I
walked
into
the
Huddle
House
Restaurant
in
Brunswick,
Georgia
and
sat
down
at
the
table.
I
picked
up
the
menu
and
was
to
order
something
for
breakfast.
“Excuse
me,”
I
looked
up
and
16
a
nice-looking
woman
standing
before
me.
“Is
your
name
Roger ”
17
asked.
“Yes,”
I
answered,
feeling
rather
confused
as
I
had
never
seen
her
before.
“My
name’s
Barbara
and
my
18
is
Tony,”
she
he
said,
pointing
to
a
middle-aged
man
sitting
alone
at
the
table
by
the
window.
He
was
19
and
weak.
“Tony
White,
from
Landon
School
in
Jacksonville,
Florida ”
She
added(补充说).
I
looked
at
that
man
for
a
few
seconds,
20
I
didn’t
recognize
him.
“I’m
really
sorry.
The
name
doesn’t
ring
the
bell.

I
said.
She
walked
back,
began
21
with
her
husband
and
once
in
a
while
I
saw
her
turn
around
and
look
directly
at
me.
I
ordered
breakfast
and
a
cup
of
22
,
sitting
there,
trying
to
remember
who
this
Tony
was.
“I
23
know
him,”
I
thought
to
myself.
“He
recognizes
me
for
some
reason.”
I
picked
up
the
coffee
cup.
All
of
a
sudden,
it
came
to
me
like
a
flash
of
lightning.
“Tony,
the
bully,
the
bad
boy!”
I
could
24
believe
my
eyes.
“Jesus!
He
is
so
thin
now.
Not
the
big
boy
that
I
25
from
back
in
1977.”
Everything
came
up
to
my
mind.
The
time
this
26
boy
had
made
fun
of
my
big
ears
in
front
of
the
girls
in
my
class,
and
the
time
this
big
bully
had
pushed
me
against
the
walls
in
the
hallway
just
to
make
himself
27
a
big
man
to
all
other
students.
“I
am
sorry,
Roger,

Tony
rolled
by
me
in
the
wheelchair(轮椅),
being
pushed
by
his
wife,
raising
his
thin
trembling
hand.
“I
am
so
sorry
for
28
that
I
did
to
you.”
“I’m…I’m
er…”
I
didn’t
know
29
to
say
to
him.
After
a
few
months
later,
I
received
a
letter
from
Barbara.
Tony
was
30
.
Tony
had
been
a
fireman
and
had
been
seriously
wounded
in
a
task.
How
I
regretted
for
not
saying
something
to
him
but
I
no
longer
had
the
chance!

三.阅读理解(10

A
Dear
Linda,
I’ve
got
your
letter.
I
know
that
you
want
to
have
your
own
club,
but
you
don’t
know
how
to
start
one.
Do
you
know
how
to
make
a
successful
club,
such
as
an
English
Club
or
a
Basketball
Club
Here
is
some
advice.
◆Decide
what
kind
of
club
to
have,
and
come
up
with
a
nice
name.
Since
you
are
interested
in
music,
why
not
start
a
Music
Club
A
club
is
to
bring
people
with
common
interests
together.
◆Look
for
members.
You
can
start
with
your
friends,
but
it
isn’t
really
a
club
until
people
you
don’t
know
want
to
join
it.

___▲___
Get
together
with
the
members
and
agree
on
rules.
Make
sure
that
if
someone
breaks
any
rules,
he
or
she
should
be
punished.
◆Have
regular
meetings.
For
the
first
time,
you
should
make
sure
that
all
the
members
attend.
Call
the
members
to
remind
them
of
it,
and
use
the
meeting
to
organize
future
meetings
and
other
activities.
I
hope
that
these
ideas
may
help
you
and
that
you
can
have
your
own
club
soon.
Yours,
Mrs
Smith

Here

a
story
about

On

The

It
asked
students

The

stood
out.
Alex

He

Alex
wrote
about
why
he
chose
Perseverance,
ending
his

with
these
words:
"We
are
a
species
of
explorers,
and
we
will
meet
many
difficulties
on
the
way
to
Mars.
However,
we-not
as
a
nation
but
as
humans—will
not
give
up.
The
human
race
will
always
persevere
into
the
future,"
he
wrote.
Alex
said
he
hopes
to
become
an
astronaut
himself
when
he
grows
up.
But
if
not,
he’ll
try
to
work
for
NASA
as
an
engineer.
He
said
at
a
press
conference
announcing
the
new
name.

Over
20
million
years
ago,
the
Baiji
River
Dolphin(海豚)
left
the
sea,
swam
up
the
Changjiang
and
has
lived
there
from
then
on.
They
have
smaller
eyes
than
other
dolphins
because
the
Changjiang
has
many
small
pieces
of
earth
in
it.
Small
size
can
protect(保护)
their
eyes.
Because
they
have
such
small
eyes,
they
can’t
use
their
eyes
to
find
food.
Instead(代替),
this
dolphin
uses
echolocation(回声)
which
is
sound
waves(音波).
They
hit
something
and
go
back
to
the
dolphin
to
show
it
where
the
food
is.
This
is
one
reason
that
makes
this
dolphin
so
unusual.
About
200
B.C.,
there
were
some
stories
that
told
about
dolphins
in
the
Changjiang
River.
But
today,
not
many
people
see
the
dolphins.
Their
population(数量)
has
gone
from
thousands
to
about
150.
Scientists(科学家)
say
that
the
dolphin
population
has
gone
down
because
the
population
of
the
people
living
on
the
Changjiang
has
increased(增加).
They
also
say
that
the
new
dam
(水坝)
on
the
river
is
also
making
the
dolphin
die
because
it
doesn’t
have
enough
of
the
river
now
to
find
food
in.
61.
Do
the
Baiji
River
dophins
live
in
the
sea
or
in
Changjiang
now

Good

Today
I’ll
give
a
talk
about
going

We
know
that
there
are
too
many
net
bars
around
us.
The
Internet
can
make
our
lives
interesting
and
enjoyable(令人愉快的).
Many
of
us
like
going
online
very
much
because
we
can
learn
how
to
use
the
computer.
We
can
learn
English
and
read
some
newspapers
and
magazines
to
know
more
around
us.
It
can
make
us
clever
in
playing
computer
games.
Also
when
we
can

our

can
get

It

But
some

much

games

stay
in
the
net
bars
all
day
and
all
night.
Some
girls
even
get
to
have
boyfriends
or
some
boys
get
to
have
girlfriends
online.
They
write
too
many
letters
to
each
other.
It
takes
them
too
much
time
to
chat
online
so
they
do
worse
in
their
lessons
and
they
don’t
study
well
any
more.
I
think
we
mustn’t
get
online
when
it
is
time
for
us
to
study.
We
can
do
it
in
summer
or
winter
holidays.
I
think
we
should
get
online
with
our
teachers
or
parents.
At
the
same
time,
if
we
have
lots
of
free
time,
we
can
do
some
activities
after
school.
We
usually
have
activities
from
4:50
to
5:50
in
the
afternoon.
You
can
play
basketball
or
football.
We
also
have
some
interest
groups
in
school,
such
as
drawing,
singing
and
dancing.
We
can
go
to
the
English
corner
on
Monday
afternoon.
We
hope
we
can
spend
more
time
on
our
subjects
or
on
such
activities
that
we
can
learn
a
lot
from
and
less
time
on
the
Internet.
