
finding
your
own
shark
to
offer
yourself
a
challenge
in
your
own
business
and
career.
46.
The
main
reason
for
the
fishing
company
to
fish
in
the
far
sea
is
that
.
A.
the
number
of
fishes
near
the
shore
was
reducing
B.
the
fishes
farther
away
from
the

第三部分:写作(共两节;满分25分)
第一节:
阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
Many
teachers
say
that
they
don’t
often
receive
information
from
parents
about
problems
at
home.
Many
parents
say
they
don’t
know
what
the
school
expects
from
their
children
or
from
them.
Sharing
information
is
essential
and
both
teachers
and
parents
are
responsible
for
making
it
happen.
Here
are
some
tips
for
parents
to
contact
teachers.
Learn
everything
that
you
can
about
your
child’s
school.
The
more
you
know,
the
easier
your
job
as
a
parent
will
be.
Ask
for
a
school
handbook.
This
will
answer
many
questions
that
will
arise
over
the
year.
If
the
school
doesn’t
have
a
handbook,
ask
questions.
Ask
the
teachers,
for
example:
what
classes
does
the
school
offer?
What
are
the
school’s
rules
and
regulations(规章制度)?
Ask
about
teaching
methods
and
material:
Are
the
methods
based
on
evidence
of
what
works
best
in
teaching
reading
or
math?
Are
the
science
and
history
textbooks
up
to
date?
Ask
if
the
school
has
a
website
and,
if
so,
get
the
address.
School
websites
can
provide
you
with
ready
access
to
all
kinds
of
information:
schedules
of
events,
names
of
people
to
contact,
rules
and
regulations,
and
so
on.
Keep
informed
throughout
the
school
year.
If
your
schedule
permits,
attend
teacher-parent
meetings
held
by
the
school.
If
you
can’t
attend
the
meeting,
ask
other
parents
about
the
content
of
the
meeting.
Or,
find
it
out
on
the
school’s
website.
Contact(联系)
teachers
early
and
often.
Contact
your
child’s
teachers
at
the
beginning
of
the
year
or
as
soon
as
you
can.
Tell
teachers
what
they
need
to
know
about
your
child.
If
she
has
special
needs,
make
these
known
from
the
beginning.
If
you
notice
a
big
change
in
your
child’s
behavior,
school
performance
or
attitude
during
the
school
year,
contact
the
teacher
immediately.

I
used
to
hate
being
called
upon
in
class
mainly
because
I
didn’t
like
attention
drawn
to
myself.
And
16
otherwise
assigned(指定)a
seat
by
the
teacher,
I
always
17
to
sit
at
the
back
of
the
classroom.
All
this
18
after
I
joined
a
sports
team.
It
began
when
a
teacher
suggested
I
try
out
for
the
basketball
team.
At
first
I
thought
it
was
a
crazy
19
because
I
didn’t
have
a
good
sense
of
balance,
nor
did
I
have
the
20
to
keep
pace
with
the
others
on
the
team
and
they
would
tease
me.
But
for
the
teacher
who
kept
insisting
on
my

21
for
it”,
I
wouldn’t
have
decided
to
give
a
try.
Getting
up
the
courage
to
go
to
the
tryouts
was
only
the
22
of
it!
When
I
first
started
23
the
practice
sessions,
I
didn’t
even
know
the
rules
of
the
game,
much
24
what
I
was
doing.
Sometimes
I’d
get
25
and
take
a
shot
at
the
wrong
direction—which
made
me
feel
really
stupid.
26
,
I
wasn’t
the
only
one
“new”
at
the
game,
so
I
decided
to
27
on
learning
the
game,
do
my
best
at
each
practice
session,
and
not
be
too
hard
on
myself
for
the
things
I
didn’t
28
“just
yet”.
I
practiced
and
practiced.
Soon
I
knew
the
29
and
the
“moves”.
Being
part
of
a
team
was
fun
and
motivating.
Very
soon
the
competitive
30
in
me
was
winning
over
my
lack
of
confidence.
With
time,
I
learned
how
to
play
and
made
friends
in
the
31

friends
who
respect
my
efforts
to
work
hard
and
be
a
team
player.
I
never
had
so
much
fun!
With
my
32
self-confidence
comes
more
praise
from
teachers
and
classmates.
I
have
gone
from
“33”
in
the
back
of
the
classroom
and
not
wanting
to
call
attention
to
myself,
34
raising
my
hand—even
when
I
sometimes
wasn’t
and
not

