M:I'm
afraid
you
can't
leave
your
car
there,
Miss.
W:But
I
shall
only
need
a
few
minutes.
My
friend
is
coming
here
soon.
M:Please
look
at
the
sign
“No
Parking”.
You
can
park
in
the
next
street.
It's
usually
quiet
there.

W:Textbooks
are
so
expensive.
I've
spent
$200
on
them
already!
Let's
share
one
for
chemistry,
since
we're
in
the
same
class.
M:Good
idea.
I
haven't
bought
mine
yet.
The
chemistry
book
is
$100,
so
I'll
give
you
$50
tomorrow.

W:What
are
you
watching,
Andy
It
sounds
like
a
Spanish
movie.
M:Close.
It's
an
Italian
film.
I'm
going
on
a
trip
with
my
family
to
Sicily.
I
learned
both
French
and
Italian
at
home
growing
up,
but
it's
been
a
while.

M:We're
almost
on
the
ground.
Did
you
put
the
bags
above
us
I
hope
they're
easy
to
find.
W:No,
they're
two
seats
ahead.
There
wasn't
much
room
since
the
flight
was
packed.

W:I
feel
so
lazy
since
school
ended
for
the
summer.
Gym
classes
every
day
and
after-school
football
practice
kept
me
fit
and
strong.
What
can
I
do
now
M:How
about
joining
a
swim
club
W:That's
a
great
idea
for
summer.
Thanks!

W:How
long
have
you
played
the
piano
You're
great!
M:Thanks!
I've
been
playing
since
I
was
nine.
And
now
I'm
17!
I
have
to
practice
for
two
hours
every
day,
but
I
love
it.
W:That's
good,
since
you
do
it
so
much.
I
wouldn't
be
able
to
sit
still
that
long!
Why
do
you
like
it
M:Well,
now
that
I
have
more
experience,
I
write
my
own
music.
I
feel
creative,
and
I
enjoy
making
people
happy
as
they
listen
to
me.
W:That's
cool!
I
feel
that
way
when
I
play
soccer.
When
I
play,
I
feel
good
about
using
my
skills.
And
people
like
to
watch
me.
You
know
what
I
mean
M:Exactly!

W:What
a
happy
ending!
M:So,
David
finally
came
back
W:That's
right.
Lillian
had
been
waiting
for
six
months.
Every
morning,
she
would
put
fresh
flowers
in
the
vase
by
the
window.
Every
afternoon,
she
would
fix
her
hair
and
makeup,
hoping
he
would
come
home
from
the
mountains.
And
every
evening,
she
would
set
the
table
for
two.
She
never
gave
up
hoping
that
he
would
come
back.
M:He
is
so
lucky.
He
was
missing
for
so
long
...
W:Until
a
few
days
ago.
You
didn't
hear
how
it
ended.
David
had
gone
to
research
the
language
of
people
living
in
a
faraway
village.
He
became
very
sick
while
he
was
there
and
couldn't
get
in
touch
with
anyone.
Finally,
he
got
better
and
was
able
to
find
his
way
back.
After
walking
through
the
jungle
for
two
days,
he
reached
the
main
road
and
found
a
ride
to
town.

W:Hello,
Martin.
Long
time
no
see!
I
heard
you
went
to
France
to
study.
How
was
that
M:I
was
only
there
for
a
year,
then
I
took
a
year
off
to
travel
around
Europe.
W:Where
did
you
go
M:I
went
to
Switzerland
first,
and
then
Germany
and
Austria.
I
was
planning
to
end
my
trip
in
Italy,
but
it
didn't
work
out.
W:Oh,
well.
Is
it
good
to
be
back
M:Of
course,
but
I'm
returning
to
France
to
finish
my
degree.
It's
a
four-year
program.
W:Oh.
So
you're
just
back
to
Beijing
to
visit
your
family
M:Yeah.
I'm
here
for
another
two
months.
W:Any
plans
M:In
July
my
mother
is
turning
seventy,
so
we'll
do
something
special
for
her.
Next
month
we're
going
to
drive
to
the
coast.
Then
I
will
be
back
to
France
before
September
1st.
W:Good
for
you.
Do
you
think
you
could
fit
me
into
your
busy
schedule
M:Ha
ha.
I
can
always
make
time
for
my
friends.
How
about
tonight

