Which
column
in
Teen
Space
Magazine
is
the

probably
from
A.
Preface
B.
Outlook
C.
Story
D.
Witticism
B
Everyone
is
afraid
of
something.
Maybe
you're
afraid
of
spiders,
or
heights,
or
dogs,
or
the
dark.
And
traditionally,
we’ve
thought
that's
because
you
learned
to
be
afraid.
Probably
because
you
had
a
bad
run-in
with
something
at
some
point.
But
there's
a
different
idea
out
there
that's
been
getting
more
attention
lately:
the
idea
that
fears
aren’t
just
learned
…they
also
can
be
inherited.
It
sounds
like
a
wild
idea.
How
do
you
inherit
something
as
abstract
as
fear
But
over
the
last
fifty
years,
researchers
have
been
studying
just
how
much
fears
have
to
do
with
inheritance
and
genetics.
And
their
results
have
been
kind
of
surprising.
In
this
work,
they’ve
put
a
lot
of
effort
into
understanding
one
extreme
kind
of
fear,
called
a
phobia.
To
get
a
sense
of
how
much
genes
influence
fear,
scientists
have
begun
looking
at
identical
twins.
Since
identical
twins
have
almost
the
same
DNA,
researchers
can
figure
out
how
heritable
a
fear
is
by
comparing
how
often
specific
phobias
appear
in
identical
twins
as
opposed
to
other
brothers
or
sisters.
Because
even
though
twins
often
have
lots
of
similar
experiences,
they
probably
don't
share
the
types
of
experiences
that
cause
phobias
—
like
getting
bitten
by
a
dog
or
falling
out
of
a
tree.
One
1998
study
of
659
pairs
of
identical
and
fraternal
twins
in
Australia
looked
at
how
many
had
a
fear
of
blood.
The
study
found
that
genetics
accounted
for
71
percent
of
the
variation
among
those
people,
meaning
genetic
factors
play
a
pretty
big
role
in
determining
whether
a
person
has
some
specific
fear.
A
2016
study
also
found
that
fear
of
dental
work
was
over
30
percent
heritable.
So,
if
you
are
afraid
of
going
to
the
dentist,
it
really
might
not
be
your
dentist's
fault.
Overall,
first-degree
relatives
of
people
with
phobias
are
more
likely
to
have
similar
phobias
than
people
with
no
family
history.
So,
it's
pretty
clear
that
phobias
are
heritable!

What
does
the
author
mean
by
saying
the
underlined
sentence
in
Para.
2
A.
It's
unbelievable
that
people
can
inherit
something
so
abstract
like
fear.
B.
It's
surprising
that
people
know
so
little
about
inheritance
and
genetics.
C.
It's
natural
that
people
become
afraid
of
things
that
they
had
bad
experience
with.
D.
It's
interesting
that
people
arc
afraid
of
so
many
things
such
as
spiders
and
the
dark.
25.
Why
did
the
scientists
choose
identical
twins
as
their
test
subjects
A.
They
looks
very
much
alike.
B.
They
have
shared
experiences.
C.
They
have
similar
personalities.
D.
They
share
basically
the
same
DNA.
26.
What
did
the

try
to
prove
by
mentioning
the
studies
in
Para.

and
5
A.
Dentists
are

many
kids.
B.
Most

Young

a

Certified
Diabetes
Educator
at
the
American
Association
of
Diabetes
Educators
who
holds
a
very
personal
interest
in
advocating
for
annual
flu
vaccination
(预防接种).
Twelve
years
ago,
her
mother
passed
away
after
a
flu
infection.
Young’s
mother
had
a
chronic
(慢性的)
lung
condition,
but
she
had
refused
to
get
a
flu
vaccine
because
she
mistakenly
thought
it
would
make
her
suffer
from
the
flu.
It’s
a
sad,
but
all
too
common
story.
According
to
data
collected
by
the
Centers
for
Disease
Control
and
Prevention,
of
US
adults
who
were
hospitalized
for
flu
infection
in
2018-2019
with
additional
information
available,
93
percent
had
at
least
one
medical
condition.
In
the
US,
nearly
half
of
all
adults
aged
45-64
years,
and
80
percent
of
those
aged
65
years
and
older,
have
multiple
chronic
health
conditions
that
put
them
at
high
risk
for
flu-related
complications,
including
heart
attack,
stroke,
hospitalization,
and
even
death.
To
address
this
public
health
threat,
the
medical
community
is
working
together
to
protect
the
most
vulnerable
(易受伤害的)
patients.
Flu
viruses
cause
a
reaction
that
can
last
for
several
weeks
following
serious
infection.
This
flu-related
reaction
can
make
existing
chronic
conditions
worse,
including
heart
disease,
lung
disease
and
diabetes.
Additionally,
adults
with
diabetes
were
six
times
more
likely
to
be
hospitalized
and
three
times
more
likely
to
die
from
flu-related
complications
than
people
without
diabetes.
Yet
there
remains
low
awareness
of
the
importance
of
annual
flu
vaccination
for
adults
with
chronic
health
conditions.
Despite
the
abundance
of
public
health
guidance
urging
people
to
get
vaccinated
each
year,
increasing
flu
vaccination
rates
has
proven
extremely
difficult.
Vaccination
coverage
among
adults
has
increased
slightly
over
the
past
decade,
but
remains
about
40
percent,
leaving
more
than
half
of
US
adults
vulnerable
each
year.