I
had

阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中,选出最佳选项。
A
“I
Went
Skydiving
at
84!”
As
a
young
girl
growing
up
in
the
1930s,
I
always
wanted
to
fly
a
plane,
but
back
then
it
was
almost
unheard
of
a
woman
to
do
that.
I
got
a
taste
of
that
dream
in
2001,
when
my
husband
arranged
for
me
to
ride
in
a
hot
air
balloon
for
my
birthday.
But
the
experience
turned
out
to
be
very
dull.
Around
that
time,
I
told
my
husband
that
I
wanted
to
skydive.
So
when
our
retirement
community(社区)announced
that
they
were
having
an
essay
competition
and
the
topic
was
an
experience
of
a
lifetime
that
you
wanted
to
have,
I
decided
to
write
about
my
dream.
In
the
essay,
I
wrote
about
my
desire
to
skydive,
stating
George
Brush
Sr.
did
it
at
age
80.
Why
not
me?
I
was
just
84
and
in
pretty
good
health.
A
year
went
by
and
I
heard
nothing.
But
then
at
a
community
party
in
late
April
2009,
they
announced
that
I
was
one
of
the
winners.
I
just
couldn’t
believe
it.
On
June
11,
2009,
nearly
40
of
my
family
and
friends
gathered
in
the
area
close
to
where
I
would
land
while
I
headed
up
in
the
airplane.
My
instructor,
Jay,
guided
me
through
the
experience.
The
plane
was
the
noisiest
one
I
had
ever
been
in,
but
I
wasn’t
frightened—I
was
really
just
looking
forward
to
the
experience.
When
we
reached
13,000
feet,
Jay
instructed
me
to
throw
myself
out
of
the
plane.
When
we
first
hit
the
air,
the
wind
was
so
strong
that
I
could
hardly
breathe.
For
a
second
I
thought,
“What
have
I
gotten
myself
into?”
But
then
everything
got
calmer.
We
were
in
a
free
fall
for
about
a
minute
before
Jay
opened
the
parachute(降落伞),
then
we
just
floated
downward
for
about
five
minutes.
Being
up
in
the
clouds
and
looking
at
the
view
below
was
unlike
anything
I
have
ever
felt—much
better
than
the
hot
air
balloon.
I
was
just
enjoying
it
Skydiving
was
really
one
of
the
greatest
experiences
of
my
life.
I
hope
other
people
will
look
at
me
and
realize
that
you
don’t
stop
living
just
because
you
are
84
years
old.
If
there’s
something
you
want
to
experience,
look
into
it.
If
it’s
something
that
is
possible,
make
it
happen.

B
In
the
fall
of
1985,
I
was
a
bright-eyed
girl
heading
off
to
Howard
University,
aiming
at
a
legal
career
and
dreaming
of
sitting
on
a
Supreme
Court
bench
somewhere.
Twenty-one
years
later
I
am
still
a
bright-eyed
dreamer
and
one
with
quite
a
different
tale
to
tell.
My
grandma,
an
amazing
woman,
graduated
from
college
at
the
age
of
65.
She
was
the
first
in
our
family
to
reach
that
goal.
But
one
year
after
I
started
college,
she
developed
cancer.
I
made
the
choice
to
withdraw
from
college
to
care
for
her.
It
meant
that
school
and
my
personal
dream
would
have
to
wait.
Then
I
got
married
with
another
dream:
building
my
family
with
a
combination
of
adopted
and
biological
children.
In
1999,
we
adopted
our
first
son.
To
lay
eyes
on
him
was
fantastic---and
very
emotional.
A
year
later
came
our
second
adopted
boy.
Then
followed
son
No.
3.
In
2003,
I
gave
birth
to
another
boy.
You
can
imagine
how
fully
occupied
I
became,
raising
four
boys
under
the
age
of
18.
Our
home
was
a
complete
zoo---a
joyous
zoo.
Not
surprising,
I
never
did
make
it
back
to
college
full-time.
But
I
never
gave
up
on
the
dream
either.
I
had
only
one
choice:
to
find
a
way.
That
meant
talking
as
few
as
one
class
each
semester.
The
hardest
part
was
feeling
guilty
about
the
time
I
spent
away
from
the
boys.
They
often
wanted
me
to
stay
home
with
them.
There
certainly
were
times
I
wanted
to
quit.
But
I
knew
I
should
set
an
example
for
them
to
follow
through
the
rest
of
their
lives.
In
2007,
I
graduated
from
the
University
of
North
Carolina.
It
took
me
over
21
years
to
get
my
college
degree!
I
am
not
special,
just
single-minded.
It
always
struck
me
that
when
you’re
looking
at
a
big
challenge
from
the
outside,
it
looks
huge,
but
when
you’re
in
the
midst
of
it,
it
just
seems
normal.
Everything
you
want
won’t
arrive
in
your
life
on
one
day.
It’s
a
process.
Remember;little
steps
add
up
to
big
dreams.