W:Hong,
it
seems
like
you
really
struggle
to
learn
English.
Is
this
level
too
hard
for
you
M:I
don't
know
...
I
think
it's
just
boring.
I
don't
like
the
workbooks,
because
the
lessons
talk
about
baby
things.
I'm
not
a
little
child.
I
want
to
learn
something
more
exciting.
W:Hmm
...
I
have
an
idea
that
you'll
like.
This
week,
you
can
do
a
special
project
for
class.
M:Oh
What's
that
W:I
want
you
to
watch
some
YouTube
videos
of
people
speaking
in
different
English
accents.
I'll
send
you
the
links
for
the
ones
you
should
watch.
They're
very
funny.
One
person
speaks
with
30
different
accents
in
ten
minutes!
M:Wow,
that's
great!
But
won't
it
be
harder
for
me
to
learn
English
if
I'm
listening
to
so
many
different
ways
of
speaking
the
language
W:It
shouldn't.
This
is
just
a
fun
project
to
help
you
get
more
interested
in
the
lessons.
There's
a
more
serious
side
to
it,
though.
I
want
you
to
write
a
one-page
essay
about
the
videos
and
tell
the
class
about
your
project
on
Friday.
You
can
show
some
of
the
videos
during
your
presentation,
too,
if
you
like.
I
think
the
whole
class
will
benefit
from
this.
M:I
can't
wait
to
get
started!
Thank
you,
Ms
Winters.

It
is
strange
how
sometimes
even
the
smallest
conversation
with
someone
can
change
how
you
think.
For
me,
it
happened
last
Sunday.
Twice
a
week
I
run
through
the
park
by
my
house.
There
is
an
open
area
in
the
park,
with
a
beautiful
lake
in
the
middle.
Sometimes
I
can
see
turtles
swim
in
the
lake.
The
last
couple
of
weeks
I
had
noticed
an
old
lady
sitting
on
a
bench
with
some
turtles.
My
curious
nature
finally
made
me
approach
her,
and
I
asked
her
what
she
was
doing.
She
told
me
she
was
cleaning
off
the
tiny
plant
life
from
the
turtles'
shells.
She
said
that
it
builds
up
and
prevents
their
shells
from
being
healthy
and
strong.
Apparently,
she
had
been
doing
this
once
a
week
for
the
last
year.
I
also
learned
that
even
though
this
lake
was
not
polluted,
this
was
a
common
problem
for
turtles.
I
was
amazed
at
this
lady's
commitment
to
helping
out
these
helpless
animals.
So
I
asked
her,
“If
what
you
say
is
true,
then
how
will
this
really
matter
in
the
end?”
She
carefully
set
a
turtle
free
back
into
the
lake
and
watched
it
swim
away.
“I
like
to
think
that
every
little
bit
of
help
counts.
And
I
think
if
they
could
talk,
they
would
say
it
matters
to
them.”

Dear
Jack,
I
am
planning
to
visit
New
Zealand
this
winter
vacation.
How
excited
I
am
when
I
think
of
meeting
you
in
New
Zealand!
As
you
are
a
local
resident
and
an
experienced
traveler,
I
would
like
to
ask
you
for
some
information.
First
of
all,
I
wonder
if
you
can
recommend
some
places
of
interest
which
are
worth
a
visit
for
foreigners
like
me.
Your
first
hand
experience
will
be
more
convincing
than
the
advertisements
provided
by
travel
agencies.
Besides,
I
would
appreciate
it
if
you
could
give
me
some
detailed
information
about
my
destination
such
as
local
snacks,
festivals
or
traditions.
Last
but
not
least,
is
there
anything
else
I
need
to
pay
special
attention
to
when
I
am
there
I'm
looking
forward
to
your
reply!
Yours,

Paragraph
1:
Suddenly
a
little
rabbit
jumped
out
in
front
of
my
horse.
Afraid
that
I
might
hurt
the
lovely
small
creature,
I
automatically
let
out
a
cry
to
stop
my
horse.
However,
it
became
scared
and
started
to
run
like
crazy.
All
this
coming
without
warning,
I
was
seized
by
fear.
“Don't
let
go
of
the
rope!
Keep
calm!”
yelled
Dad.
I
followed
what
he
told
me
to.
To
my
relief,
it
stopped
slowly.
But
before
we
jumped
off
the
horses,
we
found
that
we
had
been
off
the
beaten
track
and
got
lost.

it

Exhausted
and
hungry,
I
wondered
if
we
could

our
way
back.
I
kept
shouting
for
help,
hoping
my
shouts
could
be
heard
by
someone,
but
there
was
no
reply.
Dad
sounded
a
little
worried
as
he
reminded
me
to
calm
down.
It
was
then
that
my
mind
raced.
“Listen,
dad,
the
rushing
river
water,”
I
shouted
excitedly,
“we
can
return
to
the
farm
house
down
the
river.”
Before
long,
we
caught
sight
of
the
lights
in
the

we

safe.

