At
the
age
of
14,
James
Harrison
had
a
major
chest
operation
and
he
required
13
units
(3.4
gallons)
of
blood
afterwards.
The
blood
donations
saved
his
life,
and
he
decided
that
once
he
turned
18,
he
would
begin
donating
blood
as
regularly
as
he
could.
More
than
60
years
and
almost
1,200
donations
later,
Harrison,
whose
blood
contains
an
antibody
(抗体)
that
has
saved
the
lives
of
2.4
million
babies
from
miscarriages
(流产),
retired
as
a
blood
donor
on
May
11.
Harrison’s
blood
is
valuable
because
he
naturally
produces
Rh-negative
blood,
which
contains
Rh-positive
antibodies.
His
blood
has
been
used
to
create
anti-D
in
Australia
since
1967.
“Every
bottle
of
Anti-D
ever
made
in
Australia
has
James
in
it,”
Robyn
Barlow,
the
Rh
program
director
told
the
Sydney
Morning
Herald.
“It’s
an
amazing
thing.
He
has
saved
millions
of
babies.
I
cry
just
thinking
about
it.”
Since
then,
Harrison
has
donated
between
500
and
800
milliliters
of
blood
almost
every
week.
He’s
made
1,162
donations
from
his
right
arm
and
10
from
his
left.
“I’d
keep
going
if
they
let
me,”
Harrison
told
the
Herald.
His
doctors
said
it
was
time
to
stop
the
donations

and
they
certainly
don’t
take
them
lightly.
They
had
already
extended
the
age
limit
for
blood
donations
for
him,
and
they’re
cutting
him
off
now
to
protect
his
health.
He
made
his
final
donation
surrounded
by
some
of
the
mothers
and
babies
who
his
blood
helped
save.
Harrison’s
retirement
is
a
blow
to
the
Rh
treatment
program
in
Australia.
Only
160
donors
support
the
program,
and
finding
new
donors
has
proven
to
be
difficult.
But
Harrison’s
retirement
from
giving
blood
doesn’t
mean
he’s
completely
out
of
the
game.
Scientists
are
collecting
and
cataloging
his
DNA
to
create
a
library
of
antibodies
and
white
blood
cells
that
could
be
the
future
of
the
anti-D
program
in
Australia.
4.What
do
we
know
about
James
Harrison?
A.He
saved
2.4
million
poor
people.
B.He
is
to
retire
as
a
blood
donor.
C.He
is
a
very
grateful
blood
donor.
D.He
donates
blood
nearly
every
day.
5.What
is
the
author’s
purpose
of
writing
Paragraph
4?
A.To
state
Harrison’s
decision
to
continue
donating
blood.
B.To
describe
how
Harrison’s
donations
come
to
an
end.
C.To

some
babies
saved
by
Harrison’s
blood.
D.To

Harrison
for
his
cooperation
with
the

6.What
can
we
infer
from
the
passage
about
Harrison?

his
retirement,
the
Rh
program
will
fail.

Professor
Ashok
Goel
of
Georgia
Tech
developed
an
artificially
intelligent
teaching
assistant
to
help
handle
the
enormous
number
of
student
questions
in
the
online
class,
Knowledge-Based
Artificial
Intelligence.
This
online
course
is
a
core
requirement
of
Georgia
Tech's
online
Master
of
Science
in
Computer
Science
program.
Professor
Goel
already
had
eight
teaching
assistants,
but
that
wasn't
enough
to
deal
with
the
overwhelming
number
of
daily
questions
from
students.
Goel
and
his
team
developed
several
versions
of
a
virtual
assistant
named
Jill
Watson
before
releasing
her
to
the
online
forums.
At
first,
the
virtual
assistant
wasn't
too
great.
Then
they
began
to
feed
Jill
with
the
questions
and
answers.
After
some
adjustments
and
sufficient
time,
Jill
was
able
to
answer
the
students'
questions
correctly
97%
of
the
time.
The
virtual
assistant
became
so
advanced
and
realistic
that
the
students
didn't
know
she
was
a
computer.
The
students,
who
were
studying
artificial
intelligence,
were
interacting
with
the
virtual
assistant
and
couldn't
tell
it
apart
from
a
real
human
being.
Goel
didn't
inform
them
about
Jill's
true
identity
until
April
26.
The
students
were
actually
very
positive
about
the
experience.
The
goal
of
Professor
Goel's
virtual
assistant
next
year
is
to
take
over
answering
40%
of
all
the
questions
posed
by
students
on
the
online
forum.
The
name
Jill
Watson
will,
of
course,
change
to
something
else
next
semester.
Professor
Goel
has
a
much
rosier
outlook
on
the
future
of
artificial
intelligence
than,
say,
Elon
Musk,
Stephen
Hawking,
Bill
Gates
or
Steve
Wozniak.
8.What
do
we
learn
about
Knowledge-Based
Artificial
Intelligence?
A.It
is
a
robot
that
can
answer
students'
questions.
B.It
is
a
computer
program
that
aids
student
learning.
C.It
is
a
course
designed
for
students
to
learn
online.
D.It
is
a
high-tech
device
that
revolutionizes
teaching.
9.Which
of
the
following
statements
is
TRUE
about
Jill
Watson?
A.She
was
released
online
as
an
experiment.
B.She
got
along
pretty
well
with
students.
C.She
was
unwelcome
to
students
at
first.
D.She
turned
out
to
be
a
great
success.
10.How
did
the
students
feel
about
Jill
Watson?
A.They
thought
she
was
a
bit
too
artificial.
B.They
could
not
tell
her
from
a
real
person.
C.They
could
not
but
admire
her
knowledge.
D.They
found
her
not
as
capable
as
expected.
11.What
does
Professor
Goel
plan
to
do
next
with
Jill
Watson?
A.Launch
different
versions
of
her
online.
B.Feed
her
with
new
questions
and
answers.
C.Assign
her
to
answer
more
of
students'
questions.
D.Encourage
students
to
interact
with
her
more
freely.

