Hannah
Kennedy
wakes
up
in
the
morning,
turns
to
Alexa
—
a
smart
speaker
—
and
asks,
“What's
the
weather
like
today?
What
are
the
traffic
conditions?”
She
leaves
for
work,
checking
an
app
on
her
phone
that
warns
her
if
any
doors
or
windows
have
been
left
open
at
home.
She
looks
at
the
app
during
the
day
to
watch
the
thermostat
(恒温器).
At
the
supermarket,
she
checks
to
see
if
she
has
enough
milk,
via
(通过)
the
fridge's
in-built
camera.
Kennedy
is
living
in
Reynolds
Landing.
It
is
a
neighborhood
of
62
smart
homes
developed
by
Alabama
Power
on
the
outskirts
(市郊)
of
Birmingham,
Alabama.
It
is
part
of
an
experiment
by
the
company
to
imagine
how
homes
will
look
in
2040.
“What
we've
done
here
is
to
create
some
very
efficient
homes
and
connect
them
up.
And
we're
trying
to
understand
how
we're
serving
those
customers
in
the
future,”
says
Todd
Rath,
Alabama
Power's
marketing
director.
The
houses
are
equipped
with
a
smart
home
system,
so
the
homeowner
can
control
almost
everything
from
a
large
distance:
from
room
temperature
to
opening
the
door
and
switching
on
the
oven.
When
buying
a
home,
homeowners
agreed
to
share
data
on
energy
usage
with
Alabama
Power.
And
they
meet
researchers
monthly
to
discuss
their
experience
and
likes
and
dislikes.
“Each
of
the
homeowners
is
part
of
this
research
project,
and
we
call
it
the
living
lab,”
says
Rath.
But
smart
products
could
make
homeowners
less
secure.
A
2019
report
by
Avast,
a
cybersecurity
software
company,
found
that
40%
of
smart
homes
worldwide
had
at
least
one
piece
of
equipment
that
could
be
easily
attacked
through
the
Internet.
“Such
smart
equipment
will
put
its
users
in
danger,”
says
Nick
Lange,
an
expert
at
green
energy
company
VEIC.
“But
I
think
the
benefits
outweigh
the
risk,”
he
adds.
In
the
next
twenty
years,
both
smart
home
technologies
and
security
software
will
be
highly
advanced.
“I
can
say
almost
certainly
that
future
homes
will
perform
well
enough,”
he
says.