The

a
strange
and
wild

quite
different
from
the
familiar
and
mostly
smooth

we
see
nightly
from
our
planet.
Soon
this
rough
space
will
have
even
stranger
features:
it
will
be
crowded
with
radio
telescopes.
Astronomers
are
planning
to
make
the
moon's
distant

our
newest
and
best

on
the
cosmic(宇宙的)
dark
ages,
a
mysterious
era
hiding
early
marks
of
stars
and
galaxies.
Our
universe
was
not
always
filled
with
stars.
About
380,000
years
after
the
big
bang,
the
universe
cooled,
and
the
first
atoms
of
hydrogen
formed.
Gigantic
hydrogen
clouds
soon
filled
the
universe.
But
for
a
few
hundred
million
years,
everything
remained
dark,
without
stars.
Then
came
the
cosmic
dawn:
the
first
stars
flickered,
galaxies
came
into
existence
and
slowly
the
universe's
large scale
structure
took
shape.
The
seeds
of
this
structure
must
have
been
present
in
the
dark age
hydrogen
clouds,
but
the
era
has
been
impossible
to
probe
using
optical(光学的)
telescopes—there
was
no
light.
And
although
this
hydrogen
produced
long wavelength(or
low frequency)
radio
emissions,radio
telescopes
on
Earth
have
found
it
nearly
impossible
to
detect
them.
Our
atmosphere
either
blocks
or
disturbs
these
faint
signals;
those
that
get
through
are
drowned
out
by
humanity's
radio
noise.
Scientists
have
dreamed
for
decades
of
studying
the
cosmic
dark
ages
from
the
moon's
far
side.
Now
multiple
space
agencies
plan
lunar
missions
carrying
radio wave detecting
instruments—some
within
the
next
three
years—and
astronomers'
dreams
are
set
to
become
reality.

focus
on
the
future
too
much,
it
makes
the
present
irrelevant.
____37____
If
it
is
really
eating
you
up,
try
thinking
about
what
you
can
do
right
now
to
avoid
any
negative
situations
you
might
be
worried
about.
____38____
It
is
so
easy
to
get
caught
up
in
other
people's
lives
and
compare
your
achievements
to
theirs,
so
if
you
find
yourself
doubting
your
achievements
and
feeling
less
than
someone
because
they
have
a
nicer
car
or
a
better
job,
take
a
step
away
from
them
for
a
while
until
you
no
longer
feel
negatively
about
the
differences
in
your
lives
and
achievements.
Better
mood,
better
life.
Put
yourself
first
and
stop
trying
to
please
everyone
else.
____39____
And
looking
after
yourself
before
anyone
else
is
the
most
important.
Work
towards
the
goals
you
want
to
achieve,
not
the
ones
others
want
you
to
achieve
or
the
ones
you
think
you
should
be
achieving
because
society
tells
us
too.
If
you
don't
want
to
get
married,
that's
OK,
and
if
you
do,
that's
OK
too.
____40____
A.
No
one
is
better
than
you.
B.
You
are
your
own
number
one.
C.
Just
make
sure
that
anything
you
do,
is
done
for
you!
D.
Stop
being
influenced
by
popular
and
influential
people.
E.
Surround
yourself
with
people
that
make
you
feel
better.
F.
What
will
be,
will
be
and
stressing
about
something
isn't
going
to
change
that.
G.
Thinking
ahead
is
important
but
it
can
often
be
the
cause
of
unnecessary
stress.