When
you
are
travelling,
whether
on
business
or
for
pleasure,
you
often
need
to
stay
in
a
hotel.
The
kind
of
hotel
you
choose
probably
is
decided
above
all
according
to
how
much
money
you
want
to
spend.
There
are
small
hotels
with
very
few
services,
where
the
prices
are
low,
or
there
are
large
hotels
with
all
the
very
latest
comforts,
where
you
could
spend
a
lot
of
the
money
you
have
in
the
bank
for
one
very
comfortable
night.
There
are
several
different
kinds
of
people
who
go
to
hotels.
Some
want
to
live,
rather
than
just
stay,
in
a
hotel;
the
hotels
which
are
designed
to
meet
their
needs
are
called
residential
hotels
(长住型饭店).
However,
most
people
who
stay
in
hotels
are
either
business
people
or
tourists
on
holiday.
In
most
hotels,
there
are
two
kinds
of
rooms:
single
rooms,
for
the
use
of
one
person,
and
double
rooms,
for
the
use
of
two
people.
In
addition,
in
large
hotels,
there
are
also
suites
(套房),
which
include
two
or
more
rooms
connected
together—perhaps
a
bed-room
and
a
living
room.
They
are
for
people
who
are
very
rich
or
very
important.
24.One's
choice
of
a
particular
hotel
is
made
mainly
according
to
________.
A.how
much
one
is
willing
to
pay
for
a
night
B.whether
one
is
travelling
on
business
or
for
pleasure
C.whether
the
hotel
is
in
the
central
part
of
a
city
D.how
good

the

a
certain
country
comes,
he
will

A.live

a

hotel
with
few
services
B.stay
in
a
single
room
of
a

C.stay

a

D.stay

26.If
a
person
stays
in
a
modern
hotel
with
latest
comforts
for
a
night,
________.
A.he
will
become

B.he
has
to
pay
a
lot
of
money
C.he
has
to
spend
all
the
money
he

Tips
for
Green
Travel
with
Kids
Traveling
doesn't
mean
letting
go
of
all
the
eco-friendly
choices
we
work
so
hard
to
achieve
in
our
daily
life.
Here
are
a
few
tips
for
green
travel
with
kids:
Booking
nonstop
flights
whenever
possible
will
reduce
carbon
emissions
(碳排放).
If
the
closest
local
airport
doesn't
have
nonstop
flights
to
a
certain
place,
check
in
with
other
local
airports
to
see
if
nonstop
flights
are
available.
__31__
Whether
you're
flying
or
driving,
it's
easy
when
traveling
to
pull
into
fast
food
restaurants
for
snacks.
__32__
My
kids
love
to
help
plan
snacks.
I
let
them
create
their
own
snacks
for
the
trip
at
home.
__33__
At
the
airport,
keep
your
reusable
bottles
empty
until
you
have
passed
through
the
security
(安检).
Fill
them
up
on
the
other
side
of
the
security
checkpoint.
Single-use
plastic
water
bottles
create
unnecessary
waste
and
the
plastic
can
be
harmful
to
your
health.
__34__
Open
a
few
windows
and
turn
off
the
air
conditioner
(空调).
You
should
also
help
your
children
keep
their
good,
green
habits
from
home
to
place
while
traveling.
Sometimes
vacation
can
mean
more
than
one
shower
each
day—once
in
the
morning
and
again
after
getting
out
of
the
pool.
Pay
attention
to
the
number
of
showers
and
the
length
of
showers.
__35__
A.Walking
is
good
for
your
health.
B.Try
to
cut
back
to
save
water
and
energy.
C.But
you
can
pack
healthy
food
from
home.
D.Traveling
is
a
great
chance
to
introduce
your
kids
to
the
world.
E.Reusable
water
bottles
are
easy
to
bring
along
wherever
you
travel.
F.Save
energy
by
turning
off
the
hotel
room
lights
when
you
head
out
for
the
day.
G.You
might
have
to
drive
a
bit
further,
but
saving
on
carbon
emissions
makes
it
worthwhile.
第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分45分)
第一节 完形填空(共20小题;每小题1.5分,满分30分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。
When
I
started
riding
a
bike
a
couple
of
years
ago,
I
didn't
think
my
involvement
would
ever
be
more
serious
than
the
occasional
short
ride.
But
as
I
built
strength,
my
friends
__36__
me
to
step
up
my
training
and
try
some
longer
trips.
The
first
one
to
come
along
was
a
150-mile
trip,
the
MS-150,
an
annual
__37__
that
raises
money
to
fight
AIDS.
When
I
registered,
the
idea
seemed
fantastic
and
I
trained
with
__38__.
However,
as
the
time
for
the
ride
approached,
my
self-doubts
__39__
beyond
my
endurance
(忍耐).
I
__40__
wanted
to
raise
money
for
the
charity,
but
I
didn't
really
want
to
bike
all
those
miles
for
two
days
straight.
The
ride
began
on
a
beautiful
Sunday
morning
in
the
Georgia
countryside,
and
for
the
first
few
hours
I
felt
__41__.This
was
just
the
experience
I
had
__42__,
and
my
spirits
were
high.
__43__
by
the
end
of
the
day,
I
felt
tired
out.
If
the
body
is
__44__
to
the
mind,
here
was
evidence.
Every
__45__
my
brain
pushed
out
seemed
to
travel
right
down
to
my
legs.
“I
can't
handle
this”
became
a
leg
cramp
(抽筋),
and
“Everyone
else
is
a
better
rider”
translated
into
__46__
of
breath.
I
was
sure
I'd
have
to
__47__.
As
I
topped
the
crest
(顶)
of
a
hill,
the
beautiful
sunset
kept
me
going
for
a
few
minutes
more.
Then
in
the
distance,
I
saw
a
lone
woman
riding
very
slowly
__48__
the
bright
red
sun.
I
__49__
that
the
person
looked
different
in
some
way,
but
I
couldn't
tell
why.
So
I
pushed
myself
to
__50__.
There
she
was,
riding
along
slowly
but
__51__,
with
a
slight
and
determined
smile
on
her
face
and
she
had
only
one
leg.
My
focus
changed
in
that
instant.
For
a
whole
day
I'd
been
__52__
my
body.
But
now
I
knew
it
wasn't
the
body,
but
the
__53__
that
would
help
me
reach
my
goal.
It
rained
all
the
second
day.
I
never
saw
the
one-legged
biker
again,
but
I
pushed
on
without
__54__,
knowing
she
was
out
there
with
me
somewhere.
And
at
the
end
of
the
day,
still
feeling
__55__,
I
completed
the
150-mile
trip.