Climate
forecast
for
2050:
cold
London
will
be
hot
and
dry
like
Barcelona,
wet
Seattle
will
be
like
drier
San
Francisco,
and
Washington
D.?C.
will
be
more
like
today's
Nashville
but
with
even
greater
changes
in
temperatures.
“We
wanted
to
know
what
the
climate
will
be
for
520
major
cities
in
2050,”
said
Tom
Crowther,
a
researcher
at
ETH
Zürich.
To
show
their
findings
the
Crowther
Lab
in
Switzerland
created
a
map
that
pairs
one
city's
future
climate
conditions
with
current
ones.
For
example,
Minneapolis
in
2050
will
be
more
like
Kansas
City,
with
Minneapolis's
warmest
month
shooting
up
from
around
80
degrees
Fahrenheit
on
average
to
more
than
90°?F
in
2050.
Generally
speaking,
cities
in
the
northern
half
of
the
earth
will
have
the
climates
cities
more
than
620
miles
to
their
south
have
today,
he
said.
There
are
no
good
pairings
for
more
than
22
percent
of
the
world's
major
cities
—
those
with
one
million
or
more
people
now,
researchers
found.
Those
115
cities,
including
Washington
and
16
other
U.S.
cities,
will
have
unprecedented
(前所未有的)
climate
conditions
by
2050
compared
to
what
they
saw
in
2000,
the
baseline
for
the
study.
That
doesn't
mean
that
Washington
will
be
hotter
than
Riyadh,
Saudi
Arabia,
today.
It
means
that
there
is
no
current
match
for
the
wide
climate
changes
in
temperatures
and
rainfall
the
city
will
experience,
said
Crowther.
Most
of
the
115
cities
that
will
experience
“novel”
climates
are
in
the
tropics
(热带地区)
and
include
cities
like
Kuala
Lumpur,
Jakarta,
Rangoon,
and
Singapore.
Changes
in
tropical
cities
will
be
less
in
terms
of
temperature
increases,
but
will
have
more
rain.
The
study
talked
about
climate
in
ways
that
will
be
more
meaningful
to
the
public
and
city
planners.
Knowing
that
London's
climate
will
be
like
Barcelona's
—
which
has
experienced
serious
droughts
requiring
$25
million
to
buy
drinking
water
from
other
countries
in
2008
—
can
help
planners
prepare
for
what's
coming.
24.
What
will
Seattle's
climate
be
like
in
2050?
A.
It
will
be
less
wet.
B.
It
will
be
cold
but
dry.
C.
It
will
be
drier
than
today's
San
Francisco.
D.
It
will
be
the
same
as
today's
Washington
D.C.
25.
What
is
the
Crowther
Lab
trying
to
do?
A.
To
mark
520
major
cities
on
a
map.
B.
To
show
a
city's
future
climate
using
a
current
city.
C.
To
put
today's
cities
with
similar
climates
in
pairs.
D.?To
compare
the
northern
half
of
the
earth
with
the
southern
half.
26.
Which
city's
temperature
will
change
less
from
now
to
2050?
A.
Jakarta.
???????????????????????????????
B.
Riyadh.
???
C.
Minneapolis.
????????????????????????
D.
Kansas
City.
27.
What's
the
importance
of
the
study?
A.
Get
city
planners
to
think
ahead.
B.
Help
Barcelona
out
of
difficulty.
C.
Make
the
public
realize
the
danger.
D.
Stop
London's
situation
from
getting
worse.
C
Recently,
I
read
about
a
promotion
from
a
home
builder
in
San
Diego
where
consumers
(消费者)
could
buy
a
4,?000
square
foot
house
for
$1.6
million
and
get
a
smaller
home
by
the
developer
valued
at
$400
thousand
for
free.
This
sounds
like
a
fantastic
deal,
but
I
am
always
wary
of
any
promotion
labeled
(给……加标签)
with
“buy
one
get
one
free”,
and
here
is
why.
Oftentimes,
“buy
one
get
one
free”
ends
up
being
“buy
two
at
the
regular
price”.
For
example,
I
often
see
“buy
one
get
one
free”
ads
for
orange
juice
at
the
supermarket,
but
the
first
box
always
costs
over
$5.00.
At
the
same
time,
the
juices
not
in
the
promotion
are
selling
for
$2.50
to
$2.99
a
box.
Another
problem
with
“buy
one
get
one
free”
is
that
oftentimes
you
do
not
need
the
second
item.
I
only
consume
one
gallon
of
milk
every
two
weeks.
If
I
were
talked
into
buying
a
second
gallon
in
a
“buy
one
get
one
free”
promotion,
then
the
second
gallon
would
go
bad
before
I
have
time
to
consume
it.
That
creates
waste
instead
of
savings.
In
the
case
of
the
San
Diego
developer,
so
far
they
have
received
one
offer
on
their
expensive
houses,
but
the
buyer
does
not
want
the
cheaper
house
for
free.
Instead,
he
wants
the
value
of
the
smaller
home
taken
away
from
his
purchase
(购买)
price.
I
think
this
guy
is
quite
wise
because
he
saw
right
through
the
marketing
of
“buy
one
get
one
free”.
Finally,
it
is
up
to
you
to
see
how
much
you
need
and
how
much
you
are
willing
to
spend.
Knowing
the
regular
price
of
things
also
helps
you
in
deciding
whether
a
“buy
one
get
one
free”
promotion
is
truly
a
great
deal.
28.?What
does
the
underlined
part
“wary
of”
in
Paragraph
1
probably
mean?
A.
Angry
at.
?????????????????????????????
B.
Careful
about.
C.
Familiar
with.
??????????????????????
D.
Interested
in.
29.
Why
does
the
author
mention
milk
in
Paragraph
3?
A.
To
show
that
there
are
many
promotions
of
food.
B.
To
suggest
that
people
think
twice
before
they
shop.
C.
To
prove
that
the
second
item
isn't
always
as
good
as
the
first
one.
D.
To
show
that
people
often
buy
more
than
they
need
in
the
promotion.
30.
What
does
the
house
buyer
want
to
do?
A.
Buy
the
smaller
house
only.
B.
Get
the
smaller
house
for
free.
C.
Buy
the
larger
house
for
$1.2
million.
D.
Buy
both
the
larger
and
smaller
houses
for
$2
million.

2050
seems
a
long
way
away,
but
it
is
not
impossible
to
predict
the
future
though.
With
the
speed
we
are
moving
now
so
many
amazing
things
are
going
to
happen
in
the
future.
?31
?Let's
start
our
predictions.
·The
Internet
will
be
free
for
everyone.
The
Internet
is
really
a
key
driver
these
days.
?32
?There
have
already
been
attempts
like
Facebook's
Free
Basics.
Though
it
hasn't
happened
yet,
there
is
a
very
strong
possibility
that
the
Internet
will
be
free
for
everyone
in
the
future.
·
33?
With
the
increasing
population,
it
is
not
very
hard
to
predict
that
common
methods
of
transportation
will
not
be
enough.
There
will
be
much
heavier
traffic
on
the
road.
So
in
this
case
personal
airplanes
will
be
a
handy
method
of
transportation
for
common
people.
Of
course,
there
will
be
proper
air
traffic
control
for
these
personal
airplanes.
·Most
cancers
will
be
treated
successfully.
?34
?It
will
be
a
huge
achievement
in
the
history
of
medical
science.
Many
studies
are
already
showing
a
trend
(趋势)
towards
this.
·Humans
will
live
on
other
planets.
There
will
be
great
achievements
in
space
research.
?35
?
We
will
receive
more
intelligent
signals
from
space.
Chances
are
we
will
be
able
to
find
the
next
Earth-like
planet.
A.
But
it
is
not
free
for
everyone
yet.
B.
So
where
is
technology
going
in
the
future?
C.
The
world's
population
will
cross
9.6
billion.
D.
What
do
you
think
of
my
predictions
of
2050?
E.
In
the
year
2050,
humans
will
be
able
to
live
on
Mars.
F.
Personal
airplanes
will
be
used
widely
for
short
journeys.
G.
The
number
of
deaths
caused
by
cancers
will
be
greatly
reduced.