On
Tuesday,
Chinese
health
authorities
confirmed
the
sixth
death
from
the
coronavirus
which
shares
genetic
similarities
with
the
one
responsible
for
severe
acute
respiratory
syndrome,
and
revealed
that
15
medical
workers
in
Wuhan
had
been
infected,
with
one
in
a
critical
condition.
The
number
of
people
known
to
be
infected
continues
to
rise
with
new
cases
still
being
reported.
With
the
head
of
the
Chinese
government
expert
team
saying
on
Monday
that
human-to-human
transmission
has
been
confirmed
and
the
Spring
Festival
travel
rush
under
way,
in
which
hundreds
of
millions
of
people
will
be
crisscrossing
the
country
and
traveling
overseas
for
the
holiday,
it
is
widely
expected
that
more
cases,
and
even
deaths,
will
be
reported
in
the
days
to
come.
The
new
coronavirus
has
already
been
classified
in
the
same
category
as
the
SARS
outbreak,
meaning
compulsory
isolation
for
those
diagnosed
with
the
disease
and
the
potential
to
implement
quarantine
measures
on
travel,
which
shows
that
the
authorities
are
prepared
and
resolved
to
safeguard
people's
health.
The
World
Health
Organization
has
so
far
given
a
thumbs-up
to
Chinese
efforts.
It
said
earlier
this
month
that
it
was
"reassured
of
the
quality
of
the
ongoing
investigations
and
the
response
measures
implemented
in
Wuhan,
as
well
as
the
commitment
to
share
information
regularly".
The
coronavirus
has
so
far
spread
to
three
other
Asian
countries,
which
indicates
the
urgency
for
medical
scientists
all
over
the
world
to
work
together
against
the
common
threat
to
human
health.
Epidemics
know
no
borders
and
a
local
disease
could
easily
morph
into
a
global
crisis,
which
is
why
the
WHO
is
holding
an
emergency
committee
meeting
on
Wednesday
to
decide
whether
to
declare
an
international
public
health
emergency.
The
speed
of
response
is
testimony
to
improved
global
preparedness
for
such
epidemics.
Now
concerted
efforts
based
on
the
experience
accumulated
by
Chinese
health
experts
and
their
foreign
counterparts
during
the
joint
fights
against
such
epidemics
as
SARS,
swine
flu
and
avian
flu
are
needed
to
win
the
fight
against
the
latest
health
hazard.
12.What
do
we
know
about
the
coronavirus
according
to
the
passage?
A.It
is
the
same
virus
that
led
to
SARA.
B.The
Spring
Festival
travel
rush
will
not
worsen
the
control
of
the
virus.
C.Whether
it
can
be
transmitted
from
person
to
person
is
still
not
known.
D.Carriers
diagnosed
with
the
virus
should
be
quarantined.
13.What
does
the
underlined
word
“morph”
in
Paragraph
5
mean?
A.Translate.
B.Crash.
C.Change.
D.Divide.
14.What
is
the
WHO’s
attitude
towards
the
efforts
made
by
China?
A.Dissatisfactory.
B.Favorable.
C.Pessimistic.
D.Unpredictable.
15.What
is
the
main
idea
of
the
last
two
paragraphs?
A.The
entire
world
is
now
being
threatened
with
coronavirus.
B.The
speed
of
response
and
preparation
for
emergency
should
be
largely
improved.
C.More
experienced
experts
are
needed
to
ensure
the
victory
of
the
battle
against
the
virus.
D.Combined
efforts
from
home
and
abroad
should
be
made
to
fight
against
the
epidemics.