第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事。
It
was
summer,
and
my
dad
wanted
to
treat
me
to
a
vacation
like
never
before.
He
decided
to
take
me
on
a
trip
to
the
Wild
West.
We
took
a
plane
to
Albuquerque,
a
big
city
in
the
state
of
New
Mexico.
We
reached
Albuquerque
in
the
late
afternoon.
Uncle_Paul,_my
dad's
friend,
picked
us
up
from
the
airport
and
drove
us
up
to
his
farm
in
Pecos.
His
wife
Tina
cooked
us
a
delicious
dinner
and
we
got
to
know
his
sons
Ryan
and
Kyle.
My
dad
and
I
spent
the
night
in
the
guestroom
of
the
farm_house
listening
to
the
frogs
and
water
rolling
down
the
river
nearby.
Very
early
in
the
morning,
Uncle
Paul
woke
us
up
to
have
breakfast.
“The
day
starts
at
dawn
on
my
farm,”
he
said.
After
breakfast,
I
went
to
help
Aunt
Tina
feed
the
chickens,
while
my
dad
went
with
Uncle
Paul
to
take
the
sheep
out
to
graze
(吃草).
I
was
impressed
to
see
my
dad
and
Uncle
Paul
riding
horses.
They
looked
really
cool.
In
the
afternoon,
I
asked
Uncle
Paul
if
I
could
take
a
horse
ride,
and
he
said
yes,
as
long
as
my
dad
went
with
me.
I
wasn't
going
to
take
a
horse
ride
by
myself
anyway.
So,
my
dad
and
I
put
on
our
new
cowboy
hats,
got
on
our
horses,
and
headed
slowly
towards
the
mountains.
“Don't
be
late
for
supper,”
Uncle
Paul
cried,
“and
keep
to
the
track
so
that
you
don't
get_lost!”“OK!”
my
dad
cried
back.
After
a
while
Uncle
Paul
and
his
farm
house
were
out
of
sight.
It
was
so
peaceful
and
quiet
and
the
colors
of
the
brown
rocks,
the
deep
green
pine
trees,
and
the
late
afternoon
sun
mixed
to
create
a
magic
scene.
It
looked
like
a
beautiful
woven
(编织的)
blanket
spread
out
upon
the
ground
just
for
us.
