On 26 December, 2004, a tsunami hit Southeast Asia, killing more than 6,500 tourists, fishermen, and other locals. A great many people are still missing and the number of deaths is likely to increase. The damage caused by the disaster is making it hard for the rescue workers to provide the necessary help.
