People are not unfamiliar with Guo Jingjing, known as “the Queen of Diving” in China. She has won more Olympic medals than any other female diver and has won the 3m springboard event at five consecutive World Championships. She started training in competitive diving in 1988, and was selected to dive for the Chinese national team in 1992.
Read the introduction of Guo Jingjing. Pay attention to the words and phrases in red.
Guo first competed at the Olympics in 1996. After the 2004 Summer Olympics, Guo became a Chinese national sports figure in the public eye. Guo is the leading member of the Chinese national women's diving team.
Therefore, some people say Guo is the image representative of the Chinese national team and her success is a cornerstone of the Chinese diving team’s status in the world. Yor can get more information trough her blog.
