1．news为不可数名词，意为“消息；新闻”。
“一条消息”为a piece of news，“两条消息”为“two pieces of news”。
2．stand的用法：
(1)v.站，stand up起立
(2)v.“忍受；忍耐”，通常用于否定句、疑问句中，后面跟名词、代词或动名词作宾语。

3．mind的用法：
(1)n.主意；想法
change one's mind改变某人的主意
(2)v.“介意，在乎”，主要用于疑问句、否定句中。

作动词，意为“想要；需要”，用法如下：
(1)“want＋名词、代词或动名词”，意为“想要……”。
(2)want to do sth.意为“想要做某事”。eg：

(3)want sb.to do sth.意为“想要某人做某事”。