It
was
a
very
hot
afternoon.
My
friend
Leah
and
I
were
waiting
for
the
rush
hour
train.
We
were
tired
and
couldn’t
wait
to
get
back
to
the
place
where
we
were
living.
When
the
train
arrived,
we
got
into
the
second
carriage
from
the
front.
The
air-conditioning
wasn’t
working
at
the
rear
(后部),
so
the
front
was
particularly
crowded
that
day.
I
sat
by
the
window
admiring
the
changing
landscape.
Suddenly
we
felt
enormous
pressure
pushing
us
backwards
into
our
seats.
The
windows
broke
into
tiny
pieces
and
dust
flew
around
violently.
I
could
barely
open
my
eyes.
The
train
was
suffering
from
a
crash,
and
it
didn’t
feel
as
if
it
were
going
to
stop.
I
thought
I
would
be
dead.
I
thought
about
my
husband
Guy,
who
was
supposed
to
receive
the
news
first.
I
thought
of
my
dear
father
and
other
family
members,
wondering
how
each
would
deal
with
my
death.
Voices
began
to
break
through
my
thoughts.
People
were
anxious.
Strangely,
I
was
totally
calm.
I
wasn’t
panicking;
my
heart
wasn’t
even
beating
fast.
When
the
train
finally
stopped,
we
slowly
stood
up,
pushing
off
the
table
that
had
fallen
onto
us;
others
stayed
in
their
seats
and
many
were
injured
and
covered
in
blood.
I
could
hear
screaming.
A
soldier
pushed
the
damaged
door
open
for
us
to
escape.
Our
carriage
had
run
out
of
rails
and
we
were
halfway
home.
We
had
a
lot
of
blood
on
us
and
I
searched
my
body
for
wounds,
but
I
didn’t
find
any.
My
knees
felt
painful
and
my
hips
were
black
and
blue,
and
Leah
had
her
hand
cut
when
jumping
off
the
train,
but
that
wasn’t
serious.
Helicopters
landed
and
we
saw
soldiers
running
in
and
out.
All
around
us
were
ambulances
(救护车)
and
people
lying
on
the
ground.
Everyone
was
shouting
for
help.
I
rang
Guy,
who
was
very
calm
and
said
he
would
come
and
get
us.
Seeing
all
these
brought
me
great
emotional
hurt.

【22题详解】
细节理解题。根据Mansplaining部分中“—You

【23题详解】
推理判断题。根据文章标题“Buzzwords
(流行词汇)”以及文章主要介绍了一些如今流行的流行词汇的含义,可推知,文章可能来自《青少年空间杂志》的“前景”专栏。故选B。
B
Everyone
is
afraid
of
something.
Maybe
you're
afraid
of
spiders,
or
heights,
or
dogs,
or
the
dark.
And
traditionally,
we’ve
thought
that's
because
you
learned
to
be
afraid.
Probably
because
you
had
a
bad
run-in
with
something
at
some
point.
But
there's
a
different
idea
out
there
that's
been
getting
more
attention
lately:
the
idea
that
fears
aren’t
just
learned
…they
also
can
be
inherited.
It
sounds
like
a
wild
idea.
How
do
you
inherit
something
as
abstract
as
fear
But
over
the
last
fifty
years,
researchers
have
been
studying
just
how
much
fears
have
to
do
with
inheritance
and
genetics.
And
their
results
have
been
kind
of
surprising.
In
this
work,
they’ve
put
a
lot
of
effort
into
understanding
one
extreme
kind
of
fear,
called
a
phobia.
To
get
a
sense
of
how
much
genes
influence
fear,
scientists
have
begun
looking
at
identical
twins.
Since
identical
twins
have
almost
the
same
DNA,
researchers
can
figure
out
how
heritable
a
fear
is
by
comparing
how
often
specific
phobias
appear
in
identical
twins
as
opposed
to
other
brothers
or
sisters.
Because
even
though
twins
often
have
lots
of
similar
experiences,
they
probably
don't
share
the
types
of
experiences
that
cause
phobias
—
like
getting
bitten
by
a
dog
or
falling
out
of
a
tree.
One
1998
study
of
659
pairs
of
identical
and
fraternal
twins
in
Australia
looked
at
how
many
had
a
fear
of
blood.
The
study
found
that
genetics
accounted
for
71
percent
of
the
variation
among
those
people,
meaning
genetic
factors
play
a
pretty
big
role
in
determining
whether
a
person
has
some
specific
fear.
A
2016
study
also
found
that
fear
of
dental
work
was
over
30
percent
heritable.
So,
if
you
are
afraid
of
going
to
the
dentist,
it
really
might
not
be
your
dentist's
fault.
Overall,
first-degree
relatives
of
people
with
phobias
are
more
likely
to
have
similar
phobias
than
people
with
no
family
history.
So,
it's
pretty
clear
that
phobias
are
heritable!