How
to
Increase
Walking
Stamina
(耐力)
If
you’ve
decided
you
want
to
improve
your
fitness,
walking
is
a
good
choice.
It’s
free,
simple,
and
adaptable
to
your
schedule.
16.
If
you
don’t
have
the
patience
for
that,
there
are
a
few
other
tricks
you
can
try
to
help
you
reach
your
goals
faster.
●Walk
for
at
least
30
minutes
3
to
5
days
a
week.
Going
for
regular
walks
improve
your
cardiovascular
(心血管的)
fitness
gradually,
but
don’t
sweat
it
if
you
can’t
walk
this
long
initially.
17.
●Go
on
a
longer
walk
at
least
one
day
a
week.
Plan
a
longer
walk
for
at
least
one
of
your
sessions
so
you
can
gradually
push
your
endurance.
When
you
first
start,
the
distance
will
likely
be
relatively
short.
18.Don’t
worry
about
where
you
start
-
just
focus
on
improving
a
little
each
week.
●Walk
at
a
brisk
pace
of
about
3
miles(4.8km)
per
hour.
This
pace
is
faster
than
a
stroll,
but
likely
not
the
fastest
you
can
walk.
19.
There
are
some
smart
phone
apps,
such
as
PaceDJ
and
RockMyRun,
that
will
help
you
plan
your
playlist
to
include
songs
with
the
correct
numbers
of
beats
per
minute
to
keep
you
on
pace.
●20.
If
you
only
have
a
short
period
of
time
to
walk,
add
resistance
to
work
on
your
stamina.
You
can
buy
ankle
and
wrist
weights
at
sporting
goods
or
department
stores
(or
online),
but
this
type
of
equipment
isn’t
strictly
necessary.
You
can
also
simply
put
a
few
books
or
solid
objects
in
a
backpack
and
carry
that.
After
you’ve
been
walking
with
weight
for
a
few
weeks,
try
walking
without
the
weight
and
see
how
much
further
you
can
go.
A.Carry
weight
while
walking.
B.However,
as
you
progress,
the
distance
will
grow.
C.Listening
to
music
while
you
walk
can
help
you
keep
the
pace.
D.Over
time,
you
body
will
get
used
to
a
certain
level
of
activity.
E.Keep
track
of
the
amount
of
weight
you’re
carrying
so
you
can
increase
it.
F.If
you
download
a
step
app
for
your
smart
phone,
it
will
help
you
keep
pace.
G.If
you
walk
a
little
further
every
day,
your
walking
stamina
gradually
improves.

Harrison是个非常感恩的献血者。故选C。
5.B

Harrison’s
retirement
from
giving
blood
doesn’t
mean
he’s

【分析】
本文是一篇记叙文,介绍了在时代变迁中,一个中国人及其家人的生活所发生的变化。
41.unwilling
考查固定结构。句意:通常中国人的故乡意识很浓,不愿意迁徙到别的地方去。固定结构:be
willing
to
do
sth.“愿意做某事”;be
unwilling
to
do
sth.“不愿意做某事”。结合句意。故填unwilling。
42.graduates
考查动名词。句意:然而,在当今时代,特别是改革开放以后,越来越多的人想要像我的家人一样在更发达的城市定居下来。固定搭配:
fancy
doing
sth.想要做某事。故填settling。
43.考查名词复数。句意:1963年,那个时候大学毕业生是由政府包分配的,我父亲在北京找到了一份工作。根据谓语were
assigned可知,主语为复数,此处用名词复数表示“泛指”。故填graduates。
44.was
filled
考查一般过去时态的被动语态。句意:20世纪80年代,中国社会充满希望,人们为实现梦想而努力工作。根据句意可知,时态应为一般过去时,且be
filled
with意为“充满”为固定短语。故填was
filled。
45.to/into
考查介词。句意:1988年考入中国人民大学。固定搭配:
be
admitted
to/into被……录取。故填to/into。
46.to
travel
考查动词不定式。句意:从新疆到北京,我坐了72个小时的火车,行程3770多公里。固定句型:It
takes
sb.
some
time
to
do
sth.“做某事花费某人多长时间”,句中动词不定式作真正的主语,it作形式主语。故填to
travel。
47.a
考查冠词。句意:从新疆到北京,我坐了72个小时的火车,行程3770多公里。固定搭配:
with
a
distance
of
...距离为……。故填a。
48.Where

where引导非限制性定语从句,先行词Guangzhou在句中作地点状语。故填where。
49.improved

①?考查动词的时态。根据时间状语month可知,谓语动词应用一般过去时。

考查介词。时间状语以last开头时,其前不能加介词。
③?考查冠词。名词introduction以元音音素开头,其前应用不定冠词a。
④?考査省略句。当时间状语从句的主语和主句主语一致,且从句中含有be动词时,可将从句的主语和be动词一起省略,即“While
(we
were)
listening,
we
made
some
notes
carefully"。

考査形容词。feel是系动词.其后接形容词作表语,故应将副词excitedly
改为
excited。
⑥?考查代词。根据全文第一句可知,both(两者都)不符合文意,应改为all表示“三者或三者以上都”。
⑦?考查名词。photo是可数名词,“很多照片”要用a
lot
of
photos。
⑧?考査非谓语动词。表示“决定做某事”时,decide后跟不定式作宾语,
因此在have前添加to。
⑨?考查宾语。从句句意:第二天我们决定举行一个班会,把我们看到的东西呈现出来此处应由what引导从句作present的宾语,且what在从句中作had
seen的宾语。
⑩考査非谓语动词。在动词短语devote
oneself
to中.to是介词跟动名词作宾语。
