三、阅读理解
A
After
years
of
research
and
testing,the
hybrid
car
was
developed
and
put
on
the
market.It’s
an
interesting
and
exciting
new
improvement
in
today’s
world
as
we
look
for
better
ways
to
protect
the
quality
of
the
air
we
breathe
and
conserve
our
natural
resources.
The
quality
of
our
air
is
affected
by
many
different
things.But
one
of
the
largest
sources
of
air
pollution
is
the
burning
of
fossil
fuels
such
as
coal
and
gasoline
which
is
used
to
power
a
car’s
engine.The
EPA
has
set
national
standards
to
help
control
the
level
of
harmful
pollutants
released
into
the
air,and
the
automobile
industry
has
acted
by
producing
a
hybrid
car
that
uses
less
gas
and
therefore
causes
less
pollution.
A
hybrid
car
is
a
combination
of
a
regular
car
that
runs
on
gasoline
and
an
electric
car
that
is
battery
powered.Some
people
tend
to
think
that
since
the
hybrid
car
is
partially
electric,you
have
to
plug
it
in
to
charge
it.But
that’s
not
how
it
works.The
144-volt
battery
pack
is
actually
recharged
through
the
energy
that
is
produced
when
the
car’s
brakes
are
used.This
is
referred
to
as
“regenerative
braking”,because
it
generates
electricity.
Although
the
hybrid
car
still
runs
on
gasoline
most
of
the
time,this
helps
it
use
less
gas
than
a
regular
car.When
the
driver
stops
at
a
traffic
light,the
engine
automatically
shuts
off
to
save
fuel.Then,as
soon
as
the
driver
puts
the
car
in
gear
and
touches
the
gas
pedal,the
engine
starts
back
up.
Have
you
ever
ridden
in
a
car
that
ran
out
of
gas That
probably
wouldn’t
happen
if
you
were
riding
in
a
hybrid
car.It
flashes
a
warning
on
its
computer
screen
that
says,“I
am
low
on
gas.”
When
it
completely
runs
out,the
warning
reads,“YOU
ARE
NOW
OUT
OF
GAS!”
Then
the
electric
power
supply
kicks
in
to
let
the
driver
travel
a
few
more
miles
to
a
gas
station.
1.Which
of
the
following
is
TRUE
according
to
the
passage
A.The

be
put
on
the
market.
B.Hybrid
cars
run
faster
than
regular
cars.
C.When
the
hybrid
car
stops
at
a
traffic
light,the
driver
will
get
a
warning.
D.The
burning
of
fossil
fuels
is
one
of
the
largest
sources
of
air
pollution.
2.According
to
the
passage,the
underlined
word
“hybrid”
refers
to
“ ”.
A.a
high-tech
discovery
B.energy
saving
C.a
new
invention
D.a
combination
of
two
things
3.“Regenerative
braking”
is
an
important
process
of
the
hybrid
car
because
   .
A.it
allows
the
car
to
come
to
a
quick
stop
B.it
gives
the
driver
a
smoother
ride
C.it
produces
energy
to
charge
the
battery
D.it
can
control
the
speed
of
the
car
4.Which
of
the
following
is
TRUE
about
the
EPA
A.They
designed
hybrid
cars.
B.They
outlawed(宣布……不合法)
the
burning
of
fossil
fuels.
C.They
set
important
guidelines
that
help
control
pollution.
D.Their
main
purpose
is
to
protect
endangered
plants
and

B
About
three
decades
ago,China
was
known
as
the
“Bicycle
Kingdom”.But
later
on,bikes
were
replaced
by
their
fuel-powered
competitors.
But
recent
months
have
seen
a
recovery
of
the
humble
bike
across
China,with
an
increasing
number
of
people
choosing
cycling
instead
of
driving
to
schools,to
workplaces
or
to
do
sightseeing.The
introduction
of
bike-sharing
schemes,pioneered
by
start-ups
like
Ofo
and
Mobike,has
brought
the
trend
to
a
new
level.
People
can
unlock
the
shared
bikes
by
simply
using
their
smartphones.The
bikes
are
equipped
with
GPS
and
can
be
left
anywhere
in
public
for
the
next
user.They’re
popular
among
many
Chinese
people
as
they
provide
an
effective
solution
to
the
“last
mile”
problem,which
refers
to
the
final
leg
of
a
person’s
journey.
“In
places
where
the
subway
doesn’t
extend,where
it’s
difficult
to
change
from
one
kind
of
transport
to
another,it’s
so
easy
to
get
where
you
want
to
go
with
Mobike,”
Hu
Hong,29,told
AFP.She
pedals(骑车)
to
her
Shanghai
real-estate
job.
However,the
schemes
have
also
led
to
problems
such
as
illegal
parking,vandalism(故意毁坏)
and
theft.Last
month,two
nurses
in
Beijing
were
placed
under
administrative
punishment
for
five
days
for
putting
locks
on
two
shared
bikes.And
in
December,a
man
who
stole
a
shared
bike
was
sentenced
to
a
3-month
detention(拘留),and
fined
1,000
yuan
by
the
Shanghai
Minhang
People’s
Court.
“Bike
sharing
is
a
greener
method
of
transportation
and
provides
a
user-friendly
experience,”
said
Liu
Xiaoming,vice
minister
of
transport.“But
it’s
a
combination
of
online
and
offline
business.Operators
are
usually
strong
in
online
services,but
lack
offline
business
experience,which
causes
problems.”
Now,Chinese
service
operators
are
trying
to
solve
the
problems.For
example,Mobike
sets
a
100-point
credit
score
for
each
user,with
points
taken
in
the
case
of
bad
behaviour.Once
a
score
drops
below
80,bike
rental
is
increased
to
100
yuan
per
30
minutes,up
from
0.5—1
yuan.
5.Which
of
the
following
belongs
to
the
“last
mile”
problem
A.Missing
the
business
plane
for
the
traffic
jam.
B.To
get
to
somewhere
the
subway
can
reach.
C.Having
troubles
in
changing
from
bus
to
taxi.
D.To
remove
the
last
rock
in
the
way.
6.What
reason
causes
many
problems
in
bike-sharing
A.Some
people
make
damage
to
the
bikes
on
purpose.
B.Operators
lack
offline
business
experience.
C.The
bike-sharing
business
is
too
complicated
to
run.
D.There
are
no
relative
laws
on
this
business.
7.Why
are
the
bike-sharing
systems
popular
A.They
are
very
effective.
B.They
can
be
picked
up
anywhere.
C.They
are
equipped
with
GPS.
D.They
help
solve
the
“last
mile”
problem.
8.What’s
the
best
title
for
this
passage
A.Bikes