C
It
is
well
known
that
the
Japanese
people’s
love
of
fish
is
almost
as
strong
as
a
bee’s
interest
in
honey.
As
fish
populations
were
becoming
smaller
and
smaller,
fishing
companies
were
forced
to
fish
further
and
further
away
from
the
shore.
Then
they
had
a
big
challenge

how
to
keep
the
fish
fresh
for
longer.
So
they
decided
to
keep
the
fish
stored
in
freezers
on
the
boats.
But
the
public
did
not
like
frozen
fish.
So
again
the
fishing
companies
had
a
new
bigger
challenge.
What
they
decided
to
do
was
to
have
fish
tanks
on
their
boats.
After
catching
fishes,
they
would
put
them
in
the
tanks
and
keep
them
living
there
until
they
got
back
to
shore.
But
in
this
protected
environment,
lacking
predators
(掠食者),
the
fish
stopped
moving
around.
The
Japanese
public
felt
these
dull
fish
did
not
taste
fresh,
which
had
an
unpleasant
effect
upon
sales.
Once
again
the
fishing
companies
had
an
even
bigger
challenge

Stop
for
a
minute!
Before
we
go
any
further,
I
would
like
to
ask
“What
are
your
challenges?
How
do
you
handle
an
unexpected
challenge?

May
I
think
it
this
way
that
you
should
try
to
attack
your
challenges?
Conquer(征服)
them
with
a
Swiss
Army
knife.
Take
the
most
proper
and
simple
tool
that
you
can
adopt
to
deal
with
your
situation.
Now
back
to
our
story.
How
did
the
Japanese
finally
solve
the
fresh
fish
problem?
Sharks!
You
might
think
the
same.
Sharks
were
caught
and
put
into
the
tanks
with
other
fishes.
Don’t
sharks
eat
fish?
Well,
they
do
eat
a
few
fish,
but
they
did
also
keep
more
fish
active
and
alert
(警觉的).
The
fish
stay
fresh
because
they
are
challenged.
Now,
try
to
keep
yourself
fresh
by
finding
your
own
shark
to
offer
yourself
a
challenge
in
your
own
business
and
career.

Many
teachers
say
that
they
don’t
often
receive
information
from
parents
about
problems
at
home.
Many
parents
say
they
don’t
know
what
the
school
expects
from
their
children
or
from
them.
Sharing
information
is
essential
and
both
teachers
and
parents
are
responsible
for
making
it
happen.
Here
are
some
tips
for
parents
to
contact
teachers.
Learn
everything
that
you
can
about
your
child’s
school.
The
more
you
know,
the
easier
your
job
as
a
parent
will
be.
Ask
for
a
school
handbook.
This
will
answer
many
questions
that
will
arise
over
the
year.
If
the
school
doesn’t
have
a
handbook,
ask
questions.
Ask
the
teachers,
for
example:
what
classes
does
the
school
offer?
What
are
the
school’s
rules
and
regulations(规章制度)?
Ask
about
teaching
methods
and
material:
Are
the
methods
based
on
evidence
of
what
works
best
in
teaching
reading
or
math?
Are
the
science
and
history
textbooks
up
to
date?
Ask
if
the
school
has
a
website
and,
if
so,
get
the
address.
School
websites
can
provide
you
with
ready
access
to
all
kinds
of
information:
schedules
of
events,
names
of
people
to
contact,
rules
and
regulations,
and
so
on.
Keep
informed
throughout
the
school
year.
If
your
schedule
permits,
attend
teacher-parent
meetings
held
by
the
school.
If
you
can’t
attend
the
meeting,
ask
other
parents
about
the
content
of
the
meeting.
Or,
find
it
out
on
the
school’s
website.
Contact(联系)
teachers
early
and
often.
Contact
your
child’s
teachers
at
the
beginning
of
the
year
or
as
soon
as
you
can.
Tell
teachers
what
they
need
to
know
about
your
child.
If
she
has
special
needs,
make
these
known
from
the
beginning.
If
you
notice
a
big
change
in
your
child’s
behavior,
school
performance
or
attitude
during
the
school
year,
contact
the
teacher
immediately.