saying
the
underlined
sentence
in
Para.

something
so
abstract
like
fear.
B.
It's
surprising
that
people
know
so
little
about
inheritance

C.
It's
natural
that
people
become
afraid
of
things
that
they
had
bad

D.
It's
interesting
that
people
arc
afraid
of
so
many
things
such
as

and
the
dark.
25.
Why
did
the
scientists
choose
identical
twins
as
their
test
subjects
A.
They
looks
very
much
alike.
B.
They
have
shared
experiences.
C.
They
have
similar

basically
the
same
DNA.
26.
What
did
the

【解析】
【分析】这是一篇说明文。文章主要说明了研究人员发现人们能遗传像恐惧这样抽象的东西,介绍了研究开展的过程以及研究的发现。
【24题详解】
句意猜测题。根据画线词后文“How

【25题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段中“Since
identical

almost
the
same

researchers
can
figure
out
how
heritable
a
fear
is
by
comparing
how

or
sisters.(由于同卵双胞胎拥有几乎相同的DNA,研究人员可以通过比较特定恐惧症在同卵双胞胎和其他兄弟姐妹中出现的频率来了解恐惧的遗传程度)”可知,科学家选择同卵双胞胎作为他们的测试对象因为他们基本上拥有相同的DNA。
故选D。
【26题详解】
推理判断题。根据第四段“One

【27题详解】
推理判断题。根据第一段中“But

Young
is
a
chemist
and
Certified
Diabetes
Educator
at
the
American
Association
of
Diabetes
Educators
who
holds
a
very
personal
interest
in
advocating
for
annual
flu
vaccination
(预防接种).
Twelve
years
ago,
her
mother
passed
away
after
a
flu
infection.
Young’s
mother
had
a
chronic
(慢性的)
lung
condition,
but
she
had
refused
to
get
a
flu
vaccine
because
she
mistakenly
thought
it
would
make
her
suffer
from
the
flu.
It’s
a
sad,
but
all
too
common
story.
According
to
data
collected
by
the
Centers
for
Disease
Control
and
Prevention,
of
US
adults
who
were
hospitalized
for
flu
infection
in
2018-2019
with
additional
information
available,
93
percent
had
at
least
one
medical
condition.
In
the
US,
nearly
half
of
all
adults
aged
45-64
years,
and
80
percent
of
those
aged
65
years
and
older,
have
multiple
chronic
health
conditions
that
put
them
at
high
risk
for
flu-related
complications,
including
heart
attack,
stroke,
hospitalization,
and
even
death.
To
address
this
public
health
threat,
the
medical
community
is
working
together
to
protect
the
most
vulnerable
(易受伤害的)
patients.
Flu
viruses
cause
a
reaction
that
can
last
for
several
weeks
following
serious
infection.
This
flu-related
reaction
can
make
existing
chronic
conditions
worse,
including
heart
disease,
lung
disease
and
diabetes.
Additionally,
adults
with
diabetes
were
six
times
more
likely
to
be
hospitalized
and
three
times
more
likely
to
die
from
flu-related
complications
than
people
without
diabetes.
Yet
there
remains
low
awareness
of
the
importance
of
annual
flu
vaccination
for
adults
with
chronic
health
conditions.
Despite
the
abundance
of
public
health
guidance
urging
people
to
get
vaccinated
each
year,
increasing
flu
vaccination
rates
has
proven
extremely
difficult.
Vaccination
coverage
among
adults
has
increased
slightly
over
the
past
decade,
but
remains
about
40
percent,
leaving
more
than
half
of
US
adults
vulnerable
each
year.