第二节
概要写作(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要。
Many
parents
are
careful
about
their
kids'
use
of
electronic
devices
and
set
strict
limits
for
them.
Of
course,
they
want
to
protect
their
children
from
the
harmful
influences
of
too
much
screen
time,
as
well
as
other
possible
dangers
they
can
face
on
apps.
But
there's
another
device-related
danger
that
parents
may
be
completely
ignoring
—
second-hand
screen
time.
With
second-hand
screen
time,
kids
are
indirectly
exposed
(暴露)
to
screens
being
used
by
someone
else
close
to
them.
It
might
be
hurting
kids
just
as
much
as
traditional
screen
time.
According
to
research,
watching
parents
use
devices
frequently
from
a
very
young
age
can
make
kids
addicted
to
devices
as
they
grow.
Also,
children
are
likely
to
show
more
acting-out
behaviors
when
parents
spend
too
much
time
on
their
devices.
Often,
this
is
the
only
way
kids
can
get
a
parent's
attention.
Spending
too
much
time
on
electronic
devices,
especially
in
the
presence
of
a
child,
also
sends
the
message
that
the
device
and
activities
on
it
are
more
important
than
the
child.
This
can
lead
to
a
breakdown
in
the
parent-child
relationship,
as
well
as
other
problems
for
the
child.
This
doesn't
mean
that
parents
should
never
use
devices
when
a
child
is
present.
It
does
mean
that
parents
need
to
set
limits
on
their
own
screen
time,
just
as
they
would
for
their
children.
For
adults,
devices
are
often
a
necessary
part
of
people's
work,
as
well
as
personal
tasks
and
activities.
While
cutting
down
on
their
screen
time
may
not
be
easy,
it
is
worth
the
effort.
There
are
manageable
steps
parents
can
take
now
to
get
started.
One
of
the
simplest
is
establishing
certain
times
and
places
where
devices
won't
be
used.
For
example,
device-free
mealtimes
are
important
for
many
reasons,
and
this
is
an
easy
way
to
limit
use.
Other
ideas
include
not
using
devices
in
the
restroom,
when
having
a
conversation
with
someone,
or
when
playing
games
with
the
kids.

主题语境:人与自然——自然生态
本文是说明文。文章介绍了对于2050年世界范围内的气候变化的预测。
24.
A。细节理解题。由第一段中的wet

C篇
主题语境:人与社会——社会
本文是议论文。“买一赠一”是商家常用的促销活动。这种活动对消费者来说是不是划算呢?
28.
B。词义猜测题。划线部分所在的分句和上文中的This
sounds
like
a
fantastic
deal是转折关系,因此可推断,作者对“买一赠一”的促销活动可能不赞成;且在第二和第三段,作者分析了这类促销活动的问题;在最后一段,作者提出,针对参与“买一赠一”活动的商品,人们要对比常规价格,结合自己的需求和实际购买力做决定。因此可推断,作者对这类促销活动是很警惕的。
29.
D。推理判断题。作者在第三段举购买牛奶的例子是为了支持本段的主旨句,即第一句——人们常常因为“买一赠一”的活动而买了超过自身需求量的商品。
30.
C。细节理解题。由第四段中的the
buyer
does
not
want
the
cheaper
house
for
free.
Instead,
he
wants
the
value
of
the
smaller
home
taken

from
his
purchase
price和第一段中的consumers
could
buy
a
4,?000
square
foot
house
for
$1.6
million
and
get
a
smaller
home
by
the
developer
valued
at
$400

52.
A。微波炉发出声音提醒你食物“好了(ready)”。
53.
B。本句和下文所描述的是Amber“想象(imagines)”的未来生活的画面。
54.
C。由本句中的turn
down
the
heat可知,此处表示我们不在家时,leave符合语境。
55.
D。由本句中的by
turning
on
the
lights,
setting
the
heater
to
a
comfortable
temperature,
and

even
starting
to
prepare
our
dinner可知,我们一进家门,房子就会作出回应,故选D项。

unique
design
