chance 用作可数名词时,意为“机会”,常用搭配:
①by chance 偶然;意外
② have a chance to do sth.
=have a chance of doing sth.有机会做某事
③ have no chance to do sth.没有机会做某事
拓展:chance 作名词还可意为“可能性”,此时既可作可数名词,又可作不可数名词。后常接of doing sth. 或that 引导的同位语从句,表示“做某事的可能性”。
e.g. Since I was fully prepared, I felt that my chances of winning were strong.
因为我准备很充分,所以我认为赢的可能性比较大。

含有情态动词的被动语态用来说明某人或某物对被动性动作所反映出的情感和态度。
语法讲解
基本构成:情态动词+be+ 动词的过去分词,
常考的情态动词有:can/could,may/might,must,need,should 等。
e.g. The computer must be repaired right now.
这台电脑必须立刻修理。

句式变换
含有情态动词的被动语态的疑问句、否定句的变化
均需借助于情态动词来完成。
1.一般疑问句:将情态动词提到句首。
e.g. The work must be done right now.
这项工作必须立刻去做。

2.特殊疑问句:由特殊疑问词加上含有情态
动词的被动语态的一般疑问句构成。
e.g. Where can the book be found
这本书在什么地方能被找到呢?
3.否定句:在情态动词后面加上not 即可。
e.g. Fourteen-year-olds should not be allowed to drive.
十四岁的孩子不应该被允许开车。