A.
They

reaction
can
make
existing
chronic
conditions
worse,
including
heart
disease,
lung
disease
and
diabetes.
(这种与流感相关的反应会使现有的慢性疾病恶化,包括心脏病、肺病和糖尿病)”可推知,流感感染和慢性病相互影响。故选A项。
【30题详解】
推理判断题。根据文章最后一段“Vaccination
coverage
among
adults
has
increased
slightly
over
the
past
decade,
but
remains
about
40
percent,
leaving
more
than
half
of
US
adults
vulnerable
each
year.
(在过去十年中,成年人的疫苗接种率略有上升,但仍保持在40%左右,每年有超过一半的美国成年人易受感染)”可推知,大多数美国成年人对流感疫苗接种的态度是不关注的。故选D项。
【31题详解】
主旨大意题。通读全文,再结合文章第二段“US
adults
who
were
hospitalized
for
flu
infection
in
2018-2019
with
additional
information
available,
93
percent
had
at
least
one
medical
condition.
(在2018-2019年因流感感染住院的美国成年人中,93%的人至少有一种疾病)”以及第三段“In
the
US,
nearly
half
of
all
adults
aged
45-64
years,
and
80
percent
of
those
aged
65
years
and
older,
have
multiple
chronic
health
conditions
that
put
them
at
high
risk
for
flu-related
complications
(在美国,近一半的45-64岁成年人以及80%的65岁及以上的成年人患有多种慢性疾病,这些疾病使他们面临流感相关并发症的高风险)”可推知,本文主要介绍了流感感染对美国成年人的威胁性之高。C项“流感感染对美国成年人是一种威胁”符合文意,最适合作为本文标题。故选C项。

【分析】本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了科学家们想要在月球背面架设射电望远镜,以此来研究宇宙暗黑纪元。
【32题详解】
推理判断题。根据第一段“The
far
side
of
the
moon
is
a
strange
and
wild
region,
quite
different
from
the
familiar
and
mostly
smooth
face
we

Soon
this
rough
space
will
have
even
stranger
features:
it
will
be
crowded
with
radio
telescopes.(月球的背面是一个奇怪而狂野的区域,与我们每晚从地球上看到的熟悉而平滑的面孔大不相同。很快,这个粗糙的空间将会有更加奇特的特征:
它将被射电望远镜所包围。)”可知,月球的远端很快就要被射电望远镜所包围;而根据第四段“Scientists
have
dreamed
for
decades
of
studying
the
cosmic
dark
ages
from
the
moon's
far
side.(几十年来,科学家们一直梦想着从月球的背面研究宇宙的暗黑纪元。)”可知,科学家们想通过研究月球的背面来研究宇宙的黑暗纪元。由以上可以推出,架设电望远镜的目的是研究宇宙的黑暗纪元。故选C项。
【33题详解】
词句猜测题。根据划线词部分“The
seeds
of
this

must
have
been
present
in
the
dark age
hydrogen
clouds,
but
the
era
has
been

using
optical(光学的)
telescopes—there
was
no
light.(这种结构的种子一定存在于黑暗纪元的氢云中,但是这个时代不可能用光学望远镜来probe
——那里没有光。)”中的there
was
no
light解释了不能用光学望远镜的原因。且根据后文“And
although
this
hydrogen
produced
long wavelength
(or
low frequency)
radio
emissions,
radio
telescopes
on
Earth
have
found
it
nearly
impossible
to
detect
them.(尽管这种氢气产生了长波长(或低频率)的电辐射,但地球上的射电望远镜已经发现几乎不可能探测到它们。)”中detect即为“探测”之意。前后对应,probe应为“探测”之意,意同“explore”。故选A项。
34题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段“Our
atmosphere
either
blocks
or
disturbs
these
faint
signals;
those
that
get

are
drowned
out
by
humanity's
radio
noise.(我们的大气层要么阻碍或干扰这些微弱的信号;那些通过的信号被人类的无线电噪声所淹没。)”中的humanity's
radio
noise可知,检测不到射电辐射的原因是,地球上的无线电信号造成了太多的干扰。故选D项。
【35题详解】
判断推理题。根据第四段“Scientists
have
dreamed
for
decades
of
studying
the
cosmic
dark
ages
from
the

where
we're
actually
going
to
be
putting
these
telescopes
down
on
the
moon
in
the
next
few
years.”(
“我们未来几年将把这些望远镜放在月球上的地方。”)”可推知,划线部分的意思是月球是架设射电望远镜的理想场所。故选C项。
