Then one day I watched an English movie called Toy Story. I fell in love with this exciting and funny movie! So I began to watch other English movies, too. Although I could not understand everything the characters said, their body language and the expressions on their faces helped me to get the meaning. I also realized I could get the meaning by listening for just the key words. My pronunciation improved as well by listening to the conversations in English movies. I discovered that listening to something interesting is the secret to language learning. I also learned useful sentences like “It’s a piece of cake” or “It serves you right”. I did not understand these sentences at first. But because I wanted to understand the story, I looked them up in a dictionary.
Now I really enjoy my English class. I want to learn new words and more grammar so that I can have a better understanding of English movies.

A hole inside my heart
I'm all alone
And the rooms are getting smaller
I wonder how
I wonder why
I wonder where they are

Reaching for a love that seems so far
So I say a little prayer
And hope my dreams will take me there
Where the skies are blue
To see you once again, my love
Over seas from coast to coast
To find the place I love the most
Where the fields are green
To see you once again my love
I try to read

Here is my advice.
I’d like to give you some advice.
Dear Mary,
I’m sorry to hear that you have difficulties learning English. Now I’d like to give you some advice.
Firstly, you should read the textbook every day and try to memorize the new words in time. It’s the most important thing. Secondly, it is a good idea to have conversations with your friends in English. Just open your mouth. Making mistakes makes you a better learner. Besides, you could try to improve your listening by watching English films and listening to English songs! Last but not least, why not keep diaries in English Even if you just write some simple sentences, it can improve your writing skills.
I hope my advice can help you and I believe that you can learn English better soon!
Yours,
Tom
